Daily Ooo's October 17/18: Weekend Edition

faerywings

The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Oh yes, I did forget the big TGIF yesterday!
Yay for weekends!!! It was nice to be able to sleep in somewhat this morning. 7 am.. I would have liked to sleep later but my back woke me up.And my knees. It's been so cold and damp, I am creaky and achy all over! LOL
And I was in bed at 8:40 and lights out a bit after 9- how sad am I??
Its like I am 81, not 41 ;)

Quick run down from the dr appt yesterday.
The easy one first: Cait is doing *great* she doesn't have to go back for 4 months. He is considering her to be in "remission" and if she can get through the next 4 month w/o symptoms, he can feel comfortable saying that she is cured and Lyme free!

Scott. *deep breath*
He is really sick. :( Dr B said that the bacteria is attacking his central nervous system. Last time we were in, he was supposed to go on one particular antibiotic for the CNS. The insurance denied it, (grrrr) and he was put on another- and it doesn't work as well. So after 2 months, the bacteria is flooding his CNS- which is causing all of the behavioral/cognitive issues.
We have a couple of options for treatment- a new abx that crosses into the brain (Gary and I have had some very good success with it), Bicillan shots or IV Rocephin.
We had to rule out the IM shots- he doesn't have enough meat on his butt for them.
We are starting w/ the minocycline- working up to a high dose and we go back in 6 weeks. We don't know if the insurance would cover IV, since they wouldn't cover for me. And of course there is risks in IV.

The down side to all of this is that if these meds work, they can cause a pretty intense herx. Gary and I both had it- the mino kicked my butt for over a month but then I started to really feel a big difference.
We have to consider home instruction and or a Lyme-friendly psychiatrist to help keep the symptoms and CNS "calm" as possible while he herxes.

Its just brutal....

And to top it off- I get home and there is a msg from my GP to call them. There was something "off" on my mammogram and I have to get retested. They said it is probably nothing but a shadow but they have to be sure.
I am honestly not worried about it except for the fact that I have to try and fit this into my insane schedule!
And I am seriously peeved at my mom- who hasn't ever had a mammo- so when they ask me about family history, I don't know....
When I get the results back from this next test, I am going to lay into her.

So that was my day yesterday.
Aren't you all glad that you read it!?
(I swear, there are some days I see what I wrote and think that if *I* were reading this, I would wonder if this person, faerywings, was real or just some kid looking for attention)

Going to post this and then be back for personals:)

Sally darlin'!!!!!I hope that you can slow down a bit- you are so busy!
My MIL was at the first part of the convention - last Thurs to Tues- I guess for the commercial end of it. I wished she could have popped my in her luggage!!! I would have run away and stayed with you!
Have fun and happy selling at the garage sale.
Do you have any gigis coming up? Hope you have a fun football weekend!

I didn't see that video- but I read the blurb online- my goodness.... that baby has a guardian angel over it for sure!

Clara- have a fun weekend- hope that you and the kids have a good nap! Catch some zzzz's for me :)
How awful for your neighbor. You are right, the DD is digging a hole for herself. Thank goodness those kids have their g-ma as a stable influence.

Linda W--mmmm mmmmm I think I can smell your baking from here! Have fun at the school carnival ( I assume you are going, not just baking...am I right? LOL).
Savannah slept 9 hours?? Wow!!! That is awesome!!!

To everyone - love you!!
Have a fab weekend!!

good morning! I went back to work yesterday and worked for 8.25 hours... what a day... working on a Friday after being off for 4 days was hard, but it was even harder when I worked until almost 5 and I'm used to being off at 2! I made it through... of course I was slammed after being off, but I managed to get caught up... the office is always a ghost town on Fridays because most generally work 9-10 hour days so they can have most if not all of Friday off!

Not much going on this weekend... Piper has a birthday party today at 3:00.... she wants to have her party at this place in January, but its like $150 or more... and since her party is only like 3 weeks after Christmas that much is just not do-able... I'm thinking that we might just have her invite a couple of her friends over for a sleepover and movie night... it's much easier especially since the school doesn't want you sending out invitations unless you invite the entire class...

anyway, that's it from me... Matthew seems to be feeling better and his fever is staying low-grade... I'm still concerned about the cough though so we'll be monitoring that... so far no one else is sick *knock on wood*

Chris - I'm so sorry to hear about Scott... I wish I could give you all big hugs right now... my thoughts are with you all... love you!

hello to everyone that pops in! have a great Saturday!

Happy Saturday!! It is a crazy morning already!! I asked DH to lock Addie in her room last night but apparently he didn't because she was in my room asking me to watch Tinkerbell by 7. By 8 she was back in her room. She was just acting like a brat and I was done. Derek is working today and tomorrow. Blah. It is all good though.

So court went really well for my neighbor yesterday. The judge absolutely ripped into the daughter and her husband and said that they were unstable, erratic and that their statements sounded ignorant and contradictory. In court that was awesome. Of corse the backlash was a little rough. Lots of mean hateful calls and texts to everyone last night. My neighbor is feeling much more comfortable with things now though knowing that the court is on her side. Her daughter wanted to talk to her kids and made a bog stink saying she was going to tell the kids about court and so my neighbor refused to let her talk to them. i was very impressed with her. She has a very hard time not being manipulated by her daughter because her daughter has used her children for so long to manipulate her. I'm so glad that changes are being made. I just keep praying for a happy ending with all og this. Unfortunately there are two dads involved so the kids could be pulled apart because one of the dads isn't a bad guy. Ugh. We'll see what happens.

This weekend doesn't seem to be too exciting. Just grocery shopping, which will be pretty painful. Military payday weekend. That means the shelves will be bare everywhere and it will be crazy. I think I need to figure out where a Winco is at. That sounds like a nice little outing today. Tomorrow we have a playdate with some friends. That should be fun.

So those are my plans for the weekend. Fun times.

Chris - How did you know I thought you were Little Miss Munchausen!! You nailed it on the head. LOL!! Seriously? I don't think anyone could make that stuff up. I am so glad to hear that Caitlyn is so close to be considered in remission. that is awesome. On the flipside...that sucks that Scott is sooooo sick. How horrible that treatment will make him so sick to make him feel so much better. How will that work with school and stuff? I do not envy the decisions you guys have to make for him. What does he think?? How hard to have to deal with you CNS. Yuck!! Sending prayers, good thoughts, and all that stuff your way.

Sandra - sounds like a long Friday. At least you were able to do some catch up though without distractions. That is always the bonus of working on a day when no one else is there. That's too bad that you can't do a birthday party where piper wants it to be. BUt I totally get that. Addie's birthday is in November so it is hard to save for that and Christmas at the same time. I totally get that.

Have a fantastic weekend everyone!!

Hi kids! I'm still feeling poorly. I keep going into and out of a low grade fever. I guess that means that my body is fighting this virus off. The good thing is that neither of the girls has gotten it, praying that they won't. I have to figure that they would have by now, tho.

Anyway, Chris, you crack me up about some kid looking for attention. LOL I always feel that way when I have a run of rotten luck or whatever. Like with the miscarriage, and then Vince leaving, I felt like that. But you would have to be one mixed up chickadoo to have so much information about your topic and be making it up! I am sorry to hear that Scott is so sick. I did wonder if it was lyme-related when he has having so much trouble in school. Does that make you feel better at all? Or is that twisted? To know that there's a reason for his issues in school? Maybe not. Sorry if that's insensitive of me.
Also I was wondering, what is "herx?" I assume it's a reaction to the antibiotics.
Also, prayers and hugs for your li'l booby shadow. I think they just liked having you there and are looking for an excuse to have you back.

Clara- that is so rough for your neighbors. I'm glad that things went well in court, but it just drives me nuts when people who presumably once loved each other decide they hate each other so much that innocent children get hurt. It's so sad. Sounds like the kids are in the right place now, tho.

Sandra- hope Piper has fun at the birthday party. Atha wants to have her's at Chuck E Cheese and there is just no way. Not only is it too expensive, but.. yech. Honestly, don't you think it's more fun having an awesome sleepover with movies and lots of popcorn? Too bad kids like the bells and whistles so much.

Okay ladies. I'm going to try to work on my final paper for my education class, but my brains are so cooked I'll probably end up just playing cake mania. I haven't even been able to scrap I've felt so yucky.

Have a great Saturday everybody!

Whew....Hi girls....just got home....I was up and out early this morning...and this will answer your question Chris....I was at the school carnival with Sharon and Cameran....Savannah stayed home with her daddy, which was a great idea!!! Since it was all wet and muddy outside, they move everything indoors, and it was tight in there!!!

They had a new PTA president this year, and she wanted the carnival to be bigger than before, and it definately was, but very very disorganized!!! But such is life, disorganized is comfortable in our family!! Buhahahaha!! We had a good time!!!

So for a month they had been sending papers home about making a homemade scarecrow to enter in a contest for the Carnival. The rules said that you had to make it out of things from around the house, it could not be any taller than 18", and could not spend more than $3 on anything that needed to be purchased to finish it up. Well, Cameran and I made his scarecrow from things around the house....it was about 13" tall, and I spent $0 ...we get there this morning to turn his in, and you should have seen these scarecrows....most of them were about about 3 feet tall, and were DEFINATELY NOT made from things around the house!!! and MOST POSTIVELY MORE THAN $3 was spent to make it!! I was mad!!! His little tiny scarecrow looked pitiful!!! BUT....as the morning went on, I realized how the winners were picked....hehehehehehe!!! Each entry had a bag that you put the carnival tickets in for a vote....So I sent Sharon up to buy $10 worth of tickets (40 tickets), and we stuffed them in his bag!! OOOOHHHHHHH BAD BAD NANA!!!!!!!!!!!!! and we did not break any rules!! It did not say anywhere there was limit on how many times you could vote on an entry!!!!

Ok...so I dropped them back at home, and I headed to get my Pumpkin Spice Latte....got another survey ticket....another freebie this week!! YAY!!!

and to finish up....my day yesterday....ughhhh....by the end of the day, I wasn't so sure I wanted ANY babies coming back on Monday!! Savannah PUKED ALL OVER ME, HER, THE SOFA, THE CARPET....WOW!! and as soon as I got her changed and a bath, and me changed, Ayden pooped all over the himself and the swing!! So I spent an hour cleaning up all the yucky stuff!! HOW DO PEOPLE WITH TWINS DO IT???????????? I respect you very much!! But, after all was said and done, just loved them both, and sent them home!!! They will be back on Monday, and we will have plastic all over the place!!! LOL!!!!

Chris... ****squeezing tightly**** awe sweetie!!! I know you are so relieved that there are some answers for Scott's behavior...but man, the downside stinks!!! I hope the new abx works for Scott!! and I will pray hard that the side effects are minimal or non existant!!! But I guess the silver lining is that Cait is doing so wonderful!! Big (((hugs))) and fast recovery wishes for your baby!! and don't worry about your mammo...seems this is a VERY common thing....where I get mine at, they make you wait to have them read, because of this very thing!!! I always get to sit for about an hour afterwards to see...and twice I have had to have more taken, to be absolutely nothing to it!! I hope today is a better day for you all!!

Sandra...I am happy things are going better for you!! and the kids!! Sounds like everyone may be on the mend!! You have the same B-day issue my DD does with Cameran. His b-day is 8 days after Christmas!!! I have always told her to just do something really small for his actual b-day then have a party in the summer. So this year...she finally agreed! She is going to have a cake and small present on his actual b-day (with grandparents) and then have a real party with his friends in the summer (which can be outside/at a pool). It's a though for ya!! Have a good weekend!!

Clara....Awe...poor Addie....it's such a bad age!! I am happy that Jesse is growing out of it!! My least favorite age for little ones is about 18 mos to 3 or so.....at least until they turn 12 or 13...then it's permanant feeling of "and someone tell me WHY I had kids again?" Well, just package her up and send her to me!! Sounds like she needs some Nana lovin!!! sorry I got all the cakes made without letting my honorary grandkids lick the spoon!!! But if you had been here, there were plenty to lick!! I made 4 cakes yesterday morning, and then Cameran helped me make brownies yesterday afternoon...and he DID lick the spoon...had choco all over his cute little face!!! I am happy to hear court went well for your neighbor...those kids needed someone to give them a break!! Have fun on your playdate!!

Well, I am off...I am headed to the mall...OH NO!!!!!! I have not been clothes shopping in almost a year!!! I really need some stuff!! So I am going to splurge a little...Who wants to take bets that I come home with only shoes and a purse??? those are my faves!! :p

(((HUGS))) to you all!!

HI Andrea...you posted while I wasn't looking...

I am sorry you feel so bad sweetie!! (((HUGS))) We gotta get you better so you can get scrapping again!! Good luck on your paper, although, you should probably wait a bit....I couldn't even imagine trying to write a paper with a fever and feeling so badly!! Wish I could help!! But LOL it would probably be all about these little grandkids of mine!! Not sure that would be acceptable!!! FEEL BETTER SOON!!

((((((Chris)))))) OMGosh! What a bunch of horridness for you :(. On the bright side, at least you know what's been up with Scott. Sorry, I just have to try to find something good there. I hope he responds well to he abx with not too many problems.

And oh, yes, the mammo, like Linda said it's so common, but def not to be ignored. I usually have to have the additional films as well, luckily they keep you and let the radiologist take a peek to see if you need them before you leave.

Hang in there sweetie!

Linda-oh no, messy babies, I soooo don't miss that part! You reminded me of when Amanda was little, like 2-3, she woke us up screaming bloody murder one night. She had an upset tummy and didn't get up, by the time I got to her it was everywhere. OMGosh what a mess. UGH. I feel for ya, LOL! Sorry, hard not to LOL. I hope little Savannah feels better! that's soooo cute what you did for Cam :). What a big heart you have (((((hugs)))))

Andrea-feel better! I think I've had the same thing, DH brought it home to me...here I thought by not working in a doctor's office anymore I wouldn't get that kind of gunk so bad...boy was I wrong. It takes forever to shake, doesn't it?!

Good luck on your paper!!!

Clara-Hi!! Don't you hate that part of having kids? The waking up at the crack of dawn raring to go?! I don't miss that...I had mine 'trained' pretty well though, they would play quietly together for about an hour before they started pestering me hahaha. I used to be an early bird up by 7 or so myself...until I discovered the internet and scrapping and def since I'm not working...LOL...now I'm up all night and asleep for 2-3 hrs in the morning then at it again. Have fun shopping, that does not sound like a good time at all!

Soooo, in case y'all missed it I'm back! LOL. I've been sicker than a dog thanks to DH...the big meanie! I've been sleeping all day, horrible chills and congestion and cough, just awful! Started getting back to 'normal' yesterday thank goodness. It stunk not scrapping or 'talking' to everyone!

Love y'all!!!

Happy Sunday! I think any sports fans in the NYC area are kicking it up today- a big Yankees win last night and the undefeated Giants are playing today.
My SIL is going to be in her glory! LOL

Sandra- awww, thanks for the hugs! Sending tons back to you!
How is Matthew today? Hope the fever is gone. I also hope that you got some down time in too, I am sure you need it!

Clara Buhahahahah!! Just call me LMM! I told Gary and Scott about that last night at dinner and they totally cracked up. I wish that I was making all of this crap up- then they could take me away and put me in a padded room... sounds kinda nice, ya know? LOL
whew- so good to hear that the judge laid into the dd/dh. They need to get their heads out of their butts and start thinking about someone other than themselves. I am so thankful that the G-ma is standing strong for those kids sakes. Sorry to hear that your grocery shopping was not so much fun :(
Today is a better day!

Andrea- do you think you need to see a dr? You have been sick for a while now. I am getting worried. Seriously- try garlic pills, everyone knows I swear by them- and the cold I had on Thurs. was gone by Friday night.
*fingers crossed for the girls not getting it*

Scott- hmm- how does he feel about it all... It is so hard to tell. I know he hates feeling badly- he is worried that he won't get better. He doesn't want to be out of school for the social aspects, but would love to be able to stay out for the academic part.
He is willing to go on IV if that is what it takes, and it thankfully really good about having blood drawn and all that.
I wish I knew how to get the school to best understand that this is not *him.* It sounds so crazy that Gary and I know more about Lyme than most people - including many drs. I don't get why a disease has to be so controversial, but it is. It makes it hard on everyone, especially the people who are sick and need the understanding the most.

*shakes head* I dunno..... I wish I did..... I just have to keep on with the baby steps......

Oh -- not twisted at all! Gary and I say the same thing. Thank goodness we know what it is, and that is is treatable- not going to be easy, but we just have to remember that the bacteria is doing this.
A herx- when the bacteria die off, they release a toxin. That makes the symptoms flare up-
My first herx happened when I was cleaning a clients house. I felt fine when I started and within the few hours I was there it was like I had the flu. Every herx is a bit different- when I started the minocycline - it was all in my "head" -- I had a really hard time thinking, was dizzy, tingly- felt like things were crawling on my skin, couldn't find the right words to talk- I stuttered...
I know -- its is completely wacked!

Agh! I HATE Chuck E Cheese!
Good luck on your paper... I wish I could help. If you need a proofreader I can do that!

LOL LInda W- I knew you had to be there. So much fun!!
IKWYM about the kids' school projects. Totally bites for the kids who follow the rules. But goooooooOOOO Nana!! Stuff that ballot box!!! LOLOL!!!

Ugh!!! Blech! What a stinky poopy day!!!!! I seriously don't know how people w/ twins do it either.
Hope that this is the one and only time it happens.

Hope your shopping trip went great!!! What did you get??

Dawn!!!! I have been worried about you too- my goodness the last month has not gone good for you. Here is to feeling better, and having fun and Davy and scrap filled days!!!
Thanks for the good mammo thoughts- I think the part that gets e the most is my mom's utter refusal to go. I am looking at the bright side of this- maybe after I get mine redone, I can tell her how important it is for *me* and *Cait* that *she* goes. Think it will help? ;)

Hey are any of you Monty Python fans?
There is a documentary on them on the IFC Channel
Monty Python: Almost the Truth (The Laywer's Cut)
We set our DVR!

Have a wonderful Sunday!!!

xoxoxoxo

good morning! I ended up not taking Piper to the birthday party yesterday... Matthew was having a fit because Mama was leaving him behind - he's gotten even more attached since I've been home taking care of him - so Gabe figured it would be easier if he took her... today it's cleaning and laundry ugh - and finishing up a Halloween kit, I've been working on for the last few days...

Chris - I meant to mention the mammogram and then completely forgot... keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well!

Andrea - I totally think the sleepover would be a blast... maybe buy some little jewelry kits and do crafts, that kind of thing!

Hi Linda, Dawn, and Clara!

Hi ladies!!!

Well...I did not buy one pair of shoes or a purse yesterday!! I never made it anywhere but Target!! I picked up some cute stuff...but I did not try anything on....so I will do that today...and end up returning more than half of what I got!! It was just so croweded...they had some fab sales going on!! I did get two fleece jackets...I bought a pink on last year that I have worn just about out!! They had them on sale for $15...GREAT price!! so I got two (Red and Ivory)....I hate a coat, so these are warm and fuzzy without the bulkyness!!

I got my little Jaiden a coat too...it's all PINK and so cute!! I called Traci and told her to get over here today so we can see how adorable she will look in it!!

We watched Land of the Lost last night on DVD....yeah, Cameran was here....I did not realize how many "bad" words were in that movie...it's rated PG...or maybe I was mistaken and it's PG13...but the good news is, Cameran knows, and he doesn't repeat that stuff...He just loved the big dinos and the funny stuff!

Okay...I will be back in a bit for personals!!!

I need to clean up a bit....I have been on the computer and being LAZY all morning!! Except I did cook breakfast!!!

Good Happy Sunday!! I would be having a better Sunday if Addie would stop picking on me. She started being cute but she's just straight up picking on me. Jumping on me, tackling me, poking me. My allergies are nice and flared up so I've been cranky so that isn't helping her cause either. She is being kinda cute but I'm the sheer volume of her cuteness is driving me crazy. Not sure if that makes sense. I need to get out of bed. That will help. I was so thankful this morning though. She woke up at 6:40 this morning ready for the day and i convinced her that is was still dark and therefore not time to get up so she went back to sleep for a couple ofhours. That would have killed me. I need to get my butt off the computer at night. Shame on me.

So, today I have to finish my grocery shopping. Then I have a friend and her kids coming over for a playdate this afternoon. That should be fun. Derek is working again today but hopefully he'll come home early. He knows about the playdate so he'll head home for that if he can since they are both of our friends. We'll see.

LindaW - I am so glad you bought yourself some stuff. Good job. I love Target. I little more than I should, so I avoid it but I love it. They always have awesome deals and clearance prices. I'm with Chris. Great job on stuffing the ballot box. That is totally what a grandma should do.

Chris - I'm glad that Scott seems to be so understanding of what is necessary to get better. Too bad it doesn't help him at school. It sucks that the school doesn't understand long term illness especially things they can't see. They can't see it so it must not be real. I remember my mom calling the nurse and telling her that i may need to stop in and take a nap some days so i did and she let me rest for about 20 minutes then woke me up and sent me to class. Then when I came in about 2 weeks later she didn't understand why I was in there again. They just have no clue. Thye should have a support group for parents with students with illnesses. It just isn't fair that you have to keep repeating yourself and have to re-explain the same things over and over again simply because the administration doesn't want to pay attention. Lame.

Sandra - Poor Matthew. That sucks that he's having Mama issues now. I hope he adjusts to the regular routine soon. I'm with everybody...a sleepover sounds awesome...although a bunch of crazy girls staying up all night sounds crazy also. I'm not quite sure how I feel about all that. eeeek!!

Dawn...Yay I am so happy you feel better now!! Tell DH that he needs to keep is germies to himself!! Good news is...you can get back on that scrapping roll you were on!!...you have cranked out some really AWESOME pages!! If you guys haven't seen Dawn's gallery lately.....all I am saying is unemployment agrees with her MOJO!! but I know it's doesn't pay the bills!!

Chris....well I am glad to hear that Scott deals with things like he does...but being so young, the behavior issues may be a little from the outlet he's needing for being somewhat angry about it! About the shcools...I can tell you, they don't give a rats a$$ about the illness....they only see behavior issues and DON'T want to have to do anything to really help!! They just see a BAD kid!! it stinks too!! Traci had one person at her HS that was understanding...it was the County Police officer that was stationed at the school!! He was very supportive of Traci, and thank goodness....there were a few times she could have gotten into some real trouble if wasn't like he was...but the counselors, teachers, principals....they just saw her as some loser case of bad behaviour....She had an IEP in place...thank goodness...because that gave me some ground to fall back on. They couldn't just say whatever, or do whatever without following specific steps first. Every time we had a meeting, it was the same old thing....I usually got very angry with at least three or 4 people in that room and had to become too vocal and then left in tears! I hope that you can find someone there who can be on Scott's side!! HE NEEDS someone...but homestudies may just be the best answer...I wish I had done that with Traci now....and as far as you knowing more about Lyme than the drs....this is so typical!! I get angry with drs who try to tell you that you are just over reacting...NO ONE and I mean NO ONE knows your child better than you do...so if you know there is a problem....there is one!! and we take the time to research, study, ask questions, anything possible to resolve or deal with the problem...something that drs just skimmmed over in med school!! When Sharon was in HS and we were trying to get her straight on her migraines, the Neurologist put her on Neurontin...which is typically a seizure med, but known to help with migraines....well she had a reaction everytime she took...passed out twice...I stopped it, and called the DR everytime she had any reaction (only took it for a week...called the doc 5 times)....and he told me she was NOT reacting to the meds... ***shaking head back and forth**** IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! stopped the meds, she stopped passing out!! Sorry for the book..but these are matters that hit close to home with me!!

So now that I have written you a book...LOL!!! I used to be a MP fan...I will go check out the site!!

Sandra....Hi!! Poor Mathew...it's hard for them when they are sick...always want mamma!! Good luck with the kit!!

Clara....Okay...Addie sounds like Cameran...he is always doing that stuff...like it or not!! They are cute, but it does get on your nerves after the first 20 times!! But now as a grandma...I am going to be harsh with you...LEAVE THAT GIRL ALONE!! heheheehe!! I am glad she went back to sleep for you!! The grandkids like to get up early on the weekends when they stay here...thank goodness...Cameran is starting to grow out of it a bit...he slept til 8 this morning!! Hope you get your grocery shopping done!!

(((Hugs))) to everyone!!
