Happy Memorial Day. I am sending thank you's to all of those who have served and are still serving to protect our country. Our military is our greatest resource. Thank you for making making the sacrifices necessary so that we can live in a country where we can achieve our dreams.

And Happy Monday as well.
Did you say Happy Birthday Cat!!! woooohoooo!!!

I cannot believe it is the last day of May. One month down of calender craziness. One more month to go. Sad that June is even crazier than May!:eek2:
We had a nice time at my Mom's. I was hoping to come back completely de-stressed and I didn't. But I am better than I was before. I'll take whatever I can get!

Does anyone have any fun plans for today? I think its going to be relatively quiet here. Unpacking/laundry/getting ready for back to school tomorrow. Which means more fighting with Scott's school..... It is not looking good for him graduating :(

But I am not going to think of that now- I am going to enjoy my coffee, the sun shining and house being quiet and peaceful.

Personals:

Thanks for all of the happy weekend wishes!

Andrea- I do have Patchouli essential oil. My MIL adores that. I blend it for her with a bit of amber fragrance oil and she loves it. I can ither do that or make it up "straight." Let me check on the safety recommendations on use with pregnancy (its not one of the "danger" ones, but it might need a smaller dilution)

Oh and I just got in two more scents-Raspberry Lemonade and a copy of Philosophy's Falling in Love. I can't wait to play around with them!

Laurie- a hot tub sounds soooo amazingly fabulous..... bet it feels so good to soak after gardening!

Linda- hope that your headache didn't last too long. How is the family-stress? Any better? Hope that your Mom's was fun and not too hot!

Laurie- I was at the Christmas tree shops and they had all of their bulbs on sale half price. I was able to somewhat resist and only bought a bag of gladiolas. I'll put them in now and will hopefully see them next spring :)

Clara- so cool about the VW- and yes, they do last forever. But I have to agree with Linda on the repairs costs. My brother's Jetta (from years ago) cost him and arm and leg just for simple stuff.

ROTF!!! Linda- I wonder if you have annoyed Clara yet?
Hey Sis! DId you list the cars!?
If it works, Linda... Can you bug Gary for me? We still have the motorcycle and the Saturn that need to be sold- like yesterday- so we can get the $$ to fix the septic.

Happy Monday!

Me Me Monday- I don't have anything... how about all of you?

Hey everybody! Just a fly by before I get ready for a big Memorial day pick-nick. Okay, "pick-nick" is what my spell checker suggested, but that word never looks right to me.
We had rain, rain, rain all week last week, but the sun came out yesterday just in time to dry up the ground, and it's shining beautifully today for our outdoor festivities. There, got my way out of writing that word again! We're going out with my Wives of Warriors group and it looks like fun, I just hope it doesn't get TOO hot! Clara, I'll take pictures so you can see what you have to look forward to!

Chris, I'm glad you had fun in PA. Where were you? My in-laws are in Johnstown, I think I already told you. Some of them live in Elizabethtown also. You sounded very relaxed this morning on Facebook, and relaxed is good!
Patchoulli with amber sounds nice! I'm glad you are aware of some things not being okay with pregnancy, I never ever would have thought of any essential oils being a problem, but I guess it makes sense now that I think about it.

Well, I guess I'd better go get in the shower so I can get clean before I get sweaty! LOL!
Hope everybody has a great day and talk to you all later!

I'm glad you are more relaxed today Chris, even if not completely. You wouldn't be you if you weren't worried about your family and the things going on. If only life wasn't happening when you got home. Today I have to finish organizing the kitchen, get the last of the things out of my car, harass Derek to clean out his car, and hopefully schedule something to get our cars detailed for selling. It turns out we know someone who does it so hopefully we can schedule today and I can get my car done today or tomorrow and the trailblazer done tomorrow. Of course this is all provided that the VW gets a good review at the mechanic. I do know about the cost of repairs. I already have $1000 set aside for vehicle repairs and that amounts continues to grow. Here is the actual link and not the linked up link: http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/cto/1766247498.html
They took it inot a mechanic before they tried to sell it. It is very inexpensive compared to any of the other ones being sold out there...hence why we want to take it to a mechanic first. We'll take it someplace in Tacoma and not in the town they live in, just in case we accidentally take it to the place they take it. Plus I know a guy who works on foreign cars that we might run it into also and see what he says. I was just talking to Derek and he was saying that with Westies they have groups and people stop and help you out of you are every broken down. Kinda like motorcyclists. Okay, just left a msg at the place I know somebody at.

So, lots to do today. More kitchen organizing. I'm hoping to have it done today. I've not been packing but putting stuff in boxes and taking things out of the cupboards so that I know what has been sorted and not. Plus I have to wipe stuff out as I go so that I don't have to do it later. Still waiting for Nana Linda to show up and help me. LOL!! I hate that we can hop and line and be in the same place but in real life are thousands of miles away.

Well, I'd better get so here is some quick love:

Chris - I am racking my brain about Scott. I'll ask my mom. Have you talked to the principal to see about putting pressure from them on the teacher? Also does the American's with disablities act help with any of this? It helps with drug addiction, how can it not help with this? Just a thought.

Andrea - have fun at the picnic. I can't wait to see your pics of what it is all about. I still think it is so cool I've already been invited for dinner by the group leader. that is really cool and that she thought of inviting you too was cool too. Can't wait to just get moved and settled.

Linda - So, did you see any house rentals that would work? I did find a place to stay about 6 miles away but it didn't have many stars and it come out to like $89 a night and was on the beach. http://www.springmaidbeach.com/ The rates are cheaper on hotels.com and travelocity. Hmmm... Let me know what you've found.

Laurie - You are just busting your butt this weekend. I am quite jealous of the hottub. I hope that is helping your body out a bit.

Okay, gotta go. I'll chat later.

Good afternoon ladies!!!

It has been a gorgeous day here....I was going to do some house cleaning...well closet cleaning...but Sharon and I decided to do some running together....I just got home a few minutes ago....

We cooked IN at my Mom's yesterday!! When we got in the car to head over, it started POURING down rain...and it poured for a LONG LONG time!!! everyone was soaked when they came in....Sharon was so soaked she had to put some of my Mom's clothes on...we teased her all afternoon!! Cameran had planned a baseball game for us but that did not happen :( it was too soggy out.

Chris...I am happy you had a great weekend and yes, enjoy today and worry about tomorrow..tomorrow!! I hope June does not get TOO crazy!! and yes....tell Gary that I am going to bug the >>@@ out of him to sell the motorcycle and the Saturn!! HAHAHAHA!!! Hollar in there now and ask him ARE THEY LISTED YET!!!:pound:

Andrea....hope you have fun at your PICK NICK!! :)

Oh Chris....let me know what you come up with on those two scents...they sound YUMMY!!! I may need to order something new for myself soon!! Girl has to pamper herself a little bit, huh?

Clara.... I know, I wish I could just HOP over and help you!!! You know I would be there in a second!!! If I could afford it, I would fly out and help anyway!!! But.....money and a couple of "little" obligations prevent me!! The house rentals that I saw were VERY VERY PRICEY!!! I am not thinking you want to spend 3K for a place to stay!! I have emailed a friend for the sites she uses to find places down there..she always finds smokin deals!!! she is out of town for the last 10 days, and will be back either tom or Tues...so she will email me by Wed....or call....I am going to check out the link for the place you found and ask if anyone around here knows about it....around here...everyone goes to Myrtle Beach...so you can get info from anybody!!! It's just that most people stay at the North end of the Beach....because it's so close to EVERYTHING. I did look at the car listing...that is a clean and good looking van!!!

Okay.....I am off to get some laundry...and I found these awesome Sangria drinks at the grocery store I want to try out...my deck is seriously lonely right now with all that sunshine!!

afternoon all - slowing down today- still weeding, but we had storms this morning-

clara- good luck with the packing/sorting- hot tub was a bday gift from dh 7 years ago- mainly so he could have a good soak and not have to remodel an entire bathroom- works for me- it surely does help my achy muscles.

andrea- hope you enjoy your pick nick today

nana linda- good luck with your closet cleaning

I'm going back outside to clean up the messes I made - cooking in tonight- veal parm- then alas- back to work tomorrow- short week and I am planning another trip to kingwood center.

Good afternoon everyone...I am very late getting in here today, not feeling all that great, too much wine last night :partywine: we had the in-laws over and got into the homemade wine, so this morning I have the self induced flu :puke: Oh well no one to blame but myself right? Anyway still have to finish cleaning the house and the sun is finally making an appearance so should get out and enjoy it while I can. Hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the day

I have so enjoyed this 3 day weekend- I hope my making my home/landscape more beautiful has somehow honored those who made this country a place where I have so many freedoms, and I hope we have many more chances to honor them.

dinner is cooking- I took lots of pics before the last rain blew thru- now to get them on the computer

Trudy- don't you just hate self induced flu!

Hey kids!! I'm jumping in really quickly here before I start designing tonight to say HI!!!!

I've been getting things together to open an Etsy store here pretty quickly. I'm trying to meld all of my creative energy! So, I've been trying to be in organizing mode. When I'm there, I tend to be quiet here and on fb and twitter.

But I usually check in and lurk a bit here and there...

hugs to all of you - and Happy Memorial Day! :)
