BELRGH!!!!!!
:rollingpin1:

Of all the weather combinations we could get, this one is the worst! (That is hyperbolic, I am sure a blizzard ranks higher on the Faery's Aggravation Weather Scale). We got a tiny bit of snow overnight, and now it's pouring ice. It will stop at some point this afternoon, maybe warm up and melt a little. It's going to refreeze overnight, leaving me with no snow for the field trip tomorrow.
It's nothing but PITB weather. Pfft.

How was everyone's Wednesday? Mine went -- meh. Yeah, that would be a good description. I cleaned for my friend (good move switching days, I wouldn't be able to leave my house today). Gary was eating an egg and cheese sandwich when I got home so he made me one for lunch. It was yummy. I fought with my computer and still can't scrap because of some memory issue that neither Gary nor I can figure out. Cait picked me and the rats up to get Pigeon's lump rechecked. And then back home for dinner at 7 pm. A long day.

I need to get prepped for the field trip tomorrow. And then do a crash course on the maple sugaring program. Did I tell you that I am working a public program on Sunday? The other staff member who was asked hasn't responded yet so I don't know who I'll be working with. If it is an intern, that puts me in the "seniority" slot so I'd be doing the majority of leading it. No pressure, right??

I'm supposed to be starting my week of Tindamax today but I think it might be better to wait until tomorrow. I might need a drink, or two, or ten with dinner tonight! :drunk:

HAGD!!

Ha! Love the squirrelly bird pic. At first I thought you had dressed up one of the rats for the party!
That would have been funny! One character trait card had the pirate repeating that there were so many rats on the ship, I had to give that one to Cait to say.

The bad thing is the back and shoulders were yelling at me in the afternoon and again this morning.
That's what happens when you don't listen to me telling you to not push yourself :rotfl:
Can I get you a pegleg spinal replacement too, or would you prefer Aleve? That is what I did instead. *G*

@bcgal00 enjoy your "warm" temps today. Be careful driving on the roads too.

It is trying to snow a bit more, but we are not supposed to get too much more. I am stuck in the house again today as DH has my car. He has to go to the grocery store for me today after work if he wants his supper :giggle4: . I wonder if he will pick up the right things on the list I gave him??
If he is like my Gary, he will-- but somehow a box of chocolate donuts will end up in the cart.
Those tiny ants are a PITB, I hope that you didn't see any more of them. It has to be hard enough to balance that book, let alone read it while looking for ants at the same time.

@AK_Tracy ugh, what crummy news about the car parts.

My 2024 photo book was here when I got home Monday afternoon, but I didn't have time to look at it until yesterday. You would think that after spending a couple hours on each page, then going through them again, I wouldn't really need to look at the printed version, but it seems different somehow, pulled together on paper and bound into a book, and I loved looking through it. Motivation to keep on for my 2025 pages. I also decided that I really can't proofread 12x12 pages very well on my laptop monitor so I'm going to bite the bullet and buy a large monitor. I hope it can fit on my desk so I can see it. Best Buy has one on sale I can pick up this afternoon.
That must feel wonderful to be able to hold your LOs in your hands. I hope that keeps the mojo and motivation going all year long!
:woohoo: about the new monitor! Were you able to get the one you wanted? It will make scrapping so much easier for you!
so I don't hold much faith in my sense of humor at the moment.
Gallows humor-- uh huh. :nod1: If I didn't have gallows humor, I'd have none at all.

Thank you! Yes, 10 is young on the old scale. Most can go 10-13. In update news, he passed away in the night and is no longer suffering.
I am soooo sorry. :hug3: Although, I am relieved that he isn't suffering and that you and the family didn't have to make that difficult decision. IMHO- that is harder than the loss itself in so many ways. :brokenheart:

Ilene and I had a great day together, of course!
When she came at 9:20, my stomach was telling me it was not ready for food. So I asked her if she minded waiting for an hour or so to go to Ruby Tuesday instead. Their 12.99 salad bar was on special today for 7.99. We love their salad bar. So she was willing to wait. In the mean while, we played 2 games of Qwirkle. After we came home.....more Qwirkle
Sounds like a fantastic day. How is your stomach doing, all calmed down for now?

Guess I need to get something to eat and get to work. Should I have pancakes and maple syrup for inspiration? :D

Nah. Too much work.
Cereal it is.

That's what happens when you don't listen to me telling you to not push yourself :rotfl:

You are so right, Chris... I should not have pushed myself but couldn't stand looking at the dirty kitchen floor. At least I stopped there and didn't do the rest of the tile floors in the bathrooms and entry hall. Will give the back/shoulders a few days rest before tackling those areas. Already have a "spinal replacement"... sort of... 5 surgeries with the last one having rods and pins put in. I am using the heat in the massager unit to relax the back instead of taking meds as I have taken a lot of NSaids in the past.

So sorry your area is getting hit with the ice storm.... be careful traveling to work with the roads so icy!!!

Woke up way to early again... 4:30 AM. Tossed and turned and finally got up at 5:30. Yes, the back and shoulders are still talking to me. Waiting for the house to warm up enough to get in a nice HOT shower and that should help some. Have several errands to run between today and tomorrow. Spreading them out so I am not standing walking too much. Tomorrow is the quarterly Book/DVD sale at the local library so plan on doing that one.

Good thing that I peeked outside when I got up... I forgot it is trash pickup day. So there I was at 6AM (32*F - dark outside) in my PJs and robe rolling the bin out... :takingouttrash: Thank goodness there are wheels on the bin!!! They usually show up around 7AM so couldn't wait until later.

I'm with you Chris, BAD NJ weather at the moment with the icy rain. Grrrrrrr... I was reading an article last night that referred to us expect a few more snow/storms in the next week. It was titled, "NJ's Parade of Storms". Not happy here! :cold:

Morning ladies... its a very grey and cloudy day today! We are supposed to get a bit more snow, but hopefully not too much more! My arms are sore from shovelling already! We do have a snowblower, but our driveway is far too steep for me use it. I can snow blow down, but can't get the darn thing back up the hill :giggle4: . Anyway the driveway is clear of snow now and DH has my car again, his truck is buried under two or more feet of snow. I feel like a prisoner on my own home! It would be nice to get out of the house today, but most likely that won't happen. The sidewalks and pathways I usually go on for a walk are all slick and icy, so no nice long walk for me today either. I don't know how my DD does it, being stuck inside all week long, unless a friend or her MIL or SIL come and take her somewhere. However she seems to be content enough. Wish I was closer so I could spend more time with her! Anyway I will be able to spend some more time working on a layout for one of the challenges today. I got a pre-release done yesterday and it sparked my creative juices a bit so hopefully I can get something done today! Oh there goes my phone, gotta go, back later for personals!

Good morning ladies. I was trying to finish up my book, almost done but can't sit any longer. I need to shower, get Remi out for a walk and then head over to the center for mahjong for the afternoon. Then home for a bit and then off to pub night with a group. No scrapping for me today.

@faerywings Hope G figures out the problem with the computer. Prepping for the field trip tomorrow will keep you busy.

@taxed4ever Wasn't sure about your reply yesterday but then realized you thought I said "kananaskis" country but I had said "canasta" the card game. Both are fun but in different ways :) Glad your snow stopped, weird weather in BC (and pretty much everywhere).

Read an article about the northern hawk owl sightings here in town, they are not usually here, they might be around for a few wks. Many years can go by without them being in our area, it all depends on their food source, if it gets scarce they migrate out of their normal areas. I'll have to keep my eyes open, maybe take a drive around on the wkend. They differ from most owls, going out during the day rather than sleeping. It would be very cool to spot one.

I need to shower and get Remi out before we leave for the day. Hope you all have a great day.

I'm afraid to say it but we are having another stellar day it's sunny, light breeze, low humidity and 85 degrees. I hope all of you in the terrible weather will soon be done with it.

@taxed4ever they delivered the snow to the wrong place that is for @AK_Tracy

Went to the dentist for a cleaning...all is well. Hubby had new tires put on the trailer Cha ching but we do not like to take any chances and those were 3 years old. Then we went out for Mexican lunch. We are making plans for tomorrow to go to Clearwater to visit my friend who had the brain aneurysm --making progress may go to rehab in a few days.

@AK_Tracy --oops more parts...my dad called cars Mechanical Monsters!! But we need them. Good luck. Rubber seals fail very fast here in Florida because of the heat perhaps your cold affects them too.

@BrightEyes sorry for your pains...nothing worse than chronic pain. I'm wishing you the best.

@faerywings good luck with the maple syrup project. My dad used to make it with all of us kids. Then when Jay and I had our big house we used to tap our trees and make some for ourselves...just a fun thing to clean up the sticks in the yard after winter and be outside for the boiling. Our son makes it every year now but he makes a couple gallons so it's a bigger operation. It was always fun for our family and he carries on the tradition with his family and friends. Let us know how your project goes.

Off to look for new recliners...I hate shopping so wish us luck.

Too funny Rae!! Yes i thought you meant Kananaskis Country :giggle4:

Good afternoon!!
@BoatLady Debby you crack me up! Snow delivered to the wrong place :floorlaugh:
Yes cold is bad for rubber seals but nowhere near as bad as heat. I have had the car since '11 and this is the first rubber seal failure so I would count it good.

Life got away from this morning and I didn't even do anything. I worked out and sat in the sauna but not sure what else. Waiting for DD to drop the grands for the afternoon.

I am loving the extra daylight!!! 8 1/2 hours of daylight now!!!! WOOO HOOOO!!!!! Off to read a book! Have a wonderful evening! Dont have too many Chris!!! @faerywings :drinks2::drinkbuddies:

Coming in at the end of a long work day. I'm pretty busy at work these days which is a switch from the norm. Makes the day go by pretty quick. My promotion was finally announced which means I don't have to keep it quiet any more. I'm so excited for this progression of my job! Still waiting to hear on hubby's interview. They're keeping us waiting for sure. The kids are doing well after Tucker's passing. It hit my son the hardest. I hope everyone had a good day. See you tomorrow!

I hate the weather is not cooperating with your HS schedule of events!

Not entirely settled. I just have to watch how much I eat when I do feel like my stomach can handle it! Its just a nuisance!

In here late again after spending the day with Ilene!
My stomach was up for breakfast, so we stopped by Mark's shop and picked him up to go with us.
Then we dropped him back at work and went to Save-a-Buck. Got some good deals and took them to her house to put away since we had gotten some freezer things. Then came back here for the rest of the day. And you already know what we did. Qwirkle madness, LOL! Mark even played a couple of games with us after he got home. And then Ilene left before it got dark.

Mark and I did our nightly devotions before he headed to the woods with Piper. He was planning on fixing kielbasa over the fire and heat up some potato soup. I'm getting ready to fix some Panera Bread Broccoli and Cheddar soup to eat. Then I want to do some more ATC work and possibly another challenge.

Have a great evening!
