Daily Ooo's Thursday April 2

The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
hey guys- it is Thursday-getting closer to the weekend!

Thank you for the hugs and good thoughts on the job situation. We spoke to the lawyer handing the Disability case yesterday. Gary asked if there was any way we could put a "rush" on our hearing. It typically takes 12-18 months to get a hearing from the time you file. We started this in Aug 08. He was told that the only time you can request your hearing to be moved up is if you
1. Are in foreclosure
2. Cannot afford your medical treatment and that the result would be *terminal.*
Even then, they rarely agree.
How insane is that? Its like the system completely works against you!
I had the same issue trying to get food stamps- they won't give you food stamps in NJ unless you have less than $2000 in total assets- including my kids "college funds" They barely have that inthere ATM, but it will come back and I am not about to take that away from them just for a $100 a month. Thank goodness my family helps out with bringing up food and the kids get the free school lunches. But seriously- we are trying so hard *not* to become a statistic, but they seem to want us to be one.

Anyway..... :)

Thanks D! I think I am going to start swimming to you on Sunday- it is supposed to rain until then.... don't want to get "extra" wet

ME-- LOL at Christian- cookies-- mmmmmm!

Hi Dawn!

Kristin- you'll have to take pics of your quilting progress. And if you need help- I know Sally is an excellent quilter too.

Yam, Happy Belated B-day to your DH! I am so sorry about your job loss too. It is just so hard-- I hope that you can find something. I am guessing Argentina's economy isn't much better than ours :(

Karen-- good luck with your busy month!

Mmmmm Donuts! Thanks Merkee-babe!

Sally, you new website looks FAB!!!! And you inspired me to put F-W's Apothecary up as a business on FB too. That is on my to-do list. Thx!
And have I ever told you how you crack me up? Christmas cards on April fools? You are awesome!!

Lia- Oooh I loooove Sue's word art too- she rocks!!! Happy anniversary!

Stephie- thx for the recipe! I used to do a lot of baking with whole wheat flour. A mix with other flours is usually better- not quite so dense. Also I would throw in grounf flax seed and wheat germ. If you are allowed in that diet, try that! Also can you use splenda? A bit of Splenda in baking works good too.

Clara- OMG- whata day!!!! You know I am so with you on the insurance thing.... and referrals and drs that have no clue! ((((hugs))) and I hope that things work out.
I picked out the card yesterday and the actual basket (actually, I bought 2 baskets to see which one everything fit better in ;))The card is gorgeous! Very earthy with an eagly flying, like a painting! I'll try to scan itso you can see. Today is getting the tea, I have to hit the health food store to get empty capsules for one of the kids' med's. They need to dissolve in the lower intestine so I have to double seal them. And they need 1/2 doses so I have to open up all of the capsules and divide them yay.
oops, sorry! Back to you! Hope that you had a nice time with your friend!

And never stop writing- I love reading what you have to say!

Tali- I am guessing that you won't see this but if you do, I amthinking of you!!!

Hi kelly!

Sara- I wish you could hire me too :) I am so happy that you had a great day!!!! That makes me happy when my freinds are happy!

And Dawn- do you feel like you have a toddler in the house? LOL!

And that is all I have time for now- love you all!
Have a great day!

Good morning! I had a good start to my day - breakfast with a former co-worker, her daughter at Panera. What's better than that? Coffee, bagels, and good conversation! :)

((Chris)) -- sorry to hear that you are having a tough time, my friend!

Hiya, Dawn!

Love to you all, and chocolate chip cookies and lattes for all!

wooo hoooo!! It is Thursday!!! I don't know which one I'm happier about, that it is one day closer to Friday or that the Guest spot winner or winners will be announced!!!! Yesterday was pretty boring on my end...after work we went Grocery shopping!! UGH!!! DEPRESSING!! And then go figure we actually bought some orange sherbert for a treat...and what happens but we get stuck in TRAFFIC!! took us 2 HOURS to get home!!! :( So as you can imagine we had soup...not sherbert...Add to that thanks to that 2 hour trek we didn't get home till 11 pm!!!!!!!!!!! But woohoo...I still took a small bit of time to scrap something! Needed something to unwind those crummy traffic nerves!

LOL...girls me and this quilt thing is already nuts! My mother has her sewing machine and she is doing a quilt at the same time so I obviously can't use her machine..and i really really didn't want to drop 200 on a machine that I might never use again (that is yet to be determined!) So not only am I doing something I've never done but I'm going to do it on an ANTIQUE SEWING MACHINE!! You should have seen me trying to read the little manual to figure out how to THREAD the machine right!!! Amazingly enough not only do we actually have the manual but it is still in one piece...alabet cracked, torn, and yellowed with age...but still together! So I DID get it threaded...then the next joke was me trying to understand how to get the darn thing to go backwards!! (Only because my mother told me I needed to!) I sooo thought the whole point of sewing was to go FORWARD!! lol! So the interesting journey has already begun! I'll def. take pics! if for no other reason than to see that I'm getting somewhere and proof that I DID IT!

Mary Ellen: Tooo cute about the cookies!! My little girl has an addiction to McDonalds...I swear the girl can spot those arches 5 miles away!! lol

Yam: Isn't it so true that it might take a little while this time to get better! I'm terribly afraid it is going to get worse before it gets better :( But as you said...Life goes on!! :)

Karen: Enjoy the Family visits!! Even if they do wear ya out :)

Sally: Are you NUTS!! FUN AT A MEETING!! Yep you've lost your last marble girl!!

Lia: Allergic to dust and doing repair work in a house...ohhhh MY...I'm soooo sorry!!! Spring itself is getting bad enough I can't imagine being allergic to dust! I do believe I'd die!! Not sure from what though...the dust or the cleaning!! lol Ohh...and congrats on being chosen as the princess!!!

Stephanie: ummm ummm...I love banana bread..I'd love to know how the cinnamon one turns out...I'm crummy at doing cooking if it isn't with a recipe that I NEVER deviate from..don't have the guts to!! :) Another good bread that isn't horrible for ya as long as you don't eat a ton of it is Zucchini Bread. I have a recipe at home if anyone would like to try it! :) And it is sweet not crummy just because it has Zucchini in it! :)

Clara: Ohhh drats!! Went to a doc you didn't need to! I hate going to the doctor to begin with I would have been furious that I went to one I didn't need to...especially after checking on it before you went!! And no need to apologize on the writing so much..have you noticed mine!! lol We need to join the writing a novel club!

Tali: Have a great time...see ya when you get back!

Sara: wooohooo on the working out!! I missed out last night thanks to the 2hour traffic jam :( And kudos to you on sticking it out on the weight loss...not an easy thing to do! And too funny about the quilt...I actually started a monstrosity of a cross stitch while I was pregnant and it like your quilts are now sitting in a corner wishing it would get finished!! :)

Well ladies enjoy your day I'm off to do some work!! :)

Hello all,
Just stopping in and checking out what this is about. It is a lovely Thursday here in MA. It rained last night but the sun is peeking out today. I have two grandkids that I watch twice a week and one is a delightful 2 year old who is now getting into mischief. I called him a mischief maker and he didn't like that but when I told him his mommy was my mischief maker when when she was little like him, he now thinks that it is cool to be one. Can't leave him alone for a sec. because he is into something. His fav words now are "I can do it" , No Thank you (to naps), and I know. Today I am hoping for my best friend to come down from NH for the day but she had to run errands first and wasn't sure about the time. So I am playing on the computer until I hear from her.
I love all your little notes. The Grandma in the group.

Good morning...don't you worry girls...I will always have plenty to say. Yesterday's post just seemed a bit longer than usual. I actually think it is a good thing because I seem to have more personals to write because more people have moved into the Daily O's which is awesome.

So, the boys leave tomorrow for AK. Well, hopefully anyway. With the mountain erupting a lot of flight s have been cancelled because of the thick ash clouds. I hope they get on the plane tomorrow night. Ethan and our little nephew Henry are both so excited to see each other. It will be an interesting trip for them. My BIL and SIL live an interesting life and they love it. They are totally hippies. Not just hippie minded but real hippies. Time means nothing to them, they live in a little cabin on a mountain that is about 5 miles from electricity. They warm their house with wood and a gas stove. They have propane lights and their water comes froma stream. they have a generator but really only use it to grind coffee that they make in french press coffee mugs. They smoke a lot, and I mean a LOT of pot (it is legal there to smoke and carry but not sell) and their friends are all the same. They live in the same town as Alyeska which is the main ski resort in AK and right now there is lots and lots of snow. They get free rentals because they have a bunch of friends who work at the resort and rental shop and they get free lifts. They are going to have such a great time. I am really excited for them. They are going to have an awesome time. Oh...now this cracks me up. My SIL has a daughter from a previous relationship. Her daughter's name is Kiki which is short for Coyote (her middle name is Sundance - like i said...hippies). Well, my BIL has just enough midwest still left in him that he was adament that their son would have a normal name so they named him Henry. Coyote and Henry. Both names totally suit the kids and it justy cracks me up.

My allergies are bugging me today. My nose itches so bad. There is a simple answer to this. I take an allergy pill...but guess what...it is in my pocket and not my belly. That helps right?? Well, I just looked at the time and realized I haven't done my dishes so I have to go do dishes and head off to work. Aaaaah!! Hopefully the Cheery-O results will be out by then. ????? That would be cool. Be back in a bit!!

morning kiddos!!!!

I'm here at home for a fun, relaxing day at home...getting ready for my oral surgery tomorrow. I have a bunch of Sue's new QPs ready for my weekend!! I'm still doing a LO a day, so I'm thinking I need easy for this weekend through all the valium (from the surgery) and the traveling I'm doing!! This Sunday is Quentin's Regional gymnastics meet. So we are going back up to the dallas/FW area...actually going to Keller, TX, which cracks us all up (since we are Kellers!! LOL!!!). He's going to do great! I just hope I'm not in too much pain from the extraction to bother me! But, alas, I love Tylenol 3, so if needed, I may enjoy this meet the most!! ahahahahahah!!

Yesterday, I took Emma and Quentin to the gym for their practices, and Cora and Lillian did a photo shoot with me across the street from the gym. Here's a pic to show where it was...heehee...this is before I mess with it and slap it on a LO today!! LOL!!
grungephotoshoot007.jpg

So, I'm doing spelling now...gotta get these guys to learn, learn, learn!! LOL!!

happy day...i'll be back to shout out to each of you...love you!!!

Hi girls, good morning!

I'm so impressed how you can catch up all the personal details and write to each one... it's so adorable. Sometimes I need to take notes ! :p I hope I can do it in the future... I still have to read, "translate", and then post... and it takes me a lot of time... but it's good, because I'm practicing my english (even with a lot of mistakes, because if I have to check everything it will take me hours to write a post) and beeing closer to you.

The house repair is doing fine and maybe they can finish it till next Monday. I'll have visitors on May (my mom and my mother in law), so it will be good to have everything repaired for them.

Dinner with DH was great! We're going to extend the celebration to the weekend, when we can have more time to ourselves.

Clara, I hate when I have my allergies crises... it's really hard to do anything else.

Grandma (don't know your name either) - so good to have grandkids near by, isn't it ? Marco (my DS) will have both next month. They miss him so much !

Quirkyk - I'm still laughing about you and the sewing machine!

NicosMommy, enjoy your playtime with your friends and kids.

Okay, I am at work now working hard. Hahahahahaha!! hardly working at the moment. I am still amazed everyday that I get paid to keep myself entertained. Yesterday I didn't take a single x-ray.

So, last night my parents came down to visit. It was nice having them down. My mom and I played on the computer looking at cruise stuff. Ethan is so excited. I told him we might get to swim with sting rays and he was absolutely beside himself. It should be awesome. I am excited for him and me of course. We are already starting to make plans for it (we leave next February so we are pretty lame). My mom is going to take him in the mornings and we will bring our walkie-talkies to find each other and all that. She's alreaady got ideas of what they will do in the mornings. We also already have 8 rooms booked and the people coming are all related through me and my hubby and not through each other so it will be interesting and so much fun. In our 8 booked rooms we have my sis and her friend, my parents, my MIL and a cousin, a cousin and his boyfiend, A friend of ours and his really good friends and a friend of mine from when we were stationed in Italy. Plus more people are talking about coming. It should be awesome. I am totally stoked. Sorry, I'm guessing you all might here about this a few times over the next year. Sorry. Not trying to rub it in I'm just soooooooooooooo excited.

Coffee is on its way today. I am so glad because I ran out of time to get it myself. Gotta love drug reps. they can't bring us pens anymore so we get coffee. yay!! I like that pay off.

So, since I am just sitting here waiting to get my coffee and an e-mail (hint Krista...send out the e-mails already) I think i am just going to blab and blab here.

Chris - I will send you what I want to write today. I'll just put something simple I'm sure and let her know that everything was made just for her. DON"T FORGET TO SEND ME A BILL!!!!!!!!! You don't have to worry about scanning it or anything. I trust ya. Yeah, insurance companies suck. I did find out what happened with the referral though. It was a simple mistake and I understand how it could have happened. I had two referrals written down and theyput in the wrong one. Lame but somewhat understandable. I was impressed that they looked into it and checked it out here at the clinic. Oh, can you remove the kids college funds from their account so that it is cash and not in an account? Would that help you out?? Just a thought. The politics of all that just sucks. Always thinking about you and what you have to go through. I'm always hoping you get good news on whatever the new issue is for the day since the state seems to pick on you. Hugs. Do you need another squeezy eye popping hug??

Dawn - I never thought a bunny could be so mischivous. That is funny. At least he's cute and has you wrapped around his foot already. Good for him.

ME - Breakfast at Panera?? I am so jealoys. I LOVE Panera. It is totally my favorite. I just wish it was as healthy as it seems. I always feel like I'm eating healthy there and then I look into it and realize...not so much.

Kristen - 2 hours to get home from grocery shopping? I would have no hair left. That stinks. Do you have any hair left from this wait? I'mgoing crazy. I think I am off to check my e-mail again. Still no message. Drats!!

Grandma - Hello!! Welcome to the Daily Os. Have some coffee and some donuts and make yourself at home. My kids are little Mischeif Makers too. My ds room is decorated with an undersea/pirate theme so we named his bed, like it was a ship..."Mischeif Maker." It is fun. He picked out the name froma list of names. That is cute that your gs thought it was cool to be a mischief maker once he found out his mommy was too. 2 is so much fun. My dd is also 2 and is in to everything. That is so great you get to spend so much time with them.

Kelly - Isn't acting like grown-ups among the people you grew up with unreal? It is so amazing.

OKay...I have been wordy enough and now my mind is getting mushy. Off to check my e-mail AGAIN!!! Chat with you all soon.

Sally and Lia snuck in while I was blabbering away...

Sally - Have fun with spelling. I always loved spelling since I'm pretty good at it for the most part. Good luck with your extraction tomorrow. I hope it goes smoothly and the meds work like they are supposed to. have funa t the gymnastics meet. I remember the days of gymnastics meets way back when...20 yeasr ago. Wow!!

Lia - allergies are the worst. I finally took my pill so my nose should stop itching soon. Your english is not bad. English grammar is so stinking hard I am very impressed with how you are doing with it. Feel free to use us to improve it. We've got lots of teachers in the group too that may be able tohelp you out a bit. What language do you usually speak??

So who's ready for the WORST news ever? My computer decided all on its own that is was going to freak out and I don't really know what happened but EVERYTHING was erased. All of my pictures, music, scrap stuff, all of Mr. Fantastical's stuff everything was gone. When I turned it on I got this really weird blue screen that told me to reboot so I did and it kept giving me that screen. Luckily this time I have everything backed up on my external hard drive but I still couldn't get it working until I re-installed everything and oh man I NEVER want to do that again. The realllllly annoying part is that my Cheery-O layout, that I erased and re-did literally 12 times, and that i FINALLY finished, got erased. And of course, with all the amazing luck I'm having, I couldn't get my computer back up to make another one before the deadline. I've never been more tempted to chuck this thing out the window.

SO, on to the better news, I passed all of my tests! I have one left to do over the phone and it's next Friday at 10:30 AM. It's to test my abilities of multi tasking while on the phone I guess. It shouldn't be too hard I've done this before. So I'm pretty excited about that.

AND, finally, ON TO THE BEST NEWS EVER!!!!!!! Mr. Fantastical's PSA is FINALLY on YouTube and I have the link right HERE!

You'll see him more towards the end, he's the construction worker and the doctor. :D

(I don't have internet yet, it's just my luck that one of my new neighbors has an unsecured wireless connection that I'm kind of borrowing. Sooo, I can only get on at random. But I miss you all so much.)

Just a quick drive by today but I have great news I have to share:
WooHoo! Just got word that one of my students won a national essay contest sponsored by our department of agriculture so he and I will be going to Washington DC for five days the beginning of May! It's kids like this one that really make teaching so much fun!

The sun is shining here and it's beautiful in my greenhouse! Stuff is growing and really starting to bloom! I love spring!

Yes, I'm a little excited and happy right now.

hi all... wanted to pop in real quick and say hello... I'm a guest CT for Genevieve this month and Sally pointed out that she was missing me here...

I've been having a rough time lately which is why I haven't been here... Tuesday was 4 weeks since Daddy died, and I finally had to break down and do the thank you notes I'd been avoiding like the plague... I thought distance would help and I was wrong so I wrote them barely able to see what I was writing... on top of that UK basketball was a big deal for Daddy and with firing Billy Gillespie and hiring John Calipari from Memphis its just made me miss him all the more... I truly apologize if anyone was worried!

sorry... can't see what I'm typing... just wanted to let you know I'm still here...

Hey Ladies!

Thursday begins the busy-ness of my weeks! Well actually wednesday evenings do but Thursdays. I usually go to bible study and then to lunch with the girls, then I get all the music/screens ready for band practice. I usually run errands on Thrusdays because MIL keeps the girls. I'm home from about 2-5 then it's of to dd1's dance class, then my sister meets me @ the studio and takes the girls home until DH gets there, and I head off to band practice. I don't play anything (well I do, just not in our praise band) but I make sure all the words are in order of the way they sing it at practice for Sat night/sunday.

Tomorrow I take Selah for her Hippy (home preschool) screening. We are signing up for that this year since she is 3. Next year we will be getting ready for Preschool! SAD!

Chris: I did use flax seed in replace of an egg in the strawberry ones. They were really good. I was going to pick up some soy flour to add to the recipie. I was going to do 3/4c wheat flour and 1/4c soy flour...but I forgot it at walmart. I did pick up the dehydrator today from my grandparents so I can make my own lo sodium chicken/beef/turky jerky, and some dried fruit. I figure if my kiddos want some cruchy snack, I should start drying fruit to give them. I mean its not as good for you as fresh fruit, but WAY better than gummies and potato chips.

Kristen: Oh come on girl! Get creative! Varity is the spice of life! I change receipes all the time. MAinly b/c we are picky eaters. I rarely measure everything unless its a bread/cookie reicipe I've never done. Or candy and certian baked goods. I measure candy stuff. BUt when it comes to cooking It's always like "you take some of this and some of that, and you bake it until its brown".

Clara: I've got some of those reletives that name their kids wierd stuff. (Yeah, cause Selah is SOOO normal...lol). My cousin's daughter is named "Dixie" (yeah, we live in the south) and my sister just gave her new baby the middle name "Skott" as opposed to "Scott"...I have a friend..who might even be lurking here...her daughter's name is ruby kate clemmentine.

Sally: Cool photo! I can't wait to see what it becomes! Ohhhh I'd have fun doing something with that!

Lia: I know about this! I have to take notes to write personals too! I don't want to miss something. So I kinda jot down what my responce is on a scrap sheet and the type it all out. Most of the time. ;)

Hello everyone! I am sorry I have not been around. I like the daily O's and have missed it for a while. I have been very busy with my job, kids, older son's school, housework, you name it!!! Just thought I would pop in and say hello and see how everyone is doing. I don't have a lot of time right now, I have to get started working for the night, but just wanted to see how everyone was doing. I am just thankful right now that I have my job and that we have enough to pay the bills. DH got laid off a couple of months ago and he is getting unemployment. He is working some here and there for just a little money just so we can have money for our groceries and stuff like that. Times are definitely tough right now. I will be back later tonight. Just wanted to say that you guys were very nice and welcoming when I first came here and it is hard to find somewhere where the people are as nice as you guys!!! Take care and I will talk to you all later.

Darn. Darn and double darn. I have a cute idea for a new avi, but I can't find the picture I need. Perhaps this weekend I'll be able to find it and then you can say goodbye to the llama.
