lOve the O!
Morning O fam- I am O frozen- apparently my furnace has decided to blow a fuse- at least I hope that is all it is- and as of now it is 59 degrees in my house- brrrr. I am waiting for hubby to wake up so he can show me what to do to fix it. I don't want this to happen when he is on the road. I could turn up the electric heaters- but who wants to spend the money. The gas fireplace is keeping the basement warm and I am snuggled in blankets. I have tons of projects to make this weekend, along with cleaning. Eventually my son and/or his girlfriend will make their way here and I do not want to do a last minute stash and dash!

What are you doing this weekend? Oh I posted the Christmas card exchange for those that love this

Oh so sort of happy, my husband got the fan on the furnace going- we replaced it last January- not sure if it had a warranty- anyways- the house is warming up!!!

Hi Laurie!! You are up early! I am so sorry to hear about your furnace fuse. I hope that you get everything done that need to do, and not be hampered by blankets :)
Stay warm!! It is 17* right now, but we are supposed to get up to 40* Of course we are also supposed to be getting snow on Wed, but even if I miss my day of work, its better than having it snow on Thursday.

I really can't think of missing work as a bad thing, but as an opportunity to get stuff done. Right?? (I'm trying here!!!) My client yesterday told me that they are going to Disney for Xmas and will be gone the two weeks I would be cleaning for her. Then I will be out of work for a month after my surgery. Oh well. Nothing I can do. *shrug*

I will check out the Card Exchange thread too! Thank you for starting it!

My plans for today are to get the house sort of tidies (scooping litter boxes/dishes/laundry- that sort of thing.) then I am off to paint the bathroom. I saw my friend on the street yesterday and she invited me and our other friend to come over for a glass of wine and to hear some horror stories about a wedding she was at recently. If I can get most of the painting done, it think that might just be what the dr ordered.

I decidedly did not have a good day yesterday. But it was all good and I was able to laugh at most of it.
The days started with all of my tech issues, but I was able to find my ipod. I swear I had looked where I found it but maybe just not close enough. It had fallen under my desk. I was leaning down to get something else and *poof* there it was.
I get to my job and I am moving slowly. But I am getting stuff done, in a somewhat "orderly" fashion. After I finish upstairs, I come downstairs and chat with my client for a few. This is when I find out I won't be working for her in Dec and then I tell her that I will be out for the count in mid-Jan to Feb for my hyster. I reassure her that it is not cancer again. (My goodness, that feels so good to say!!) We chat about our mutual friend that was rushed to the hospital 2 weeks ago- the one I passed the ambulance on my way to her house. It can always be worse... She heads out, and I get back to work. She usually goes shopping and comes back around noon after I am done.
Like I said I moving reeeeaaalllly slowly so I am still there when she gets back. She is all good with it, but I apologize and finish up. I get into my car,see the Need Gas NOW light come on go. I go into my work apron to grab the money so I get gas on my way home. I can't find it. I *know* that I put in in there, but now-- no sign of it. I start going through my bag thinking maybe i threw it in there. I dump out my entire cleaning bag, rags, sponges, my little bag of scissors and tape and etc-- all over the front seat of my car. I figure, You know what? You lose everything Ms Faery and it shows up in the end. Look ath the ipod, just this morning.
So I put the car into drive and get to the end of her 1/4 mile driveway. I look through the bag and stuff again, on the floor of my car, and I still don't see it. Now I think-- it is always possible that I left it somewhere in the house so let me head back up and let her know that if they find $75 lying around its' MINE DAMMIT! (No I didn't really plan on saying that LOL)
I somehow turn my car around in the drive which is basically a narrow dirt road with ditches on either side. Drive back up the 1/4 mile to the house and I see a piece of paper blowing around. And its green. I jump out of my car, chasing it down. $1. I see another, also $1 and another. Then I get a $20. I don't see any more so I go towards the front door to ask that if she happens to find the rest of my pay outside, to save it for me. ;)
As I get closer to the house I see a scrap of green in bushes on thee side of the house. Its a $50!!!! Now I am getting somewhere.
I see the rest of the bills nearby and I scoop them up. I ring the doorbell to let my client know that if she happened to see a crazy lady running around her house, it was just little ol' me. She comes out and gives me a big hug which was so nice.
When I get home and tell Gary the story, he was practically peeing his pants. Then 2 min's later Scott gets home. He was working for my dad yesterday. He left here after me, drove 45 minutes each way, had breakfast with my parents, made it home right after me and made more money than I did *and* he didn't have to chase it around in 19* weather!

If you ever had any doubt in your mind that I am a complete dork, this will hopefully erased that notion.

good morning - It is chilly in NJ this morning but it is to warm up above freezing so I should be able to get a walk in. I walked yesterday and it was good to get out. Today is more of the same. My Devils actually won last night 2-0. It was against a team with a worse record than the Devils so they should have won and they did so that is good. Tonight they play the Calgary Flames so that should be a tough game.

Laurie I am so glad that your furnace is working again. We have furnace that heats water and after a while the water needs refilling and if it runs out during the night it can get really cold. You are good though I think I would have awaken my husband LOL.

Chris I am so glad you found your money! What a story but a good story with a happy ending.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Laurie, glad you got your heat back. i had to laugh at the 59 degrees. during the winter, when we're running the wood stove on the main floor of our house, the furnace rarely comes on, so our upstairs is ALWAYS around 59 degrees!

Chris, the picture i get of you chasing after your $$$ is priceless. you just kill me, kiddo! bummer about all the unsolicited time off and resulting decrease in funds. but i know you'll make it work. i think the wine and friends are just what you need!

Nancy, i meant to say the other day that i laughed at you saying that your team was awful. never thought i'd hear that coming from you, the True Fan!! well, i hope they get their act together soon, for your sake.

i had the strangest dream. i was in England, trying to walk from somewhere far away into Oxford. must be too much Inspector Lewis-watching for me. i've been doing laundry this a.m. and am now going to make another batch of almond flour zucchini muffins, my breakfast of choice these days. beyond that, no idea. the idea of house cleaning doesn't appeal to me today, so i'm just going to let that slide.

does anyone else have a terrible time hitting the space bar while typing on an iPad? i almost 100% of the time hit the m or n and have to retrace my steps and get rid of all of them!!

happy weekend. hope everyone's temps get at least into the 40s! :becky:

Happily early afternoon here and we're at 40* already. Next few days should all be above freezing. Amazing how good that sounds. Hope you all have warmer weather. We're having tech problems though. Bought a new desktop computer with Windows 7 on it. Included was an upgrade disk for 8.1 which we want. No amount of trying and help from the store people has made it work. Going to go back to the store this afternoon to get something done. So frustrating!

Chris, you really had me laughing! You tell it so well but we all wish you didn't have quite so many "funny" stories to tell. Bummer about lost work time and yes, the wine, women, and wedding horror stories sounds perfect after painting the bathroom.

Phylis, I'm sure your temps are rising too. Hope your day is too.

Nancy, well it is good the Devils had a win no matter the caliber of the opponent. Good luck with tonight's game. I don't have to worry about actually caring about game outcomes until baseball is back but DH is really into football. (Ohio State game on the radio right now.)

Trudy, bet you had a great time last night. The thought of encountering elk the size of moose is chilling. Here it is bad enough worrying about the all too abundant white-tailed deer that can be a traffic nightmare. And they are much smaller!

Laurie, glad your house was warming up. Hope the furnace problem is solved. Thanks for posting the Christmas card thread.

Laurie, glad your house warmed up.

Chris, thanks for making me laugh!

Freezing rain here today which meant a two hour delay for our boys' swim meet. We were already having scheduling problems for the afternoon so we didn't make it to the meet. DS went to a birthday party of a new friend. We got some gluten free cupcakes because we knew he couldn't eat cake at the party. We went and saw The Mockingjay tonight. I got a layout done (thank you for the inspiring challenges). Working on knitting fingerless gloves for my mom. I guess I should get back to the laundry! My guys are going to deer camp after Thanksgiving so I'll have a few days to myself. Cleaning and lots of time for knitting and scrapping! I hope I can keep myself busy enough that I don't miss them too much...

Morning O fam! So many ideas floating in my head today! Cinda- we were traveling in Delaware, OH and saw many cars off road, dents from guide rails it was crazy. Today I am going to try to make some Jingle bell boxes with my silhouette. Presents for my boys. I have to do bill pay, laundry and kitchen clean up. Oh and scrapping too!

Hellllloooooo my O-zies!
Happy Sunday, a day of rest? We will have to see in my instance. I have to though. HAVE to!! I painted from 9.30 to 3.30 with only a quick lunch break. I didn't make it to my friend's house either. She moved the time from 3 to 12.30 and I was just starting to roll the first coat.
I really don't mind painting at all, but in bathrooms, argh! Such a tight space crawling around and having to drape myself over the toilet to try and reach behind it...then I kept banging the extension pole into the walls. :censored:But it is done for now. I have no idea when I will get the color on it but at least the mold killing stuff is on.

Today I have to clean it all up-then clean out the tub a bit. Gary is then going in to recaulk it all, and hopefully it will all look nice again.

Then I have to deal with my office and my kitchen. I left dirty dishes everywhere and when I do that, it seems to give permission to everyone else to do it. I should ask Gary to deal with that. I am also starting to get some packages in from amazon for Christmas. I got my nephew - BFF's son, not my little godson- a Walking Dead T-shirt that says Terminus BBQ. If you watch TWD, you will get the reference. ;)
On top of all that I got the shipment of my F-W's supplies. I bought coffee bean butter and can I say that it smells DIVINE??? I can't wait to see what I can whip up with that.
So many boxes and "stuff" has gotten thrown all over and I guess it is no wonder I keep losing stuff.

Then I hope to get some scrapping done.

Hope that you all have a nice, restful day too!

Laurie- so happy that you have heat again!

Nancy- oh no, sorry to hear the Devils are having a tough time of it. How did they do last night? It is getting warmer up here too but who knows for how long. One forecast for Wed is 3-6" and another says 1-3" I am hoping for the 1-3" range. Honestly- I am hoping for sunny and 75* but my bet is that won't won't happen.heh.

Phyllis- you would have been laughing even harder at me if you saw me IRL running after money. It was like the homeless person's version of an Easter egg hunt.
Hope that you got a nice day yesterday. I have problems when I text about hitting the v instead of the space bar so often that I have given up trying to spell check them.

Jean- any luck with the Windows disk? I feel your pain with the tech problems, I really do.

Cinda- freezing rain it the pits. How was Mockingjay? I can't wait til that comes on Netflix or maybe I will go to Redbox. Either way, I do want to see it.

Better get myself off and running (linping?)
Have a wonderful day!!!

Chris, Mockingjay was good. Not great. You know being part 1 it just stops. My boys hate cliff hangers in books and beg for another chapter so waiting for the end of the movie to be made... Thanks for making me completely think about the bathroom painting process. I had considered painting our master bathroom while my guys are away. Maybe I'll save that for another time.

I need to get beef stew in the crockpot. Have a great Sunday!

freezing rain here yesterday, too. what a MESS!! a total surprise, too, since there was no rain in the forecast. shall i rant about people who believe in computer models that are projecting climate over decades?? nooo. well, happily, i didn't have to go out in it. Hubby did, though, and said it was an adventure. today looks a lot more tame. no ice, at least. but absolutely slate gray out there.

Chris,
when I do that, it seems to give permission to everyone else to do it.
ain't that the TRUTH???? i always say that, no matter how low women sink in the work they need to do, the Family can always sink lower, and they look at our troubles keeping up as an opportunity to do even less than they usually do. don't get me started.

Cinda, beef stew sounds YUM on a day like this!

Laurie, you are the busiest person around! those boxes look cute, though i'm not sure exactly what i was looking at. is that a picture on the front of the box?

Jean, are you SURE you want to upgrade to 8.1??? i wish every day that i could go back to Windows 7. i think Windows 8 is a giant, giant MESS. but to each his own. my brain just finds Windows 8 counterintuitive.

Hi, Trudy!!

waiting for my sister and BIL to come and take a piece of granite i have no use for anymore. and waiting for the randomly-timed SKYPE call from my son and Fam. in the meantime, just doing this and that. and that and this. and nothing very interesting.

good morning - a late start as my Devils are playing out west and the games start here at 10pm and ended after 1 am with a SO loss. This is a game they were leading 4-2 with 3 min left. Sad and annoying. Oh well they did get a point. But now I am tired. I did get in a nice walk and I will today too. Got some scrapping done. I am almost done with my Bryce Canyon Park photos and will then move on to Zion. Not so many photos there so almost done. My house is a disaster and my son is making me crazy. He has a flat tire and he has yet to change it and take it to be fixed. I think he keeps thinking he will just drive my car. I get so mad at myself for this garbage going on in my house.

Chris so glad you got your bathroom painted. Congrats! Hope you get some rest today! I cannot believe this weather today 50s, tomorrow upper 60s and then snow Wed. So strange! I am hoping only a dusting.

Phylis I don't mind when my team loses when they are trying. I am a true fan so I still stay up and watch LOL.

Cinda freezing rain is the pits worse than snow to me. Sorry you missed the swim meet but I bet the party was fun for your son.

Laurie have fun with the Silhouette!

Have a great day!

Morning ladies... i did not make it in here at all yesterday, but did have a nice time at the In-Laws and it was good to not have to worry about the drive home late at night! The beds however are horrible at the IN-Laws and we did not have a very good sleep, nothing bigger at their place then a double bed and they are old ones to boot. Even they do not sleep in a big bed, don't know how they manage to sleep at all!! Oh well to each their own, but when you are used to a nice big King Sized bed it is very difficult to go to a double!! I felt like I was going to fall out of bed all night ugh!

Laurie - You really are a very busy lady and I love the Jingle Bell Boxes!!

Chris - You kill me with your chasing your $$ story!! Glad to hear that you have gotten the hard part of redoing the bathroom done, I don't envy you the painting job! I should send my hubby over to help you he loves to paint  Good luck cleaning up the mess afterward and tell that family of yours to get in there and help you out for goodness sake!! You can't do everything!!!

Phylis - Uggh on the weather in your area, hope that you don't have to deal with any more freezing rain, it is the worst!! BTW I love that Live Long and Prosper smiley!!! too funny!!

Jean - Sorry you are having problems with the new Windows, but like Phyllis if I were you I would stick with Windows 7!! Windows 8 was designed for a touch screen computer, so unless you have one of those I would think twice before installing windows 8, but that's just my opinion I will shut up now!! :tape:

Cinda - Beef Stew really does sound perfect for dinner tonight!! I love it!!

Nancy - You really are a great fan staying up so late to watch your Devils!! We watched the not so Big, Bad Bruins last night and they played more like new born Bear Cubs!! So many out with injuries though, its hard to be too mad when half the team is away!! Maybe they will save all the good hockey for the playoffs??? :noidea:

Ok I have major catch up to do around here and at home, so hopefully it will be a productive day. I also have to place a Norwex order with my DD, she is having a party and lots of us from home use the Norwex products for cleaning, just love it!! I have saved major $$ on cleaning products that I do not have to buy anymore. Any of you use it?? Ok gotta go make hubby and myself something to eat for brunch. Have a great day everyone!

I have Windows 8.1 on my new Surface and love it. DH does too, so we got a touch screen monitor for the new desktop. We took the computer to the store yesterday and they just swapped it for another one. Again, Win 7 is fine, but haven't tried to run the upgrade yet. Got interrupted by BIL's call in frustration trying to set up HIS new computer (first ever of his own having always used ones at work, but he's retiring next year...) Appears his monitor came without the needed cable to connect to the computer! They're sending him one. Today is football day, so maybe tomorrow.

Chris, yesterday sounds like a challenge, but at least you got that phase of the bathroom done. Hope today is more tranquil.

Phylis, I'm surprised by your weather yesterday. I'll take the gray here with all the snow melting. Hope it gets better there.

Trudy, thanks for the words on Win 8, I know many people unhappy with it, but we hope it will work out. Your IL's bed situation reminds me of the antique bed we slept in at my husband's aunt's house - and the night it collapsed with us in it! (just sleeping, folks!!)

Cinda, yes, stew sounds perfect!

Nancy, doesn't sound good for the Devils, but seasons can turn around. I'm really liking the Bryce Canyon pages. We've never visited that area but know it is beautiful.

Hope everyone has a pleasant Sunday!
