I am not adjusting to the time change as well as I thought I was yesterday. Although I'm doing better than my dogs who don't understand why they aren't getting breakfast at 6 am LOL The last two nights, I have woken up at 3.30 am instead of 4.30 am. If anything thinks that might be fun-- it is *not!* My idea of living on the edge is getting a nice, solid 7 hours of sleep.

It was another dry-as-a-bone day here in NJ. But--- *fingers and toes crossed* -- there is a chance of showers this Saturday. Please let that happen. :prettyplease:
Yesterday afternoon, I spent some time outside, raking leaves and sweeping them off the patio. Everything is so dry they won't stay in one place. I usually rake them into the backyard or side yard into the woods. *Usually* the rain will pack them down and the majority stay put. It was pretty warm out there when the sun was out. When I went for a walk with my friend before dinner, the clouds and wind made it feel much colder. I wasn't prepared for that change but I better get used to it. One thing I have to do- and soon- is get my gloves and cold-weather gear ready for work. I've been able to ignore it so far. 70* today and tomorrow. In November. Eeep.

Today is the new HS session and I have 5 kids signed up for Tuesdays. No one has signed up for Thursday yet but I am pretty sure that one family will sign up. Either way, I am about as ready to go as I can be.

I am excited for dinner tonight- Tom is cooking vegan Philly cheesesteaks and they are so darn yummy. I made a vegan chorizo garlic cream pasta last night that was also really good. Gary has been cracking me up, he has been pleasantly surprised at how good all of the vegan meals have been. He made vegan penne and vodka the other night and said it was just as good as his "real" recipe.

Good thought request for Tom--
He is meeting with a local tattoo shop owner to see if he could get some hours there. The place he has been at is an hour from here and doesn't always give him the opportunity to expand his reach. This shop also doesn't have a piercer so maybe they would want him for that too. Thanks for any good thoughts you have

Wishing all of you a wonderful, peaceful, and calm day ahead. (yes, I am 100% ignoring the elephant in the room :lalala: )

Hugs!!

@BrightEyes You can keep the snow, but if you want to send some rain this way- I'd appreciate it! Hope you were able to stay warm and dry yesterday.
WTH is going on with doctors and pharmacies lately? My parents, my ILs, and Gary- all have had some PITB experiences in the past week. Sheesh! Hope the weather cooperates on Thursday so you can get your meds safely.

@BoatLady I would love to move to your neighborhood and join your club. Hope you had a wonderful day with the Pool Ladies.
I do not have any ketchup bottle ones so you are safe there but not sure what Eva will come up with. I'll warn you when I post my page so you won't have to look.
:rotfl: I appreciate it. And nope, I don't want to think what Eva could do with a ketchup-shaped button. :eek3:
How wonderful it would be to see Amy and Bella on your next trip. Have you met a lot of SGs IRL?
So many good luck vibes to your G-DD. I had a boss (preschool director) like that and she sabotaged everything I was doing as a teacher. I ended up quitting, gave my two weeks and that was that. I was rehired by the same company at a different center- and I was offered the director's position even though I turned it down., My commute was 20 minutes longer each way but so worth it not having to deal with the old boss.
Life is too short to take abuse every day.
I'm probably not as cautious as I should be with my osteo diagnosis.....obviously since I just suffered another fall, LOL!
I have noticed that since the last fall, I am watching every step I take when I am outside, especially while in the woods! Those tree roots will get you every time! ;)
Roots and rocks! Northern NJ is notorious for rocks. Lots of glacial deposits and they come out from nowhere.
Such a relief that your wrist is doing better too. My brother and I are always trying to get our parents to bring their phones with them-- and turned on- but they don't think of it or can't be bothered. I'm glad that you are trying!
Good luck working on the devotions, you will be awesome!

Debby- I have rolled on the acorns too and they are a big reason I hike with a walking stick.

I had another busy weekend of running errands with my DH and cleaning the house from top to bottom yesterday, also got all the laundry done and even had time to scrap a couple of calendar pages! Yay me!! 5 pages completed only 7 more to go LOL.
:woohoo: What a productive weekend! You are on a roll! I hope the weather is dry for your hike tomorrow.
You keep the buttons on your side of the continent, please. ;)

Clean the house, the mind will follow. Thats what I do and it helps. If my house is a mess so is my mind and I cant sit peacefully.
That is the truth! I spent some time inside putting stuff away that was getting in my way, then I went outside to do the same :D
When my brother had a long commute he put winter tires on his car but i remember how $$ it was. Now he works from home 3 days and commutes 15 minutes the other days- and drives a Subaru ;)
I am also dreading my 2 hour PT test Tuesday. I forget what they call it but its like a quality of life test. Can I do what is "normal" for someone my age or is my lipedema effecting my life and stopping me from doing things.
I am soooo sorry you have to do this. When Gary applied for disability, he needed to do something similar. It was really hard on him psychologically. It is so ingrained to be "strong" and not let physical limitations hold you back. But if you do that, then you get screwed on the other side. Good luck today, I am thinking of you ♥

((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))) Jeanne. We are here for you!

@Cherylndesigns - is Chris Arts's code in the CO forum? I wanted to use one of her kits for the artist challenge but since our regular Code didn't work, I used my stash.

@Terri M Fruit flies live 50 days??? I thought they were just multiplying rapidly LOL
Mayflies-- 24 hours. That's more like it.

Kay- hope that the last round of abx does the trick, coughs always last much longer.

Cheryl- I see that whatever codes you had didn't work, so never mind my question!
My goodness, the weather by you is dreadful- please stay safe and dry! Snuggle in tight with Daisy and Sam ♥

time to start my day! xoxoxo

Morning, all. Maybe I am adjusting to the time change better... slept in until 7AM!!! :yesss: Got my coffee and looked out the window to see... nothing ..... o_O,,,,, dense fog!!! I can barely see the houses across the street!! We have lived here for 24 years and have only had fog maybe 2-3 times. It is suppose to fade away around 9 or 10 this morning. I was used to fog when we lived in the San Diego area and Corpus Christi. I will wait until it burns off to run my errands..... and I have a bunch to do. Hope my stamina holds up to getting them all done.

The rain/snow here in the valley yesterday was mainly rain with a few snowflakes mixed in. But the roads in the northern part of the state especially in the mountains really got hit. I-25 crossing into Colorado was closed for several hours. @faerywings - wish I could send the rain to your area.

@JeanneMN so sorry about your family issues. Sending you lots of love.

@Cherylndesigns Hope you have your TV working now. How scary it must have been to have something hit close by. I saw where there was lots of tornados in Oklahoma. I should check with DD#2 (near Branson) to see if their area got hit.

I see the sun is starting to peek through... so need to get dressed and ready to head out soon. BBL

I'm glad to hear some of you are getting rain. My sister in the St Louis area says she's had 9.5" since yesterday afternoon. While we are very dry, and could use the rain, I definitely don't want to go out building trail bridges again, so 1", not 9", please.

The house next door, which is empty and up for sale, has been getting a new roof. This is the third day in a row for hour after hour of banging. It looks like they might finish today; I sure hope so.

Yesterday I had a 4:00-5:30 meeting which ended in the dark. I want daylight saving time back!

Good thought request for Tom
You got 'em

Roots and rocks! Northern NJ is notorious for rocks.
Worse rocky trail I ever hiked was in the Delaware Water Gap, up to Sunfish Pond. Holy cow, I thought my feet would fall off. That hike was memorable because there was a trail sign in the middle of nowhere that showed the direction to Appalachian Trail in one direction, and to I-80 in the other. Strange juxtaposition.

I will wait until it burns off to run my errands.
I love that being retired means I don't have to drive when it's iffy. Fog is the worst - very scary

Good Morning everyone! It is not raining today and the wind has stopped, but you should see my back yard and deck :holysheep:. It looks like Mother Nature threw up all over the place :giggle4:. We are going to have a lot of cleaning up to do when it dries up back there. I got another Calendar page done yesterday afternoon and got to get out for a walk in the sunshine at around 3pm when the wind finally settled down a bit. The wind storm did a lot of damage on the Mainland, trees falling all over the place onto rooftops and cars parked on the street, it is sad to see those giant trees being uprooted like that! It should be a nice quiet day here and I hope to pop out a couple of local stores to see if I can find a new duvet cover for the spare bedroom. Our son is going to be here on the 12th and is staying for a few days, so I would like to have something nice and new on that bed for him. We are very excited to have him to ourselves for a bit!! :dancing6:. Not much else going on here, hoping the weather holds out for my hike tomorrow!

Good thought request for Tom--

Sending all of my good thoughts Tom's way!! It would be so great for him to have a job so much closer to home!! Sounds like he is also an amazing cook, lucky you guys!! How great that you both are enjoying the vegan meals so much! Praying for some rain for your area, it is crazy that you haven't had rain in such a very long time! Enjoy your work today, I know that you will, you are in your Happy Place and that is wonderful!! My DH really wants me to get heated gloves for my hikes and perhaps a heated vest too, who am I to argue with him LOL. I think Costco sells very nice heated gloves, so we will look when we go there this weekend.

How great that you got such a good sleep last night Kay! It's always a shock to see the heavy fog roll in, but glad that the sun is shining through for you already this morning! Sometimes it never burns off for us and stays around for days on end, I hate that! Thankfully it hasn't happened yet this year! Hope you are able to get all your errands done today!
The house next door, which is empty and up for sale, has been getting a new roof. This is the third day in a row for hour after hour of banging. It looks like they might finish today; I sure hope so.
Sounds like this empty house will sell soon with a new roof on it! My DD has been dealing with the same constant banging as the couple next door are doing some major renos, hopefully it quiets down for both of you very soon!

Ok my cup is empty and I am in need of another jolt of caffeine before I get going with my day. Have a great Tuesday everyone! Waving hello to all of you that pop in today! :waving3:

Yes, this is it exactly. I have to fail yet I feel compelled to try. But if I do super great I wont get the surgeries I need. Its a catch 22. But I feel down a spoon and as long as I talk about how it hurts and what aches as I do each thing it will help show that I cant do it without pain and discomfort. We shall see.
I'm glad to hear some of you are getting rain.
Wish I could send you and Chris some rain. We're suppose to get more rain today.:angry4: NOT okay in November in Alaska. NO rain! It already 35* and the sun isn't even up. This is crazy yucky weather.

Today will be busy, what else can I do? Grab coffee and go! Gotta let the dogs in, they're smacking the door.
Have a great day!

Morning all,

I guess the time change bit me last night. I was awake about every hour - UGH. Of course, I was finally sleeping good about 7 so I didn't get up until 10:30. I woke up to a crazy group text from my family. Today is Cam's birthday plus it's election day and everybody is chattering like we all do. I finally had to get up and get my glasses on so I could catch up. :floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

Chris, good thoughts to Tom with the possible new job. An hour drive each way to work sucks. Glad you are all (even Gary) loving the vegan meals. We had some wicked weather last night, I saw later that there were some touchdowns over on the lake, which isn't very far from us.

BBL Need caffeine.

I wanted to listen to it in the background. My TV in my bedroom is working fine, but I can hear the TV in the LR better.

I hope your DD escaped damage. We were lucky - it apparently blew right over us and touched down not too far from here. We knew it was going to get bad because it got as dark as night. Hope the fog has lifted for you by now.
