Hi Laurie!! You are up early! I am so sorry to hear about your furnace fuse. I hope that you get everything done that need to do, and not be hampered by blankets
Stay warm!! It is 17* right now, but we are supposed to get up to 40* Of course we are also supposed to be getting snow on Wed, but even if I miss my day of work, its better than having it snow on Thursday.
I really can't think of missing work as a bad thing, but as an opportunity to get stuff done. Right?? (I'm trying here!!!) My client yesterday told me that they are going to Disney for Xmas and will be gone the two weeks I would be cleaning for her. Then I will be out of work for a month after my surgery. Oh well. Nothing I can do. *shrug*
I will check out the Card Exchange thread too! Thank you for starting it!
My plans for today are to get the house sort of tidies (scooping litter boxes/dishes/laundry- that sort of thing.) then I am off to paint the bathroom. I saw my friend on the street yesterday and she invited me and our other friend to come over for a glass of wine and to hear some horror stories about a wedding she was at recently. If I can get most of the painting done, it think that might just be what the dr ordered.
I decidedly did
not have a good day yesterday. But it was all good and I was able to laugh at most of it.
The days started with all of my tech issues, but I was able to find my ipod. I swear I had looked where I found it but maybe just not close enough. It had fallen under my desk. I was leaning down to get something else and *poof* there it was.
I get to my job and I am moving slowly. But I am getting stuff done, in a somewhat "orderly" fashion. After I finish upstairs, I come downstairs and chat with my client for a few. This is when I find out I won't be working for her in Dec and then I tell her that I will be out for the count in mid-Jan to Feb for my hyster. I reassure her that it is not cancer again. (My goodness, that feels so good to say!!) We chat about our mutual friend that was rushed to the hospital 2 weeks ago- the one I passed the ambulance on my way to her house. It can always be worse... She heads out, and I get back to work. She usually goes shopping and comes back around noon after I am done.
Like I said I moving reeeeaaalllly slowly so I am still there when she gets back. She is all good with it, but I apologize and finish up. I get into my car,see the Need Gas NOW light come on go. I go into my work apron to grab the money so I get gas on my way home. I can't find it. I *know* that I put in in there, but now-- no sign of it. I start going through my bag thinking maybe i threw it in there. I dump out my entire cleaning bag, rags, sponges, my little bag of scissors and tape and etc-- all over the front seat of my car. I figure, You know what? You lose everything Ms Faery and it shows up in the end. Look ath the ipod, just this morning.
So I put the car into drive and get to the end of her 1/4 mile driveway. I look through the bag and stuff again, on the floor of my car, and I still don't see it. Now I think-- it is always possible that I left it somewhere in the house so let me head back up and let her know that if they find $75 lying around its' MINE DAMMIT! (No I didn't really plan on saying that LOL)
I somehow turn my car around in the drive which is basically a narrow dirt road with ditches on either side. Drive back up the 1/4 mile to the house and I see a piece of paper blowing around. And its green. I jump out of my car, chasing it down. $1. I see another, also $1 and another. Then I get a $20. I don't see any more so I go towards the front door to ask that if she happens to find the rest of my pay outside, to save it for me.
As I get closer to the house I see a scrap of green in bushes on thee side of the house. Its a $50!!!! Now I am getting somewhere.
I see the rest of the bills nearby and I scoop them up. I ring the doorbell to let my client know that if she happened to see a crazy lady running around her house, it was just little ol' me. She comes out and gives me a big hug which was so nice.
When I get home and tell Gary the story, he was practically peeing his pants. Then 2 min's later Scott gets home. He was working for my dad yesterday. He left here after me, drove 45 minutes each way, had breakfast with my parents, made it home right after me and made more money than I did *and* he didn't have to chase it around in 19* weather!
If you ever had any doubt in your mind that I am a complete dork, this will hopefully erased that notion.
