Gah!!!
:bouncing:

Look at the date. Look at it!!
Don't look away....
If *I* have to freak out that the one-month countdown to Christmas is here, you all have to freak out with me.
(You love me and wouldn't want me to freak out alone, now you'd you? Would YOU?????)

For the newer O-Peeps or the ones who don't follow my family's holiday insanity, Christmas has always been a 2-day holiday, with Christmas Eve being equal to Christmas Day.
Meanwhile, I am in denial that T-day is just a few days away. Gary asked me where the non-expired Covid tests were this morning. My first reaction while waiting for his results was "Crap. I'll have to take Jaida to the vet before I clean for my friend." The second came hot on its heels: "Wait!! Thanksgiving is this week! What is the isolation period for Covid? Who is going to be willing to come to my house if Gary has Covid???"

Narrator voice: Within 15 minutes, the freak-out became moot. The test was negative.

So BACK to freaking out about Christmas :floorlaugh:

I got more things crossed off my to-do list yesterday. But more things keep piling up. Not to mention things I did accomplish came with extra chaos. Plasticing over the window in my office requires me to stand on my desk, which meant everything on said desk had to be moved around, then cleaned. While standing on said desk, I noticed all of the dust on the shelves so they had to be dusted. I blew the fuse using the hair dryer to shrink the plastic and had to climb under said desk. That led me to call out to Gary to help me figure out what to do with the nest of cords and cables and power strips and the battery backup that wouldn't stop beeping.

Needless to say, I didn't have a lot of time to relax.

Plans for today: Clean for my friend and hope and pray I don't hurt my back any more than it already is. I have been using the TENS unit almost every night and it helps a lot, but I still wake up stiff and sore.
Add the last-minute grocery items to the list.
Make my samples for the pinecone gnomes so I can pack the supplies away before I clean here tomorrow.

If-- a big if- I can squeeze a lower back focused yoga video in before work, I would love to do that too,

How about you? Make it the best Monday ever!

Good morning ladies. What a great day yesterday was. A nice slow day. Made our Swedish meatballs and they really were good. Did a lot of nothing...and watched a very bad football game (Florida vs. Tennessee). And we read or played on the computer (me) or our phones (both of us). And it was a treasure.
You made me so happy!! What a fantastic one-on-one day with Syd.♥ I miss having just me and Caitlyn time, but I see her every day, so I can't complain though.
I think that it is... And it is frustrating.
Pfffffft....
Good luck starting to move her things back home.
Awana is a worldwide nonprofit ministry focused on providing Bible-based evangelism and discipleship solutions for ages 2 to 18.
We do the midweek clubs on Wednesday. Its a huge deal and we have so many kids, I want to say around 120 kids but that includes the teens who go to youth group while the 6th grade down the 3 years old do AWANA. Its a fantastic outreach and so much fun.
That sounds very fulfilling! Literally doing God's work ♥

it was DD#1 calling to wish me a belated happy birthday.
How did we miss your b-day??? *hangs head in shame*

let's make it up with a party!!
:birthdaygreet::birthday2::cake1::cake2::gift::birthday2::bdaycake::birthaydog:

I was the director and it was a lot of fun! We probably only had half the number of kids that you have, however.....if that many! I had my first broken bone during the program.....we were playing a game of "Steal the Bacon".

When my number was called, I rushed to the center and grabbed the bacon before anyone else got there, turned around to run back and my feet got all tangled up with one another and I fell to the floor.
Oh no!!! (sounds familiar, something I would do. Oh yeah, I have done. :giggle4:
I vaguely remember playing that game in elementary school gym class. I am going to tuck that away for future games with my HS kids. The "bacon" can be adapted to just about anything. Thx!

It got so warm working in the house yesterday that I ended up kicking the AC on!
Stop!!! It is sooooocold here! :bawling:
Whew! I cannot believe we have only one week left in November! And then the craziness of December begins! OY VEY!
Yippeeeeee!! I have company for my freak out!!! :floorlaugh:

Then this morning, Jen and I headed out to meet up with friends and go visit their new foal (Billy Ray), he is so adorable. He's about 3 wks old now. It'll be fun to visit and see him grow. Him and mom will be at the ranch for 6 mths before coming back home to the other 2 horses, 2 pigs, bunny, 2 dogs and 3 cats. My friend has such a fun household :)
I wish I had friends who had those animals. What a fun time. Good for you for getting the tree up already!
We are shooting for next Tuesday to get ours up.

xoxo

Good morning. I'm home and need to start the day by taking Wavy to pre-school. Normally she doesn't have pre-school on Monday...she goes to a school district that is smaller and they found that the best way to compete for teachers is to offer a 4 day school week. So on traditionally short weeks like Thanksgiving, they go on Monday. I'm anxious to see her. That gets to be a habit. ;) And guess who is drinking coffee today. Yep, you guessed it. Me!!!:coffeedrinker:Going to get my hair colored at 9 so probably won't be back in here until this afternoon for personals!

I need to get my pie crusts made today to begin some of the Thanksgiving prep. And going to make meatloaf for dinner. Going to clean my desk. No way do I get that much done. I'll need a nap for sure. Have a good day all.

Forget about the freaking because Christmas is only a month away! My freaking is from having to get ready for 2 separate Thanksgiving dinners here! Ilene and I are headed to Costco for pies today!

Yes, you can use anything for the "bacon" and that would be a great game to play with your HS groups! You're welcome;)

Yes, I'm right there in freaking mode with you!

Glad Gary doesn't have covid at least! Hope he feels better soon!

Good morning,
Waiting on Ilene in the doctor's office then we're going to breakfast and then to Costco. Then I'll take her home and head back to the house to begin working on the house again for the company this week. And somewhere in there i need to drop the bank deposit.

It's gonna be a week!

Sometime I have to prep my challenge for the Christmas event here, too! YIKES! The panic button has been pushed!

Oh the panic button has been pushed for sure! I was thinking that since I wasn't hosting and I wasn't working, this would be a breeze. Then I made a L-I-S-T and the world turned upside down. Here we go!

I envy all of our October friends who have Thanksgiving in October. Thanksgiving and Christmas need to be spread out more! Now, to get this hair colored.

Adding to the list the need for an updated profile pic. Another thing that won't get done!

Good morning!
:cold: Thinking of Chris as its 12°F this morning. But oh the beauty those temps bring. The rain we had and then it slush snowed and then froze and oh the trees are spectacular covered in "diamonds". They're frosted hard and white and oh its magical.

If *I* have to freak out that the one-month countdown to Christmas is here, you all have to freak out with me.

**Grabs coffee, sits back and watches the show**
Peace is having done all the shopping, just waiting for everything to be delivered. I have jury duty all December so my plans are wishy washy and will happen when they happen. Baking is usually just after lunch so thats no big deal, I'll be back from jury duty by then. Christmas Eve, well, daughter took over part of that, hubs will make the massive dinner and I will not have jury duty that day so it will be wonderful. I just have to clean. Christmas Day is laid back jammies and laughter with opening gifts and laughing at the dogs who "kill" the paper as it comes off. By the end of the morning we have confetti. Only "stress" is when will I be able to get the gingerbread trains baked and when will we decorate. Kids eat them 12-24 so I dont wanna do it too early or they'll be rock hard but I dont wanna wait too late and be stressed. Yep, no stress.

Today is Monday. Means clean the house and do laundry. Guess what? I feel like maybe I can actually do it too!!! Starting to feel like Wonder Woman :floorlaugh: Okay maybe just in my mind. But I finally feel like I can resume life and not totally fall apart. Will still needs breaks but it will be good. I think I can even handle Thursday and all the cooking like normal. **Famous last words**

Well, coffee cups empty and dogs want food. Better fix both those needs!!
Have a wonderful day!

It rained Friday night and into Saturday morning, and I was on edge because we had scheduled a work day to build a bridge on the trails Saturday, and what with the holiday weekend coming up I couldn't figure another day to do it. When I woke up Saturday morning, the forecast was that rain would end by 9:30 so I sent out a note and delayed the start til 10:00. Between 7:00 and 10:00 the forecast kept moving the end of that rain later and later, but it all worked out. Rain ended about 9:45 and didn't start up again until 1:00, and we had a great group of volunteers that knew what they were doing, so we were able to get the bridge done without getting wet. Then we went to a brewery for beer and pizza and watched the rain through the windows.

This morning on our bike ride we stopped for apples at the orchard store and I couldn't decide between Winesap and Pink Lady, but they let me put together a quart with 3 of each so I'm happy with them.

I finished up watching Ken Burns' The American Revolution over the weekend and I am feeling wiser and better informed. They did a great job with it. It's on PBS, and worth the many hours it takes to watch. For some reason I also got into my head that I wanted to watch this old movie, "Same Time, Next Year" which (holy smokes!) came out in 1978. It was so nostalgic to watch it cycle through all those images from the 1960s and 70s. Sheesh am I old!

What app did you get?
I got an app called MediaMonkey. So far I'm pretty happy with it.

I don't know why that hit me so funny but I laughed-snorted out loud! Did he survive?
Haha! The kids brought turkey and cheese sandwiches on white bread, an apple, and some pre-packaged cake thing with chocolate icing and bright bright sprinkles. I think he ate half the sandwich. We put the apple in the fridge and threw away the cake thing. He always has his own lunch, anyway.

Anyhoo, I'm constantly reorganizing my cupboard's to keep them how I want them. I have trouble finding things, otherwise. It's so weird how somebody you raised can be such a polar opposite in their habit's.
When I visit my daughter I take over cooking dinner, and every single time I wonder how a kid I raised can not put things IN THE RIGHT PLACE in the kitchen! (Right place being defined as the place I always put them.)

On Wednesday night we have an AWANA program for the kids. Years and years ago they started making soup to feed the volunteers before the program started. Most people get off work at 5 and then the program starts at 6. Its hard to get kids there and fed.
My grandkids have a Wednesday night family/youth program at church and they feed them there, too. You really almost need to, given the constraints families have these days.

@terri brrrrr you have to wear gloves and hat in the office...I would really hate that. Put an electric heater near your desk. I hope you enjoyed your Thai food...What did you have? I love green curry the best but they have some fabulous foods!
We keep the house at 68° (Jimmy Carter, my role model!) which is fine when you're moving around at all (unless it's really gray and damp). But sitting at the computer my metabolism just decides to shut down. Hand knitting to the rescue (usually).

I'm back home... today was "health" stuff!! Had my bone density test at 8:30AM then over to Smith's Pharmacy and got my yearly flu shot. It was delayed because I had Covid and need time between it for recovery and getting the shot. Just remembered that I want to take a Tylenol. Will get it soon.... As I was driving from here to there, my car gave me a low tire pressure warning... stopped at the nearby tire place... it was due to the cold weather. Glad it wasn't a damaged tire. This happens every fall/winter when the temps first fall.

I did 2 LOs done yesterday and need to scrap a couple more for another bundle I downloaded this morning. Yes, Color Play is this coming weekend.

I am sending 'good cooking vibes to everyone who will be cooking the Thanksgiving feast this week. I think I may bake a pumpkin pie (if I don't have a reaction to the shot). I have everything I need for it. DD#3 has been sick for several days so either her hubby and/or the sons will fix their holiday meal.

I signed up for a Black Friday special - Starz streaming for only $12 for a year!!! WOW!!! All was great until I got on line to find out how to get the app for Starz on my Samsung TV .... Turns out that Samsung TV does not have the app as they only load so many apps and Starz isn't available on it!!! YouTube has several info videos about Samsung (and other Smart TVs with the same issues). I was thinking about Prime Video, AMC, Paramount, and/or a couple of others I might want to get ... and guess what... Samsung doesn't support them. (BTW... that explains why I couldn't get Apple loaded on my TV) The solution was to get Roku stick (it supports all of these plus a lot more). My Sister has a Roku on her non-smart TV and gets lots of them... of course she has to pay for the services she gets. Black Friday sale was on - and I got a Roku Stick for 50% off!!! Now I just have to it hooked up to my Samsung and also see what other 'freebies challenges come with the Roku.

How did we miss your b-day??? *hangs head in shame*

let's make it up with a party!!
:birthdaygreet::birthday2::cake1::cake2::gift::birthday2::bdaycake::birthaydog:
Thanks for the party wishes... I didn't mention when my birthday was in posts here at the Os. When you reach your 8??**!!! .... , it is a choice do you want to say how old  you are or be thankful :girldance:you have another birthday. But thanks for holding a virtual party for me... :dancingbfly: :dancing6::dancingbfly::heartpumpred:

I missed breakfast and the tummy is growling so off to get some food to go along with my 1st cup of coffee... :coffeedrinker:

The solution was to get Roku stick
Yep. The Roku stick will give you all you need, and then some. It's kind of fun to explore the free services out there, too. I have a Roku stick I travel with (so I can watch my services in hotels and timeshares) and a Roku soundbar to help with the sound quality on the flat screen TV at home.

Oh the panic button has been pushed for sure! I was thinking that since I wasn't hosting and I wasn't working, this would be a breeze. Then I made a L-I-S-T and the world turned upside down. Here we go!

WOW! Your hair looks great! And you DID get your profile pic updated!
