Gooood morning my O-Fam!
hey girls, how are you all today? Hope everyone is great!
Yesterday i ended up cleaning my house- well, at least downstairs. Upstairs is just the kids rooms, the kids BR, and the "Media Room." That is half family room, half Gary's mess/office/guitar studio. I stay out of there! LOL It was nice to see it cleaned. it ain't gonna last though!
We had a crazy day in town too. On my way to work, right at the end of the street, a school bus was empty and smoking. The kids were on the lawn next door. It was the Catholic school bus and it apparently caught on fire.
Then I am driving to my school to pick Caitlyn up from her Literary Club mtg and all of these cars are stopped dead. Another car was straight across the road. I finally am able to inch up to get past and I see my friend waving me down- I am freaking! I thought she was in the accident. She had witnessed it and pulled over the help the kids and call 911.
When I get to the school, all of the kids that were still there (I was late) were talking about a car accident that closed down the main road down the mountain to the school. A car had flipped three times. I swear, I wanted to wrap Caitlyn and my car in bubble wrap!
Today I have to drive down to my MIL's (45 mins, no traffic) and I am going to be keeping my fingers crossed that it is totally uneventful!
LindaW- I bet you are in peri-menopause- no doubt. My old dr (whom I loved, and was in the Real Housewives of New Jersey) said that peri-men. can start early and last for years. Why is had to drag itself out, don't ask me. I get hot flashes at night for a week before my period. It is part Lyme and part hormones. Lyme and hormones are a bad mix.I bought some herbal tea that you are supposed to drink either right before or right after your period, but I never got around to it.
Dawn- ouch! I haven't read all the way down, so I don't know if you got your results back. But why did you wait so long, girl?? feel better!
ITA about Rx sunglasses. I have a pair for when I can't wear contacts but butt ugly is right!
Oh and Dawn and any other moms of teens/older kids.... how do you deal with the defiance??? I never really had to deal with that with Scott, not on a big level. Last night at dinner, he got out of control on an issue, and wouldn't listen, was yelling at Gary and I.... bad.... I know Gary spent quite a bit of time talking to him afterwards and I gave him a hug and told him that I knew we were angry at each other but I still loved him.
But man!! I just don't know how to get through to him.
Sandra, that is sounfortunate about the school. My school is going through *horribel* budget cuts and it is affecting the kids who need extra help. We had a Junior Kdg and a Transitional First grade, and now both have been cut. There is also a plan to cut the Reading/ Basic Skills dept.
It is so unfortunate that they did this w/o input, but I can't imagine how crazy that would have got.
Lots of luck on the job!
Hi Karen, how is everything with you?
Merkee- I still want Ginger!
How are you doing, is the back all better? We missed you here!
LindaW-- that is so aweome about scrapping yourself!!!
Clara- are you feeling any better today? Muscle relaxers like Flexeril- while they are awesome for the pain, they make my head spin too.
Good luck to you on your taco feed! If I lived by you,I'd send Scott- he could gobble up tacos like no-one!
Ona- more rain?? Oh yuck! It really does seem to me that the weather is just getting wackier and wackier. We are still cold and rainy, hello! it is June!
Hope you dry out soon!
And yes, I am getting jealous of all of you who are getting business lunches and dinners and coffee.
Dawn- ok- now I am seeing your results. Good news that it is nothing. Bad news that it is nothing. I hate that!
Hope it gets better- can you get a brace for it and try to "rest" it?
Sara- wow- that is cool that your dh would want you to stay home with Ben! but from a different perspective, he seems like he is ready to be out there in preschool. Thanks for the sweet words about being a good mom. I am sure not feeling it ATM.
Sally- LOL at Sara's editing!
Loved your and Sara's rant and perspectives. I wish that there were more people "hgher-up" that would see that.
On that note, I have time for one more quick cupp of coffee before Scott needs to get to the bus.
