HelllllOooo!
How are the O-zies this morning?

I am a little tired and a little brain-foggy-scattered but not terribly bad. Yesterday was one of those days with best laid plans going *** over tea kettle.
I had just finished my yoga session (stress-release was the focus, hehehe), when I saw my BFF had sent me a text--she had gotten THE call from her mom's hospice nurse. BFF was fine. It had been a long time coming, since her mom had been in hospice since the end of June. But still, she needed to do all of the arrangements and asked if I would meet her at the funeral home. She took care of all of that, and then we went to clean out her mom's room. I teased her that she must have broken a speed record. She got the call at 5.15 am and by 1.30 pm, everything was completed. Arrangements are set for tomorrow, the outfit picked out, the room emptied, and the financial paperwork/final payment to the center have been submitted.

I was glad I could be there for her. We had a few laughs and a few tears. But more a sense of relief. She isn't having a wake/service. Just she and her DH are meeting at the cemetery for interment in the vault since she doesn't have any other family. Her kids have no love lost for her mom, she wasn't very nice to them (or to my BFF).

Needless to say, everything I had planned for yesterday is getting pushed to today. Today was supposed to be Jaida's surgery, but we still haven't gotten the ball rolling on scheduling the new one. Gary and I need to call this morning. The next few days are going to be a little chaotic but what is a little more chaos? I laugh in the face of chaos!

I would love to catch up on some of the challenges. I really wanted to do the ATC yesterday, but maybe today? (doubtful!)
I have a better chance of doing Vicky's challenge. She made it uncomplicated, which I like and need! LOL:

Wishing all of you the best day ever!

Not much going on here today. I was going to Ilene's but not with this headache. With the Persnickety order there was a card announcing a 25% off sale so I want to have all of my pages for 2025 done and ready to order that first week of January during the sale.
Awesome news about Persnickety, I know you have had such good results with them and having a good sale/coupons makes that even better!
Hope your headache is better today!

Yo @Buddy the O' Elf ! Welcome to the Oooos! I love your new avi too.

Good morning. I have a big mystery...how did I work and get all the things done? Because now that I don't work, I don't get anything done. Of course, I read more now and I cook more now. And I nap more too! And I scrap more. Well, how about that? @:rotfl:Mystery solved!
:floorlaugh: All good things that you deserve on your retirement!
So I'm going to be practicing embracing the unknown in 2026! LOL
Let me know how that goes ;)

I had a hitch put on my car today so we can take the bikes with us to Florida when/if we go next month.
That's awesome! I hope that all of the timing works out for your trip and David's surgery but I am sure that the hitch won't go to waste if you can't use it in January.
:highfive: on dropping that many sizes!
Smart idea for the angel gifts and non-Target option.
For a couple years I volunteered with an organization that monitored stream health by collecting and counting the bugs in various places. I never could get any good at identifying them, they all look the same to me.
That is one of my favorite field trip rotations and one of the reasons I had to change my contact prescription. I'd have to ask the kids how many tails they saw on some of the smaller critters. I tried to phrase it so it sounded like *I* knew but wanted them to check it out. Meanwhile, I was lucky if I even saw the darn thing at all.

I struggle too. I get stuck on Stunning! LOL But if I'm commenting on a layout its usually because I found it stunning.
Uh-huh!! I use stunning quite a bit, too!
I almost never change out of my birks but yesterday, yeah needed extra tread.
Yikes!!
How was the church dinner? Feeling pretty ok? Hope you rested and stayed off your feet whenever it was possible.

Our area is now under a weather alert... may have snow tonight and into tomorrow.
Hope that the weather cooperates and that whatever snow you get melts off the roads quickly.

Your comments about snow make me laugh. I love to see pic's of snow. I can relate to all the comments, especially the mess as it thaws. How nice that you have your tree up and can enjoy it, did @Buddy the O' Elf help you?
I am a rip-roaring blast with my cranky comments about snow. Bwuahahaha!
I invited Buddy to help but I think he was busy here. Good thing my hubby is tall and can reach the top of the tree.

Tomorrow I have PT then I see the surgeon for follow-up I hope to be done with PT.
Fingers and toes crossed for the all clear! PT is such a PITB, even though it is necessary.

xoxo to you all!

I needed uncomplicated,, too, when I was creating the challenge, Chris! However, the surprise was that Ona moved it to today instead of being Day 6 as originally planned. Agata couldn't do today. I'm glad mine was done. I'm heading to Ilene's so I'll have to catch up to commenting later today.
Sorry to hear about BFF's mom, but sounds like it is for the best! I was glad Tim only spent 6 hours in the Hospice facility! If I had known it was going to be so soon, I would never have moved him from the hospital. Oh well!

Thanks, Chris. The headache is better but not completely gone.

Quick in and out. Heading to Ilene's for the day. She is going on a cruise beginning Saturday. We were supposed to get together yesterday, but that didn't happen with the headache I had all day. It is better today, just not completely gone, so no bending over for me, LOL!
I was surprised to wake up to having my Day 6 challenge moved to today. But, no problem since it was ready. I just had to quickly upload my page to the gallery and switch out the jpg in the challenge thread.
I need to go to the store first to grab some things for Mark who will be on a restricted diet due to having an endoscopy tomorrow. So I'm off and running!
Have a great day and fun with the challenges!

Busy, busy, busy.... Scrapped and uploaded a couple of new released LOs this morning...

We got less than an inch of snow last night... just enough to cover the roof tops. The mountains and passes got a lot more so they have beautiful snow caps on them. The roads are mainly clear - not icy so it is safe to make a quick trip to the post office.

@faerywings Sorry to hear about your BFF's mom's passing. So glad you were able to go be with your BFF and give her love and support as she delt with what must be done.

@LSlycord I had to LOL... my DH said the same thing ...."how did I work and get all the things done? Because now that I don't work, I don't get anything done." Glad to hear you are getting more books read, etc... I am enjoying the book club - so thanks for getting me started with it. I won't have all of 2025 done... but that is okay.

@vickyday I saw your challenge was moved early but glad it was done so they could slip it into the needed one for today. Need to take another quick look at it later on today.

@BoatLady So glad to hear you are doing so well... and that PT may be ending... just keep up with the home PT stuff.

Time to get a :showering:and dressed. BBL

I met with county Parks & Rec staff to plan a new trail. Since it was only a couple miles away I biked; not quite as cold this morning. I was quite cozy in my 5 layers: fleece base layer, cotton tee shirt, fleece vest, insulated coat liner, windbreaker coat layer. I like to bike for short errands because it's good for the earth, but sometimes it takes a bit of talking myself into it!

It took me forever to do yesterday's challenge, I've only done card-sized projects once or twice before, so I really don't have a feel for what to do. Plus I don't like the antique-y looking style which so many of the cards seem to use, so I had to think about it a lot. I'm not really happy but don't have time to re-do; need to move on to today's challenge before tonight's meeting.

The trucks were out spraying brine on the streets this morning, as we're expecting snow tonight. I hope it really is snow, and not ice. I also hope David decides he doesn't need to drive into work at Habitat tomorrow morning, I'll probably be able to talk him out of it. Crossing my fingers for that.

I finished the audiobook I was listening to. It's the first in a series and now I'm dying to hear the second, but I'm still waiting for it from the library. I should just switch to podcasts for a while, I suppose.

@faerywings I'm sorry about your friend's mother; I'm sure it gave her great comfort to have you with her yesteday.

@AK_Tracy Good luck with your first day back - I hope you let other people jump in - a lot!

Good late morning O!

She got the call at 5.15 am and by 1.30 pm, everything was completed. Arrangements are set for tomorrow, the outfit picked out, the room emptied, and the financial paperwork/final payment to the center have been submitted.
Chris. :heartpumppink: I'm so sorry. Even when its expected its hard. SO glad you could be there for BFF.

Yesterday went well. It was crazy busy. I did sit after grocery shopping/putting away and ate my lunch. Usually I skip it and get busy. But I intentionally sat 30 minutes and enjoyed my food. I was good cooking, just slightly slower and I did let my helper do a lot, which she usually does anyway. Then about 3 I decided I needed to sit down. It had been three hours. It hurt to sit. As long as I was moving it was fine but sitting made my hip joint and down the side. I sat ten minutes and had to get up. We made three roaster pans (22qt eacc) of chili and I didn't lift them at all. We used a cart to wheel them out to the dining room. Someone else lifted them onto the tables. Then the left overs I had one of the men move it for me. We were short handed for serving (which we only do because it was hot liquid not casserole) and then super short handed with cleaning/dishes. Its as a long night and at 6:45p when we were almost done I asked the dishwashers if they minded if I left. I needed to sit and eat. They were wonderful and said leave. They were almost done anyway, probably 5 minutes left maybe 10. It was a great night. I am not near as sore as I expected to be today which is a nice surprise.

Sat in the sauna today. Felt great to warm through all the way and just relax. Today will be slow and easy maybe a grocery trip since I haven't done that all month LOL

Have a wonderful day! I'm off to check out yesterday and todays challenges.

Good afternoon. Which is exceedingly difficult for me to write! Seriously, it is after noon!?!!

It is still freezing here. Literally. It's 16 degrees and sunny. Which isn't really that terrible. But it has me so stressed about moving Sydney out of her apartment on the 20th of the month. Like, I didn't know that it would be cold. Of course it will be cold. It is December in Minneapolis! I just need to stop worrying about it because it sure isn't going to change anything!

Next week I have a doctor's appointment on Monday, a colonoscopy on Tuesday and a teeth cleaning on Wednesday. That sounds terrible to me. I think I may re-schedule that teeth cleaning on Wednesday until after the first of the year. :rolleyes1:

I was glad I could be there for her. We had a few laughs and a few tears. But more a sense of relief.
Oh Chris, I am so sorry for your friend but I am very glad that you could be there for her. Death is hard...even if it was expected.

However, since I was at Kohls, I decided to try on a pair of jeans just for laughs, and was shocked that I can wear a size 16, so I of course had to buy them. I've gone from 22W to 16 in 4 months, and I have about 3 things in my closet that don't look sloppy when I put them on.
Wow! That is a terrific weight loss Terri. Congratulations!

@LSlycord I had to LOL... my DH said the same thing ...."how did I work and get all the things done? Because now that I don't work, I don't get anything done." Oh Kay! I'm getting lots of reading done!

I need to go to the store first to grab some things for Mark who will be on a restricted diet due to having an endoscopy tomorrow.
Glad that the headache is better and that you get to spend some time with Ilene today! Hope Mark's endoscopy goes well today.
Sat in the sauna today. Felt great to warm through all the way and just relax.
Glad that the sauna helped. I'm sure the relaxing will be good.

Tomorrow I have PT then I see the surgeon for follow-up I hope to be done with PT
I hope that PT is done! That will feel good to be able to concentrate on that kitchen remodel!

@bcgal00 I am so sorry about D's hospital stay but it is good that they are taking it seriously!

I made it very easy on purpose, Kay! This time of the year is so busy for everyone I didn't want anyone to have to think about their page very hard! ;)
