Good mOrning, O-fam!
Who wants to hear the newest chapter in my parents' wacky medical sagas???
I texted my dad yesterday to see how my mom was doing, I didn't want to call in case she was sleeping. He texts back that she was feeling fine but had to make an appt for a CT scan. He adds, "nothing serious." I text back- is this normal post-op or something different. He says that he wasn't supposed to say anything and now he is going to be in big trouble with her. I promised I wouldn't let her know he mentioned it. She called last night, sounded good, never mentioned anything-- so who the heck knows????

Everything else was status quo here- quiet chaos. ;) I painted my nails and didn't mess them up-- the second part of that endeavor is how long the nail polish will last without me chipping it or biting it off?

Not much happening today.

:D

@BrightEyes good luck keeping the fever down and arm soreness away! Hope it stays all low-level for you. Any sign of the landscapers?
What a sweet surprise to see Chari and D-GS

@Kythe so sorry that you are having trouble with your heart-- is it POTS? I am trying to remember what was happening... either way, I am sending good thoughts to you

@bcgal00 So exciting!! I had a dream about you getting furniture last night- wish I could remember any details, although I remember something about an inflatable mattress LOL

@taxed4ever did your power stay on? Hope it did. I bet you have a lot of yard clean-up to do. :(
Poor Hunter- is he feeling any better?

@Cherylndesigns ROTFLMAO I love the herb baby stories :D
That sounds like a perfect day to me, talking to the herb babies, some weeding and rearranging of branches, and gears. It has to look fabulous out there
(Guess who also loves the chalkboard labels and chalk pens?)

group hugs!

Morning, all. I ran my few errands yesterday - wearing a mask. The smoke was heavy and it was advised to wear a mask when out. Same thing again today but I don't plan on going anywhere. My temp went up to 101* in the afternoon so I spent most of the afternoon in the recliner taking it easy. It was normal this morning - so hoping it stays that way. Decided to just rest and relax for the next couple of days. Think I will have a PJ day. ;)

@faerywings That news without details about your Mom is worrisome. Will keep her in my prayers. Glad you got your nails done and hope it holds up until after the party.

@taxed4ever So sorry about all the heavy winds and limbs, etc from your neighbor's yard ending up in your yard. Yes, it is scary when the wind gets that strong. Hope they ease off soon. The winds have really been strong here. Saw a tree with the main trunk twisted and torn off while I was out yesterday. I really like your new table and chairs. So good that you can repurpose the old set to use when the kids are there.

@Cherylndesigns I like hearing your herb baby stories! Had to LOL over having to anchor the arch down... I would be afraid it would blow down or away here with the strong winds we are having. Love the LOs on FB...

@LSlycord Too bad about the offer on the house not being accepted. Hope you get a quick sale on your house and that other house is still available.

@Kythe So sorry to hear you are having heart issues again. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Time for another cup of coffee. Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone! Well the horrible winds we had all day and into the evening, blew itself out! What a mess to clean up! Huge branches everywhere, thankfully as far as I know no real damage to our house. I did hear lots of big thuds on the roof, sure hope we did not have any damage to it! DH will go up there over the weekend to check it all out. The neighbours behind us had a big fir tree uproot and fall into their backyard. I was in my craft room finishing off Mason's card when I heard that come down, thankful that it did not come down on the fence! Then as I was looking out the kitchen window, the top of one of the trees across the road snapped off and flew through the air landing in the empty lot a little ways from us. Yikes!! it was like being in a Hurricane for awhile. Mother Nature was one Mad Woman yesterday! However it blew in some beautiful sunshine for this morning and clear blue skies for the next few days! Hooray it looks like we will finally have some decent weather and warmer temps! Lucky me I get to go to the dentist this morning, Ugh!! Hope to get out for a walk in the sunshine at some point today and perhaps start on the clean up in the back yard. My poor aching back LOL.

@faerywings - I just love your layout that you did with FS's great products! What a wonderful start to your new CT duties! Hmmm, I would be a bit concerned over your Mother's lack of information! Sorry you are banging your head on the table over it! Surprisingly we did not lose power yesterday, most of our power lines etc are underground in our area. DH said it looks like a war zone on the highways though and there were lots of downed trees! I was worried about the hikers yesterday and never did hear anything about them cancelling the hike, but hopefully they did. It was just too darn dangerous to be out in that wind yesterday! Not sure if Hunter is any better yet today. Heather will be calling shortly I am sure and I will find out then. Hope you have a good day, perhaps you can get more things finished off for Caitlyn's grad party? When is that happening again?? I have a memory like sieve #crazy.

@BrightEyes - Wow your temps are really climbing! How awful to have the smoke so heavy that you have to wear a mask outside! I sure hope you can get some relief from all this smoke and fires around you! Hopefully the winds will settle down too! I find that constant wind really gets on my nerves, I just hate it! I think it comes from all the years we lived in the prairie, the wind was an everyday thing Ugh!!

Ok its time to refill my coffee cup and hit the gallery for a bit! Have a great day everyone, hope the sun is shining for you all today!

Whew! I finally made it in here - it's 5:15. Been a busy day - I'll tell you all about it. But first, Chris @faerywings I can't believe your dad dropped a bomb like that!!! He WILL be in huge trouble if your mom finds out - good for you for staying mum. Yikes - like "Oh, your mom is having a CT". DUH - like it happens every day. Oh boy - those two.

My cute little black labels came today - I can't wait to play with my Ball jars. LMBO I'm SO lame. Of course, you like them too - my sister from another mother. There's no BWAHAHA emoji.

Kay @BrightEyes I hope you're feeling a bit better by now - you've had a PJ day, I hope. I'm glad you like hearing my stories - you know how that wind does blow! My favorite thing to say is "the wind is going to blow it down to the main road". LOL One night, last summer, our chair cushions were gone (from the front porch) and I thought "where did they go"? I started walking around and found them up beside this little red barn that's on the property between our house and Adrienne's. If that barn hadn't stopped them, "they'd be down on the main road". Chuck took this double sided sticky tape and taped them down.to the chairs.

Trudy @taxed4ever how frightening about the wind damage! Sounds a lot like what we went through with our last wind storm. I know a hurricane came through here - we were out today and a lot of roads are still closed. There's still a mess on part of our property too - and our pond got completely "reconfigured". Yes, Mother Nature can be a total beast. I'm so glad that it didn't do anymore damage and at least it brought in some nice weather.

Adrienne, Ava, the pups and Carey came down about 11 this morning and stayed for a couple of hours. Then Chuck and I headed out to look for some Morning Glories and Wisteria to plant on the arch. Several hours later, we came home with everything else. I FINALLY found some at Lowe's but they were $70 a bucket!!! I said NO WAY!! I'll get some seeds and plant them myself or find some somewhere else that are not highway robbery. So now I have an arch with nothing on it. Oh well, it still looks pretty. I need to take pics but was waiting until I had some vines at least going up the sides.

I still needed 1 lavender plant and of course, I couldn't find any at Lowe's. Then Chuck says "Hon, here's a lavender plant (I think) but it isn't marked. It was sitting all by itself on an end cap. Bless his heart, I'm getting that man so into my herbs - how many men would recognize a lavender plant? I was SO proud. #clap#clap

We went to a private, local nursery too and I bought an asparagus fern and a beautiful coleus and couldn't resist 2 daisy plants and 3 purple salvia plants. I'll probably end up moving the salvia to the side garden if and when I get it done.

Then Carey saw us come home and walked down and helped me plant some of it. We had a great time just being outside and she leaves tomorrow night for a 6 am flight back to Detroit. It was so much fun to spend some time with her and she planted her first-ever plant and was so excited.

So, I'm very tired, but it's been a great day!

Thanks to ALL of you for "liking" my layouts on FB!! I really appreciate it and love seeing all of yours.

XOXO
