Annnnnd....... I am back to complaining about how cold it is. 22* Everything that was wet and slushy yesterday is now a block of ice. We all took turns "shoveling" the driveway and clearing off the cars, it was too heavy to do more than small sections at a time. I needed my heat pack after dinner. Thankfully, I am only slightly stiff today, maybe a tiny bit over my baseline.

Other than doing the shoveling, I don't; think I did much of anything, My prediction of "95% chance I will spend hours untangling a ball of yarn" was quite accurate. I don't have any idea what I even going to use the yarn for it has become a project that has to get done. Has to. *shrugs* Don't ask me why, it is just one of those things :D

I started to scrap a LO for the Momma O challenge. I was trying to use a photo of myself and I am just so unhappy with how it is coming out. I closed that up and will give it another try today. I am not good at scrapping about myself, not at all.
I might just trash the entire LO and start over, let's see what my mood is like when I open PS *wink*

I am off to pick up my groceries this morning and then not much of anything else is going on. I am making pumpkin soup for dinner, Scott is going out with his cousin when she gets off of work. He doesn't like soup so I try to time that when he isn't around just like I try to time meat for when Caitlyn is not home. We were invited to Tom's mom's for dinner this Sunday and she asked about our food preferences, esp Gary since he has diabetes. We had to laugh, if she can cook for Tom, then we have nothing special needed.
I am making the breadsticks again so worst case scenario we can fill up on them :D

Have a wonderful day!!

@LSlycord 43* must be frigid for you. We got up to 36* yesterday and it was 'warmish" to be out there shoveling in that.
Sorry about the dumb diet. You will see the results and be so happy when you are having a blast on your vacation!! It is going to be so worth it! *cheers you on*

@tanteva when you are back, you are *back*- 4 pages!! Good for you! I saw the one of Discord, my goodness, he is a cutie. I have only done progressive scraps a few times. I think my biggest problem what trying to do it on someone's else time frame. If I am not feeling creative, then I can't do anything at all and like it, which is what was happening yesterday. But you had fun and that is a big part of it :)
Did you redo the pantry yesterday? I don't mind working in the pantry, it is the fridge and freezer I hate dealing with. Especially the freezer. brr.
That shop sounds cool- hope you get everything in time for fredagsmys - that is my kind of weekend winter activity!

Linda-- what?? People leave their dogs and don't come back?? It shouldn't;t shock me I mean, people leave their pets at shelters or out in the wild. It's just not anything I can comprehend, especially at a doggy spa. GD's are beautiful, the big dogs always seem to be. I used to clean for a woman who had an Irish Wolfhound and that dog--She was such a mush. A very heavy mush LOL

@BrightEyes I think that reading and relaxing is just what you need, under a cozy blanket possibly? Maybe a hot drink to go with? Hope that you and your family are good
I love the mini-tutorial for the frame, the effect is fab!
I have learned the hard way to not declutter when my brain is not in a good place. *nods wisely*

@bcgal00 Is today the day that B gets admitted? Good luck! I hope that they can help her, I can not imagine how stressful it is when she gets triggered. :(
Nice work, D, on the shoe stand!!

@taxed4ever WTG on all of the food prep!!! That will make things much easier on you. It really is unfair that men lose weight so much faster than women. But you will get where you need to be.
Poochy is such a fun name!! I hope they send you lots of pictures to scrap.
How much snow did they end up getting, I heard some parts of New England got a foot of snow. (yuck)

One thing that the Food Pantry here does is when they shop, they catch the meat when it is discounted (not sure if they are notified when that happens) and freeze it immediately. I can tell when they have done that because it has the discount label on it. But I bet that doesn't make a dent in the amount of stuff that gets thrown out. Restaurants too. Its maddening.

@Cherylndesigns If it *has* to snow, that is the only way it should be done, a dusting, get some pretty pics and then *gone* :p
Thx for liking my clustering, it will never feel "natural" to me but what can you do? Not every LO can be nothing bu paint splats (or can they???)

@Kythe glad that you were able to try the chicken recipe! Have you been able to get any pics of the hummingbirds? I never have been able to do that, my hands shake and I am too slow.

@mom2triplets04 hope that the roads are dry, be careful if you have to head out, I am sure that there is a lot of ice.
Homebodies is a good way to be (IMHO! haha!)
How was your dinner? They both look very good.

I make this dish: Crispy Honey Sesame Tofu I make one batch with chicken and one with tofu. I think you might like it-- when you are able to get chicken that is.

HAGD! xo

It's freezing...almost literally...this morning. It was 35* when I got up. The house was 67*. I immediately turned on the furnace. It's just way too cold!

@faerywings I agree...couldn't believe that people would leave their dogs at a spa. But I can't believe a lot of things anymore. And, yes, the diet will be worth it. Just need to keep reminding myself of that.

@bcgal00 good that your husband is taking on projects around the house now that he is retired. Glad that you got to see B for awhile before noticing the triggers. Hopefully the tests this week provide some real direction.

@taxed4ever so glad that the boys love Poochy! And 5 pounds is good for a beginning for your husband. Glad that you got a couple of pounds off as well. Yes, if we could warm up a bit, I'd turn the pool heater on and add some pool aerobics to my daily agenda. That would help. I do like Keto---well I don't like it---I don't like anything that limits my eating. LOL That's how I got here. But I do believe that it works well.

@Cherylndesigns I could live with a little dusting of snow that made for cool pics and then started to melt the next day. That's perfect for a scrapbooker! ;)

@Kythe I love your description of a walk...not a fast walk, but a short walk. Love watching hummingbirds...definitely prefer that to walking.

@mom2triplets04 that teriyaki chicken looks good. And the supply chain strikes again and you have no chicken! That would just about put me over the edge.

Have a good day everyone. I have a To Do list for the day....wish it was one of @tanteva's Ta Da lists instead.

Good Morning all! Its raining again :( . Oh well at least its not snow! Our family in Ottawa saw almost 50cm of snow yesterday, that's over a foot and 1/2 of snow in one day, Ugh!! Glad that they were all home and not on the road. Our son Jason got his snowblower out and did most of the cul de sac that they live on, it took him over 2 hours. I bet he was tired after that! Heather's boys got a snow day yesterday too. They did not get as much snow however. Mason and Hunter were happy to be home with the new puppy! I think that I posted that the puppy was part Shirpa and part Cocker Spaniel, but that was not correct. He is part Shiba Inu and Cocker Spaniel, so he is a "Shocker". When I looked at a photo of Shiba Inu it made much more sense! Oh dear the kids are calling, so I gotta run, but will be right back!

Yesterday I ended up sorting last year's folders and get the 2022 folders set up. Took several hours of winnowing out old receipts from grocery, gas, etc that I didn't need to keep.... plus sorting the must save items into the right folders. Got the folder for tax info ready. So nice to see the countertop clean with the new folders in the stand. And I dealt with some family stuff during the sorting out of folders. A few of us had a video family chat last evening. Haven't had one since before Christmas... so was good to their faces as we talked.

I also made a quick trip out to pick up a box of the N95 respirator masks in the late afternoon. The store had 78 boxes when I checked on Sunday and only had 10 boxes when I checked yesterday - so knew I should go before they were sold out. Must admit that they fit much better than the ones I have been using.

Glad you all liked my mini-tut on framing a masked photo. I had learned how to do that several years ago from a designer I worked with. Many of the designers now have a framed - masks in their collection. Once you see how it is done... it is easy to adapt it when you need to add a frame to a masked photo.

Call coming in from family. CYL

No pantry cleaned in this house. I ended up doing genealogy research today. And that can keep you busy for hours ... and then you have like ZERO proof of it. LOL I've got it into my head, that I have to find if I'm related to one of my childhood friends. We both are from this town, since generations - we have to be related some way! I've found that I'm related to many other that I went to school with. I just WANT to be related to this friend - it would mean so much for both of us. So ... now I'm doing research on her family, hoping to pop into some familiar names in her ancestry. Nerdy, huh? LOL

Have you seen reginafalango's new kit??? Is it amazing or what????!! Made a layout today - just wanted to ask, do you think I made the correct estimate? I was born in March 1967, and I've guessed that this photo is taken sometime early 1969 (given the weather & how old I look). Do you think I'm right when I write that the photo is taken in 1969? So hard to estimate my own age.

At least the photo is proof I was cute once LOL

No plans for tomorrow, and on Thursday I'm back at work. I just hope I remember everything, haven't been there in over a month! Also, hoping I'll survive ... it will be a long day - working 9.45 to 6 ... I will be exhausted. Gee ... I've hardly crawled out of bed as early as that in over a month. LOL

No time to chat this morning. Spent the last hour chatting with Jen about B, she triggered badly last night and the caretakers weren't able to give B her insulin, she refused, she was angry and sad and refused to be touched. So it is escalating and if the unit isn't able to tweak the meds and calm her down, tamp down her paranoia, then she might not be going back there when she gets out of the TBI unit (she went this morning). Things are really up in the air right now. Prayers and good thoughts are appreciated. Poor girl. My heart breaks for her.

Bella comes at 7 am tomorrow for 3 days as Jen accompanies the TBI transport van back and forth to the other hospital for testing each day. They have staffing shortages b/c of covid which is why they are allowing Jen to come along, to keep an eye on B.

I'm getting to work now b/c I don't dare fall behind, I'm going to be so busy with the dogs. Have a good day everyone.

Ok back for a few personals...
@faerywings - I don't blame you for complaining about the cold! It is awful when it turns so cold after a snow! This winter seems to be the worst one we have all had in a long time! I got a layout done yesterday too, however I was quite happy with it for a change. Hope you can get yours to look the way you want. It is hard to scrap about yourself, but it can also be very therapeutic! Especially if you do lots of journaling, I find it very freeing to get those feelings put down in writing! I do have some photos of the new fur baby, now to get busy and actually get a page or two done LOL. How nice to be invited to Tom's for supper! I hope that you have a lovely time! Good luck with your grocery order today, I hope you get everything you need!

@LSlycord - Brrr so cold for you as well! Who would have thought that Florida could get that chilly?? However I do remember when we went to DisneyWorld on year we got up and it was freezing!! Poor Heather had to get some gloves to wear as we wandered around Disney, she was on her scooter and her poor hands were so cold! That was in January, many years ago. I had to laugh about you not liking being limited to what you can or can not eat. I used to be that way, but I have been Keto for so long now, food just is not that important to me anymore. No cravings, not ever really hungry either.

@BrightEyes - Great that you got to purchase the new masks! I have heard that they are so much better than the others! I see many wearing them here as well. I think that is what my DH has to wear at work, perhaps he can bring a few home for me as well. Nice to have all that de-cluttering done, its always nice to have a neat clean space!

@tanteva - Yes I did see that beautiful kit, I might have to check it out further! Love your page that you made with it! What a little cutie pie you are! If you think that is the year that this photo was taken then I guess you are probably right, who are we to judge LOL. I hope you find out the info you want in your research! I have zero patience when it comes to that sort of thing!

@bcgal00 - Oh Rae, my heart breaks for poor B and for all of you! I sure hope that they are able to help her out more! So sad she has been through so much! I am sending you all gentle hugs today!

Ok off I go to start up a batch of bone broth. I was supposed to do that yesterday, but of course got side tracked and did a layout instead. Have a good day everyone! Send some prayers to @bcgal00 and family today!

Well, I finally made it. It seems that I've been signed on all night. GAH - I seem to do that quite often.

It's 62 here - not bad for the middle of January. If it stays this nice, I'm going to walk tomorrow. I've been too lazy today, but if it stays this way, I'll start. I've been listening to "self-help: audio books for the last 2 days. I've been really "wired" lately and decided to turn off the TV and all the negative input. I told Chuck if anything earth-shattering happens, he has to let me know. I felt a lot of withdrawal yesterday and the day before, but I'm doing better today.

Kay @BrightEyes I haven't watched your tut - but I will.

Chris @faerywings I'm sure your picture looks better than you think it does, but I know what you mean. Sometimes I just can't get something to look right.

Hope everybody is doing well.

Thanks, Kay! It's very nice to find out how you created this. I don't know how I missed it - like I said I've been a "little scattered" lately. LOL I'm working on that. I'm listening to Book 2 of "The Artist's Way". It's very good!

went to the doctor today for a follow up from Sept. I had high blood pressure in Sept so they stopped my birth control pill. Which now put me into menopause. Great! Night sweats. My pressure is fine but now I have to get this herb thing to help with the night sweats because I'm not sleeping very well. Waking up every 2 hours. The other option is some other type of drug which causes breast cancer. Like really?

today's meal is baked meatballs and spaghetti with quick tomato sauce.

Myla went to puppy camp today and played with bigger dogs so she came home tired and is napping now.

@faerywings the teyakki chicken turned out good. Even the brussel sprouts hubby ate but he preferred the ones I made last time with parm cheese better. @LSlycord this world is crazy with the shortages all over. Yup our store had no chicken or tissue papers. It's like they want us to hoard again

Yesterday's entertainment was watching the humming bird and my new friend.. squirrel. He was busy in the hedge foraging, running away and back again for another load of whatever. I do not encourage the things as they can nest in the attic and cause trouble. But watching it was interesting. The hummingbird comes at the same time each day, mid afternoon but today I saw it as I headed out for my walk. Unfortunately I scared it off but I am not waiting for a bird especially if I don't go when planned I end up not going or walking the the rain.. which isn't going to happen.
No hummingbird photos. I would have to shoot through the window which never turns out well.

I make teriyaki chicken quite often. It is also good over a bed of sauteed zucchini or bean sprouts. We figured out it is gluten and certain veggies that triggers hubby's discomfort so a diet adjustment is in order. We will see how that works out.

@faerywings I'm with you when it comes to scrapping about myself. I don't really have anything to say about me and not a lot of photos either. Taking photos was expensive back when I was young and in my 20's-50's we weren't really camera people. Now it is photos of others not me. This Christmas not a single photo was taken. I was too busy in the kitchen and hubby was yakking it up with the kids. Which is weird as he is the one with the proffessional quality camera etc. All collecting no using. lol

@BrightEyes Good to hear you got some good masks. You can never be too safe. The thing I dislike most about masks is that they fog up my glasses which I wear all the time. Even the ones that fit tightly seem to keep me in a perpetual fog so I am constantly putting them on and taking them off while in a store otherwise I can't read the labels. lol

Stay safe everyone.
