Good morning from a still rainy NJ. The rain should move out mid-morning and I am looking forward to drying out a little. I kept thinking how lucky my mom and I were. I swear, we got three of the only sunny days in the entire month to be on vacation. As of now, I think everyone here is feeling soggy. :gloomy:

Day One is in the bag and I got 98% of my To-Do List accomplished. Six Days to go. The only thing I didn't do was make one last batch of hummingbird nectar. I am still seeing them most days at the feeder and I want to keep them fed as long as they need it. They are more used to us now, they will come to the feeder even if we are on the front steps. I got a few (blurry, very blurry) pictures of one over the weekend.
I cleaned out the freezer and man, I hate doing that. Makes my hands freeze. I threw out a lot of condiments and jellies. Everything other than the onion drawer is sparkly clean too.
I made it to CC and met two new (to me) women. The woman who is usually there- the one that chews gum loudly- she wasn't there but I heard through the grapevine (one of the other women) that she lives across the street from the house that exploded on Friday.
Wait. Did I tell you about that? Friday night there were a ton of sirens for a long time and there were reports of a house that exploded up the mountain. An entire house blew up. Everyone was taken to hospitals and will be ok. Whew! Turned out that the house was one that Cait and Tom looked at this summer. The house itself was gorgeous but needed too much work for them to consider it. Gum Chewer was interviewed by several TV stations. I am glad that she was ok too. Crazy news!

My plans for today are to finish the grocery list and deep clean the LR. I lent Scott our stepladder, thinking that I wouldn't need it for a while. Guess what I need just about every day? Short girl problems. Haha!
I have an old, rickety one that is a bone-health hazard to use for now. :thud: I'll be careful, I promise.:giggle4:
The other big thing is to work on b-day cards, 5 of them, one is started, and four more to go.

Hope that everyone has a wonderful day!

@LSlycord Congrats on getting your quilt supplies organized! Do you have a pattern in mind to work on or something started from way back when?

@vickyday ATM, I am not missing Scott too much. He left last Sat. I saw him Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and yesterday. And he'll be here on Sunday again. NOT that I am complaining! ;) It's helpful that one of his parks is around the corner and he stopped in to pick up mail.
Hope you had a fun visit with the girls. How are Carolyn's spirits? I bet that you are helping her to stay positive.
Is Mark's appt tomorrow? Goodluck to him!

@taxed4ever So glad that you are getting rain, hope it helps the lake clear up too. You slept until 8 a.m.?? Wow!! *high fives!*
Any news on the scan appt?

@BrightEyes Hugs to you, it must have been hard to see Jim and Alyn go. Especially since they will be gone for a while ((((hugs))) Safe travels to them!
Oh yeah... Housework can wait for sure, hope you enjoyed puttering about instead. The kits coming out are amazing, this is my favorite time of year for scrapping. ♥

@Cherylndesigns I don't think I ever saw All that Jazz. But I do think of It's Show Time and Jazz hands together. Whether that is in the movie is a different story.
I am really glad that you are getting good time with Marley and I hope that St. Francis is watching over her. I am not religious but being raised Catholic, the Saints always had meaning to me. I was thrilled when the new Pope took that as his name.
I have my grandmother's Saints medals. I never really looked at them individually, I wonder if St. Francis is in there. Now I am going to have to look!

Love to everyone!

Woke up way too early... but couldn't fall back asleep. UGH... So I was up before sunrise. You know the old saying that 'if you leave something somewhere on a trip, you will return'. Well, I fixed my coffee and discovered that Jim had left 2 jars of salsa in the fridge. I am sure they will return but by that time, the salsa will be eaten up!! :floorlaugh:

It was so quiet without them here that I ended up turning the TV on last evening. Watched "Titanic" on Netflix. It won't be on there after Sept 30th. Need to check and see what other movies will be gone by then. Found it is easier to check on my computer than the Smart TV - as I am used to using the computer controls vs Smart TV controls.

Glad the kids were here during the 'best weather' - cool enough to have the house open all day/evening with cool breezes blowing most of the time. It was back to hotter yesterday and closing the house up around noon. <<< sigh >>> Guess "Indian Summer" is back for the rest of this week... mid-to-high 80's again. I did end up stripping the guest room bed and got the sheets washed.... and the towels done yesterday afternoon. Now I need to make the bed up.... ran out of steam before I got that done. Need to do the my bed today.

Darn it... the hands are hurting already so need to close this out. Just know I am reading the posts and thinking of all of you. CYL

Good morning ladies. This is a heavy rain week here. We got about 2 3/4 inches yesterday which means that the lanai is wet this morning. It's better with the gutters that they added. But I am giving up on having an outdoor rug on the lanai! And, now there is a leak in the garage roof. Which means a fight with the builder...but I'll leave that up to Brian.

I'm feeling quite homesick for Syd. She says that she is too busy to come home and I kind of think that is true. So, Brian and I are going to Gainesville to take her to lunch on Saturday or Sunday.

@faerywings I'm glad that you are getting to see Scott. But PLEASE stay off the rickety ladders!!! We do NOT need a broken faery starting our Daily O's. And I have several quilting projects started... I'm going with something small for the next one...thought that I might make a few mug rugs or a small wall hanging. Easing back into this.

@BrightEyes I'm sure it must be very quiet at your place! I'm so glad that your kids were able to stay for such a good long visit. Glad that you can get into the GI doc so quickly. Hope they can get this straightened out for you. That's a lot of weight to lose without knowing the reason.

@taxed4ever so glad that you get to talk to Heather so often. I'm sure that helps her (and you) with the distance between you. Hope you got the appointment for the scan.

@vickyday I love that Ilene gets around the way that she does! I'm sure that Carolyn's day was brightened by having you and Ilene visit!

@Cherylndesigns so glad that Marley is doing better. Every day is a miracle for him! Glad that you are feeling better as well. You have had a lot going on with B leaving and Marley. And I know that Adrienne must be sad...and that is hard too!

Good Morning ladies... Its another rainy day, hopefully after a few more days they will lift the fire ban and the stage 3 water restrictions! My outside windows are so dirty, but we haven't been able to wash anything with a hose for the entire summer, so I have been waiting patiently to get them done :waiting:. Speaking of waiting patiently, I still have not heard about my scan this is complete :bs:! I guess I will have to make a phone call to the office and find out what is going on. I knew that it would take awhile, but it would be nice to know just how long they expect me to wait! I managed to get a layout finished yesterday and will get that posted this morning! The gallery is filled with beautiful pages and I need to to get to commenting on them. Not sure about my hike tomorrow, guess I will see if it is pouring rain or not. Apparently it is one where we could easily hike with an umbrella, we will see. My ergo mouse is helping me quite a bit, but I still have to take breaks from the computer use as my arm still falls asleep once in a while. That reminds me I need to take my pill this morning, I took a stronger dose the night before last and I think that's why I slept until 8am, however my mouth was drier than the Sahara desert and I had dream after dream after dream all night long. So I took Advil instead last night and it seemed to do the trick. I have had my shower and so now I need to go and blow dry my hair. So I will return with personals in a couple of minutes :waving3:

Ok I am back and all dry LOL. I hate sitting with wet hair and if I let it dry on its own, well it just goes wild :giggle4:.

@faerywings - Sorry everyone is feeling soggy, it will be the same here I am sure in a couple of days. Once the rain starts it seems like you can't turn off the tap and it will rain for days on end. I will not complain though, it is so very needed!! I really hope it clears the lake up also!! It would be nice to get out there a few more times before we store the kayaks for the winter. Sounds like you have been doing great with your to do list, WTG!! It will be a busy few days with all those birthday cards you need to make and the party coming up! Please don't use the rickety ladder, we don't want you to be injured!! Thank goodness Cait and Tom did not get that house that exploded, can you imagine??? On second thought, no please don't imagine that!! Hope you get the rest of your cards done today! Enjoy creating!!

@BrightEyes - I can sympathize with the quiet house now that everyone has left!! I still feel sad when I think about saying goodbye to everyone! Yes they will return, but too bad that they forgot your yummy salsa!! Hope you can rest your hands a bit, sorry that they are bothering you too!! I feel your pain literally!! :hug3:

@LSlycord - Wow thats a lot of rain you have gotten! Sorry that your lanai is now wet and that you will be unable to to put out an outdoor rug there. I totally know the feeling of missing your daughter!! How lovely that you will be able to see her for lunch on the weekend! Now you will have to let me know just what a mug rug is ??

@Cherylndesigns - So glad that Marley is feeling a bit better, lets hope he hangs in there and proves the doctors wrong! Glad that you are feeling a bit better too! (((hugs))) .

Ok I better get another coffee and then get the morning chores done! I hope you all have a lovely day! :bye2:

WOW! I've only heard of actual house explosions on some of the cop shows we watch! That would be so scary! And to think it was a house that Cait and Tom looked at! Thank the Lord for steering them clear of THAT house!

I know it HAS to help your momma heart that your Scott is close AND works near you, too! Even if he just stops in for a quick mail pickup.....I would LOVE that!
Had a good time with the girls yesterday. Carolyn is OK while we are there and doesn't want us to leave, of course. Her daughter told me on Saturday when I got there that she was a bit down. She perked up while I was there. I'm sure she feels very humbled by someone else having to help her get a bath, by a stranger no less, get dressed and it must be awful that she has to wear an adult diaper now. I feel so bad for her! She had PT yesterday at 3:30 so we made sure we were out of there before the lady arrived. Then I spent the rest of the afternoon over at Ilene's playing Rummikub. Seems we haven't played all summer! It was a good day!
Yes, Mark begins the "cleanse" today with jello for his supper, LOL! Tomorrow at 12:45 is the appointment for the endo and colonoscopies.

I love that Ilene is able to get around the way she does, too! She has slowed down a LOT over the last 5 years. I hope she never completely loses her mobility the way Carolyn has! She will definitely be depressed! She is a people person, for sure! Yes, Carolyn was very happy for our visit and didn't want us to leave! I will have to make sure I stop in to see her at least once while Ilene is out of town the rest of the week!

It always seems like the doctors don't care how long you wait to hear from them, which is so frustrating! But I'm glad the ergo mouse is helping you! As much time as I have spent working on computers in the last 30 years, I'm very surprise I don't have more problems, but I'm thanking the Lord for that blessing.....for as long as He sees fit to!

Good Afternoon All!
Not much going on with me today. Daily chores are done and Mark's jello supper is in the fridge as he begins the "cleanse" this afternoon at 2. My stomach was hungry today so I just finished a Lean Cuisine chicken Alfredo meal which was very good!
I'm going to check out some of the designer challenges I have not done yet, do some commenting in the gallery, and do some more knitting later on, probably while Mark and I watch TV this evening.
@faerywings I meant to tell you that I fixed up a new batch of nectar on Sunday for my hummers but I have not seen them since Saturday. I'm thinking they may be gone already. I was surprised to hear yours are still around.
That's it for me today!
Have a great afternoon to all! :waving1

Good afternoon all.

Finally getting in here. Chris @faerywings you've been on a roll getting things done! Keep that ball rolling. That is SO bizarre about that house exploding! Sounds really bizarre but glad the people all got out okay and "Gummie" got to be interviewed. Wonder if she chomped on gum while she was doing that? :floorlaugh: Yes, "Jazz Hands" came from All That Jazz. I would LOVE to see that movie again, but haven't been able to find it except on my PC. I may have to watch it there. Oh yes, be sure to look at your grandmother's medals - you might have St. Francis. I'm thinking about getting one for the other dogs too. Back when I got one for our dog, they didn't make them for animals, so I had to get a medal that people wear and put it on his collar. They weren't very big and the jump ring wasn't very strong, so I had to replace them when they fell off and he lost it. I had about a dozen of them. Now, the jump ring is very heavy and stays on their collars.

Trudy @taxed4ever thanks for your good wishes for Marley. We're feeling optimistic and hopeful. I'm sorry you're still waiting on the scan or just a phone call and you're still in pain. :(

Kay @BrightEyes hope you're getting rested up and I know that your house is really quiet.

Vicky @vickyday hoping that Mark gets along ok with his prep tonight - and that his procedure goes well, but most of all you get a good result.

Hugs to all and have a great day.
XOXO

Wow, I just managed to get a Covid appointment for this Friday at my local CVS. Strange thing was I stopped in there about noon and complained to them that I couldn't get an appointment there!!! Came home a few hours later... and a whole bunch of times popped up so I could get registered for an appointment!!! :surprised2: :crying1: dance3 Glad someone got on the stick and released those appt times. I wanted to wait until after my GI doc appointment on Thursday before getting the Covid shot.
