Good morning precious friends :).

Chris-your weather is freakin' crazy! I'm sorry it keeps crampin' your bikini time. I'll keep sending dry thoughts your way ;). I hope you have a fab day!!!

Ona-hello! I hope you get some rest from your business trip. I know how exhausting travel and staying in strange rooms is. Stinks that it rained and spoiled your view :(. Thank you for your kind words and thoughts (((hugs))).

Sandra-I am soooo happy about your new job :). Congrats girl! Can't wait to see some photos of your doggies, they sure do grow fast, don't they?! I hope the trip to the vet isn't too tough. Congrats to your friend on her pregnancy, I'll be praying for her that everything goes smoothly.

Sudesh-hiya! So happy to see you here posting with us so we can get to know you better :). Your name is pretty and interesting, does it have a special meaning? Like my name is Dawn, boring I know, but it basically means daybreak.

Cornelia-hello! I hope you have a wonderful day!

More personals :)

Neetdesigner-Welcome to the dailyOs! Do you mind sharing your name with us? If I already missed it I'm sorry! I am LOL about 'the brightest light on the porch' I"m that way too sometimes!

Clara-hi there sweetie! That's cute bout Addie's kisses :). So sweet. Too bad Dad had to make her blue mood worse with taking splinters out, poor baby! awww :) And yes, food is more expensive, even fast food, probably because of the minimum wage increase and just the horrible inflation in general. Stinks.

Karen-hi there! Love your new avi photo :). Too bad about the weather on your trip! I hope you had tons of fun in spite of it. Can't wait to see some photos :).

Andrea-I need to get hopping on some stuff for Merkee, too. Glad I'm off today, maybe I can do a little. That's a cute party idea your son is doing!

MaryEllen!! So happy your DH is home :).

I hope everyone has a fab day, I'll be around most likely, unless DH wants to go for a ride or something.

Love you all :).

Hi Dawn, are you up early or am I really running late? LOL

Dawn, the weather here has been insane! Yesterday we got up to 72*- I brought a sweatshirt to wear at the lake. Today is supposed to be the same. I am off shopping with my Mom and Caitlyn (Girls Day Out!!) and I am wearing capris-- and I have on fuzzy socks cuz my feet are so cold. Caitlyn is wearing her fuzzy footie pj's! This is nutty!

And bikini- nope-- not me! I love tankinis- I can hide my jiggly belly :D

Ona- hope that the weather cleared up for you- I can't imagine how beautiful it must be - too bad it was for business!

Sandra- Good luck at the vet- I have brought both dogs and a cat in a carrier once by meyself-- so not fun! One time I also had to bring in Harley with both kids who were tiny- I had them hold onto the leash like those tot lines the preschools sometimes use!
Hope that yours goes easy for ya!
Wonderful news for your friend! I hpe that everything goes well. My mom had a cerclage with me... and I turned out fine. Um.... fine-ish hahah!

Hi Sudesh!

Cornelia- sorry if I sent rain to you , and Karen- really really sorry about that! I am not too far from Newark Airport- I would have waved to ya if I knew you were up there circling for so long :)

neetdesigner- (sorry I can't remember your name, maybe it is posted below) Looks like my weather is spreading everywhere:(
What movie did you and DD watch? Sounds like a nice and snuggly time!
Oh and I have done the same thing with my laptop.... And my desktop- we have battery back up on our computers- which rocks!

Clara- food is crazy expensive! Altho- we have found some good deals- Macaroni Grill has two for $7 combos- you can get soup or salad and a pizza or panini. Or a couple of other things. I can sometimes fine a coupon online or in the paper for $5 off. My mom and I had lunch there with me even having a glass of wine for less than $20. She paid, not me but it wasn't all that bad.
Aww, poor Addie....splinters aren't fun. Caitlyn still hates them and she is almost 11.

Karen- so sorry to hear about the cruddy weather you had on vaca. That is a bummer. :( But so happy you are back!!

Andrea- no prob- I'll make up the ginger spray today and that shipped. I should have my order in for the other scent in a few days.

Oh how sad to see the wounded soldiers. And how sad that you refer to them as "broke/sick" its too true and heartbreaking to me. I have lots of issues with ,ow blood sugar too- I keep granola bars with me in case I get too shaky.

ME- yay for YMG to be home!

Sara-- have a wonderful trip!!!

Oh Dawn, I am so sorry to hear about your SIL- kinda sounds like it was only a mater of time, but still so very sad. I would have freaked out too- any time anyone says they have bad news, I get freaked.
And great advice- be careful everyone, but don't be afraid to live. Life is truly too short.

Love you all!!!

It looks like we have a running theme of rain around here?! Wednesday night we had amazing storms! The power went out for about an hour. We got 1.75 inches of rain and high winds, tiny hail. Today they've got Tennis ball size hail on the SD Nebraska border! Crazy. It's raining again this morning and super windy. Just not nice outside at all!
Chris - sorry about your trips to the beach being a bust. If it helps, we have not even pulled out boat out of its parking spot yet this summer!

Sandra - good luck at the vet. I hate it when I have to take our two labs by myself!

Dawn - What - no entertaining Davy stories today? I'll have to check back later to see if he's done anything fun lately.

All else - have a wonderful day!

Hi ladies,

Happy Thursday. DH is home. Yay! I fell asleep on the couch last night watching The Tudors on DVD from Netflix, and he was ringing the doorbell and woke me up.

Funny story - last night I am putting Christian to bed; it's about 8 pm (remember he is only 3). It's still light out and a lot of the kids are still playing outside so it feels weird putting him to bed so early, but he's 3 and needs his rest so, I still do it and stick to our schedule. We've read our book, and then music starts playing. Oh, no, it's the ice cream truck - I heard it right away and I was hoping he didn't hear it. He pops right up and says, Mommy, hear that? ICE CREAM! Let's go get some. LOL. No, I didn't get him any - I am mean, but I promised that he could get some tonight with his daddy. He didn't put up too much a fight thankfully.

Enjoy your day off, Dawn!

Chris - it's low 80's here, and we have turned off the A/C, and it's bliss -- no humidity! Is it really July? Have fun shopping!

Sandra - I must've missed reading about your job. Congrats! What will you be doing?

Linda - have a great day and hope the rain goes away.

Hugs to everyone!

okay, $340 later I've been blessed that I have 2 perfectly healthy beagles with no infections, parasites, or heartworm and up-to-date on all their shots and meds... Darwin will have to go back in September for his rabies vaccination but it will be good for 3 years at that point... Bailey still has to go in to be spayed next week too :( poor thing... I hate having to put her through pain, but it needs to be done...

ME - I'm going to be a collections specialist for a local hospital... I will only collect on insurance payments and send missing documentation necessary for claims processing...

LindaP - they actually did really well and Gabe did go with me so I didn't have to manage them alone!

okay... I'm off to do some stuff around the house... I finally have the truck un-packed from vacation so I have tons of laundry to do!

Morning girlies!! omgosh...i totally wasnt' on my computer yesterday!! Well, for maybe about 15 mins total!! We had a fun day...we ran and dropped Q off at the gym, then the girlies and i went and met some friends at the children's museum. We stayed about an hour and a half, then ran back home, picked up Q, then finished some last minute touches before country club. Emma and I packed up all of my give-away stuff and when we took Q's friend home from cc, we stopped at our neighborhood Goodwill dropoff place!! Soooo convenient!! 6 bags of clothes, a tub of clothes and a box of household stuff later, we went home and vegged. My sil, mil and nieces came over later and we watched Pirates of Penzance with Linda Ronstadt, Rex Smith, and Kevin Kline. Sooo awesome!!

Tonight I'm going with my mil and sil to a local Irish pub to listen to our Houston Gilbert and Sullivan society sing through Pirates!! MR Gorgeous used to be the assistant conductor of the society right about the time Emma was born (9yrs ago) and so we know most of the people. And I'm a HUGE G&S fan!! yep...eclectic musician here...i love it all!!

So just hanging playing in the newly organized craft room, getting ready for a baby shower this Sunday for my BFF. I'm gonna make stuff to display on my mantle. I'm trying to change it out seasonally, and be really crafty about it. It just makes a house a home, kwim???

love you all!!!

Hi girlys!
This morning we woke up early so we could go to the library before gymnastics
(gymnastics is at 9:30) and our van doesn't start! So we call our Grandma and she comes and picks us up and let's us use her car for today and we go to the library and then us and my dad come home and my dad tries to star the car and it comes! He's got the magic touch...
We have a 13 year-old Ford Aroestar mini-van and we're going to look at cars tonight.

lots of love,
Clare

Good morning. So, this week I was going to start weening myself off of my morning coffees, but I have failed miserably. Next week will be better. My cherry mocha is yummy though. I'd be happy to share my local coffee shop with all of you. By local, of course I mean 100 yards away. At any given point in the greater Seattle area there are usually at least 5 coffee hops/stands if not more. I remember there was this cute little shop down the street from me when I lived closer to Tacoma and they had great coffee, and it was decorated awesome, with mismatched old chairs and local artists could hang their stuff to sell it on the walls...BUT they took forever to make a coffee. That is a huge no no around here. So they closed after less than a year. I was really bummed. I really wanted them to be successful, but some people can't merge multiple business aspects together. My DH's uncle did the same thing with a coffee shop in Ohio. He wouldn't listen to anybody. He made me an iced coffee with steamed milk and insisted that's how it should be done as I looked at my luke warm latte that no longer had ice in it. We can't help but be coffee snobs out here. Expectations on coffee is very high and if you can't make good coffee then you better be wearing a bikini while serving it. lol!!

So, yesterday I had my weekly church group so I wasn't home with DH and the kids. DH decided he needed to try and get more splinter out of Addie's feet and Ethan totally rose to the occasion and was the best big brother ever. So, he started by talking to her. Then he got her dollies that she has been carrying around everywhere lately and grabbed some tweezers and started getting splinters out of their feet while DH was trying to get some out of Addie's feet. She still freaked out some but at the same time she was trying to calm down her "babies" and was telling them..."shhhh...it's going to be okay...this will make you feel better..." I am so bummed I missed that...not the torturing my daughter part but seeing Ethan love his little sister so much. He gets annoyed with her on occasion, but he has to be one of the best big brothers I have ever seen. he has always adored her so much, before she was even born. I am so blessed to have such a loving and caring little boy. Addie is often quite a handful but I see that same love for others, especially her brother, in her too. I love it. So, that's my rambly story for today.

So, let's see...today is Thursday?? This weekend I need to bust my butt...not something I am good at, but I ave to make it happen. I have decided that we are going to have a garage sale. Mostly to get my husband's butt in gear to clean out the garage. He has so much stuff he needs to go through and get rid of. My brother heard we are having a sale and was real quick to say he's going to be on it. I know we will have some great stuff to sell. I am having it while Ethan is at his grandparents' house in Cleveland...that way he can't see what stuff I am getting rid of. I'm evil like that. Lol!! I'm excited to eliminate some of our junk and really go through everything and get some of my space back. Lol!!

Well, I missed personals yesterday so I'll get on it today...

Dawn - well aren't you up early and chipper as can be this morning. I imagine you to be slow to wake up and get moving, like I am, and that just was not the case this morning. Lol!! I am so sorry to hear about your SIL. That is so sad. I'll say some prayers for you, your husband and his family. What a horrible thing to have to go through.

Chris - I really do need to look into using coupons and stuff. i am just so lazy. I do try sometimes though...I get lunch at a local mexican restaurant sometimes for $5 and I have BOGO cards for a local coffee shop. It's not like I have a ton of money to throw around I just act like it sometimes when we are out and about. Lame. I'm sorry your lake experiences have been so non-lakeish. I hope you get some nice weather soon. Do you usually have great summers there?

Sandra - I am glad the vet went well and that your dh helped you out. Did they help you come up with a good food exchange plan?? I am so glad my animals eat normal food. I know so many people with sickly animals and I can't even imagine all the money and time that goes into that. It sounds like your new job will be much better. Insurance processing stuff is so much easier than dealing with people who owe money. Insurance is so often just paperwork and referrals that need to be taken care of. I used to work in a mental health office and we would always get insurance stuff saying they wouldn't pay because of something simple we had to do. So we'd do it and then get paid. yay!! When do you start??

LindaP - Hail is so strange. Out here we hardly ever get it, so it is kinda cool...but when I lived in Italy we had a horrible storm with hail the size of large marbles and it was scary. People's cars and houses were damaged. It was in the middle of the night so no people got hurt, but it was so strange. I think there were little tornados that night because the next morning when we went out there were signs knocked down, large trees uprooted and all sorts of crazy stuff. It was weird to say the least. I hope the strange weather goes away and you can take your boat out.

ME - I am so happy for you that YMG is home. What a great way to be woken up in the middle of the night. That is so funny about Christian. I can still hear the ice cream truck from miles away. Now they drive weird vans and stuff now. I miss the little mini jeep type things they would drive around. Those were the best. Now when I see the vans and stuff I think of the guy Big Perm from Friday...even though he was driving a snack truck, but still. I remember when we lived on post there was aguy selling ice cream to the kids and smoking a cigarette. I was not so thrilled about that and I think I made some phone calls about it.

Sally - that sounds like a fun time last night. I'll bet you are getting so excited about your trip. I'm excited for you. Have you been to AK before? It is so amazing there. It was funny when I was there because where we were and who we were with didn't seem to be a part of the real world, so it was really like returning back to reality when we got back. It was very strange. It was so much fun. Not to mention there is nothing like seeing a moose crossing a 4-lane road in down town Anchorage on the way to the airport. When do you leave??

Cornelia - Did you get a new computer? Or just have to fix your old one? If you got a new one...how exciting. I love mine. I hope you get everything back to working order soon. Have fun play with Amelie. Hopefully she just wanted some mommy love.

Okay...I will chat with you all later. Big hugs to everyone.

Actually they said just make sure to follow the guidelines on the packaging starting at the lowest end... plus I have to feed Bailey and Darwin separately because Darwin growls at Bailey and runs her off the porch and won't let her eat, so he's getting some of her food too... vet said once I start separating them and stuff we should see Darwin start to slim down... and I start on Tuesday with an orientation session provided all my background stuff gets done before then!

I always get sticker shock at the vet! It's almost more expensive than going to the people doctor! I try to use the "farm" vet any chance I can, they are a little cheaper.

Hi everyone! Currently we are driving over the
mountain pass so hopefully I will be able to
make a post:) I wish that I could show you a photo of all of us crammed into our Subaru. we look kind of like that Ikea commercial with the stuff stacked ontop! LOL! it takes us 4.5 hrs to drive...the oldest is already asking if we are there yet and we still have 3 hrs left! We are all really excited now that the packing is done. The kids are at a great age for camping this year. My dh and I did not sleep well as we were excited about the trip.

I am getting used to typing on this phone it takes a little practice:)

I was able to read and catch up here with you all...yay for technology. I know it is good to unplug but 14 days is too long! Especially when we are online so much. I maybe able to check in to say hi. they have wifi at a small store on top of this hill that is about a mile away. This place also has nice showers so we make the adventure every few days.

On this phone it is harder to do the personals as I have to go from memory and since having kids my memory is really bad lol! I am not car sick yet so I will go for it :)

Andrea thank you so much for your kind words and wow thanks for sporting my blinkie that made my day. It can be hard to design during July with vacation and such.

Dawn I am sorry to here about the loss of your sil even when you are not close it can be really hard on everyone. I can relate to what u say about things happening I threes let hope that will not be true in this case. I am sending u a huge ((hug)) and positive thougts your way. I hope when I check in you will have a new story about your sweet and spirited Davey :)

lindap your weather sounds crazy! We get some weird weather here so
etimes but mostly just rain. You have a lot of land. We only lived on 8 acres but it was pretty far from town my parents called it a Gentlemans Farm. We had 2 horses, chickens, pigs, rabbits, a Pygmy goat, dogs and some cats. Also had about every pet u could in my room growing up I love animals but they can be a lot of work. I miss the far
even though it was a lot of work.

Funny story about the ice cream truck. For like 3 years we got away with calling it the music truck...we finally gave in one day an bought ice cream lol.

I really wish u all a wonderful day! I will check in when I can. We are stopping 4 lunch now :). (((hugs)))

Hope to catch up with you tomorrow. We're supposed to go have fun at an outdoor play fountain tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be feeling better and get lots of fun pics!

****Huge rant***do not feel obligated to read this***

So...I am a bit cranky and since you are all such good listeners you get to hear my rant. So...I have shared with you about having to watch my friend's kid Cristian. I know I didn't have to, but when she asked I thought it would be a week or two...no big deal. All together it was 6ish weeks. WE got no extra food, money for food or gas or anything. She gave me a box of cupcake mix for him for his birthday to take to school. Now, I never asked for anything...I kinda figured it was one of those things that you just do...because I am that way. Well, I found out that she is not that way. When she went to the field the first time she found out her phone didn't work so I bought her a phone and mailed it down priority so that she coul call Cristian.

Now, before we had him stay we made a couple of trades. I had this awesome wooden truck bed that just wasn't really working out in Ethan's room anymore, so she took that for $200 but she didn't have the money at the time and we talked about making payments. Then she rearranged her living room and decided she didn't like her tv anymore and was going to buy a new one and came up with the great plan that we could have the tv but wouldn't really talk about price for awhile and said the bed could go towards it...later she was talking to my husband and I made a comment that we could watch her kid for a month...she laughed and said that was already taken care of...haha.

So anyway...now she is taking Ethan on a trip with her and Cristian so that Cristian has someone to go with to Disneyworld. She paid for the airfare and I will cover Ethan's park passes and stuff. I also want him to have a phone. When she was in California I had gotten her a Go Phone so that she could call Cristian...so I asked her if she had paid me or whatnot and she said that she thought it was going towards the tv. this wouldn't be that big of a deal except that she doesn't use the phone. It is a cheap throw away phone and it just irritates me. I don't think I should be irritated about that specific thing but I'm just so irritated about all of it. Our friendship is pretty shot. I'm trying...I just don't understand how a person can think like that. Just because I said I would watch her son a year before it actually came about when a trip to the field was only hypothetical I never thought I was agreeing to free room, board and transportation of another child. I know this trip is going to be mostly paid for by her and that is so awesome for Ethan, but I don't really see it as repayment.

Anyway, I am just all worked up about all of it. Right now I just want it to all go away and have never happened. I wish I would have never said we would watch him in the first place and I wish we didn't have that stupid tv on our wall...and I wish there was no trip to Florida. But there is all of that so I need to just buck up...I love this phrase: "When life gets you down just put on your big girl panties and get over it!" So, that is what I am going to do.

Sorry for the big rant. I'm just so tired of being frustrated about it and I need to just purge and move on. So...thanks for tolerating all of this word vomit!! Life could be so much worse and I feel very blessed for the life I have.

Hi from Chicago. The room is crummy, but I'm right across from Bloomingdale's. =) So that's great! I'm going to curl up with a good book and try to ignore the wooshing up and and down noise coming from the elevator on the other side of my room. =) See you all later!!
