Good afternoon! Today was completely thrown off day. Addie had an eye appointment and it had to be first thing in the morning apparently. But because of the stormy weather Derek couldn't ride the motorcycle so he came back and did school with Ethan until I came back. But we are changing things up a bit and I made a bunch of worksheets for him but didn't have any printer ink. So they had to wait until I got home with ink to do anything besides spelling and math. By then Derek had let Ethan start watching a movie and getting him remotivated after that was quite a challenge. Now we are doing reading and he has to do vocabulary and it is reminding me of elementary school when I had to look up words and put them in my own words. Eeeek!!! I remember fighting with my mom tooth and nail about doing the same thing as homework. Right now we are reading the Chronicles of Narnia and starting with The Magician's Nephew. It is set up to go through the whole series in a year but there is no way I can get that little boy to do everything to go with it...all the vocab, and other various activities at that speed. I still need to have him assessed for ADD. The doctor I have been assigned to has no openings until November for new patients which is just not acceptable so I have to force them to find someone else for us. This is the downside of military medical coverage. It will all be covered when we get it taken care of but until then it is a pain.
Well, I'm sure I could write more, but I need to go and see if Addie is tearing up my upstairs. Ugh!! She's been doing a lot of that lately.
Chris - I hope your computer stops acting up. Isn't it new??
Laurie - sounds like a nice little weekend getaway. I need one of those to just relax and chill. I'm getting a weekend getaway in October but there will be a lot of drinking and late night and not very much relaxing. But it will be fun.
Linda - it sounds like you might be catching on to Sally's Monday thing. It is a new week which means ne beginnings, right? I hope this is a better week for you. Hugs.
Hi Trudy. I hope you had a smooth 4 hour shift. I hope you didn't put all of your umbrellas away or your raincoats. I always thought the concept of putting summer and winter clothes away was strange because I would wear most of my winter clothes all year. Although I wouldn't wear summer clothes throughout the year I didn't have a huge collection of them. I guess I'll have to start getting used to that concept now. We're still in summer clothes now though.
Petra - I know about 3-way chili and 5-way chili. I believe it is from Cincinatti. with a huge giant pile of cheese on top. I don't love chili without beans though, but I love the chili on spaghetti. I believe in Cincinatti Skyline is the place to go, but I am not sure.
Sally - there is an end in site to the madness. Yay!! I am so glad you were blessed with a gorgeous day to day...and that you got a nap. Love it. Now the countdown to YMG's return begins. Whoohoo!!
Alrighty...I've got Addie cleaning her room so we can watch a movie. Love you guys!!
