Daily Ooo's: Tuesday October 26

The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Tuesday- a bit better than Monday I guess. I was *so* cranky yesterday. No reason why, just "off."
The big highlight of my day was going to the library and picking up a couple of new books.

but today is a new day and I am going to the Spa with my SIL!! The last few years my mom gets my SIL and I a gift cert to a spa and we get ourselves massaged, facialed, mani/pedi'd..... Its a great day. The spa is super-swanky. It was featured on Real Housewives of NJ and Kevin Jonas's wife worked there. ahhhhh! It is a few hours of heaven!!!

Then I will get back home, the kids will be fighting the cats will be peeing and there will be dirty dishes in the sink. But at leat for those few hours I can pretend I am a woman without a care in the world!

Going from the bottom up....;)

Meg- soooo happy for you that you got into a great store!!! Good luck and sell lots!
Your DH is the kind of hunter I appreciate. I have no problem with hunters is they are using good intentions such as being environmentally conscious, using the meat and hides. Its the ones up here that are pushing for the bear hunt which is just for "sport."

Uh-oh.... someone get this soapbox away from me!

Krista- I have to check out your gallery- i am been focusing on non-regular O members and I think I am neglecting the O-Fam....
TGFC!!

Trudy- hope that the weather clears up for you. I have an idea about DH- you should both come down. We can put him to work, we can scrap, my house gets cleaned and yours will stay neat because no one will be there. :peace:

Nana L- at Vicki's "disaster" ITA- I hope that Laurie doesn't have to live through that horror.
Good luck with your kitchen.

My extraction advice: I do what Linda does, but since I have a tablet and pen, it makes the erasing soooo much easier. If you think you are going to be doing a lot of extractions, invest in a tablet. The small ones aren't all that expensive and it makes a huge diff! Its almost kind of relaxing, I get in Zen-Eraser Zone!

Katrina- How old are your kids? I am sorry, I literally remember next to nothing most days. Lyme Brain sucks :(
Anyway, BTDT. I'd like to say it gets better as they get older but now they bicker about how much time they spend texting, emo haircuts, and soon....

Laurie- did you make it through the storm ok? With your history, I don't blame you on not liking lightning!

Going for another cup of coffee, any one need a cup?

oh what a slug this morning- must be the weather. I did do CT layouts and now must get going to get to my last day of work until -Nov 8th- sounds so decadent- weather permitting I will be back on tonight- if not tomorrow before I go!

Jersey girl (faery) what is your name? My kids are 8,9,10! Where in Jersey are you? I'm in MD close to DE border.

Well my dd is sick today so I had to cancel my dr apt. I was getting an uptake and scan (Yay nuke medicine!) for my thyroid. I have nodules and they are benign but they want to make sure they aren't causing my hypothyroid symptoms cause my tsh levels are borderline normal. NO big deal. Wasn't looking forward to swallowing radiation anyway!

I found a good tutorial on how to extract people and it is quite simple. I use my magic wand and then clean up the edges. The whole inverse, duplicate, then erase and paste. It is easier than erasing all the background. If there is a simpler way let me know. I didn't know they still made tablets! I haven't seen them anywhere. Then again I've never been looking for them. I will definitely check it out.

So I'm off to spend the morning with dd and maybe teach her a little scrapping!

Chris -- Ugh yeah, I hate hunters who kill just to kill. My hubby is really focused on hunting in places where the local people are dependent on conservationist hunters for their economy. Like, they need the $$$ hunting tags bring in, and hiring local guides, and then they also receive the meat, etc. When hunting near home, we need the meat!
Have fun at the spa!!!!

Laurie -- Are you ready for your trip? Packed yet? Have fun at work!

Katrina -- the best deal on a tablet I've seen is the bamboo pen & touch refurbished for $64 on amazon, I borrowed one of my bff's tablets a week or two ago -- and LOVED IT! I'm hoping to get mine when I get home. But, I'll mostly be using it for designing. I still liked my mouse for scrapping.

Well, we had a GREAT day doing the Lewis & Clark stops, plus other attractions in the area. We even got up into washington!
On our way home, we stopped in Astoria to split an order of fish and chips... and contact my in-laws. Normally when we're on a trip, my MIL keeps texting us asking how its going... but this time she was oddly silent. Turns out, after my hubby kept pestering to find out what was wrong, my FIL was either laid off or fired from his job. Ughhh!
This is the third time he's be let go in the last three years, and over a year's worth of time being unemployed.
But, I'm actually thankful he's been let go so he can have his body rest and recover from all the hard work he's been doing. My DH & I are going to try to take over more of their expenses for them, as much as we can afford to. We moved in with them because we were anticipating something like this to happen. I just hope my business picks up & my hubby's new business, otherwise we wont be able to cover all of the bills.
Well, headed home today! I'm going to drive all the flat stretches and leave the mountain driving to the DH. I downloaded a lot of episodes of The Paperclipping Podcast to my iphone last night so I'll have some driving company!

Okay....so I am very jealous of Chris today!!! But I am very happy for you sweetie!! YOU DESERVE some pampering.....WHAAA!! SO DO I THOUGH!!

Kitchen deal took all day....today I am putting everything back into place!! Just did not feel like doing it last night!! But countertop is fixed good as new!! YAY!!!

Feeling VERY VERY VERY Blah today.....feeling very underappreciated...blah blah blah...all that jazz.....

I talked to Alison yesterday...she finds out what the baby is going to be on Friday.....I really hope it's a girl....she wants that....I am thinking she probably would not have had another baby if she had a boy and a girl already. But they mostly just want HAPPY AND HEALTHY....

Okay...I am headed off of here....Love to you all!!!!

Morning girlies!!!

Sorry I've been a little silent lately. We had a special guest in for the weekend at our church and had services Fri night, Sat night and Sun morning, then Sun afternoon our pastor and his wife and the special pastor came over with our fam (in laws) and we partied all afternoon with them and then last night we went up to our pastor's house to party again after dinner. It was such a wonderful time of fellowship. When we get those services up on our church web site, I'll let you know, because this guy is a life changer, and his basic topic was Thriving in life, not just Surviving!! We all need a lot of that, huh?? Even if you are not a Christian, this guy just can really inspire!! He actually stayed with us last March during our pastor's conference, so we have a strong bond with him.

So today I have to share my list...it's kinda puny, I think. Ever since that BIG push into the first craft show, I've really been slacking!! ahahahahah!! (yep, it's good for me to relax sometimes!!! teeheee!!):
*Upload new song for music group practice tonight (that includes chord chart and MP3)
*Fix music book
*Study Quilt Market web site to get the most out of Market this weekend
*Go with Mr Gorgeous to buy a new dishwasher (ugh! - to the new dishwasher...not going with Mr Gorgeous!! ahahahh)
*Make three new pumpkins (out of fabric...teeheee)
*Look at my booth with Megan and take her advice if it's good!! LOL!!!

My booth is set up in my living room and I really really love the way it looks, but I love to have another person's opinion. This Sat I have my second show, so I'm stoked about that! Hoping to get enough money to actually purchase something at Quilt Festival next week.

Ohhhhhh and I didn't tell you, my sil's twins are going to be born on the 4th!! That's ONLY a little over a week and a half away!! woooooooohhooooooooooo!! I'm really really excited about that, too!! :)

Yup, I sound like I'm on caffeine...which, of course, I am!! LOL!!!

On to personals, cause i just love you girlies!!!
Nana!!!! I soooooo appreciate you more than you know!!! (now you know!!!) You are such an inspiration to me...so much so, I'll be lifting from your gallery this afternoon for sure!!!! (I saw some awesome LOs in some behind the scenes threads that I may lift secretely!!! LOL!!) LOVE YOU, you awesome Nana, you!!!

Meg, we lived with my in-laws for three years for that exact reason. As a matter of fact there was one month period right before my youngest was born, where no one in the house had a job, but because we had pooled our resources for a couple of years, we all made it through...*sigh* i do love my in laws!!! Now they live less that 0.2 miles away from us, and I LOVE it!!! btw, I LOVED your blog!! Awesome designs, hun!!!

Katrina, first of all, I LOVE homeschooling. I remember you asked me about it (kinda forgot what you asked, sorry!!!!)...I've been doing it since my oldest was 2...she's 16 now! My children are perfect, so it's easy! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH...just kidding!!! LOL!! But it's been a really good year this year, so I like to confess that over them, so it feels easier!! LOL!! If you want to talk more about it with me, I'd be happy to! I'm on yahoo at sallykeller814 or you can email me at sally@sallysangelworks.com. :) Ohhhh and when I was designing, I got tutored by the best in extraction!! Mamma O herself (Vicki, the owner of Oscraps!!!)...She taught me how to use the Pen Tool in Photoshop. It takes a while, but the extractions are perfect when you are done. :) Enjoy, hun!!!

Laurie!!!! Ohhh what a time to look forward to...no work until the 8th!! yay!!! Our weather here hasn't been blah yet...i'm kinda wondering what's up??? It's been in the 90s the last week and a half!! At the end of OCT???????? anyway, enjoy the beginning of your vaca tonight and all that scrapping time!! :) hugs!

CHRIS!!!! SPA DAY!!! yay!!!! I know how much you two really enjoy this day!! You just live it up, hun!! That cat pee can wait!! teeehee!! (that was encouraging, huh?) I love ya, babe!! Ohhh and i have to ask here while I'm thinking of it...what is the latest I can order from Faery-Wings Apothecary and still get it by Christmas? I have several friends including Mark and Pat, our pastors (who you met this summer!! yipee!!) that I want to bless with your fantastical products!! hugs!!!

And to everyone, Krista, Clara, Trudy, and all who don't post here or do post or whatever...i love you all!! :)

Morning Ladies!!!! Wow I am super late getting on here this morning. Reason being...I slept until almost 9:00am I could not believe the time when I woke up!!! I haven't had a great  like that for a long time. It might have been because I took two nightime tylenol cold tablets before bed. I am fighting off DH's cold that he has had for almost two weeks now. (thanks for sharing DH!!)

Chris - Bet you don't want my hubby and I to come visit you now?? But that does sound like it would be a good time! :thumb: Can we go to the spa if I come for a visit?? Hope your day of pampering is devine!!

Laurie - Last day of work for awhile, yippee!! Lucky you, bet you are so looking forward to it!!

Katrina - I also use a bamboo tablet and I just love it, don't think I could live without it now, it does make extraction work so much easier and precise!! Hope you can find a good deal on one! Christmas is coming, perhaps a good gift from your hubby??

Meg - On your way home already? Boy the time flys when you are on vacation !! How great that you are willing to help out your in-laws!! I love my in-laws too, but we only live a few miles apart so we get to spend lots of time with them.

Nana Linda - Glad your countertop is good as new! Saw your work in the gallery last night Dang Girl you are good!!!

Sally - You're list might sound like it's short to you, but it sounds pretty long to me!! It is wonderful that you can fit all that into your day! Shopping for a new dishwasher isn't much fun, but at least you get to do it with your Mr. Gorgeous!! My hubby is on a course over on the mainland for a few days (perhaps that's why I had such a good sleep?? No snoring??)

Clara, Krista where are you??

hey ladies. i'm hanging out in minneapolis at the moment in the airport no less. whoohoo. we missed our connection due to weather. then i boohooed at the counter and got some food vouchers so we ate at tgi fridays instead of mcdonalds. yay. now we are at the kids play area for a bit. still have a couple of hours to kill.

last night my brother and his wife were leaving so i was telling addie she had to say bye and so she drove away from me in her pretend car...little twerp. poor ethan totally lost it in the security line today. fortunately there was a chair off to the side so i got some bins and sat down and we took our time getting ourselves together and he could cry in my lap for a few minutes. then on the plane he cried saying he just wanted to stay in washington. he is so sensitive. that's what i love about him. well, i would love to do personals but it is hard to do from my phone. once i am back in NC i'll be more on track. love you guys.

hey everyone- storms blew through while I was at work- half my caseload canceled today and I still managed to fill the day- stopped at the library and tomorrow I have to take the car in, get money, get gas, cancel the mail- even with a house sitter (he is forgetful) and do last minute house pick up- not packed yet.

Sally- I hope you got a great dishwasher- my new one has both turbo zone for nasty dishes (and it works) and also I can do just top rack with my few dishes every night and lower it so plates fit- love it!

Clara- my storms were your storms hope you make it home safe

Meg- happy driving- I'll be doing riding tomorrow

Nana- hope your day went well

Katrina- can't wait to see your extractions

Trudy- wonderful that you could sleep in- I will try on vacation!
