Whew! That's a lot of stuff!

I am soo so sooooo happy to see so many new people, and I give you all a HUGE O-Welcome!
Make sure you keep on coming by in the Daily Ooo's- we have lots of fun just catching up and chatting about- whatever- every day!

Right now I am trying to type super-quietly. Gary didn't sleep again over the night before last. Right now he has been asleep on the couch since about 4 am.
How long can a person really go without sleep? This makes about a total of 13-15 hours of sleep total between Sat. 6 am and now- Thursday! I actually suggested to him that I take him to the hospital, maybe they could inject him with something to help him sleep. This seems just crazy!

aaahhh bah, he just came downstairs- up already- so that's what 2 hours of sleep tonight? :(

ME-- so glad to hear about your dad! Keep us posted.

Gotta run.....

love to you all!

quick hello for me... we got the trees done yesterday, but may have killed the pear tree :( it's roots were sooo deep that we couldn't move it without damaging the roots... so we went ahead and planted it in the new spot with the roots we did have and we'll hope for the best! Its raining now, so I'm hoping with the the rain and the topsoil we have a chance to save it!

Now that its raining, Gabe and I will do some work inside... putting the peace lilies in new pots, cleaning house, getting seeds started to plant later, etc. On Monday he starts work at a new job that will put him in an office everyday!

Chris - I think you should call Gary's doctor about giving him something to help him sleep... he can't keep up like that, because no sleep will just cause him to get super run-down! (just my advice lol)

Alright... gotta finish giving Will his meds and get him off to school... hope everyone has a great day!

Morning and Happy Thursday!

Raining and gloomy here, but the birds are singing and hopefully what is left of the trees (I'm sure I've mentioned more than once that there's not a whole tree left around here) will start to come back to life. I actually did discover one whole tree in our yard but I haven't went to see it up close yet.

Gotta tell y'all a neat story...there's a dog, cute black and white one that has made it's home near a local Subway and Domino's right by a ramp to get on a parkway. Very small town and the dog has plenty of room to roam and there's a chainlink fence around one side of the property. Several locals have taken to stopping by and feeding him/her, kind of on a cycle to make sure it doesn't overlap. The dog doesn't ever come right up to you but kind of stands back and just cocks his head like he really wants to come but is a bit scared. When Winter came on one of the nice people made him a doghouse taking care to face the door away from where the wind usually comes from and under some trees for shade. I usually drive through about 7:45 or 8 in the morning to see the first person feeding...and on the way home I see another feed him.

Well, when we had the big ice storm, one of the first things I thought of was that poor little guy, nicknamed by everyone the Parkway Pooch, when I was first able to get out of the house and down that way I noticed him. I did see some tree limbs down but it looked ok....well after a few days he was gone. I had no idea what had happened and have continued to look everyday, I kept watching the paper hoping to see something about him because that's how I learned about how people were taking care of him. Yesterday I finally found out that he apparently was injured during the storm and needs two or more surgeries, someone took him to a local vet and he will be there for quite a while but they are taking donations and hopefully he will be ok...and hopefully will come to trust people and find a real home. I'm just soooo happy there are people out there who care for our furry friends like this poor, apparently abandoned little guy. I'm running out to the clinic to donate and see him this weekend, I hope they will let me see him anyway surely they will.

Anyhow, that's enough gibber-gabber...it's time to head out!

Chris-definitely try to get Gary to see a doctor about something for sleep! Poor thing :(.

Sandra-you busy beaver! Be sure to take pics and do a layout when everything starts blooming and looking pretty!

Y'all have great day! I'll be ready to chat a little tonight, can't stay up toooo late .....course I could lose track of time! Hugs to all!

It's Thursday and spring break! YAY! Mr. Wonderful and I are planning to take down the LAST of the plaster and lathe and get it hauled out of the house! He had to go in to work for a couple of hours so I'm using my internet time to catch up on all y'all!
We had an early release for students yesterday and then teacher in service in the afternoon. My greenhouse plants came in on Tuesday afternoon so yesterday all my classes were working in the greenhouse to try to get as much potted as possible! We do hanging baskets and patio pots. I'll attach a picture - it's not much, just a cell phone pic, but the house looks pretty full.

Ok, looks like Sandra needs some horticultural advice. I'll see what I can do. Since I am SO far BEHIND in reading the daily chatter I'll have to make my response pretty broad. If you just planted things like trees and shrubs, you should be ok. IF they are zoned for your area, they should be ok. Bedding plants like petunias, marigolds, any veggies really can't or shouldn't go in till you are past your last average frost date. Not sure what to say about your pear tree, all depends on if it can get more roots growing quickly. I think you mentioned rain in the forecast - that may help to warm up the soil - root zone and stimulate growth. Once the frost is out things should get going well for you. It is actually good for plants to have their roots pruned a little, it stimulates their growth by removing hormones that keep them from branching and sending out new runners. As for the azalea - I hope you have better luck that I do with those. Part of the problem may be my location, we are mostly zone 4. They just don't do well here. If I've got some info goofed up, please help me out and post your question directly here and I'll try to get you a good answer. I know that what I posted was really general.
ME - glad to hear that your dad is doing well! Praying for you both
Chris - hoping your man can get some sleep!
I'll be back for more personals once I catch up on what's going on :)
Here's a pic of my greenhouse:

Linda! Your greenhouse is gorgeous. My hubby is the park manager at Newton Hills (I'm guessing you know where that is) and took a lot of tree classes while he was in college at SDSU majoring in park management. I call them tree classes, not sure what the correct term would be. :) He took some landscaping classes too, and worked in Nantucket for a summer. So ... the fact that our house has no landscaping bugs me to no end! This spring he is under orders to get our yard looking great. We have a nice garden, but that is it. What kind of hostas should we plant? We have SO much shade. Ugh.

Anyway, I went off on a tangent. My mom would flip at your greenhouse. Right now she is big into roses and does so, so well with them. She lives in the Platte area. :)

Ok. I am making an appt. for Jacob and myself today. I'm pretty sure he has an ear infection. And, I need to see if my doc will get me some meds for my flight to Vegas. I don't know if I can get on the plane otherwise.

Chris - I hope Gary can get some sleep. :( The less sleep he gets, the sicker he feels, I'm sure. :(

Dawn - I hope that dog heals up and finds a forever home. :) I'm so glad the people in your community are taking care of him! It makes up for all the awful people that abandon and abuse their pets. My mom does dog rescue and fosters many dogs until they can be adopted, and it can really be disheartening to see how many pets need a loving home.

Sandra - Good luck to Gabe with his new job on Monday!

always chatty at the O!!
Good morning everyone. I have a bit of a headache this morning and would love to have some coffee but I left my purse at home...go figure. My day started out pretty good. I wasn't rushed. I got to see Addie, who was in a good mood and being cute. Then Ethan woke up easily and my dh made me a breakfast burrito. It was yummy. Two days ago, Ethan woke up with a weird rash on his face. I thought it was the way he slept on it and put some lotion on his face and sent him off to school. When he got home that evening it had gotten worse so I put benedryl cream on it and gave him some benedryl but it didn't change. The next day he still had it so we went to my friend's house who is an ER nurse and she said it looked like it needed benedryl which I gave him again and it was till there this morning. So, I'll be taking in to see his provider this afternoon. It doesn't itch or really bother him. It is just so strange. Hopefully we find an answer tonight. We'll see.

Chris - That really stinks that Gary can't sleep. I'm sure it is making him cranky and not feel well. I hope he can get some sleep. My dh hasn't been sleeping well either. Better than Gary but not great.

Sandra - good luck with your plants and tree. You are so much more motivated than I am. I'm sure you can tell by looking at your yard too.

Dawn - that is a really cool story about that dog. how cool that a community takes care of all of its members, including our furry little friends. I hope you get to visit him and he finds a good home.

Linda - Enjoy your spring break. We don't have spring break until April and the boys are ditching me.

***Speaking of which...does anybody have a companion fare that they are not going to use?? I could really use one. The prices for Alaska have been sitting at $500 a piece for 4 months. When I suggested they go I assumed the prices would go down at some point. Now they leave in a little over 2 weeks and I still haven't bought the tickets. Grrr!!!

Tali - good luck with your flight and the meds. Alcohol works for me. When I went on vacation last year my dh and sister got me pretty plastered before getting on the plane and it helped. Not sure if that is strong enough for you, but it worked for me. Good luck with that.

Have a great day everyone!!

Oooooh!! I am so proud of myself. I get at least 10 gold stars. So, my dh has been wanting to get a surround sound for awhile now. Of course he bought a snowboard at the last REI garage sale and used up his surround sound money. So today he calls me up and asks if he can get out $300 bucks for a surround sound. Eventually I find out that some guy came up to him in a parking lot and said that he was given 2 surround sounds to install instead of 1 and so he could just sell this system worth $3000 for only $300. So, with my dh on the phone I hopped online. Of course the guy said to get onto Divincisound.com to see all about it...but smart little me wants reviews not what the company says about this system. On the first google search page alone there were at least 3-4 stories of people who were hit up in a parking lot to buy this great surround sound worth all this money blah blah blah and that it was a scam and a piece of crap. I am such a smart cookie. Thank God for the internet and my smart little self. heehee!! My dh didn't get irritated or anything and I could hear him as he got off the phone saying that I read several stories on the internet of the exact situation he was in. Hmmmm...gotta love scammers.

...loves her some "O"
okay...so I dont' know if you are like me, BUT....I am soooo addicted to the O right now!! Like I can't get off of the couch and leave my computer for two minutes becauase I might miss something!!! Did the fairy leave some more dust? Are there new LOs in the gallery? What did people think of this or that? Yep...addicted!!

So Krista had to tell me to get off of my bum and enjoy some sunshine for a few!! LOL!!!! So I grabbed Mr Gorgeous and we went to Bucees!!! LOL!!! I don't know if you are familiar with Bucees, but it is a really fun truck stop!! isn't that a hoot??? We've been watching one go up at the entrance of our neighborhood for a while now, and it finally OPENED yesterday!! Cora went with her friend yesterday and came home with a new t-shirt and a bag of Beaver Nuggets! (Bucee is a beaver!! LOL!!) So, Donnie and I went and checked it out, bought a 32oz Dr Pepper for $1.16, got our free Beaver Nuggets and came home!! I GOT OFF of the COUCH!! heehee!!!

btw, beaver nuggets are basically carmel popcorn without the kernel. Like Corn pops!! YUMMMMMMMM!!! so much for weighing in tomorrow!! heehee!!!

Tomorrow we are going to the Houston Livestock Show (not the Rodeo part...no show or bull riding) to see the animals, horse shows, fun kid activities. We go to this part every year. I'm just hoping that the entire city of Houston isn't there (please, GOD!!!!) After the 10hour museum trip on Monday, I need to be away from crowds!! heehee!!!

CAn you tell that I've had caffeine??? I'll be sure and have more before our NIGHT OWL chat tonight!! Can't wait for that! I've seen the list of prizes...HOLEY MOLEY!! you gotta come and play with us!! What's a few hours sleep in the scheme of things??? LOL!!!

Linda, your cell phone takes great pics!! And you can come down here and fix me up, cause i'm the antithesis of a horticulturalist!!! (altho mr gorgeous and his fam are, so really i'm doing okay!!!)

Clara, are you guys going to Alaska on continental? I found fares from Seattle for around 400$. And Even from Houston around 400$. My mom, sister and I are going in July to see Mt McKinley and Anchorage! I can't wait!! it'll be a blast!! (love the plastered story, btw...i usually just up my relationship with God before I get on a plane - heehee!!)

Tali, i hope your sweetie boy is doing okay!! And I can't wait to see what your Mr Gorgeous does for your landscaping!!! TREE CLASS!! LOVE THAT!!!!

Dawn, it totally is refreshing to hear wonderful CARING stories in the community!! A lot better than the pimp ring that was found in our neighborhood!! heehee...sorry...LOL!!! (kinda cracked me up!! kinda!) I hope you are feeling better, darling!! I'm still praying for ya!!

Sandra!! I'm loving your LOs in the gallery, darling!! It's fun to hang with you at the chats!! Remember if you are having some insomnia tonight, come and play with us!! :) hugs!!

CHRIS!! my darling of all darlings!!! I have to tell you how excited I am about your chat on Tuesday. I know you weren't feeling well...I dont' know how you did it, chica!! My hero!! PLUS, i totally d/led acdsee, and it is now the only photo editing software on my laptop!! I'm loving all of the ins and outs!! especially the drop shadows!! you do not get that ability on Elements (which is what I have to install if I need to...Cora's copy!! heehee) So I praise you for a job really WELL done!!! thanks, hun!! and thanks for the hints today, too!!! love you!

Well, I've finished my beaver nuggets, still drinking my dr pepper...gotta finish my Thursday challenge LO!!!

Hi all! Busy week at work, but I've been keeping up with you all and just not chiming in so much. We had an author visit this week and she was fabulous! Funny, smart, nice, engaging with the kids...it was great. But between all the things going on with school and all the things going on with my other school and the nice weather encouraging us to play outside....I'm pooped today. I was looking forward to a nice weekend, but unfortunately my aunt's father passed away unexpectedly, so we have a wake, a funeral, and a funeral lunch that we are in charge of. So...we'll have a busier weekend than I imagined. That's o.k. though, we're family and it's important.

Linda - I'm jealous of your talent. I kill plants. No mincing words...I just kill them. Dead. I wish I had the nurturing ability like you.
Tali - I hope you find something to help you with the flight. My DH gets motion sickness pretty bad, but I also think he just won't admit how much of an emotional issue he has with flying too.
Clara - Have you tried Priceline? I've never used it, but just a thought....
Sally - You cheer me up just looking at your post. =) I can't wait for the chat tonight. I'm totally a night owl.
Sandra - Hope your tree comes back to life! We've had so much tree damage here too from ice storms, wind storms, etc. It's crazy.
Dawn - I love hearing feel-good stories like that.

Sally-thank you for the thoughts are prayers, thankfully it's something that just needs a med and not a big deal! So...I think what you're saying is I need to dust off my ACDSee and try it again?! After this week I will.
Hmmm...caffeine...I need to pop open a Pepsi come to think of it...I am not missing the chat :), can't wait!!! I'm addicted too, just wish there were more hrs in the day...I was actually late for work this morning cuz I didn't want to leave the computer!

Sara-glad you had a good day! Sorry for your loss though :(.

LindaP-amazing greenhouse! I am terrible with plants, I stick to artificial ;). Lots of good photo-ops for you though!

Clara-hope you find out what E's rash is and get him all better, nothing worse than an itchy child...always makes them soooo grumpy!

Tali-I hope Jacob gets to feeling better. As for your flight, I would be the same way...funny thing is I am dying to try sky-diving...go figure .

Off to scrap a page and do some running in the gallery! Hope to chat with y'all tonight!

Well, my Jakers has swimmer's ear, of all things. :( He is in a lot of pain and it is killing me, especially since he doesn't talk. The ear drops also won't go in - I'm afraid his canal has swelled more. So, we are going back to the doc tomorrow morning asap, hopefully she will put in a wick to keep those drops moving and working. And of course we have big plans for the weekend with 3 other couples, something we never do, and staying overnight and MIL is taking the kids. It is going to be hard for me to leave Jacob with him not feeling so hot. Baaaahhh.

Anyway. The chat tonight!!! :) I am really hoping to be there, but it depends on if Jacob will sleep ok. He is in bed now, but I just don't know how well he'll sleep tonight.

Well, Ethan has Fifth's diesease. Apparently not a big deal...contagious but still not a big deal. Just red checks and a little bit of a rash on the rest of his body that you can hardly see. No fever or itchiness.

Sally - can you send me a link for the fare for $400? I have looked everywhere and the best I can find is $504 on Continental(454 or something before taxes.)) This is making me crazy. Thanks.

I'll be back in awhile. Still feeling chatty but have to go home and all that. See ya guys soon.

Tali,
Sorry your little guy's got messed up ears. One of my three girls had horrible ear infections as a child. I was glad when we finally out grew that!
