Good Morning ladies...I am up early....couldn't sleep.......

Thanks so much for all of your thoughts and concerns.

Court was pretty much what I expected....nothing really changed....there were a lot of updates from everyone involved and then the judge read the riot act to Traci and the kids father.

In all reality, the kids will be with me for at least a year...if not permanantly.


Okay...I am gonna run fix me a cup of coffee and take some ibuprofen....my arthritis is flaring today!!

Nana- hugs and prayers- love your new avi! Happy Wednesday to all - I took advil for the headache I went to bed with and woke up with- but tomorrow I am off!
 
Busy day today - DS have a drs appointment at 2. He's been so tired lately - I know, he's a teenager, but it's been really bad. School's not working, and he don't want to do anything. Yesterday I found him crying :( He has his down periods, but this one has been looooong. (not sure everyone knows - he's got Asperger's, and some times his life isn't easy). I've fixed this drs app to rule out physical problems - or find them if they are there. We have thyroid issues in my family, and I want that checked. Please say a prayer for my John!

Other than that - DH is back home, and I'm happy. Dinner guest tonight - my nephew. He's John's "contact person" - this means he gets payed to do something with John once a week. That's something that is available for kids with a diagnosis. Social training and a way to interact with other than the immidiate family. So after the lasagna John will go home with him and have a "boy's night".

Oh - and today's song that was in my head when I woke up was Fashion I have no idea where the songs come from. Anyone else having this? You wake up, and you start humming a song - this one I haven't heard in years. I'm weird :)
 
Prayers Eva for you and John- glad you are ruling out physical - mono is also a cause of extreme tiredness- went through that with my son once-Hope he enjoys his boys night after the drs!

Laurie, hope that headache goes away as that is frustrating and then effects anything else you want to do.

We have one more nice day here and then then rain mixed with that 'S' word tomorrow.

Good Morning ladies, another night on the couch! Did I ever tell you that it is an at least once a week thing....my poor DH snores, he always has. It never bothered me before and I could sleep right throgh it, but since going through menopause I'm a light sleeper, so yeah it bothers me, so in order to sleep I get up and park my poor tired body on the couch and get some much need shut eye.....

Laurie - hoping you get some relief from that headache today!

Nana - It's never an easy thing to deal with parents that aren't parents. My mother had to take care of my sisters' daughter because the home life was dangerous for her. You and your granddaughter will be in my prayers for sure.....praying that you will have the strength to raise her into a beautiful young adult and praying that she will always feel loved and wanted in your arms.

Eva - you too will be on my prayer list, hoping that the doctors visit is productive and you get the answers you want.

Chris - hoping the kids aren't driving you crazy! Stay warm.

Hey, everybody!
First off, I wanted to apologize for being such a negative nelly yesterday. I don't like how complainy I was, and I'm sorry. Being positive brings positive back, and usually I try to do that, but I was off my game yesterday.

Anyhow, enough of that!

I made a big crock pot of black beans yesterday and I woke up really hungry for them. So I'm having black beans and rice with sour cream, salsa, and cheese for breakfast! With coffee! It's good!

Nana- I know this has been said, but it's a really good thing that those kids have got such an incredibly awesome nana. Hoping your arthritis calms down. It's this dang cold weather!

Laurie- here's to the end of that headache!

Eva- I love that song! I definitely wake up with weird songs in my head, and they show up throughout the day, too. Hey, prayers and thoughts for John. It's so tough, isn't it, with special needs kids. It's hard to decide what is related to their condition and what isn't. Especially with these developmental disabilities. I find myself wondering, "Is she refusing to eat that because her disorder tells her she can't, or is it just her being stubborn?" I'm hoping you all can find some peace and balance for him!

Hey Chris, wha- oh, she's gone! Whoosh!

Donna- yuck, snow mixed with rain is the worst! I hope it's not too bad.

Frani- I am a super light sleeper as well. I have to take tylenol PM every night or I'll be tossing and turning. Wow, I wonder if I'm in for a much worse case of it coming up here in a few years. Glad you have that couch to sleep on, and I hope it's comfy!

Morning all...wrote a bunch ...but must have hit the wrong key and Poof! :violin:

Only thing here is that my car is now at the dealer. I should have listened to my dh and taken it in yesterday morning because the light came back on as soon as I started to drive last night. Live and learn...I do have his car to use if needed so that's a blessing.

No 's' here, and barely a frost on the car at 7am when I was scraping on my way to the dealer. Cars and computers...the mainstays of my life...but really in the big picture, just stuff. I'm thinking today will be more of a shift the studio around and start boxing things I want to use at the Boys and Girls club. I want to teach them some kind of art stuff and so I'll get my supplies and then talk to the director. She seemed really strapped for help and I have the time.

Nana - Prayers to you and the whole family. I can't imagine…But you end up doing what you have to do, esp when it's the best for children.

Laurie - Hope the headache drifts away as the day goes on.

Eva - Prayers for John? you've got them! Thanks for explaining his situation. We have a friend who I believe has a mild case of Aspergers, tho as a man in his 40s I'm not sure he was every diagnosed.

re the song that just appears? oh yes. 'Ear worms' and sometimes I just have to put a very busy song on to drown the worm!

Donna - How are the birthday celebrations going!?!? And "S"? well it is November after all. We often have had some serious weather on November 11, and my teenage son gave me grief for going shopping one year and said I deserved the blizzard that hit.

Frani - I had never slept with a snorer til my dh. I almost called it quits early on because I was beside myself with the racket. He now uses Y-snore and it's quoted the loudest bits down. I have spent many a night on the sofa bed in the living room and can open that bed and dress it half asleep. It helps me sleep sounder if I have exercised that day but not always.

Chris - Another snow day eh? Sending you patience ~~~~~~> This could get old fast, eh?

Andrea - I like real food for breakfast as opposed to breakfast usuals. Your black beans sounds like a super Southwest way to start the day.
 
Morning my favorite "O"'s !! No time to stay here today, off to work and running a little behind this morning, what else is new!! But I wanted to tell you all how much I think about you all day long! So many of you that I wish I could help out! Please know that you are loved and thought of, sometimes I feel so sorry for myself that my daughter went through such a terrible time and then I hear about your loved ones too, I feel ashamed and should be thankful for all that I have. Well enough of that!!!
My wish for all of you today is that you find happiness in your day and that good health comes to all of you!!

Off to work for me gotta go :wave: :bolt:
 
Trudy, i just love what you wrote. can i just say "ditto" to those loving thoughts for all of you? i am awful with addressing each one of you, but i hope for more good days than bad in the days ahead for all of you.

the sun is shining today. that has to be a good thing.
 
Good morning ladies!

quick pop in for me, then I need to go sit in my car with the seat warmers on. I'm 80% sure my discs that have been impacted since my junior year of high school have finally herniated. I can't even walk from our bedroom to the bathroom without Jeff helping me. I have two appraisals to process this morning, but my boss totally understands I'm moving slowly and will be showing up in sweat pants. It's a miracle I got pants on at all this morning!

ok... time to force myself out of bed and hit the drug store for a new heating pad to take to work.
 
Dr app went well - they took some blood, and we will have the results in about a week. John was a bit happier when they left, and he's usually in a very good mood when he gets back home from my nephew's.
 
Good afternoon ladies. Sounds like everyone is off an moving today. I had early plans which are always great for me to get moving but I hate early mornings. LOL!! I had a leaders meeting for my church group. I'm not a leader yet but will be in February so we are just getting things figured out. Now I'm at home watching my friend's little baby. She is too cute all bundled up and sleeping. Fortunately I am not one of those moms that yearns for babies and so I can see her think she's cute and send her home. Happy as a clam. Addie is excited because me and the baby will be picking her up from school today. She's super excited about that.

Well, there rae lots of you today so I'll get started on some personals...

Linda - I am so glad court went well. I know this whole process is not what you wanted for your daughter and her kids but you are an amazing nana and those kids will love you for it and hopefully they'll be able to have a meaningful relationship with their mom this way. Always sending love and prayers your way.

Laurie - Booooo on the headache. I hope it just magically goes away today.

Eva - That contact person program sounds fantastic. I'm glad it helps him and puts him in better spirits. Good thinking to have everything checked on John. Sometimes you get so wrapped up with the usual issues you don't think of other factors. Hopefully everything is good to go.

Chris - That stinks on the school closures. I hope it randomly warms up and school starts up again or at least everything gets plowed quickly so that the roads are safe for those buses. I also wanted to add that with allergic reaction type itchiness if you can, you can also try Allegra, Claritin or Zyrtec. They offer the itch relief of Benedryl but don't make you sleepy. I am always full of Allegra when I am covered in mosquito bites (plus all the time anyway from my regular allergies). Just something else to throw in there.

Donna - Happy Wednesday to you too. I hope you don't get covered with that white stuff. If you mention it here in NC they close school. It is silly.

Fran - You are very nice to your husband not kicking him out of bed. My FIL slept on the couch for years until they had separate rooms. he finally got a sleep study done and got a cpap and now they sleep in the same room again. My dad did that too...and he sleeps the best he ever has. He had no idea how bad his sleep was until he got full air while he slept. Something to maybe look into for the snoring.

Andrea - I see you all the time so I'll just say...Hi!!

Maureen - How fun to volunteer at the Boys & Girls Club. I hope you love doing it and it comes together easy for you. I am horrible at teaching kids things. I'm so glad other people have a calling for it.

Trudy - I am always late too. I don't mean to be but it just works out that way. I know what you mean about feeling bad for feeling sorry for myself. My thinking has changed though eovr the past few years. When I am going through something sucky I'm not happy that other people are struggling but it comforts me that other people are struggling and getting through their days. Helps me know that I can do it too. (especially when it is a piddly issue and doesn't stand up to some of those bigger issues).

Phyllis - YOu are so sweet. sending you some hugs today!!

Meg - That really stinks about your back. I wish your body would just cooperate with you and not always kick your butt.

Alright...off to eat some yummy pumpkin bread. I made it myself (thanks to Meg's mention of it). I even pureed the pumpkin. Way too easy.
