Happy Thursday, and if you are reading this a bit later, Down Under, happy Friday!
Thanks everyone for the b-day wishes for my pook. She seemed to have a great day. She is a Peer Mediator as school and yesterday was her first training session, along with about 15 other 8th graders. They had donuts for b-fast and real (as opposed to cafeteria) pizza for lunch, and no classes all day long.
i don't know if other schools have this program but it is a way to help kids who are having peer conflicts or being bullied work things out with the help of other students. It is supposed to encourage more openness and less fear of punishments/stigma. NJ also has a new and really strict (and IMHO- over the top) bullying law so I am sure that they have to incorporate that as well. The part of the law that I don't agree with is that if their is any bullying done between students even outside of school- not on school property, or on school time etc- that is has to be processed according to the law. I think that they are trying to get to the core of cyber-bullying, which is commendable. However, i think that this oversteps bounds and removes parents from the picture.
Back to Cait's b-day.... she loved he gifts- a new make-up mirror and some cool wire desk organizers for her make-up brushes and stuff. The cookies were delish and so was the chicken if I do say so myself
I am off to work at MIL's today so no scrap time for me.
Temptation on Thursday
i want to book another trip to disney, even though I have no money to do it. Isn't that what credit cards are for????
