happy labor Day in the USA! last day of summer here..... *sob*

So i had good news yesterday- i made it to the lake with my friend. No kids;) The beach was open on Sat, but no one was allowed in the water. We figured we would just sit and enjoy some sun. Too bad that the sun was not showing its face. But we stayed for almost 3 hours. Hardcore- that's us!
Its supposed to rain today - actually all week, my poor basement that still has wet patches here and there. Although I can't complain to the the poor people along the Passaic river.... still flooded.....

So i guess I am going to steam clean (harley is having accidents almost every other day- but I still cannot bring myself to have her put down, I just can't) and maybe organize my office so I don't lose school papers like I did last year.

What about all of you?

Me me Monday- I want to put some photos that i had printed into albums. Since I have going 100% digi, I don't keep up with albums at all so when I get photos printed I thorw the envelope into a pile. bad me. :)

Laurie- I am sorry I couldn't make it to dinner, the invite must have gotten lost in the mail hahahah!!
Sounds absolutely DELISH!!!!
The only saving grace that I have with September being here is that i usually get a burst of "cooking inspiration" and what you posted sounded so good it makes me want to poke through cookbooks today.

Terra- I was going to ask if Iain was aware of the differences, but it seems to cruel that she does. I am always amazed by what the brain can do to regenerate and compensate and I hope that this happens for her.

Trudy- what a great story to share with terra. xoxo
Your day sounds fantastic. Just heavenly! I must have missed that invite too ;)

Nana- yay for sleep!! I was able to get a straight 5 hours in last night too, and what a difference it can make.

Love to all of you!

Good morning ladies. Not much going on here. Turned cool yesterday which was very nice. Went down to Dad's and had a taco bar for supper. I found a new recipe for a banana cake that I tried on people...very yummy with a praline frosting. Then we came home and had a fire outside in the fire pit. It was a good day.

Need to get a few things done today...but I think relaxation will still be the word of the day!

The beach with a girlfriend sounds lovely Chris. All that fresh air (even without sunshine) might have been the cause of the 5 straight hours of sleep.

Hi! So am I supposed to write about yesterday, or today?! Warning: newbie! Yesterday was our last day of gorgeous sunshine, it went down with a bang last night and it's been cold and wet all day today (which is NOT a holiday in Germany, boo). The kids have been home all day because their English Preschool doesn't start up until next Monday and they don't go to German Kindergarten on Mondays BECAUSE of English Preschool!

Since I spent the last week sewing like mad to finish DS's first-day-of-Kindergarten outfit, and the rest of the time scrapping and blogging, the housework got SERIOUSLY neglected. So today, I've been cleaning. And cleaning. And cleaning some more. Also watching a good friend's son, because she just got a new job and needed a last-minute babysitter!

What I'd like to do for ME today...I'd like my house to magically clean itself for me! ha ha, no really. I want to finish editing pictures of the last two weekends so that I can scrap again. :D

Thanks for letting me chatter!

Amber

Hi amber!! Woot! We have a new Daily O-er, O-Family member!

This is just our thread to check in, say hi, share good or bad news. Whatever you want to talk about. Usually I start it each day, but anyone can. If you like, you can talk about your day or comment on other people's posts.

Its kind of a free for all, which is always fun. :D

And ITA- I would love it if my house would clean itself too. Or at the very least, the other members of my family would clean up after themselves. Sheesh!

here's me, wading in with tales of my somewhat boring life! i like Amber's wish for a magically clean house. do you know what i seem to be spending a lot of time doing? trying to figure out Facebook and forums and privacy settings and stuff. my husband keeps coming into the study and frowning at me, sitting at the computer AGAIN....

then, too, i'm spending a lot of time in the gallery here at The O, admiring all the talent on display.

hopefully i'll have something actually exciting to tell one of these days. today doesn't look like it's going to be the day. gray. cold. rain. i feel November waiting in the wings.

always chatty at the O!!
Do you think if we all crinkle our noses together enough magic will pour out for our houses to magically clean themselves? Ready...Set...Crinkle!! LOL!! I just made a new mess that I need to clean up and we still have PLENTY of moving mess. Ugh!!

Today we will be going to the fair but poor Addie is still a bit sickly. I took her to the ER on Saturday night (the ER on post is more like an oversized urgent care) and they found possible signs of a uti but thought in general she has a viral nastiness. But it won't go away. We are getting close to a week of fevers now. She started last wednesday. Ugh!!! She is super sweet when she's sick though, so there's our silver lining. But we may not all get to go to the fair. Might just be Derek and Ethan. A friend of ours won some fair tix that cover everythng but food.

Today I am still feeling a bit somber...but I can't even imagine my friend Michelle. This morning she woke up to the first day of her life without her husband. I have been cranky all morning and it makes me feel bad. I need to grab my husband and babies repeatedly and love on them as much as I can for the short time we get to be on this earth. Exuding love 24/7 is easier said than done. I did do some art journaling yesterday. It made me feel better. I think I might even frame it as a reminder of how short life is. We'll see.

Well, I need to run off and enjoy my day off.

I'll try and come back in awhile for personals...but I am so excited to see some new faces in here. I love all of you but you're boring me. LOL!! JK!! I do love you all, but it is still nice to see newbies in here. Please make yourself comfortable and just jump right in. Sorry guys...I'm trying to be silly but am off my game a little and feeling awkward. LOL!!

Hugs to everyone!!

Hugs Clara- prayers for your friend. I have been working on the basement, getting it ready for the Amish mudders to come- if it rains, they will be here sooner, if it doesn't it will be several weeks, but I want to be ready for them and have the floors all covered and as much stuff as possible out of the way- they have to do both ceiling and walls.

Chris and anyone- today's menu- well we already finished the french onion soup for lunch and I have a huge batch of chili in the crock pot. I will freeze the leftovers. I have a bottle of red ipocras wine on a candle warmer- mmmm smooth and cinnamon tasting. I need to make cornbread for me and have some bread for mr. gorgeous. I am taking photos of the basement today and will post them somewhere! I need to do some CT scrap as well.

Blessings to all my O friends- new and old.

Clara.....LOTS OF HUGS for you sweetie and your friend!! I am praying for her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a horrible ordeal!!!!!! I hope that she will have peace as soon as possible!!!!!!

For me today.....Jesse and Jaiden went to spend some time with Traci....so things are much quieter at the moment....I am off to the grocery store to pick up a few things for the week...These days I don't know which way to go first...but I will get things ironed out soon. It's raining here today.....yesterday was HOT HOT HOT AND HUMID!!!!!!! It was wild, the kids fought all day long, Mike and I were about to pull our hair out!!! But it ended up being okay in the end.....Mike took Cameran to his leased land to shoot his little bb gun and I took Jesse and Jaiden to McD's to play and icecream....I got home before they did and had them down and asleep when they got home at 9, and the three of us just watched TV (BIG BROTHER) and then went to bed....but saw where a page I had made made the GSO blog and that was a little plus in my day!!!! HERE
I had been dying to post this page, but it was for a challenge I made over a month ago!!! I spent loads of time on this one and was rather proud...so that felt pretty good!!!

Okay...off to food shop!!! Have a great evening!!!! LOVE TO YOU ALL!!

always chatty at the O!!
Linda - Just a little thought for you...when my neighbor in WA got custody of her 4 grandkids, the 2 that had spent most of their time there had some major jealousy issues. So, good luck on that front with Cameron. I'll bet that is the cause of some of the fighting between the kids. Hugs!! Glad you are getting a few minutes of quiet here and there.

Very late getting in here today, have been very busy getting all the yard work and house work done today. Back to work tomorrow, but had a wonderful three days off and wish it would not end!! Just about to crack open a bottle of wine and have a relaxing sit on the deck before hubby fires up the BBQ, mmmm steak tonight and stuffed potatoes, perhaps some ceasar salad too. Hope everyone has had a great long weekend!!
