Ugh- my credit card bill is due today- I paid off part of it, now I have to figure out how and if I can off the balance. Its not looking so good ATM. I really need to find another job, I just don't know how/where. Its crappy that I need so much flexibility between drs visits and sick kids/DH and all that.
I guess I should include me, still having tough Lyme days on occasion too;)

But enough of that, worrying about the bills won't solve the issue at 6 am, right?

It is raining here again in NJ, I know that Sally still needs some of that, anyone else like a bit of dreary, cold rain? I had to break down and put the heat on yesterday. With getting my hair done, I was wet and cold. I already had 2 pairs of socks on but couldn't wear my hat.

So yeah, it is soooo cool that my hair-girl comes to my house. It is nowhere near as relaxing as going to a salon, but it saves me so much money. $80 yesterday for foils/cut for me, root touch up and cut for Cait and cuts for both Gary and Scott. And she's really fun too, which makes it nice.

Does anyone have a good tip to share? I can't think of one off the top of my head......

late, late, late for a very important date.... at the bus stop LOL
Quick personals today!

Terry- your retreat sounds like a fab experience!

Jane- awww, how sweet re: YMG! Nice to have some time apart on occasion, I think it makes you appreciate them so much more.

Phyllis- I don't know which would make me feel worse, being called Kiddo or when people call ma Ma'am!

Sally- Every time I grumble about mondays I truly try to think of you!! Caffeine def. helps bunches!

Frani- I am going to check out your blog/tut later today! TFS!!

Isn't that video hysterical?? I told Trudy that the only part they missed was the biting of the toes as you stretch! LOL

Good luck w/ your blood work! My Dr called yesterday and said that he wants to see me- cholesterol was high and my thyroid was off. It always is, but then when I go for the more sensitive test its fine. I test hyper- but my symptoms are hypo- its just weird and I should have warned him. bummer....

Clara- standard dose is 3mgs for melatonin. I take 6 mgs, and IIRC up to 10mgs (for adults) is "safe." One brand makes flavored sublinguals that might make it easier for him.
Happy Nuclear Med week back atcha!!! :D

Frani- good luck w/ your computer!

Maureen- when I was in school and we had to fill in the Last Name, First Name Bubbles, I would always end up being "Christ" instead of christine. maybe that helped my grades inthe end? *giggle*

Laurie-hugs to you... I still think I see and hear harley.....

have a great day everyone!

Morning all - tip for Tuesday- just do it - now, not later. I save so many steps when I remember that. I just ordered MMG birthday gift - he is getting a flagpole! He has one- you saw it in my flag raising photo, but it is broken and requires use of a screwdriver to set it up. So a new one is on it's way. He will be surprised. He spent yday at home, turned his phone off and thinking. Good day for him, he needed that and men don't often do that.

Sunny here Chris, but I will be at work all day. Oh well. I am going to mop tonight. Really I am.

Good Morning lovely ladies.....I woke up early worried about my computer. Took it to work with me yesterday and finished copying necessary files to my EHD, thank goodness I do that periodically anyway, so didn't have too much to backup.

I'm telling you when it rains it pours, literally and figuratively.....got into my car yesterday morning and inserted key....nothing, no click no turning of the engine...nothing....@%&....did that a couple of times....sat there in shock....tried again and it started. Sheesh......went to work and called DH, he asked why the heck I would risk going to work and possibly getting stranded...gee I don't know, maybe it's because I had a ton of stuff to do????? Went out at noon to make sure it would start....it did. That gets me to my computer....did not take it in because I was worried the car wouldn't start....(okay real reason, I just can't let go of my baby).

Called our mechanic (the car mechanic, not the computer guy) when I got home and he's going to take a look at it first thing this morning....yeah!

Update on computer, after cleaning off a bunch of files last night, the computer started faster then normal....I was holding my breath wondering if I was going to have another issue with it, so far so good. Trying to talk DH into another laptop so we have a backup....fingers crossed I can get one this week, once I get it set up I will take this one in for a good workup and cleaning....

Chris it started raining here yesterday love the rain but hated the commute home it took double the time.....hoping you find that perfect job for your situation, there just has too be one out there for you.....HUGs!

does anyone else have experiences like this? i was going downstairs to do some ironing last night. my husband was using my iPad. i said: "when you're done, could you bring the iPad downstairs so i can watch some videos while i iron?"

and he said, "What? like just pick it up and carry it down?"

i stared at him for a few seconds, trying to work out that question in my head. then i said: "no. Fed-Ex it."

now. i freely admit that my husband is a Luddite and techno-NoNo. but what exactly was he THINKING when he said that? it wasn't said in anger or like he didn't want to carry it downstairs. it was a real, honest-to-goodness QUESTION? when i asked him later what he was thinking, he just shrugged and said something like, "i don't know. i was just wondering." :boom:

ah, the minds of men. and they say WOMEN are inscrutable.

better weather at last today. i have to deliver myself to the salon for a haircut (lucky YOU, Chris!) then i might go to the mall for a walk and a 5 Guys burger without the bun.

have a swell Tuesday, everyone!

Good morning all! Off to my yoga class in half an hour, so just sat down to the computer for a few minutes with my coffee.

Chris - Don't send any of that cold, miserable rain our way, we have more than enough here! The cloud is so low, I can't see across the lake this morning.

Frani - Sounds like yesterday was pretty stressful - hopefully today will be smooth sailing! Good to hear you've been able to get your files back up.

Maureen - Good luck with the eye doctor. I'm having the same problem and will be off to see about new glasses next week. The 15 minute tip is a good one. I've been shredding old company paper work and doing it in 15 minutes stints because its sooooo boring!

Phylis - LOL at your man! Guys minds really do work differently than women's.

Eyes still dilated so computer time is out for a while. But seriously Phylis, do you sometimes wonder if you're teaching kindergarten?

My dh might just have been silent for a while during which he would process the question. Honest to god scientific study says true introverts take three minutes to process. Fergodsake...I can be down the stairs and back up while he's still processing! I usually just say...did you hear me? and once I get a yes or no, which I also have to ask for - not just a mumble, I go off and about my business. You're right. It isn't in anger or reluctance. It's truly being on another planet.

btw, that's why they pee on the floor not totally in the toilet also. Another planet!

I totally needed to read this right now, got some (more) bad financial news today and am trying to keep my head together. That helped me more than you know!!!

Chris, know that there is enough out there for you even if it might not seem so right now. I'll also bet that you have enough family and friends that you will never go hungry or with a roof over your heads. <--- your family's heads. I know you only have one.

Once when I was 'between marriages' (!) there was a period I really had $5. to spare each week. I made myself not horde it. I had a relatively good job that just didn't pay that much (govt work you know is not lucrative). I started to panic that I would become a bag lady and many of my friends gave me the same 'talking to'. I know it's hard to believe it will be ok, but know that I believe for you.

I am poking my head in here today, I know I have not been keeping up, have no idea what you've all been up to, and I'm now making my excuses! We have had two birthdays, & one party so far this month. (and it's only october fourth!). The in-laws are here visiting (that's six people in a three-room apartment with one bath), we have two kindergarten celebrations this week, one more party, and then one more birthday this month. Then the English Kindergarten celebration(s). I. Am. Exhausted. There. That's my excuse for being scarce. As soon as October is over, I'll be BACK!!!

hope everyone is well!

always chatty at the O!!
Holla!!! Okay...we were watching Happily Never After 2 and the "damsels" that Snow White hung out with would always yell out "Holla!!" So now I just wanted to say that. LOL!! That movie was absolutely ridiculous. I would NOT recommend it for any other parents.

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in real quick. I've not been the greatest at it lately...even though to some of you I'm in here all the time I feel like I've been here hardly at all. I had this ridiculous job where I essentially got paid to play at Oscraps all day long and so then I would write books in here...but now life kinda gets in the way of my time.

So, I need to run. We are cleaning house. My dad gets here in two days and we have so much to do...plus all that laundry to catch up on. I did make my own fabric softener today. I'm waiting for the first load to get finished up so I can see how it works. I ordered the stuff I need to make my own laundry detergent too. It is hard to find and I didn't want to run all over town looking for it so I just ordered it from Amazon. I can't wait. I just need a 5 gallon bucket with a lid now and I'll be set. Yay!!

Okay...off to go work. Blech!! have a fabulous day everyone. Hugs!!

I am splitting a gut as I read this. But it's not just introverted men that do this. My DH is the socialable one in our family, and he is exactly the same way. As I'm ROTF-LOL-WMP, he hears me out in the other room. So he pops in to hear what I'm laughing so hard about (I know he thinks it's a grandchild story). So I read it to him, and he looks at me with that blank (fake) stare and says he has no idea why I should find that so amusing!!!! STILL ROTF
