Happy weekend, O-Fam! Did everyone get to sleep late this morning? I woke up at my normal time but stayed in bed until 6.

Yesterday was kind of a bust of a shopping day but that was pretty much what I expected. It is hard to shop when you don't know what to get people. Caitlyn picked up some of the supplies for the hand-lettered greeting cards that she is making for the open house. It felt really weird being in a paper-scrapbooking section of a store. It has been a long, long time and I thought I might miss it but nope, I didn't. Digital is so much better!

Question for you-- how much would you pay for a hand-lettered Christmas card? She was thinking of charging $1 each but I think she could get more than that. Etsy has them around $4-5 each or a pack of 5 for about $20 but I don't think that anyone around here would pay that much.
We *cough Gary cough* aren't doing the dog treat shelves. The basement is getting much cleaner- Gary is doing a fantastic job but the woodworking area is still not very navigable. And we never got the supplies, so that will get tabled for maybe next year.
I would love to have him cut some of those wine holders that he did last year, he has the "blanks" cut so all he would need to do is shape, sand, and stain them. I would even do the sanding and staining but not the cutting, no way.

I was feeling a bit off. I had nightmares the night before about my appt with the breast surgeon this upcoming week. I dreamed that she told me the spits were cancer and they were going to Stage it soon. Darn it, the spots are just that. No way of knowing anything at all about them at this point but wow, my brain likes to work overtime while I am asleep.

Today, I am going to remake the lotion bars and then label everything that I have done so far. Then, maybe I can work on some fun scrap things? Maybe??

Have a fantastic day!

Nancy- I thought I was going to blow away! The wind was crazy. That must have been disappointing to lose a close game like that, but yeas, scoring makes it more exciting.
Enjoy watching the games from your chair.
Scott had a microscope like that when he was a kid. It was a hand help one and you could place it over a moving object- he loved to find bugs. Then you could make a movie out of it with the software.
I know your DH is a professor, but what does he teach?

Cait and I are thinking about asking my mom for a small spa day GC for Christmas as our big gift but I have to see what else I "need" before I can ask for a "want." But I think a Spa day for Trudy is wonderful!

Trudy-- :first: for finishing your calendar-- this was record time! Everyone is going to *love* them!
Is your Gary feeling better and not snoring? My Gary was able to stay in bed all night and only J came on the bed with us. W sleeps in her crate or she would have been smothering us too.
Is there anything from the Disney Store that they might need for the trip, like backpacks or the trading pins?

Rae- I am sure that you will settle into a smooth work routine. I have a hard time getting distracted so I am really amazed by how well you stay focused. I wish you could teach me how to do that :)
were you able to eat a bit of stuffing last night? I cannot imagine not having stuffing or bread. Ever. LOL
Sorry about the lens but you don't need that kind of flakiness and potential aggravation. Good luck finding the perfect one for you.

Jean- sending "perfect talk vibes" to you although you won't need them. have a great time with your talks!! I am looking fwd to hearing all about them.

Felis-- I am so sorry that the trip was disappointing and that you didn't get to see the lion. And really sorry to hear that getting lost made you and your sister fight a bit with each other. I have had that happen too and I know how hard it is to not take your feelings out on the other person. And really no need for the driver to be so rude!
Who is Pepper the Robot? Sounds very futuristic!
As you see, I didn't have much luck at all with my shopping either and it put me in a grumpy mood too. We had to go to Walmart to get insulin for Gary now that we found a different kind that is cheaper than what he was using. That store puts me in the crankiest mood on a good day.
The older I get, the more I like to shop online. :D

I need more coffee... who wants a cup? :tea:

good morning - well we are expecting lots of rain and wind. This morning was actually below freezing. My DH and Luther are out walking. He is really good about getting Luther out. I have lots of hockey including many matinee games especially my Devils are playing the Winnipeg Jets. My team does not play well against this team. Yes my team is better but I need them to be really good. Cory, my goalie, is playing really well so I do have that. Then I get the whole evening of watching games that I don't have to get nervous as I can just cheer for any team. Luther had a great time at dogie day care. They really seem to love him so that makes me so happy! Got my errands done so that too was good. Today is also laundry day. And hopefully get lots of scrapping done.

Chris I know exactly what you mean about shopping. I find it so disheartening when I don't know what to buy. I am not a good peruser as I don't like wasting my time. LOL Have fun making your new goodies.

Trudy congrats on the calendar! That is such a great present! I bet everyone looks forward to the new calendar. So glad you were able to find the monkeys. And yes you should get extra batteries, I bet they go through them fast. I look forward to seeing photos come the holidays. And yes tell your main guy that I watched the Bruins defeat the Sharks. They looked pretty good in that game so maybe they are getting back their injured and are getting their act together.

Rae so glad that you are enjoying your new work schedule. As organized as you are I figured it would not take you long to get settled in.

Jena have fun with your talks today! I know you do a great job. Stay dry!

Felis so sorry that the trip was not that good. Getting lost can be an adventure if you have time. I once told a friend to take the wrong exit and he got a bit upset but then realized it was not that bad and in just a few miles we were back on the right road. Hope the weekend goes well!

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. We had a great dinner at Jen's last night. I made a salad with tomatoes, apples and carrots with greens and made a vinaigrette. I never had time to get the cranberry sauce made so I'll try that another time. Jen made a gluten free dressing so I had a few bites and it was yummy but not sure if it is why I have a bit of a headache this morning. Found out that they sell the sodastream canisters (for carbonated water) at Staples so Jen will be able to pick them up for me with her discount. Another little perk of her working there! When we got home we watched the first few episodes of The Good Doctor and we both loved it. Had a lazy morning, finishing my book Goddesses. Now its time for a shower and will head over to Sears and then grocery shopping. I've got chores to do around here later and then maybe I can scrap. My wkend never seems to go as planned so we'll see LOL.

Chris - maybe for card cost, how about $2.00? I think these days a lot of people buy at the dollar store for a buck so would worry that too high a price will deter people. I didn't see the vendors having much luck at the craft fairs this year with selling their homemade cards. If I decide to do this for next year I am going to keep costs down for supplies and sell fairly cheap. The worst that would happen is that I end up keeping most of my cards and using them personally. I have lots of time to think about my plans for it.

Nancy - sounds like a sports filled day for you. Have fun scrapping too.

Everyone else, hope all is well.

I'm getting into the shower and getting my day started now. Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Yesterday I was too tired, so I wasn't cleaned up thoroughly, and today compensate this with more spent time. I was need from few tries to put one black cat at the right room, because he tried all the time to upgrade his level of access :nono: . Nothing other interesting, than that wasn't happened today. I finished things, which had to do at one usual friday. And now hope on small ''my time''.

Chris, the mass print cards here cost usually 1€ - 2,5€, and I printed cards for £2, so the hand made have to be competitive of that. The cards are expensive, we was kidding that for this amount is better to give books than the greeting cards :) . Don't be disappointed that some of your ideas have to wait till the next year, this will give you more time to consider them detailed. Here is a video with Pepper the robot, unfortunately I don't see his dancing performance, because he was on work at the bank. But he answered on a simple questions from some children, laughing with them, and then explain to us about the bank new web options. He is like these parrots who have learned a few tricks. It's so weird, machine who act too much like a pet, immediately gains sympathy. I stick to one man and her two lovely granddaughters, so too can see closer how Pepper interact with child, it was so cute.

Nancy, what kind of errands you mean, I'm skip this, sorry?! Whole evening of watching games sounds good to me :cool2: !

Rae, did you have any book review posted already?! Get fun with the shopping!

Jean, I'm sure you are busy today, and also it is successful day!

Trudy, hope you have a funny weekend!

Well, it's done. My morning talk was " A New Look at Documentation" for genealogy. Not the most compelling title perhaps. Three people who really wanted to hear it couldn't come and the weather (wind and rain) was dismal so not totally a surprise that only 14 made it in time for that talk. Maybe our group's record low. We usually have about 20 these days though not so long ago it more like 30-40. In my user group we had five and some good questions and discussion. Lunch is a brown bag or take-out option where we get to just visit. The afternoon session is less formal and I talked about Ancestry.com family trees and demonstrated ways to add documentation to them. Bet you're all glad you didn't have to sit through all that. :biggrin1: But you know I love it!

Chris, sure hope you had a satisfying day and the remake of the bars turned out well. I haven't been to a Walmart in years and always hated the one near us, so can well imagine. About Cait's cards, I have no idea what the market will bear, but sounds like good advice from others here. Goodness, sorry about the nightmare. We sure do find ways to torment ourselves. Hope you have a good evening and peaceful night.

Nancy, good luck with your hockey games and you'll have a good time with your other sports watching. DH has the Ohio State game on now and it looks like they will win by a lot as predicted. We're going to stay in with a pork roast tonight and watch more college football.

Rae, hope the headache left and the shopping was good.

Felis, so sorry Friday was not as expected. It is so frustrating when things get mixed up, so no surprise the two of you got cranky with each other. Pepper looks like fun to encounter. Hope the cat got the right idea about where it belongs.

Happy weekend despite the weather!

hellloooooO Oooos! How are you all doing today?
I slept well last night, only Kibs was on the bed next to (on top of, really) me.

Yesterday was another blur of a day. I remade the lotion bars, but then they broke as I unmolded them. Remelted, whipped, cooled, whipped again, and then poured. One final time. If they don't come out, I give up. :eek:hwell:

I did a lot of the labeling of what I had made but sheesh, I have so much more that I want to make. Bath bombs are next up. That usually involves a lot of cursing since they are so finicky when you unmold them. :tape:

I started my scrap photo for my Dec challenge and then started to work on another one. But OMG-- Photoshop keeps crashing on me. I think it stopped working 4 times yesterday alone. That is not good. It is a really old version and if it stops working I don't know what I will do. Please keep every last finger and toe crossed for me.

My parents are coming up with bagels this morning. It will be nice to see them here, esp since I haven't seen my day in a while. I saw him last week for his birthday dinner but that wasn't a good night to chat. it was too loud and chaotic. Not that my house is any less loud or chaotic, however. *grins*
I have to clean off my kitchen table. It is covered in F-W's stuff.

I am also going to have to get ready for food shopping tomorrow first thing. You know much I love that!

Have a super day, everyone!

Nancy- a day full of hockey, can't get much better than that! How did the Devils do against the Jets? Interesting that even while the devils are the better team they don't play well. Is it a team play-style difference?
yeah, I am with you, I am not a shopping "peruser" either. The more I look, the more confused and discouraged I get.

Rae- your dinner with Jen sounds like it was a great time. I wonder what was in the dressing that gave you a headache?
I think $2 for a card will be a good price. I really hope that people will show up. Cait was bummed last year that only family bought her photos, so I hope that she does great this time. She only spent about $20 on the supplies and most everything can be used for her own things. I will buy some cards off of her if no one else does but she will be able to use them for herself too.

Felis- cats really have minds of their own! Hope that cat stays where you need him to be. Are you feeling happier today? ~sending you hugs to make you smile
Thanks for the video about Pepper- crazy that robots are smarter than some people I know :pound:

Jean- Congrats on the successful talks! we seem to be in a very similar weather pattern, it has been cold and rainy and very windy for days now. That is disappointing that a few people weren't able to come because of it. Can you share your notes?
Find ways to torment ourselves? Who me??? hahahaha!! It is one of my best talents :D

good morning whew the wind is blowing but at least the sun is shining. It was pretty heavy rain at night but this morning all we have left is wind and dropping temps. We got Luther out for a good walk and it was not cold but again that wind. LOL Well my Devils continue to play poorly in Winnipeg and lost 5-2. But my rookie Will Butcher got his first goal in the NHL so that was cool. I am sure he would rather have had the win. It was weird but for 3 min they played poorly and gave up 3 goals. Such is the learning experience of a team with young players. They play the Wild on Monday night so today is hockey but not until 5pm. So first I will watch football. So funny last night I went to watch Outlander but the app would not work so my son and I discovered we did not have a contract with Fios for over a year. So we called this morning and really lowered our payments. How weird.

Chris glad that you made your labels and got more of your goodies done. And you still had time for scrapping you go girl. And yes I told you that chip challenge was a real challenge but I bet Scott would love it and least when he would be back to normal. Zach said they were all fine after about 30 min.

Felis we have a black cat and she is a sweetie but she does have a mind of her own. I hope that you kitty learns its spot in the house. Hope you got sleep and have a great day!

Rae your dinner with Jen sounds awesome. My son called this am to make sure my DH and I know what we are bringing for Thanksgiving. It is fun to have all together.

Jean I think your talks sound really interesting. I love history and knowing where my family came from. Sorry your group has shrunk but the weather is a real draw back.

Waving Trudy!

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... I was MIA from here yesterday, but my day was filled with shopping and going to the farm market and to Christmas Chaos. The annual Christmas Chaos is always fun to go to as there are usually some pretty unique things for sale there. One booth was filled with recycled pieces from Motorcycles made into things like robots, birds, dogs all kinds of very interesting things. The fellow who makes them is retired military and avid biker, so talented! To expensive for my bank account though :becky: I ended up just purchasing some soaps from my fav soap lady and was glad that I found her at the Christmas Chaos, because she is usually at the Farm Market. A trip to Home Depot to pick up a few things DH needed for a project he is working on and then I picked up my Calendar at Staples. I only had one printed out (mine) as I will have to do some changes for the others, not everyone wants all the birthdays that I have on mine or that MIL/FIL want on theirs. But I am very happy with the way it turned out this year! I did not even show DH, so it will a surprise for him to see it on Christmas also.

Chris - Hope that there is not too much swearing today with the making of the bath bombs :tape: That is not good that your Photoshop is not behaving and now you probably can't even get updates for your older version I bet. I hope its just a temporary glitch it would be horrible if you lost your photoshop!! ITA with Rae and think that $2 for the cards would be a good price, any higher and she won't sell any. Enjoy your time with your parents today! How nice of them to bring bagels too! Oh BTW I had the best sleep last night, DH is finally feeling better and no snoring at all last night (well not that I heard anyway)

Nancy - Hope you are right about the Bruins perhaps starting to get their act together, it is hard to win hockey games when you only have one good line. They still have a ways to go LOL. They sure looked better than Montreal did last night :becky: I see you have scrapped your page about the chip challenge, I will have to go take a better look at it, your pages are always so much fun! Hope you get to have another great day today!

Rae - How nice that your dinner with Jen went so well , sorry that you got a headache though! Great that you can get a discount on the soda stream dispenser that is awesome! Not sure what is so special about carbonated water? I have never tried it, is it better for you? I have watched a couple of episodes of the good dr. but can't get my DH interested in watching it, so I will have to catch up on it on my own during the day I guess. Hope you have a nice relaxing Sunday and you get to do some scrapping today!

Felis - That darn black cat LOL hopefully it listens to you and behaves! Hoping your day today was a good one!

Jean - I would love to attend one of your talks and I bet my In-Laws could use the information too! Sorry that the attendance was low for your session, but perhaps the weather played a big part in that! Hoping that the weather is better for you all today! Oh I saw a interesting clip on the news yesterday that there are record numbers of different species of birds in our area a White-winged Crossbil was rescued the other day after hitting a window. A finch often seen only in the Interior and Alberta during this time of year when it migrates south for the fall/winter. They are seeing record numbers of owls here now also and think that it is because of all the wildfires that happened this summer in the interior. Anyway I thought you might find this interesting?

Ok best get some breakfast and then it is :washing: day and the bed needs to be stripped and changed also, a bit of housework and then the rest of the day is mine to spend scrapping hopefully! Wish me luck because this usually does not work out the way I intended LOL. Have a wonderful Sunday ladies!

Good morning, ladies. Had a nice quiet night catching up on Blacklist and can't wait for the winter break to be over and it comes back in January. Tonight we'll watch a few more episodes of Good Doctor. I downloaded episodes of Queen Sugar so I can catch up on my laptop while I scrap later today. I'm heading out in a few minutes to VV (50% off today) to take a quick look before heading to the store for prescriptions and groceries. Then home for the day which will be relaxing. Yesterday we popped into Sears to get a few fridge ice/water dispenser filters but they were sold out (darn it, they were 60% off, should have gone sooner to get them). But I did try on a few pairs of jeans b/c I was complaining as we were walking around that my jeans were sliding down. So I grabbed a bunch to try on and discovered I'm not an 8 now, I'm a 6. I guess I lost a few more inches over the last couple of weeks and didn't realize it. So I was lucky to get a bunch at 60% off. So.....more clothing karma :) We popped into Home Outfitters and found crazy good prices for bathroom stuff so for super cheap we replaced our bath rug and got a bunch of towels/washcloths. I think the washcloths were $10 each and we got them for about $1.25. What a great shopping day for cheap!

I'm heading out now to VV so I'll be there when they open so hopefully it won't be too busy (they get really crowded on their sale days, I've discovered). So I'll be back later for personals.

Hello ladies,
my uncle comes to visit us today. This meetings always makes me so sad!!! He is hunter and we always dispute for that. It's so strange, he is nice man, but why have this awful need to speak with everybody for his sadistic hobby. Ughhh! I tried to push the conversation in other direction, but it always get back to the hunt. So this upset me much and spoiled my day. If you can't change your own family how expect to save the world? All my efforts are just dust and waste of time, aren't they?!

Jean, I can understand your disappointment from that the weather is confused the plans of your audience. But smaller group is not necessarily bad, this is give them more time for questions and personal touch.

Chris, so bad about Photoshop, hope you can fix it some way! I'm not much familiar with the yearly subscriptions and support center, but hope someone there can resolve the problem. Hope the meeting with your parents is long and nice!

Nancy, lower your payments sounds good, is this some kind of loyal client programs or what?!

Trudy, WOW, so you'll put different birthdays on the different calendars, this is so much work, but will make them so happy, I'm sure!

Rae, such a great deals!

Good night, my dears, stay warm and safe, and make sure that what you do really have matters!

Today was more wind and rain, some of the rain looking white for a bit, but so far okay. I'm very lazy with no real plans. We saw the Browns lose their tenth straight and will watch more football tonight. I don't really like football, but I can sit with DH but do other things too. I think we'll also finish a lovely but tricky jigsaw puzzle tonight.

Chris, hope the bars unmolded well and the bath bombs didn't cause bad language. Starting with parents and bagels must have been nice. Good wishes for tomorrow's shopping.

Nancy, ouch, that outcome for the Devils wasn't fun. Hope you have fun with the games you watch today. Will Luther go to Thanksgiving with you? Nice to have everyone together.

Trudy, shopping is far from enjoyable for me, so I really sympathize with not finding much. The calendar being personalized is so nice of you. They must be wonderful. I am very interested in the bird sightings. I wouldn't have realized some may result from the fires. That is really sad, but at least they can try to find food and shelter elsewhere for now. I don't know what is normal for you, but we are always excited when we get White-winged Crossbills. Snowy Owls have been reported here the last few days but I don't know if they'll stick around as they sometimes do in the winter. Wishing you luck that your day turns out as you wanted!

Rae, you continue to amaze with your shopping powers. And wow with going down another size in the jeans. Hope you had more success today and an enjoyable evening.

Felis, sad about the uncle. When someone is set in their ways like him, I don't think any talking will change him. If the world turned against hunting it might have an effect, but not from just one person. He will think you just don't understand. So trying to change the world is still where you need to focus. Hope you could clear your mind of the conflict and get a good night's sleep.

Hoping you all wake to a pleasant day.

I've got some "me" time this afternoon. I'm going to scrap a page and watch a few shows on my laptop.

Chris - hope you get all your homemade goodies done and ready for your open house soon. I bet you will. A spa day for you and C sounds wonderful, hope you get it.

Nancy - sounds like you will have a wonderful family dinner later this week with your son.

Trudy - how nice to have found your soap lady. Christmas Chaos sounds fun. Have a great day scrapping, I'm going to play for a few hours now too. BTW...carbonated water (like sparking water) is fizzy, has a bit of a different taste and I find it a nice change from just plain old water. I put a few drops of my flavored stevia in it.

I'm off to scrap now....what a nice way to spend my afternoon :)
