Oh man oh man, I am so aggravated. Don't know if any of you have heard about the fiscal s*** that NJ is going through right now. And our governor is a big a******. He has cut so much aid to the schools -millions and millions of $$- that my school district is in bad shape. Last month we voted for the budget (it failed) and 3 new BOE members who have *no clue* and no vested interest in the schools. They want to close a school to save $$- this September!!!! That's in what 4 months??????
I am furious.

So for my ToT-- the new BOE president and his wife (also new BOE member) live down the street from me. My neighbor suggested we do a flaming bag of poo on their very nicely and expensively landscaped lawn. I said I have 2 dogs who would love to help.

*shaking head* I don't get what these people want. They have also talked about closing our Middle school. its like WTF??????? My town is the largest Twp in NJ, by square miles. Huge. We have 5 elem schools that go into the Middle and HS. Their idea is to keep the Elem schools K-7th. The HS would be 8th-12th grades.
And what are they going to do w/ the Middle school curriculum? And teachers?

uh oh.... I got started again......

its just crazy. And who suffers? The KIDS!!!!!!
Bah :(

I hope everyone is having a fab day- love to you all. I am off to work at MIL's today. Thank goodness, I am desperate for some money.

xoxoxo!!!!!

OH Chris....I hear ya loud and clear!!! that was a huge issue here a few months ago!! they were going to be closing schools all around...shutting down all the art and music....it was so devistating....but they worked and heard the voice of the the people (who made it LOUD AND CLEAR) and came up with new solutions....first there is NO NEW HIRING, and they have offered packages to a lot of older teachers to go ahead and retire...and some other things too....but thank goodness....there were going to be 5 schools to close in the county Traci lives in. GEEZ!! Keep the faith and SPEAK OUT WHEN EVER POSSIBLE!!!

I am on a cooking binge today...I am making all kinds of salads (Pasta, chicken, potato) and slow cooking a roast in the oven, and some sweet treats too!! my house smells really good right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I only got a couple of hours with Jaiden yesterday!! BOO!! I need to get her back her for the weekend...but this weekend is going to be busy.

I have sad news:icon_frown: You guys remember the aunt that had such horrible DRS and we were trying to get her help. She has continued to worsen and now they say she only has a few weeks left to live. My Mom is so heartbroken. They are very close, despite their 13 year age diff. But she is suffering so badly, so I know she will be so much better off. Then she will be my Mom's angel!

Well, Miss Savannah is becoming the independent little girl. She will not let you feed her a bottle any more, she hates for you to feed her food...she wants things she can feed herself!! Oh she reminds me of Traci!!! She is sitting in the floor right now dancing!! She is not a TV baby. She seems to draw to things that are FULL of music and singing. She is watching Jack's Big Music Show right now. Sally, you may have a new little one for your band :)

Guess I better get back to the kitchen!! Chicken Salad sandwich anyone??

Good Morning "O" ladies... Nana Linda, can I come over and have lunch at your place?? perhaps I will stay for supper too?? sounds like you are busy in the kitchen!! Yummmm!!
Sorry to hear about your Aunt ((Hugs)) ::grouphug to you all. It is terrible when someone has to suffer, you wish you could just take it all away for them!!:frown:
Chris how terrible that they are closing schools in your area!! We too have had school closures on Vancouver Island and all over British Columbia. I no longer have any children in school, but I will soon have Grandchildren attending and hopefully they will have the good fortune to attend well funded schools!! Keep your temper and don't put poo on anyone's yard, it won't help the situation and you could get into some big trouble  ;)

Morning darlings!!

Ohhh Chris, I tell you...you make your voice heard (I agree with Trudy..not with flaming poo!!! LOL!)!! And you rant all you want here!! You know my take on education, so I won't get all on my soapbox, but here in Texas, they have spent so much on new buildings, they can't pay their teachers?...whaaaa?????? Is the building going to teach my children??? (anyway, another reason I HS, so I don't get all in everyone's face around me about the problem with public education!! LOL!!) *off of soapbox!*

NanaLinda, yay for cooking! You would have LOVED my brisket marinade last night!! I went to bed smelling like mesquite wood and garlic...YUMMMMMM!! Count me in for chicken salad!!!! yay!! and yes, sign baby Savannah up for BRT!!! :) Love it!!

Trudy, you have a great day today!! :)

well, I'm a little bit calmer today in my brain than I was yesterday. I have my list of stuff to do, and it's a bit long (yes, Chris, I LOVED your Carla tweet on Twitter last night!! LOL!!) But I really want my Friday night party to go well!! So today I making mashed potatoes and possibly my mom's birthday cake. And Mr Gorgeous's BFF is coming over to put up the bead board in my kitchen. He was supposed to come yesterday, but I wore myself out walking around for Cora's BFF"s bday surprise party we threw her yesterday!!

Cora's been hit by the BIG TIME allergy bug here and is taking a "sick" day. She said she would help clean when she could. Poor dear!! I think she's allergic to geometry and chemistry, but oh well, she'll eventually make it through that course!! One day I'll be looking back on this semester and think, that was so long ago!! and it went so fast!! So I know she'll do okay...

okay...I'm off to the craft studio to whip up some mom's day ideas for the blog today!! yipeee!!! :)

love you all dearly!!

Good morning ladies!!

Happy lay off day!! :) I have to go in at 11:00 to meet with my boss and HR to fill out the paperwork for the layoff today. Can you tell how upset I'm not. LOL!! With my state's unemployment benefits and the severance package I'm just not concerned with the move coming up and everything, ya know? It is just such a blessing at this time. So, I am going to Michigan for a few days on Saturday and then when I get back I am getting to work. My neighbor said she would help me. I told her she doesn't need to actually help me, she can just sit and talk to me while I do crap and that would be awesome. I just can't self motivate, list or no list I just dilly-dally all day long. It is horrible. Once we get to NC I will have a very strict schedule that we have to stick to or this homeschooling thing will never work out and it has to work out. Has to. I did look at some of the housing there and I am pretty excited about it. I am thinking we will live on post instead of in an apartment. That will do better for us...we'll have more space and it will cost us less. I've been chatting with Andrea about some of the options and what's around there and she's been hooking me up with information. It is so cool knowing people all over the world...plus she gets me and how hard it will be for me to adjust to that part of the country since she's from my part of the country. The weather in itself will be so hard, especially in the summer. That heat and humidity may just kick my butt. Eeeek!! I mean it is definitely humid sometimes in the summer here but not like it is in the south. That will be a major adjustment. I'll be okay though. Thank goodness for AC, right?? LOL!!

Anyway, I have a few things to do before my firing so some quick love...

Chris - that has to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard with the school closure. So, what do the school higher ups think about an 8th grader dating a senior in HS?? How is that going to go over?? So, I guess no child gets left behind as long as a school district can afford it? Man oh man. I'll join you in ranting about that! That just amazes me. I say go for the flaming bag of poo, but don't you dare get caught...I'm not sure if they have internet in prison...but I'll bet you'd get healthcare. Hmmm...maybe prison could be an option for you. something to think about. Sorry, what can I say...I'm a bit sick in the head. But you already knew this. Ooooh, maybe you could commit a crime as a family and then you could advocate for a family prison system or something like that and them force the state to take care of you and your family...then they'd feed, clothe and house you. Okay, I'm going off the deep end now. I haven't eaten anything, so maybe I'm just talking crazy from lack of food. LOL!! Hahahahaha!! I am at least amusing myself though!! This is why you love me!!

Nana Linda - Such a nana. Never enough time with those babies. You do need more time with Traci's kids though. I know you don't get to see them as much as you'd like. You'll figure it out though I am sure. Savannah sounds just like Miss Addie. She is my little Dancing Queen. You'll see in August. Speaking of August, I think we are going to see if there is a campground right around there and we'll have Derek's parents' pull behind camper with us. We're going to stay in that instead of a hotel when we get to NC also to save on money while we wait for a place to stay in since we have to front the money. Ugh!! So, I'm going to be checking into that also. Sorry, just randomly thought of that. We'll probably be there from the 7-10. I just have to find something close to where you guys will be at. I am so sorry to hear about your aunt and I will pray for her to not feel any pain over the next few weeks. I am so sorry for your mom. These times are always so hard. SEnding hugs your way!!

Hi Trudy!! Tell us more about you so we can interact a little more with you pretty please!! Have a great day!!

Sally - why is everyone so against the flaming poo? I love it!! Okay, it might be a tad bit childish, but it would sure be funny and make someone feel better. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!! I'm glad your briskit turned out good although I don't remember getting any. :) So what kind of party are you having on Friday? hope is goes flawlessly! Cora is allergic to Geometry, huh? Well, that sure stinks. I'm allergic to everything. She could get shots instead to make the allergies to go away...I'm wondering how they would put math in a vial though. Hmmmm...

Chris....I just thought of something...instead of "Flaming" Poo.....

Remember the tomatoes under the seat??? BUhahahahahaha!!!!!

Trudy....sweetie...you come on over and eat lunch, supper, spend the night and I will whip you up some breakfast too!:p

Sally....I should have been at your house for dinner last night!! YUM!!!! Poor Cora!!! Give that girl a hug and tell her to not breathe anywhere near those books!!!! I hope she feels better soon!!

Clara....Yes my dear you will have to get used to our HOT STICKY SUMMERS!!! Camping sounds fun....I will check it out too...I have camped down there lots, but not at that end....I will email you with any info I come up with. That stinks that they make you front the money for a place to stay!! You have a good time in Michigan this weekend!!!

after noon all - had my mammo and bone density this morning- forgot my phone- I was out of whack for some reason anyway- drove to mansfield- a good hour from my house but closer to where I had the mammo, and got my jewelry cleaned- i am not that kind of person, dh buys me jewelry which I do wear when we go out, but other wise i wear junk jewelry so if the kiddos at work want rip it off, no harm. I found a great red dress on sale and bought a tie to match for a benefit for the red cross we are attending next weekend. Then for my gift to self for mother's day, I bought a one year membership to Kingwood Center I went by myself- gf bailed on me and had a great time- I can't wait to go back -0 the photos- amazing!!

Chris- I hate it when schools have issues- I think if we went back to basics and not all PC and must teach this, we would be far better off- One of my kids schools was k-4 and then 5- 12 in same building and it did work

Nana Linda- hope you get your Jaiden time soon

clara- sounds like you are making the best of your situation

Sally - have fun craft studio time!
