You know that you are in pain when...

...You dream about having x-rays done and the dr says that your shoulder is really messed up.
I would :pound: but that would make it hurt worse.

I would  but I would have a hard time getting up.

I will simply do this

My bursitis and muscle spasms in my shoulder and shoulder blade area have gotten really bad this week. Last night I was snuggling on top of Ray while watching TV and when I had to push myself up, I didn't think I could do it. I couldn't even roll off the sofa cuz W was on my legs/feet. No way was I going to hurt the dogs even if it took my breath away from the pain. Priorities.

The weather here was a-may-ZING! It got up to 75* here. It was 72* inside my house and even had windows open. Newark, NJ, the city where Nancy goes to see her Devils (notice how I always say "her" Devils LOL) broke 80* It was nice to be outside with the dogs and Gary and I attempted to take W and J on a short walk. We decided that we are going to need training for W. She is unruly on a leash off of our property. She was trying so hard to pull that when Gary had her close on the lease, she literally didn't even have her front paws on the ground. It was comical at the same time horrifying that she was choking herself. Not really choking but the type of collar we use, Martingale, tightens as they pul. It is a humane version of a choke collar. Anyway, the trainer that we used for J was fantastic so if she does group sessions again, I am going to sign her up for that.
I feel bad. When we first got her, she was so wild and unsocialized. Our focus was on getting her to trust is and to get along with R and J. Then it got cold and she is for the most part well behaved in the house. Yeah, she still steals shoes and drinks Gary's coffee if he leaves it within reach but that is more typical puppy stuff. I don't think I trust her whatsoever to come if called or to sit/stay if there are other distractions. She obviously doesn't get "walk nice." :dogwalk:

So I cleaned, tried to walk the 2 Maniacs. Spent over 45 minutes trying to input information on one piece of Tax info that came in the mail. Every darn year I go through this. My dad bought a few shares of PSE&G stock when I was born. It is not a lot-- wouldn't help me a darn bit if my well or septic broke, but comes in handy when we have something like excessive vet bills. I sold a few shares last year and I needed to claim that as income. Two of the boxes on the Tax Form were not reported- one being the price of the stock when it was originally purchased- ok that was in 1968. Online info only goes back to 1996 so I had to use the 1996 price as part of the Cost Basis. (what am I blabbering about this????)
OK. what I was getting at was that it took me 45 minutes to add one small bit of info into Turbo Tax.
I also spoke to my Dr who again said to ignore the bill and to not go for the second MRI until we know more. Since my Mammo was good, she doesn't want me to risk getting another bill. Whew!!!

Today I am going to work a bit more on these darn taxes. My goal is to get the medical deductions entered. That is always a pain but not as bad as the years that I was on IV meds and all 4 of us were seeing LLMDs. I think we had close to $30,000 in deductions. That was insane.

We also are going to give Ray a bath. She hates them. But she hasn't had one ion a long time and she is stinky and has that oily Labrador fur. I don't want to put her in my mom's new ca that way.

have a fab day and hope that the weather cooperates with you all!

Nancy- So sorry for the hockey confusion. You have had issues with mobile tickets before? Wish they would sort that out better. I did see the headline that USA women hockey team won! Did you get to watch any of it?
Hope you and Luther had a fun time outside yesterday.

Trudy- please tell me that you didn't go on the hike yesterday. It sounds like it would have been rough going. Poor little Hunter- so hard when babies have colds, but it sounds like it isn't keeping him down.
Christopher had a lot of anxieties at Mason's age and he did grow out of them. He didn't like new places or people. All of his preschool "shows" would have him running off in tears looking for his mom. He would not talk to people. Now he is a lot different. Maybe Mason just needs time?
I don't think that the park will dry up soon as we are going to have rain and sleet the new few days. Ugh.

Rae- 21* is freezing. Must feel even worse when it is colder than you are used to.
You are the shopping queen!!!! Love that you are so happy with your clothes.

Jean- the poor plants must be so confused but how hopeful to see a snowdrop!
I am going to miss the sun and warmth we had yesterday too but hopefully, it will be back before we know it.

Hi Felis- happy Thursday! We have a gloomy weather day here too but I don't want to clean. ;)
That is wonderful to hear that your spring party was a lot of fun!

::grouphug to all!

good morning - OMgosh what a great hockey day for me. First the USA women won gold. Sorry Trudy but you in Canada have had it for 20 years. I could only stay up until the end of the first but it was 1-0 so I had a good feeling. My son came in at 6am and told me USA won. How cute! But the best was the reuniting of the a-line of the NJ Devils. Remember how much trouble I had getting the mobile tickets. Well Carol spent a good 20 min tryin to download the ticket but she finally did while waiting in line. Then we get in through security and they give us paper tickets as the mobile reader is not working. I could not believe it. LOL . There were only about 300 people. The a-line was the most scoring line for the Devils ever. And they were all so handsome, Jason Arnott, Petr Sykora and of course Patrik Elias. It was great to see and you feel just how much they like each other and how well they played together. We got lots of behind the scene stories. It was really a fun night. Took my DIL and our girlfriend Carol and were met there by Trudy who is the president of the Devils fan club. It was fun to be with others who loved the a-line. There were not a lot of people but really not surprising as it has been 18 years since they won the Stanley Cup and a lot of fans probably too long ago. But it was my favorite of the the 3 Cups the Devils have one. I stayed up all alone late into the night at it was won in double OT. It was worth it. Tonight I have another game Devils vs the Wild. I really dislike this team and I really don't even want to see them play but I do want to see my Devils defeat them. It will be a yucky drive as we are in the midst of a rain system that should last all weekend. This is so sad as yesterday was so nice. Luther and I were out for a good walk. It was so nice. I was way over dressed. But now back to winter reality.

Chris omgosh that is so terrible about your shoulder. And yes I know what you mean about not disturbing the pets. I am the same way as I never want to disturb my cat at night when I have to get up to go to the bathroom but I always do. Luckily she always come back. That is some dream - maybe you should have your shoulder looked at. Good luck with the taxes and enter the med deductions - I cant imagine $30,000 and I am sure there are others with lots more. Glad you got out to enjoy the warm weather.

Felis so glad you had a great party. Bummer about the rain coming but it that helps cleaning then good. I do love my electronics but sometimes the Devils reps just make it seem even harder LOL.

Trudy I am sorry I do not have messenger on facebook so I did not respond. But it was a great game for the USA. I wonder if the heart break for the losing team would be less if there were other women's teams that sometimes won. But to be so close location wise and to have some of the women play on the same college teams must make the team who loses feel even worse. As others have said if the weather was for ice hope the hike did not happen.

Rae so glad that you got your clothing karma to continue. And yes I have slacked horribly on my food pages. I still have the photos just not put them together for scrapping. I should do it as a monthly page not a weekly page.

Jean I am like you I was hearing birds everywhere as Luther and I had our walk. Now I want more warm days. Not sure it is fair to give us one day of nice weather and then take us back to winter. I saw that all the MLB teams will be wear baseball caps with the Douglas high school patch. Then they will be autographed and auctioned off and money to Broward county education I think.

Have a great day all!

Morning O-zies, well it is a winter wonderland out there this morning, so pretty but ugh I do not want to have to shovel my very steep driveway this morning! Hopefully it will warm up enough to just melt it all away. Had an early facetime talk with Heather this morning, poor little Hunter is still so constipated and it has been a few days now, so she is trying prune juice and hopefully that will do the trick! Then last night she said that Mason told them that he wants to take the bus to school with his friend, hooray!! He is doing a few more things that he would never even consider before. I think you are right Chris, he just needs a bit more time and he will catch up with all the others. So I guess Heather now needs to get a form signed from the doctor stating that she is unable to drop him off or pick him up at the bus, that way he will be able to have the bus come right to their house. How great would that be?? I finally got the page done for my sister and now have a few more to get done. Not too much happening around here. I will go tot he pool this morning and then this afternoon I need to hit the grocery store yet again. Seems I spend half my life at the grocery store :mmph:

Chris - Ouch on your shoulder! It must have really been bothering you in order to be dreaming about it! Perhaps it is the crazy changes in the weather that is making your bursitis so bad?? I am sure that trying to handle the dogs while walking is not helping it either. Hope that you can get W into doggy training, sounds like everyone would benefit from it! No I did not go on the hike yesterday, it was just too cold and I know that it would have been a very slippery hike! Hope you manage to get your tax info all figured out and then you can get ready for your relaxing weekend get away!

Felis - I know I am crazy for not having a good winter coat, but it just seems like I am not out in the cold that much and I prefer to wear lots of layers when I hike. I just didn't have warm enough layers for this cold weather! I do still have my winter coat from when I lived in the prairie, but it is really old and ugly LOL. Usually this time of year we are wearing raincoats, not winter coats.

Nancy - DH and I stayed up and watched the entire Hockey game last night, we kind of figured that the US women would win, they wanted it more I think and you are right we had the gold for many years! I just wish they would not have had to lose it in a shootout! I hate shootouts! The game should have been won by Canada in the third period, but of course one mistake and a breakaway for the US did them in. Oh well it was great game! Thats the trouble though, there always has to be a losing team LOL. Sounds like you had a great time with your Devils and how frustrating to have so much trouble getting the tickets!

Rae - Did you get lots of snow last night?? We got about an inch more last night, but DH told me that the roads were very slippery this morning. Hope that your hummers come back to your feeder, it must be very cold for the poor little guys and I am sure that they just try to not fly around too much and keep warm in their nests. Thanks for the offer on your coat LOL , I just really need to suck it up and buy myself a new one :becky:

Jean - Isn't it nice that you were out and about in the warm spring like weather! Nice to hear so many birds too. Yes Mason needs to get over his fears, but I am sure it will happen eventually for him, he is changing every day and sometimes surprises the heck out of his Mom and Dad by trying new things that he would never have done before. I guess kids are all so very different, good thing I suppose or wouldn't life be boring LOL.

Ok I am off to get my swimsuit packed and hit the pool, hopefully the roads have gotten less slippery by now. Need to make my grocery list too :mmph: Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, ladies. The sun is shining but it's going to remain cold. Woke up to 17°....too cold for even Taz. He refused to go to pee and still hasn't gone so I'm pretty sure when he wakes up from his nap (at my feet under my desk) he will need to get out.

We got about 4" more last night and the roads were very icy and slippery. 4 accidents happened along the 10 minute drive to pick up Taz at daycare, all of them smashing other cars and going into the ditch. One car was in someone's front yard. I almost didn't make it into the parking lot at the daycare. I coasted slowly towards the turn to the driveway and then slowly hit the brake to come to a complete stop before turning but even doing that wasn't good enough. My car just would not stop, it was heading right into the ditch off the road. I saw another car that was about to turn out of the parking lot into the driveway to leave (which is only one very narrow lane) and I just prayed that he would have the sense to stop and let me come in otherwise it would be a headon collision b/c the lane drops off narrowly into a ditch on both sides so no where to go except head into each other. So I focused on the driveway, steering toward it and as the car kept sliding sideways, going to the ditch, I think I just closed my eyes and prayed. When I opened my eyes I was on the narrow driveway, my car had spun sideways onto the lane and I was safe. The other driver had stopped, seeing what was happening and stayed out of the way. My heart was pounding. I had been going super slow but I'm pretty sure going straight down into the ditch would have caused a lot of damage and may have flipped my car upside down (as I saw with a few of the other cars). Whew. That was scary. But we made it home safely. The weather doesn't look like it will change much in the next 7-10 days so I won't be making any long trips anywhere.

So, that was my crazy night. I came home, got my warm jammies on, make some banana muffins and watched Big Brother. I was worn out.

Today is lots of work and chores. So won't be online too much today.

Chris - so sorry you are in so much pain this week. I hope you will get to enjoy your trip this wkend and feel better.

Nancy - sounds like you are enjoying all the sports this week.

Trudy - be careful if you shovel the driveway. Sure hope Heather gets authorization for Mason to get picked up at the house.

I didn't realize the time and I'd better get back to work. Grabbing another coffee and getting back to it. Have a great day everyone.

Olympics were pretty exciting yesterday. I saw the OT and SO of the women's hockey game and that was something. Agree that shootouts are a let down for all. The two teams are really close in some ways. I'm pretty sure one of the Canadians went to Ohio State. Tough to have only one able to win. Also notable was two US women winning a gold in a cross country event, a first. Boy did they work for that one. Last night a little white accumulated on surfaces (not sure it was exactly snow) but it's above freezing now and almost sunny, so that stuff is gone. Next up groceries.

Felis, too bad it wasn't spring like for the party, but glad it was fun. Hope you are still enjoying this week off and will be ready to work the weekend.

Chris, can't imagine how bad the shoulder must be to intrude on your dreams. Is there anything to alleviate some of the pain? Walking the dogs sure isn't one of them! Tax data is such a pain. Especially when you have to gather it from so many sources (and don't have the cost basis.) I don't do ours until later when we usually get a revised statement from one source.

Nancy, how nice to get such a nice time with the players. You really get the most from your fan program. Hope the Devils win tonight. It is normal for some birds to start singing in February here, but that warm weather sure had lots more of them going.

Trudy, glad you didn't try the hike yesterday. Mason sure seems to be getting adjusted if he wants to ride the bus. If it can pick him up at the house it will be even easier. Kids really are still a bit of a mystery as to what makes them tick. Hope you didn't have to work too hard on the shoveling. Must still be warmer here.

Rae, what a frightening drive! So glad you came out of it safe and sound. For sure don't travel much if it's like that. Poor Taz not going out when it's so cold.

Hope everyone is fine today.

Actually I like the rain. Sometimes when world is really quiet and the rain really intense, can listen his rhythm on the roof and it's like a lullaby. People have to plan days like this, I have to plan more days like this! Only with long sleep and cleaning. Most people think that in the leisure time have to make fun things, but I can't sleep enough in my regular schedule. And unlike the rain, which is the best thing at hot summer, but not so much for earth wich expect the snow, mud is unpleasant side effect. Only if you are saw floor so dirty that your first reaction is to stay for a little and to breathe deeply or will start to cry, can understand why clean up have to be also part of one leisure day (wich happen easy at muddy weather). Till slowly, methodical scrubbed this floor and it's become shine, part after part, at least for awhile feels like you have a control on this life. A life where after will receive one news for birth and another for a loss a friend. But tens good news are needed and even then they can compensate one bad news. Strange how they comes at same day, from different direction of the country. :tape2:

Jean, good that you have a fun with the Olympics! My country play so weak that is boring even to check their results, which I usually do.

Rae, it's so scary event to read your description! Nasty icy! Glad that you're alright! Its sounds like a good decision to not take a long trips for a while!

Trudy, of course I'm jealous for the snow, I think no needs to say that  ! I'm fan of wearing few layers tool, which gives me control on every temp. But past few year I give more importance on a bought new jackets, because at autumn and winter this is the visible part of my outfit (and may be because I already have few very warm sweater). So I still wonder of you :) . Yes hooray for Mason! For constipation I know also 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 teaspoon lemon juice (together to have a taste) on an empty stomach in the morning and again before going to bed if is necessary. Maybe the fruits work for stomach which is not familiar with them, but not for vegetarians  .

Nancy, your hockey night sounds awesome! Yay, for the bether tickets! Ugh, our weather is the same like yours, after we saw the Spring previous week, this isn't stop to rain and it's feel so much colder than with snow, maybe because we gonna wet.

Chris, ouch this for your shoulder sounds really painful. I hope you feels better! I realise your condition makes the things more complicated. But I really founds my shoulders relieved from daily pressure after doing yoga. Just telling.
As I'm told before I had only yard's dogs so this is my first experience with dog training, they are so different than cats, which just understand what you shows them. But this show "My big fat pet" by Travis Brorsen, gives me a great ideas, it's not only for feeding. If you can catch it somewhere I'm sure it's worth it to watch it!

Ok, sleep well my dears! See you soon!
