lOve the O!
Well- Good morning Chris- you are faking the cheer so well for a monday! I am on my second cup, and have decided to go to work today! MMG is not sure-it has been a rough couple of weeks for us. Seemed strange not to have the cat yowling at me this morning. We got the entire 3 rooms ceiling and walls in the basement primed yesterday. I think by the end of next weekend we will have it all painted! Then on to the next step.

Me me monday- stay on top of my paperwork and get the floors mopped- I know it is work- but I will feel so much better not walking on drywall dust in my barefeet!

Laurie, I am so sorry to hear about your cat. Really sorry.:( *nods with Maureen* Seems like we have lost several fur-babies here..... its probably much harder on us then them.
Did I ever share, or have you already seen the poem of the Rainbow bridge? That helps me so much when I miss my babies. if you haven't seen it, I'll post it for you.

Trudy- hope that you were able to balance your yard work with some relax-time! TY for sending me that video-- I LMBO!!!!

Jane- is it good news that you are closing down the shop or not good? Either way, I hope it is working out for the best. My boy Floyd-- 16 lb tuxedo "kitty" does that to me when I try to watch TV. He has to sit on my legs and b/c he is so big, I can't see over his ears!
Good for you for de-cluttering!

Frani- Ugh- that is a bummer about the stuff at Michael's being picked over. But awesome about scrapping and writing the tutorial. Was it one on the lighting effects? I'll have to check out that thread in a bit.

Better get going, hope everyone has a great day.

Morning all. We were two sleepy heads this am. Not sure why. DH usually gets up at ugh 04:30 but he was still sleeping at o6:30! Both of us forgot to turn the Jotul off last night so heat was coming up the stairs from the kitchen. Maybe that was it.

Laurie, I'll bet you will hear those cat-click nails now and then. I think our furbabies (though Sebastian would be insulted to be called a furbaby!) come around once in a while just to remind us of their funny love. Me hearing the click click is nothing - I can do WooWoo easily but Dick? he's a prove it to me engineer and he hears it at times.

Chris- glad the coffee is getting you going here! (btw, many a time I end up calling you Christ but then do delete that 't'!) Roots are what made me decide once again to let my hair go natural and gray-->silver. I had despaired that it would ever go past a dull brownish gray but finally it has. Of course at 67, it's a bit more fitting. I used to color it myself but always had to be sure I got it done just before a trip which was a pita in itself.

Frani - I don't dare look at your tutorial yet but I do have it bookmarked. Somehow my studio is back in one of 'those states'. When it bugs me this much, it's time to get going and clear out some muck.

Jane - what kind of shop do/did y'all have? I must have missed that. True to form, ratpacky me thought...I wonder if she had stuff I could use! No, no, no Maureen...NO!

Well, time to drink my tea, read my emails and make it a productive day. cya

Not a good start to my Monday morning! My laptop, which is the only working computer in the house is going whacko.....I turned it on this morning and got a disk drive message, stating the disk needs to be checked for consistency.....system NTFS volume label TI100343VOF. Mind you I don't know a thing about computers or how to fix issues so as much as I hate not having my laptop and being out of the loop I may have to take it in to the computer guys to see what's been going on with it.....

WOW Chris you have a hair girl coming to your house....wish I had one....I really need to learn how to dye my own hair, I hate sitting in the salon for 2 hrs not including waiting before they even talk to me.....

Maureen - yep it's the lighting effect tutorial, I think it turned out pretty good, the base of it was taken from an original tutorial I had been following and modified it to fit what I wanted to use it for.

Okay ladies, cross your fingers that I won't loose the computer for too long....maybe I can talk DH into getting a new one sooner then we planned.

always chatty at the O!!
Good morning ladies!! We had a late start morning today. Ethan was a mess so I told him to just go back to sleep for a bit. I think we might try some melatonin on him. Chris...do you know the kids dose? I'm thinking is it 3mg. I think I have 5's so I can just half those.

I had a very busy weekend. Saturday I bounced between my friend Michelle's house and my friend Carrie's house. Michelle was having a garage sale. I was surprised but she was selling a bunch of her husband's stuff. But when I actually looked through it, it was a lot of impersonal stuff...electronics, motorcycle gear, stuff like that. She's gonna move out to the coast near her parents so I think she is just trying to make it so she has less stuff to move. Then my friend Carrie has had the most unplanned birthing experience...a 10.5 lb baby will change things pretty quick. But the poor girl can't get breast feeding figured out. So, I haven't been really doing anything just kinda hanging out with her a bit. Then yesterday was church and a Tastefully simple party with my neighbors. That was fun. Lots of chit chatting.

So Happy Nuclear medicine week everyone. LOL!! It is actually a big deal for my husband because last year his doctors decided they should put on a conference this year. So they have 6 speakers...one of which is the surgeon general. Unfortunately they didn't get funding until just a few months ago so there wasn't a lot of time to market it...but I think they will end up with a good crowd this year. I think there are already 30 people registered for it. They needed 20 to make it worth it and their goal is 50. I'm excited that it is all coming together. It is free for all of the attendees, so that is really cool. If it all comes together they will be giving 10 CE's which is a lot in a day and a half.

On Thursday my dad is coming. I'm excited. He is working in Florida right now and he was anxious to go home because him and my mom have been apart for 3 weeks but he changed his mind and is coming anyway for 3 days. It will be nice to have him here. I think we'll do the pumpkin patch while he's here. He said we didn't have to entertain him but the kids and Derek have the day off so we should go do something. So, that's what I think we should do.

Well...time for some personals.

Chris - Have fun getting your hair done. I wish I had someone to come to my house and do it. I use a bottle and do it myself. Blech!! I love getting my hair done.

Laurie - That is sad about your kitty!! My mom and dad had a little miniature daschund that had the same issues. they let it go for a lot longer but her issues seemed to come on more gradually so it took them longer to get to that point. When they did take her in the vet told them it sounded like a brain tumor so they were glad to know there was an actual reason and not just an old puppy. I am glad you got painting done. I hate painting and would rather just pay someone to do it. I am amazed at your motivation on getting your house stuff done.

Maureen - I love sleeping in. I hope you guys felt rested after all that sleep.

Frani - I hope there is an easy fix to your computer. But then again...getting a new one is always fun.

Everyone else...Have fabulous days!! Hugs to you all!!

Phyllis...I took forever posting and missed you. For the first time I will let you keep your gray weather. It has been a bit chilly here and it is usually still warm this time of year. very strange weather. If the sun is out I'm wearing shorts and flip flops...but my toes have been freezing off. :(

Good Monday Morning everyone, yup another work week, yuk!! But I do have Tuesday off this week and not a thing planned for it except getting my blood work done and that will be in the early am. as I have to fast for it. So no coffee for me in the morning tomorrow. Full day of work today, but its the only full day this week hooray!! MMG and I got lots of work done in the yard yesterday, He even washed the windows on the outside and the glass on the front patio, what a guy!! I am so lucky that he is such a clean freak!! Still have lots of blossoms on my plants out back so those will have to wait for a while. Sad that we have to start putting away the patio furniture for another year. :rain: today but sure hope its not the start of months of it!

Chris - Do you think I can make it through the morning without my coffee?? Glad you liked the video! It cracks me up every time I see it! Lucky you having your hair girl coming today! It's almost time for me to go again, oh well it beats me trying to do it myself! I used to dye my own hair, but after a while it always went kinda orange on me :eek2:

Laurie - I am so sorry to hear about your sweet kitty!! It's always so hard to lose a treasured pet! to you and your hubby, it has been a bad few months for you both!! Wow you got all that priming done... good for you but hope that you are not too sore from all that painting!

Maureen - Bet you feel so great for sleeping in for a change!! I still hear my daughter's cat every once in a while, her cat was a real character and would ride on her walker in the suite downstairs, she would run and jump up on it and my daughter would get lots of exercise pushing her around. She was devastated when she was gone!

Fran - I will have to check out this tutorial of yours! Hope your computer problems get fixed, or better yet you get to have a new one!!

Phylis - Ugh... listening to salesmen?? Not what I would call a fun day! Hope you get a good deal on the ones you decide on!

Have a great day everyone!!

Clara... we must have been posting at the same time! How nice that you get to see your Dad!! Hope you have a wonderful time at the pumpkin patch!

Oh yea, I thought that it was selfish of me to just let Chris see the video that I sent to her yesterday so here is a link if anyone is interested.

Morning, my fellow wonderful ones!!! :)

I've already got the IV filled with caffeine so I'm on my track this morning. I have maintenance to do today (ie...grocery shopping, quilt store shopping, lugging a kid to class and then work after, perhaps folding clothes - but probably not!! LOL!!), and I have two other quilting projects for the CT I'm on that I have to get started and preferably finished. But these two are my tutorial projects which means that I need to photograph every step and the lighting has to be just right!! I've been scouring all of the cool blogs and sites for good staging pictures to show off products. I can so get lost in doing that! (especially on Pinterest, huh??)

okay, I've got some World War I lecturing to do...we are on week3 of a 4 week unit. Fun, fun!!

love you guys lots!!!
have a WONDERFUL monday!!! It loves you, no matter if you love it or not!! :)

thanks for the link, Frani.

i had to call my husband just to vent about the man Sears sent to my home to try to talk me into buying their windows. i've never seen anything like it. first, he was 15 minutes late. no explanation or apology. he smelled like an ashtray that hadn't been emptied in a month. his sweater was filthy. he couldn't answer ANY of my questions. and he kept calling me "kiddo." i'm stunned. is this how the USA thinks business is conducted these days? this was SO jaw-droppingly BAD! :jaw:

Good afternoon everyone! Checking in a little late today, had to pick up dh from the airport this morning. Its good to have him home again!

Chris and Maureen - We don't have a shop but a home based construction business that we've had going for almost twenty years. We've been winding down slowly this year, and will probably lay off our last employee at the end of this month. It will be nice not to have to worry every time we go away anywhere! We still have machinery to get rid of, probably through auction or online somehow.

Chris - Enjoy having your hair done at home - now that's the way to go!

Frani - Thanks for the link, will be off to check it out in a minute. Hope your computer issues get resolved easily! I spent six months dealing with Dell last year either on our laptop or desktop, so glad everything is finally working smoothly.

Laurie - WTG with the renovations. I love getting to the point of being able to paint things, it finally feels as though you're getting somewhere. That drywall dust gets into everthing!!

Clara - Hope you have a great visit with your dad.

Phylis - Ugh! on the useless salesmen! It makes you wonder where they dig up these guys, when there's so many qualified people looking for work these days!

Phylis, I really think you need to make a Kiddo page! If the fool was married, I'll be he calls her 'my old lady'. I think a call to Sears is in order.

late checking in today.

Guess what I did today? You guessed it--work!! Thought I was going to quit at a reasonable hour and then the phone started ringing. The last call ended about 6:30PM--couldn't really say I needed to get off the phone---it was one of my bosses.

I'm going to be working the ladies Walk to Emmaus this weekend. Starts on Thursday and ends on Sunday afternoon. It is sort of like a religious retreat--just much much much better. I call it 72 hours of heaven. Anyway--I'm one of the worker bees and giving a talk at this one. I'm looking forward to it---no phone, supposed to be no computers (although I'm taking my IPad), just time to focus on your spiritual journey. I've been getting things together--I've made a bunch of stuff for it and figuring out just what in the world I'm going to wear.

Frani--thanks for the link to the tutorial. I bookmarked it for future use.

Kiddo--I mean Phylis--I don't think you will be getting windows from Sears!

Chris--you get your hair done at your house. How cool is that? I went au naturale a few years ago. Never did dye it--just highlights. I worked hard for these gray hairs and I aim to show them off!!

Laurie--so sorry about your kitty. Sounds like you are painting up a storm!! Come to my house when you finish. :)

Maureen--I wish I could sleep in. That's just what I'm going to do when I finally get to retire.

Clara--so glad you are getting to see your Dad. Enjoy your time with him.

Oh-I'm feeling much better. Have the voice back, although it is still a little froggy sounding.

hope you are all having a great evening. Later!
