Why isn't it Wed? It sure feels like a Wed to me?

Can I just say how happy I was to clean someone else's house?????? I walked out of there, extremely pleased with myself. I was cleaning the ex-husbands workshop/furnace room. lots of cobwebs in the rafters, and dust everywhere. But I swept it all out, arranged the stuff on the shelves all evenly, and what a difference!
She also told me there if I saw anything that Gary or I needed to take it. Anything left there by the ex was free game. There was a Craftsman set of die cutters (don't ask, I have no idea!) and drill bits. Plus I took a bunch of spray paint ( I love spray paint!), some wood filler, gasket sealers, adhesives etc. I brought home two shopping bags full and Gary was like a kid on Christmas.

I got home to find boxes of old paperwork in the LR and Gary in the attic. He called SSA about the Disability Award letter but noticed that his records show that he paid nothing in for 1990. Which wasn't the case. SSA said that he needs to find either a Tax Return form or a W-2 to update it. That was before we were married and I have my old paperwork but we could find his- until 1992. We were married in 93, so that makes sense since we bought a condo in 93 and would have needed that info.We found his parents income tax forms from 1990 and 91 which I REALLY have no idea why he would have them.
Of course, now I know who held our very first mortgage if that ever comes up on a security question LOL I also realize that I save everything paperwork-related. I can toss knick knacks, pieces and parts w/o a problem, but papers, I guess you never really do know when you will need them.heh.

In the afternoon, I scrapped 3 LO's for the March challenges. One just needed shadows so really only 2.01 LOs' I really dislike them all. Mojo has flopped again.

Did I tell you that my niece and goddaughter got accepted by Rutgers and committed?? Soooooooo happy for her and *really* happy for BFF. Niece had been looking mostly at U of South Carolina, and had also been accepted into Michigan State. BFF was having a hard time thinking of her being that far away. She and her DD have a close relationship like Cait and I have. But after visiting Rutgers a couple of times, meeting people on FB, she committed over the weekend and is so happy. She has a roommate and everything already. She will be about an hour away from home, and no car, so won't be coming home "just b/c" but she is a social butterfly on steroids so she is not going to want to come home. :)

BFFATS is down in FL with her DD looking at Central Fl State (or something like that!). She is going into Hospitality and since that school is in Orlando, they have good connections for internships. But her first choice is U Mass and I think this trip will help her finalize her decision.

All that said, I am thrilled to not have to be doing all that! Cait had Scott trying to not bust out at the seams the other night at dinner when she said that she might like to move out in a couple of years. He knows more than she does at this point what tuition/books/car maintenance costs and he lives at home, rent free. I thought his eyes were gonna pop out of his head and across the room  LOL

Today I have to fix tech. All of it is screwed up and I need Gary to help me. Blergh!

Hope everyone has a frustration-free day (esp. me!!!)
xoxo

Nancy- A spy museum, that sounds fascinating! I have never been to DC and would love to wander the Smithsonian and other historical places. Some day.
Have you ever watch Turn? It's on TNT maybe? We watched on Netflix- about the spies in the Rev War. Interesting show. Right now we are watching Vikings on Amazing and seeing the warriors on those boats- wouldn't catch me out there on the seas like that!
The Memorials must be so somber.
I hope that the lady starts a dog play group- how awesome would that be for Luther. Jaida has been a manic inside- I swear that she has spring fever.

Trudy!! that your grands tried to pull a Fake Sick on you!!! Don;t they know that you have BTDT and are onto those tricks? So cute! Hope the weather warms up for you.

Time to get the car warming- TTYS!!!

Morning! So it was back to the books last night ... and will be during lunch today, tonight, tomorrow ... and then. Exam. Kind of 50:50 on whether I'll pass or not - it's a LOT of information. Last night's reading: globalization and managing an international workforce, offshoring vs. outsourcing, multinational, global, transnational and international companies - and the differences between all of them! My head is spinning! LOL

So a quiet retreat to the office this morning. Ha! Looking forward to dabbling in some spreadsheets this morning - how sad is that?! It's raining (and will be all day), and I have the softest-eva! hoodie on ... can I just curl up in a quiet corner? Nobody else is here, they won't know.

Chris, yay for the ex's haul that you walked away with! I'm sure there's quite a few things in there that Gary will be able to use for his Halloween creations ;)

good morning! It is gray this morning and the rain is coming and I am not looking forward to that at all. Yesterday Luther made me so proud. Out on our walk we met a family with kids in strollers and Luther did not bark or jump and actually sat and did some of his tricks so that was awesome, then we met another little dog and they played for a bit. Then I went out to dinner with my girlfriend and her daughter and they came in to see how Luther has grown. Well he did not jump, bark, gave lots of love and again he preformed all his tricks. It does me good to see him behave so well. Then I took Anna new class. It was very interesting. I will be playing with it today. I have a hockey game this evening against our cross-town rival the Rangers. My team is on a losing streak while the Rangers are on a winning streak so I am not thinking my team will win. Watching the teams play each other is very stressful LOL I should not be taking this so seriously!

Chris so glad that in this morning post you did not mention any pains this morning! That is awesome and so glad you are doing so much better! And how fun to be able to go shopping in the Ex work space. I am sure that Gary will be happy!

Kat since you are studying again I am going to assume that you were able to reschedule the test and not be charge more money! good luck!

Have a great day all!

Three cheers to me for not throwing my cell phone across the room! What a freaking mess! I am re-installing apps and what not one by one, I have no idea what is what any more and the Google Play app stops working for no reason. :frusty:
Any who knows if any of this is even going to work when I am done. :noidea:

So back to where I was before I had to drive Cait to school...

Monday:

Trudy- I bet your DS and DIL will want to come back, at least just to grab the kids and return. I was telling Caitlyn that her cousin was staying in-state for college and how I wouldn't want her to go that far. Said that I could deal with NY or PA but that was as far as my tether would go. Unless it was the Bahamas but she would have to bring me. :D
Jaida has caught the Spring Fever Bug and all she wants is to be outside. But today is cold and the school called and Early Dismissal. I saw the pic of Storm and Isaac! Cute!!!!

Kat- aaaaaahhhhhhh!! :rollpin: Dirty dishes are one of my serious peeves esp since I am the one that ends up getting annoyed and doing them on my own. At least when I go on strike with the laundry, it is out of sight for the most part.
Sorry to hear the loss of a dependent. I feel like I should keep spittin' out kids just to keep that on. (Physical impossibility, less than the financial impossibility FYI *wink*)
Bet you cannot wait to go on vacation!! I know that I would be. Esp now that I read your next post RE: Cert exam! You got this!!

xo...
and back to work I go...

Good morning, ladies. Just popping in to say hi. I have lots to do this morning and need to get at it. Last night was a sad night. I was in the middle of cooking dinner when the phone rang, it was our niece, telling us that my BIL had passed away. We got in the car and drove over to meet them at his home. We spent over 3 hrs standing outside in the freezing cold, talking to the paramedics, police and coroner. He had passed a few days ago but no one knew until the landlord who lives in the upper part of the house realized the garbage bins were still out which he never leaves there so went banging on his door, knew his car was there, and after trying a few times during the day, called the family. He was a very private person and would come for dinners or family events but did not invite any of us into his home. Apparently, he was a hoarder and it's going to be a nightmare cleaning it all out. It'll be us and my SIL's family that do all this. It's sad that he didn't have a partner, children, or really any friends, it was just us family. So anyway, hubs is off to work for a few hrs and then the sorting will start as papers need to be looked for and we have to figure out what needs to be done. It makes hubs and I think about getting things set up for us. We always say we'll take care of it but never do.

Anyway, we're all a bit stunned and sad today and I'm kind of glad its a busy day, to keep my mind off it for a bit. On a weird note, about the hospital job that I didn't hear from for days, she sent me work yesterday. No message, no explanation as to why she ignored me for over a week, and then just sends me work like nothing had happened. I sent a skype message and said I was giving my notice, would she like 2 wks or immediately? She replied two weeks, as per stated contract. Ugh. So I'll have to do the work if she sends it but I won't go out of my way to research terms and addresses. On a happier note, I chatted with the dog owner yesterday and we're meeting later today for a walk with our dogs. He wants me for an hour or so five days a week and is willing to pay $25 or $30 a day. How fun to get paid to walk Taz and Ava (she's a husky/shepherd/lab cross 6 mth old rescue). If it work out and I get the job, I'll be driving 10 minutes or so to his place each day, at lunchtime or at dinner time, depending on his work shift. At least this won't interfere with my other job and takes the pressure off finding another typing job so quickly. Fingers crossed it all works out. The only problem may be that he wants me for occasional Saturdays and I start going to our trailer for wkends starting the end of May but hopefully we'll figure something out.

Chris - awesome that you got some work and got some goodies to bring home too.
Kat - study, study, study :)
Nancy - Luther sounds so well behaved! You must be such a proud doggy mom.
Trudy - hope you are enjoying the visit and looking forward to seeing some pics.

Have a wonderful day, everyone!
