Is it really 39* in North jersey?? Really???? i don't like it one bit. I have to keep my eye on the weekend weather- near 80* on Sunday, wahoooooo!!!!

I had such a nice time meeting up with my BFF. And I start a new cleaning job next week. Its smaller and less $ than for my MIL, but its something, and that is all good. Its also for my neighbor, so that also means less $$ in gas and in time. But I have to admit I am going to miss not seeing MIL every week. (Can't remember if I said or not- but MIL had to "let me go." Her budget is wiped out as well. She paid me out of her Social Security and now that she is 65, medicare kicked in and that took out my "salary")

Anyway-I am cleaning for a new person today. Its a one-shot deal, but I am hoping that she likes me better than her "regular" people and will keep me on.

other than that, I hope to do some posting here, and try out my "new" second monitor. Gary is a computer cannibal and had an old, small monitor he wasn't using any more. Having a lot of free time on his hands, he scrounges through the Free section on craiglist. he has gotten some cool, free stuff.... and then.... has gotten some free crap, like a 40" flat screen TV that doesn't work, and it taking up space in a closet..... :eek:hwell:
Anyway- with the 2nd monitor, I am going to have ACDsee on one and Photoshop on the other. Wheeee! (Little things make me happy LOL)

Temptation on Thursday....

I don't want to cook tonight- how about ordering pizza?? :hungry:
:D

Tonight is our last dance session before we perform tomorrow night- yikes- well it will be what it will be. Guess I better get the inside work done before the sun comes up-oh wait I have have over an hour for that!

Good morning Laurie- I know you will be in here soon. Hope that life is calming down for you - at least a bit.

Clara- Yay for Dad coming today! Don't worry about the house, he is just going to be so happy to see you and the kids!
Thank you soooo much for the Loan Mod info (And Sally, you too!) I told Gary that this is why I blabber so much to all of you, you all help me out in so many ways. :) We looked online at out mortgage company and got all of the info that they need for a load mod. Being that he is disabled and wasn't when we got the mortgage, we should be eligible. I can't find our declarations page for our homeowner's insurance, but we have the ins co. sending us a copy. Other than that, we'll talk to the Modification Specialist soon. if for some reason we are not eligible, I still think that a re-fi will help too.
See, its all good, working out little by little.
Have fun getting your CE's!!

Frani- Thank you so much for your words!!!
I had a car that did that to me too, a Saturn Sedan. I would have the kids in the car and be out and about, and then "click" nothing...... And do you know how long it takes for AAA to come tow-- even if you have toddlers in the car?? Oops, sorry- no need to rant about something that happened 10 years ago..... Bottom line, it was something defective inthe computer part of the key fob, how crazy is that?

Maureen- good thoughts and hugs backatcha!
Sally- thanks again for the HAMP info! How did you do with your advent calendars? Did you stay undistracted?

Trudy- OMG- a bird?? That happened last week out on Long Island and it shut down the entire rail line out of NYC-- from a bird. SMH!
I can't imagine having your DS so far away. How long will he be in Italy?

Terry- fingers crossed that someday I win the lottery. we have decided that an O-Fam trip around the world is in order LOL

Phyllis- awesome advice-- and very true!
(and yes aren't the emoticons awesome? :jedi: )

Maureen- that sounds exactly like something I would do- send the wrong letter out.....

Hope that everyone has a great day!
xoxo

always chatty at the O!!
Hey ladies!!! Good morning!!

I need to be super fast. Gotta get me and the girl ready, take her to Andrea's hear more boring Nuc Med stuff (the speakers are renowned but geesh!! You can only listen to so much about molecular stuff before you are drooling on your desk). I wan to get a couple of things done in my house before I go pick up my dad and that's about it.

I hope everyone has a fabulous day!!

Chris - Very cool about the possibly loan modification. It is always worth trying to get something for free before shelling out a bunch of miney. I hope it works out. Now I just need to call and do the same. I meant to do it yesterday but there were some time zone issues.

Good Morning ladies....I will be home sick today....lack of sleep and the colder weather has finally caught up with me....I have a head cold and feel crappy.....my DH said his rules are you go to work unless you are puking up....sheeesh already had one parent in my life don't need another one at 57 yrs young to tell me what to do....okay he was just joking around, but probably does believe in that train of thought.

Chris - fingers crossed that you can get your loan modified enough to help out.

Morning peeps!

My grand excursion to AC Moore, Costco and then the Detention center (for a volunteer meeting not for a stay!) was a mini disaster. I dashed into ACM and got my one magazine with the 50% coupon, but sadly Digital Artist or whatever it's called was sold out. So I got Artful Blogging.I asked the clerk if they knew if another craft store was coming when ACM closed. She looked at me quizzically and I said ...Since the company was sold. http://www.scrapbookupdate.com/2011/10/05/ac-moore-sold-to-crafts-distributor-sbars-inc/

Eeek. She said "Well I never heard of that! No one told me!" and I wished I had kept my mouth shut. I know she didn't believe me and most of the clerks there have been there a long long time. :sorry:

So off to Costco I go and find people lingering around the entrance. ???wtf??? Well, it appears they have 'technical difficulties'. I'd say, even tho I don't know what they are.

Ok, back to ACM and get another Somerset magazine - Christmas stuff, and yes, back to Costco. Now they say they are officially closed. No reason, just closed. Sigh. That is the store that has my Halloween prints !! for for the frames I keep in my kitchen and change out seasonally.

Back to the other shopping center I go, dash into Panera and get something to eat. Eeek...my 7pm meeting is about to start so I take it with me and sit in the back of the room. For once, this quarterly volunteer meeting does not take 1 hr. It is over in 15 minutes....hmmm. My volunteer commitment does not start til 8pm. So I go sit in my car, finish my food, and be grateful that whatever is going on, has not seriously affected my life. Crazy? yes, bfd? no. My 8pm meeting really goes well and I drive home without the specific magazine I wanted, without my kitchen decorations, without PSE10 but with a feeling that somehow, all is well.

Frani…hope you feel better! Back when I was a fed, we had an unspoken rule that we could use a sick day as a mental health day. Sometimes the people screaming at you over the phone just wore your soul down. (my immediate boss was a social worker so she had some common sense)

Clara - too true about the conference. Even good stuff can be ENUF! after a day or two. Enjoy your visit with your PaPa.

Eva- I bet you feel some pride! the papers here quoted one US recipient as saying he "heard someone on the phone with a Swedish accent and he knew it wasn't IKEA"

Chris..yes brr! I hope your cleaning jobs work out. I'm sorry your MIL can't afford you any more. That sounds like it was a win-win for both of you. Yeah for the loan-mod! It will work out. I know it will somehow.

hey girlies!!

a great day planned for me...you can't guess, i know you can't...yep, you guessed...advent calendars!! yes, Chris, I did kind of get distracted. I got all of the ordered materials out and realized that my cat had shed on all of my plain muslin which I use for the backing. Well, I'm thinking customers won't appreciate that much cat hair, so I washed it. And while waiting, I got going on another project that really needed to be done before Monday, too. I'm halfway through that one..I better get a move on this am. I have to run and get my car registration renewed and take the cars in for oil changes...ugh..why is maintenance so annoying? I'm thankful for having cars, though, so I can't really complain, can i?

Chris, yay on your new gig!! I'm thinking it should be time for craft fairs for your faerywings apothecary, too!! you go, girl!!

Eva, congrats to you "friend!!" yay for Sweden! I have to go and read his poetry today!! happy day!

Clara, have fun at your NucMedConf!! :) no drooling...it's just not becoming! hugs!

Frani!! Ohhh you girl...take care of yourself, hun!!! enjoy the time off!!! thinknig healthy thoughts!! :)

Maureen....your adventures sound like mine everyday!! Although I would have gotten all of the Somerset mags because I am majorly addicted to all of them!! hope today is even better!!! hugs!!

Terry, enjoy the ladies retreat!! I can't wait to hear all about it!!! happy day!!

Trudy!!! You are an inspiration, girl! I don't tell you enough, but you are!!! Havea great Short day today!! hugs!!

and to all who come in after...love you all!!
have a BLESSED day!!!

It is fall cleaning day- the sun is shining- the temperatures are goldilocks- not too hot, not too cold! I have apples cooking on the stove for sauce. As I cleaned up some, I realized the bargain bag of apples had an interesting smell-yea- needed cleaning out- those 20 bad apples. So sauce with the good stuff it is. Freezer stuff today, and canned stuff later- maybe. So much to do- I wish I could have a sunny week off this time of year- maybe next year I can do that!

got my flu shot, with the attendant paranoid feelihg that i was going to have an allergic reaction to it and die right in the dr.'s office. i do that every year. but i'm still breathing, so it must be OK.

i have a TON of new CT stuff to look through this afternoon. haven't unzipped the files yet. Anna Aspnes is so prolific. there's always something new in her head. dunno how she DOES it! my scrapping seems to be going through some changes, which always makes me nervous. it's like someone else is driving the bus.

i hope everyone finds the funny in something today. Dear Ladies, if you're sad, worried, sick or happy, i hope for some peace and some happiness for you.

Oh, I found my favorite poem of Tomas Tranströmer translated to English.

“In the middle of life it happens that death comes and takes your measurements.
This visit is forgotten and life goes on.
But the suit is sewn in silence.”

Tha man's a genius - what can I say :D

Eva that poem is ...breathtaking.

Phylis, if you croak at the dr's office, I'll scrap your departure for you. Title work all ready..."she had a premonition".

DH came home from his bike trip early caus...he's doing another bike ride tomorrow. That man is finally learning not to push himself too much! He may have a volunteer job at the nearest 'Restore'. We'll see what comes of it. He said it was pretty junky stuff but one man's junk is another man's treasure or so they say.

Back to scrapping.
