The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Well, one way to wake up is to see a voicemail notification on your phone, listen to it, and hear it is from your brother asking you to call him and that he was going to call my house phone in a few minutes. No one calls me after 9 pm unless it is an emergency. I woke Gary to ask if my brother had called the house because I would have/should have heard that ring but didn't. I texted my brother and it wasn't from him. I think it was a call from when my mom was in the ER but he was super concerned about a scammer calling. The VM# I called is the same one in my contacts so who knows what happened? Either way, I was groggy and discombobulated and now I can't remember how much coffee I drank. The pot is almost empty but so is my brain. :coffee1:

As the camp counselors left the main office yesterday to meet the kids at their drop-off, I asked them all not to let anyone get hurt. They did great, at least during the time I was "Acting Health Director." :giggle4:
I spent that time outlining my HS Autumn curriculum. I have ideas and topics for all 6 weeks. Now I have to flesh them out, create the supply lists, and I am on my way. Yay!

I finally saw a monarch caterpillar!! Just the one so far, but I am cheering him on. The phlox has been a big draw for Eastern Swallowtails, Gary and I both got a few good pictures of them. The hummingbird camera got a few pics of wasps drinking from it, too. I'm hoping that the bird feeder pole arrives soon so I can rehang that camera. I checked the order status and it is logged as "Completed," but nothing about it being shipped or a tracking#.
I am not the most patient person in the world, in case you couldn't tell. *wink*

Plans for today are sort of up in the air. It was supposed to rain, and as of right now, it is just gorgeous. 71* and clear blue sky. I really, really, really should clean inside and I have a ton of backlogged scrapping tasks. But you know it-- the yard is calling to me.

Hoping that you all have a lovely day! ♥

@BoatLady I have to get some pics of the patio. Gary did such a wonderful job putting it all back together. He was/is in open of mis manic phases and was going a little nuts cutting back tree branches and dragging outdoor furniture around in the 95* weather. Over the years, I have learned to let him do his thing. ;)
Mmmm, your dinner and all of the fresh veggies sound amazing.
How is your friend doing post-surgery? Lots of healing thoughts are being sent his way.

Mark is that way when he gets focused on a mission.....there's no stopping him! He comes in totally drenched but he is really good about staying hydrated and taking breaks while downing a bottle of water! Hope you have a good day at work!
Gary's blood sugar gets wonky in the heat and I am always reminding him to drink more water. I feel like a nag, but I don't want him collapsing out there. I know you understand that.

Quick in and out as I need to get ready to go to Ilene's again today. Tomorrow I will be spending the day with my daughter. It will be the last available play date as she goes back to begin prep for school kids coming back soon. Yup! The summer is almost gone! They begin pretty early at the Christian school where their kids have all attended. Of the 3, only one left! Lizzie is hoping she can retire as soon as Abby is able to drive! She is 14, so it won't be too much longer!
NJ doesn't go back to school until Sept, usually after Labor Day unless that date is late. But never in August. Hope you had a fantastic day with your firecracker friend and have a wonderful day with DD today.
School only starts so soon because we do three weeks a month and take one week off.
I forgot that's how you scheduled school. That makes so much sense for a HS family, a break is never too far away.
While it feels busy, I dont know why as there isn't really anything going on. Got some dishes for church and washed and put them away. All ready for fall schedule to start, just need to plan the food menu later next week. Today is the only day this week I am staying home somaobe that's why it feels so busy.
That sure sounds busy to me! Hope that your brain reconnected and that you enjoyed the day.

Hugs!

First of all our friends surgery went well 3 bypasses but no need for valve so that is good. Wife and daughter are relieved so let the healing begin. He will be in hospital for a week so they will be making daily visits but lucky it's not too far.
Great day with DD yesterday lots of progress settling in the new house but still lots to organize in the bathrooms. Dinner with Mike again here in the trailer...so fun. Then I went to pick some beans so he could freeze them.
Well it rained this morning. I went out to get the trail cam to see what happened last night at our son's garden...just a raccoon who check out the electric fence then left.
Defrosting the freezer this morning. Today I am going to get a much needed haircut from ex DIL we will have lots to catch up on. Then some groceries. Since it's a rainy day I hope to do some scrapping or reading.

Have a great day

If you have an account at Wild Birds, they should've sent an email telling you your pole was shipped!
We are supposed to have cooler temps at some point, too. But only for a couple of days!

Yes! Always have a great day with Ilene and her cousin included in the mix.
Going to breakfast at my DD's after I pick up the grocery order. Then we will play games.

Glad the surgery went well for your friend!

Quick in and out,
Need to pick up my grocery order and then head to my DD's. She is fixing breakfast for us! Then we will do some game-playing. Not sure what all we will do.
Have a great day!

Morning all. Yesterday was a busy day... between finishing my laundry, DD#1 getting hers done, & both of us getting showers, the morning slipped away. I worked on a few up-coming LOs, too. DD headed back over to her son's house in late afternoon shortly before the thunder and lightening started. She called about an hour later to see if I still had power as it was off in his area. The power here had dimmed off and on several times but never went off completely. Stayed off the computer and kept the TV turned off... just read a book. The monsoon rains are back in late afternoons again for the next several days. The good news is the highs are only suppose to be around 88*-89*F! :D

Will be off and running errands early tomorrow. The quarterly Library book/DVD sale is tomorrow - DD#1 and I are going to that. Then a stop at the Friends Of Literature used books/DVD store, then to the sale @ Kolh's and pay my bill, plus a couple of other stops. We hoped to get done and back home in early afternoon.

One last hot day then they promise us some relief; it's about time. Summers are getting harder to deal with. We biked this morning and even though it was hot I was thinking about how lovely summer-ish it looked. I should have stopped to take some pics of the mountains and of the flowers at the local orchard/farmstore/tourist spot but once the bike is moving I have a hard time talking myself into stopping.

Some company from Alaska has been drowning me with ads about buying fish from them, which I'm sure I can't afford, but the picture of the halibut keeps catching my eye (or is it my appetite?) so I bought some halibut at the grocery store today. I'll have it with farro with tomatoes and pesto this evening. And a glass of wine.

For some reason I had it in my brain that July has 30 days and I've been thinking this must be August 1 until I went online to the Oscraps site to look for this month's challenges. Gotta wait a day!

An intense thunderstorm is rumbling past just to the south of us. The thunder is quite loud and I've gotten flash flood warnings on my phone but no rain here. And now when I look at the radar it seems to be going past, which is fine, we don't need more rain. I'm watering for my friend this week, and I forgot to go over yesterday, but I stopped on the way home from biking this morning and her flowers didn't die, so, whew!

Good Afternoon!! Not sure where the day went and I swore I posted here :floorlaugh: Its another hot day and after yesterdays rain it feels oppressive muggy. I think the humidity on the sensor said 98% but I think it was wrong. However a slight cross breeze through the house would be nice. My remote for the fan/light in the bedroom died and now I can either run the fan with light or nothing. :bawling: What am I suppose to do at night??? I want the fan and no lights. Mmmmmmmm @Terri M halibut....... beer batter fried and French fries  Not healthy but man yummy. Okay, now I need to see if I can book a halibut charter (dreaming) but maybe I still have some in the freezer. I'm also with you Terri, ready for the next challenges but have to wait a little longer. @vickyday Vicky already teased me about the AJ theme and its killing me to wait 7 more hours!!!! Or a tad more, depends on time zone LOL. Off to set the table, dinner is almost done. Have a wonderful night!
