So tired... Am I ever going to get my energy back up? (Yes, thanks to much coffee!). I am feeling extremely lazy. Nope, scratch that. I am mentally rolling through the lists of things I need to do while physically, my body is giving me a huge thumbs-down. Ha!

I am glad that I went to see my mom although I wish we had more time with just the two of us. She looked good, aside from her very swollen feet. She has to weigh herself every day to monitor her fluid retention. She was having a hard time using the scale that my brother got for her. As a recovering anorexic, I am a *pro* :pound: . I got on the scale to show her the "right way" and while I hated the number on it, I was darn proud that it didn't trigger anything. Go, me!! I joked that I am too darn tired to starve myself anymore.

I felt really bad for her too. She was told to take the Tegaderm/gauze from the catheterization site before she showered. She was expecting tons of stitches and missing skin. She didn't want to know anything about the procedure and no one told her what to expect. The way she was talking, I figured maybe a stitch or some glue-- but there was nothing but a tiny hole. Oh, my mom... SMD! I guess between all of my family's strange and extensive medical issues, I am somewhat inured to it and she is not.
My dad and my brother are going to be an issue for her and she *has* to find a way to cope with that. They aren't going to change so she has to find a way to react differently.
I can make suggestions but it isn't getting me very far just yet.

I have no major plans this weekend. I have to get my house/mind in order a bit. Either I have not been home or I have not had to energy to deal with anything and wow, it shows. Yikes!

Caitlyn and I have to run a few errands today too but that should be more fun than stressful :)
Hope you all have a fun day too!

xoxo!

Nancy- That sounds like so much fun to be able to knit, I never got the hang of it. I really should drag out some of my crocheting. See what patterns might have and suck it up and buy some yarn. I am so happy for you to have hockey back!
No accidents again by my pups. Whew. Last day for their meds as well. maybe I can steam clean that one area of rug that got hit again and be done for a while.
I think I might take the leftover BA chicken and put it on a roll for lunch. TY again for sharing the recipe!

Kay- when we would go to the lakehouse with the kids and dog(s), especially when they were little, my parents always said that the house seemed extra quiet after we left. I am glad that listening to music keeps the house feel less quiet.
Happy that the weather is cooperating!
ITA about getting ready for cooler weather food-- it is one of the only things I like about the weather changing. I made what my kids call "Squasta" the other night, Butternut squash with pasta, seasoned with rosemary and a bit of brown sugar. It is a very autumny dish so it has been a while since I made it and it is really yummy.
Were you able to get the keyboard and mouse?

Hoping that everyone is doing great! Love to all!

Quick in and out this AM.

Yes, I did get another wireless keyboard/mouse but I haven't taken the time to install it yet. But will have to do it soon as the old mouse is turning off every 10-15 minutes now... Glad I got the new one. And I did get the insurance paid. And I scored at WM... found 5 music CDs [some of my old favorites] and they were only $5 each - and 1 was $7. So will be loading more into my computer and then spending time making up some different playlists.

I know that fall is coming - noticed that the sun is moving south in the sky now. It is no longer shining into the family room windows in late afternoons. That means I can leave those blinds open until dark now.

Chris, glad you got to visit with your Mom. Hope she does adjust how she deals with your father and brother...sounds like they won't change so she needs to learn how to do it. So happy the dogs seem to be okay now.

Got to grab a shower. CYL

good late morning - had a great walk with my DH and Luther. Went to a park we rarely go to and OMgosh it is so fall. All cloudy and cool and leaves falling. My Linden tree in the front has a few areas of leaves that are starting to turn. Not many birds but the real sign of fall is the geese are back! Luther really wanted to head at them and they were sure honking at him! Came home and watching the Vuelta. Today is the second to the last day. Tomorrow is the finish in Madrid. Then baseball this afternoon.

Chris I am sure you are tired. If the body says rest I hope you do. But so glad that your mom is home and doing well. I do hope though that your brother and father can be the ones to change since it is your mom that need the peace to get better. Have fun with Cait.

Kay congrats on the new music. I love my apple music subscription as it allows me to add and tryout music for the cost of a CD a month. And it is so fun to make new playlists. Enjoy the new songs and new key board and mouse. Glad your temps are finally decreasing.

Waving to all. Have a great day!

Morning ladies... I was MIA from here yesterday, DH took the day off and so of course we
were running errands etc that he needed to do. Today is running around and doing things that I need to do LOL. Grocery shopping uggh!! I also need to go online and find a new down duvet for our bed. Too many choices out there and I hate looking for bedding! Oh well other than that it is another busy weekend for us with the usual cleaning and errands to run.

Chris - I feel the same way as you and have so many things that need to be done, but the body is saying nah just rest LOL. Wish I could!! Hope your Mother finds a better way to deal with the men in life!! Hope your errands end up being fun with Cait!

Kay - Have fun with your new music finds!! I really need to set up some playlist with my google home music, but that is just another thing on my long to do list LOL.

Nancy - Sounds like a great walk with Luther and your DH today! Yes fall is on its way, but I am still hoping for a bit more summer before the end of the month! I am not ready to put away my shorts and flip flops just yet. Wishful thinking on my part I think!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Hello girls,
I also wasn't come here at the previous days, but it's because I'm too lazy these days. Today my country give start of World Clean Up Day. But it's also christian holiday, so the mayor of my town decided we to clean up yesterday. Good that I saw my neighbours as I wasn't understand this earlier! So I had to left my plans and joined unforeseen. Was very disappointed from the organisation of the event, everything start and finished for about 3 hr, instead whole day as it should be, as they excused with the hotness of the day. Was collected the big things which are eye catching, but much more left. I wasn't satisfied, and also I wanted to do it on the day that was originally designated for cleaning, so I hoped that people who was on work yesterday and couldn't join will do it today. But no, it was only me cleaning today. And even one lady come to tells me that I'm messed the days. So I cleaned for another 2 hours today before to give up. Then enjoys to watch at the news how the other towns do it properly and for whole day. This is the first year I'm joined. Second when we are part of the World Clean Up Day, and nine that we do this day at my country. I wasn't join before as it's not secret that I dislike the community in which I'm living. If I do it in future maybe have to go to some of the national parks, as here was very disappointing.

Chris, I'm happy to find you with so good news! Wish fast recovery to your mom! And hopefully to be able to make some small trip next month, girls only, as it sounds as she needs quiet time, or at least 'no the men' area! Who knows maybe when they are realize how serious is the situation your father and brother will change too!
Did you was able to figure out what happens with the dogs? Is that was from the tick and flea oral medication, or?!

Nancy, Oh, yes I start see fall (OK it's soo strange for me to say it this way as make association for fail or fall in love), so again... oh yes I start to see autumn around me too, and really enjoy it! This about the knitting blocks is so clever!!! I make small pieces with the new techniques I'm try and always wondering what to do with the examples after that. Unfortunately they are really small, about 1 on 2 inc rectangle, so not useful. Enjoy on your afghan making, sounds as lot of fun! And another cruise, that's lovely, I'm so happy for you!

Trudy, good luck with the searching of down duvet! The warmer coverlets are definitely part of the autumn rituals.

Kay, ohh, talking music I just love that! Seriously some days I funktion just because, the music is turns Out Loud. (I'm scraping this for my 52 task this week, by the way!) And these music CDs on deal, what treasure! I feels guilt that I don't bought enough music, but hope that ads at Spotify pays artists fairly!
It is a pleasure to be able finally to open your windows, isn't it? Enjoy the fall /autumn/!

Jean, dear, write us few words, please!!! No pages from you this month and I start to freak out because usually people are silent when are sad. No needs to talk about anything, just come to say hi, please! Hugs!!! ::grouphug

It's turn Midnight, so I better go to sleep now! Sweet dreams to all and have a nice weekend! :sleep:sheep2:sheep1

I feel like I slept well last night and I am not as tired as I was yesterday. At least not at this very moment.
I didn't have a very good day. My parents are gonna be the death of each other. I do not have any idea how to stop this. Thank goodness that I have Gary and my kids to talk to about it. *sighs*
Cait and I ran a few errands which was a nice time and then we stopped at Petco to watch the ferrets playing. Such silly animals :D They were having dog adoptions and I can't stand to see adult dogs there. That makes me so sad and I had to leave.

I basically got nothing else done and now I have so much to do today to get ready for the week, especially since I have no idea what this week is going to bring.
Drat!!! In the space of these two paragraphs, I have put myself into a totally cranky mood!
I am going to do quick personals and I bet focusing on other people will make me feel better.

Kay- it is always fab when you get a good score shopping! Enjoy the new tunes!

Nancy- It seems like as soon as the kids go back to school, autumn is in full swing. My Japanese maple tree's leaves are dropping everywhere already. Poor Luther and poor geese! it will make walking him, um... interesting again LOL

Trudy- sorry that your weekend is full of running errands. Were you able to find a new duvet?

Felis- I know it didn't feel like much to you, but even three hours of clean-up is good especially if people all over your country were chipping in and working together, particularly if it is changing the way they see the world.

All dogs are good, back to eating regular food. I have no idea what caused it, vet thought it was probably just a stomach bug since there was no other change in diet.

xoxo

Felis, not to worry, I'm fine. Just back to my normal non-talkative self. I scrapped lots last month but this month zero ideas. Started a page for a challenge but didn't really like it and haven't looked at it since. I'm giving a talk on our lineage groups tomorrow evening and Saturday the computer genealogy group starts up the new season and I'll be talking about transcribing documents and showing a nice program that helps with that task. Sorry the clean up day didn't work well, but it is true that even a few hours is better than none and there is the hope it will change some people's outlook a little.

Chris, so sorry you mom has such serious health problems, but great she didn't need a stent, is back home, and is set up to address the problems. Hopefully she'll be much better soon. As long as the guys don't drive her (and you) straight round the corner.

Waving Hi to all.

Hello again girls,
looks like these days I'm awake to late. Maybe too much coffee?! Noope, there is no such thing as too much coffee! I had such a nice Sunday, helping to my parents to wash or rearrange things. Then enjoyed to be out at afternoon. It's become dark earlier than I expected, definitely earlier than yesterday. Oh, Yesterday the other girls was out, and me and my dad (and Tiny) had really good evening together.

Jean, thank you, I'm happy to know all is normal! And more happy to see that you are occupied with funny things! You'll be excellent presenter, as usual! I'm curious what transcribing is?! Is that when someone copy old documents, or makes short resume, or when try to read and rewrite handwriting papers?! We recently commented how I feel that autumn is more to do stuff outside instead to sit down and scrap/read, so I totally understand you about the layout.

Chris, I hope you was able to cheers your mood! Don't let errands to stress you as I always repeat, just make list!
I wish I was able to do something for you! Here is a cute pic
images
And the new song of my favorite singer https://youtu.be/zzL9v1dii_o . He makes my heart to sing every time, and this tune have to help me to cheers you!

You are giving the best of you, so don't hold load which isn't yours. Talk to your father, work with him about this behavior, but don't tote anger and worry through the whole day. Or at this way his stubbornness will make ill not only your mom but you too!
