Good morning!! Monday isn't too bad, not when we have a 3 day week. I can deal with Monday this week, I think. I had a pretty good weekend. Saturday was Addie's birthday party at my parents' house. She is having a little kid party later but it is at the children's museum and that just gets too crazy for the family and everything so I decided to have a family gathering at my parents' house also. I decided we would just go up for the day rather than stay the night but still had to get stuff together so dh thought that because we weren't staying the night there was no prep so while I was running around the house getting ready, to include the kids, he was sitting on the couch watching tv. I was not impressed. Somewhere along the way I also thought it would a good idea to pick up Cristian (the little boy we watched a couple of times for a month at a time while his mom went away for the military). He is currently staying with his dad for a year while his mom is in Iraq. That was definately not my greatest plan. It all worked out but he is not a very fun kid. Lots of inappropriate "why." I am all about a kid understanding things but when we are getting ready to go and i say to put on your shoes or turn off the ds or some other thing where there really is no other answer except "because I said so" and it is over and over again, I get a bit agitated. I really hope they PCS (the military moves them) when she returns from Iraq. Then I don't have to actively make an effort to keep them apart. I realized some of the things that Ethan started doing that make me crazy came from him. the biggest one is that when I tell him something he doesn't like he goes "uhhh-uhhhh" hard to type out how it sounds but he never did it before their trip to Florida and now I can't break the habit. It makes me crazy and I noticed how bad Cristian did it this weekend. Ugh!!! Then I guess he was disrespectful at church. Lame. I guess we just won't be hanging out with him anymore while his mom is gone. It was not cool. My kid isn't perfect by any means but I hope he doesn't make people as crazy as this kid makes me. It makes me sad to see it because I know a lot of the reasons he is the way that he is and it has a lot to do with his parents but none the less...ugh!!
Even though the kid made me crazy we still had an awesome weekend. Addie had a blast at her party. I wanted to take pics and so didn't want to read all of her cards to her so I would help her find the cards or she would find them herself...she was really good about it...and then we would figure out who it was from, then she would take the card to that person and they would read it to her. It worked out really well. Then she also knew who the present was from and was able to give hugs and kisses to that person. It was just a random thought and there weren't too many people, so it slowed things down just enough, and made it so I could get all the pics I wanted. So, I have to share a funny with you. This was awesome. So, because there were a lot of people there that Addie wanted to see she didn't quiite make it to the bathroom at one point and although I had extra clothes for her since I had planned on her getting dirty, I didn't have extra panties for her. So we just got her dressed without them. She's okay with that, so it was no big deal. Well, she got a ton of dress up stuff for presents and there was on little outfit in particular that we were trying to put on her while we were opening presents. So I pulled off her clothes andtried to keep her kinda covered but then all of sudden she had nothing on and all of sudden she had a moment of total modesty and her little hands went up so that one hand was covering her front and the other was covering her butt. It was the funniest, cutest thing ever. And of course it was the one moment my camera was on the floor since I was the one helping her. It was awesome.
Yesterday was a pretty good day too. We went to church which was nice. I usually go to church on Saturdays, which I love, but since we were out of town I decided to go on Sunday like normal people. LOL!! It was just a great service about being grateful in this economy. Such a hard concept for so many people these days. It was just a good reminder that life is good, even if it is not as easy as usual and that things will get better. It was kinda fun too because when we turned aroound to greet our neighbors around us it turned out I was sitting in front of Ethan's principal. That was kinda cool.
After church I finally got to drop off cristian and then came home and took a nap. Yay!! I love naps. They are the greatest. HUng out with the neighbors for dinner and then got to spend some time scrapping. It was just a good weekend. I hope everyone else had a great weekend too.
Chris - yay about getting to meet the tutor. I'm praying you get wonderful news tomorrow, that you are simply made of raw chicken. Good luck with those wedding LOs. Deadlines suck but you'll rock it I'm sure.
Jaime - Yay for a mini week. Is it even a mini week? That's awesome. Enjoy your days off.
