The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Hellooooo and how are you all doing today? I am doing pretty ok ATM, but check back in with me in a few hours. Gary is coming food shopping with me.

I know!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!

It should be *very* -- interesting, to say the least. To make things even more "fun" he needs to get on a low-cholesterol diet. The dr called the other day with his blood work-- cholesterol levels were well into the 300's. I asked if the good chol. was ok, but I guess at that level, even the best of the good chol. isn't going to make a difference.
So yeah. Now he wants to give up eating beef and pork (ok, I can work with that) but also chicken and dairy and any processed foods.

Now, in theory I am 100% behind that-- except for the chicken since he has to get some protein because he has lost so much muscle mass over the last few years. But OMG-- how they heck am I supposed to incorporate that into dinners that everyone will eat? And be able to afford it? bah humbug!!!!!!:frusty:

And the good/bad news is that my friend that I clean for today asked if I can come next week instead. Good news cuz I am really not up to cleaning and vacuuming yet, bad news-- no money. But I am so happy to work with him, he lives two houses down from us and is a great guy. He just had part of his kidney removed due to cancer but the outlook is very, very good. His onc. feels that he was able to get everything out. Whew!!!!

And our friend that lives between our houses broke her ribs last week. Its like our street has some medical cloud over it. Its all crazy. But I keep on looking forward, no other way. :)

So besides food shopping, I think I am going to try and scrap a bit. Yesterday Gary and I watched like 4-5 hours of tv, stuff we had recorded, and my brain was mush!

Guess that is about it for me.

Temptation on Thursday
Eat all of the chocolate that is in my house!!!! :hungry:

Yesterday:

Everyone has been pretty quiet, I hope that you are all doing well and are just so busy having fun!

Phyllis- yeah, I was thinking the same thing as Trudy-- didn't you just have window guys come by a few months ago? Or did something with them get screwed up? I remember that your furniture got screwed up right?
Awww more babies!!! That is always good news :)

Trudy! Noooo, that is so sad!!! i would totally prefer the Sun over a tv too. Maybe something will pop up soon...... it has too...
How as the hair appt and visit with your sister? That has to be a rough spot for al of them, but at least her DD has a place to go.

Jane- hope your dr visit went ok for you too.
So sweet that you are enjoying your foster fur-baby. A neighbor of mine fosters puppes but I don't think I could ever get me and my kids to return them when the time came. It has to hurt, but I guess you know that they will be in a good home and that you'll get another foster fur-baby again.

Sally any news on Carmel?

Hugs to all of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

good morning O family. I feel like crap heading to the doctors wondering if my flu shot did not do the job so when I missing in action you don't know why!

Chris, here's what with the Gary Diet Conundrum: since he has some home time, get him online to find recipes that he will eat. tell him to copy them or print them out. you don't need another stressor and another job. i'm a big believer in people who want/have to eat differently having to provide the cook with some ideas!! the other thing you could do, if you end up with insurance that will cover it is get him on Lipitor. i think it's out in generic form now. the stuff is magic, if he can tolerate it. Mean Old Phylis. honestly, WHY should we have to Cook AND figure out what to cook, particularly when someone is wanting/needing something difficult to work around???

Trudy, i totally understand about having kids boomerang back home. i would rather pay the grown kid's rent than have them back home. i don't think it's healthy for anyone involved. plus, i don't want my kids to say ":hurt: if ONLY i could have had my own apartment, Then i could have (fill in the blank.)" i don't want blamed for someone making a mess of their life. wow. i'm on a mean trip this a.m.!! but it's true! boy, i sure envy you your weather. i can't remember the last time i've seen the sun here. another gray day today.

Laurie, hope you do NOT have the flu!!! take good care.

Jane, lucky you with the sun!! hope you can get some resolution to both the cough and the OA!

the window thing for me is not related to the other mess with my former kitchen garden window. that's been resolved. yesterday was just Window World coming so that i could order two replacement windows. during our cold weather, i noticed that i seemed to have had a LOT more condensation on the inside of my windows that other people on my street. i do keep the humidity around 50% inside, so that has something to do with it. but our windows are about 25 years old, so i'm asuming that there's been some new technology applied to newer windows that make them better than mine. so, i ordered two windows for my library so that i could live with them and see whether they're any better than the ones i have. we shall see....

today i really HAVE to clean my family room. it gets to be such a mess during wood stove season, and most days i just look in there and shake my head. then i walk away. really gotta address the mess. woot.

have a Super Thursday, ladies. wishing you some blue skies and sunshine! :becky:

Morning ladies... I had a horrible sleep again last night and lied in bed awake from 2:30am to 4am then fell asleep finally only to be awake again when DH got up to have his shower :mmph: tossed and turned again for a bit then fell asleep for another hour. Oh well on with the day!!

Chris - I agree with Phylis, if Gary is home and wants to eat differently then he should do the research and let the cook know what he needs! Its hard enough to figure out what everyone would like for meals without the extra stress of trying to make it all low cholestoral too!! How wonderful that your neighbour is cancer free!! What a relief for him and his family! Hope that you can make up the cleaning money with another job!

Laurie - Oh no I hope that you did not get the flu!!!! We are in a shortage of the flu shot this year and they actually got this one right for a change, this shot seems to be the right strain and is helping!! So glad I went and got mine early!! I know that Alberta is horribly short and not expecting to get anymore.

Phylis - I agree, I would rather pay the rent too, but if they needed to be back home as a last resort of course I would take them in! I know you would too!! Hope your new windows help with the humidity build up, when its so wintery outside it is nice to have some humidity or the ole body just dries right up :becky: Good luck on cleaning up your family room, sounds like as much as shoveling snow

Hope that everyone has a great Thursday and you get to do a bit of scrapping today!

good evening! It's been a crazy week, and I'm barely checking in... billing statements went out last week, so work has been a zoo this week.

Off to meet with this new attorney again tomorrow... still not crazy about him, but I'm totally out of options... he referred me to a psychologist and I met with her Tuesday night... she would like me to go to my GP and have them prescribe me an anti-depressant to help me through the emotional roller coaster I'm on, especially since I'm losing so much sleep, but I'm a little anxious about it...

Today is my sweet Piper's 10th birthday... where in the heck did the time go!? It seems like just yesterday she was born!

Okay... I'm going to get off here... the kids are home and I want to hang out with them..

hey everyone! Hope you all had a great day!
