Good morning from a still rainy NJ. The rain should move out mid-morning and I am looking forward to drying out a little. I kept thinking how lucky my mom and I were. I swear, we got three of the only sunny days in the entire month to be on vacation. As of now, I think everyone here is feeling soggy.
Day One is in the bag and I got 98% of my To-Do List accomplished. Six Days to go. The only thing I didn't do was make one last batch of hummingbird nectar. I am still seeing them most days at the feeder and I want to keep them fed as long as they need it. They are more used to us now, they will come to the feeder even if we are on the front steps. I got a few (blurry, very blurry) pictures of one over the weekend.
I cleaned out the freezer and man, I hate doing that. Makes my hands freeze. I threw out a lot of condiments and jellies. Everything other than the onion drawer is sparkly clean too.
I made it to CC and met two new (to me) women. The woman who is usually there- the one that chews gum loudly- she wasn't there but I heard through the grapevine (one of the other women) that she lives across the street from the house that exploded on Friday.
Wait. Did I tell you about that? Friday night there were a ton of sirens for a long time and there were reports of a house that exploded up the mountain. An entire house blew up. Everyone was taken to hospitals and will be ok. Whew! Turned out that the house was one that Cait and Tom looked at this summer. The house itself was gorgeous but needed too much work for them to consider it. Gum Chewer was interviewed by several TV stations. I am glad that she was ok too. Crazy news!
My plans for today are to finish the grocery list and deep clean the LR. I lent Scott our stepladder, thinking that I wouldn't need it for a while. Guess what I need just about every day? Short girl problems. Haha!
I have an old, rickety one that is a bone-health hazard to use for now. I'll be careful, I promise.
The other big thing is to work on b-day cards, 5 of them, one is started, and four more to go.
Hope that everyone has a wonderful day!
