Daily Ooo's Monday May 18 -- Happy Monday!

The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Yay for Monday! I have a fun and busy week ahead of me, I have today to get myself all organized and ready to roll. Well, maybe not all day today, but I am working from home today so I can grab an hour this morning to get my life somewhat settles for the next few days.

Today is Caitlyn's school class trip. they are going to West Point. She is convinced she os going to be bored. I keep telling her that she might see cute cadets! She isn't getting it....:D

I made lots of coffee for all of the sleepy heads- and chamomile tea for Ona who is getting ready for bed :)

How was everyone's weekend?

Ours was quiet-ish. Saturday we got the planter all set up. It was misty/drizzly all day so I didn't get any other yard work done. Then yesterday we had our friends over- the ones with the 2 kids- 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 . Now that my guys are older, I forget how funny littles ones are! Billy the 2 1/2 yo was trying to spit something out and kept stumbling over his words. His mom tells him to think what he is going to say. He scrunches his face up for a minute. She says "you can talk when you are ready." He thinks another minute, then shrugs, like "I have no idea what I was tlaking about" if we had a video camera on, we would have sent that baby right into to Funniest videos. It was hysterical watching his face!

Both of Kim's kids adore Caitlyn and were dragging her all over the house, upstairs, downstairs and back again a million times. If they didn't see her, they'd call for her. Poor Cait, she got a workout. She also told me she wasn't sure she ever wanted to be a mom. Good lesson for a 10 yo LOL

Sara- LOL I guess it took me forever to post the weekend thread :)
And your school is over already? Wow!! We go to June 23! we do go back right after Labor Day, so that might add to it. I wouldn't want my kids out this early, I don't think- too cold to bring them to the beach, so they'd just be bored!
Do you work PT at all over your break? I know several of my teacher friends have to do that to keep some income in.

thx for the update on your friend's baby. My thoughts are with them. My friends that were up, their boy was over a month early too- and he's the one that was cracking us up yesterday. Absolutely no delays. Slight delays in the beginning, but you'd never know to look at him now that he spent several weeks in NICU.

Sara again- my backyard is also west, that is why I have everything onmy patio. How scary that Ben would stop breathing- thank goodness it only happened a few times!

Clara- oh bummer- you are going shopping w/o me! LOL If you need any websites for printable coupons, I have a bunch bookmarked. Let me know.
Sounds funny to say, but I am so glad that your mom is going for colonoscopy. My mom won't do any of that.

Tali- I like your new avi!! Wish you lived out here by me- I would love to hang with you and the kids while YMG had to work. How is Mom?
Good luck at the drs today. I hope that he can give you good news. :)

Ona- oooh I love PJ days! And I don't know if it is me, but there are no good movies out anymore. Such a bummer that you wasted that time.

ME- I just back up to DVD- but I know a lot of people use Carbonite. good luck with it. That blue screen is very scary!

LindaW- woo hoo!! Congrats on making the CT/Kit calls!!!!
LOL at wanting to tighten a belt on some people... I KWYM!

OK, gotta runand warm up my car- yes-- warm up my car. It is freezing this morning- in the 40's! Only getting up to 60 -hopefully- today.
This weather is so crazy!

Hope you all have fun today!
xoxoxoxo

Good morning my friends! I hope this morning finds everyone healthy and happy :).

Me, I'm getting a tickly, tongue bath from Davy...he just loves to 'kiss' me :). He is wound up this morning, kicking his hind legs up and bouncing around all over. I can't find Sassy this morning yet, she's gotten to where she disappears at night, haven't figured out yet where she's hiding. I know one thing, she's going on a diet, she's getting that middle-age spread.

Sorry I didn't check in this weekend, I was scrapping as much as I could and running all over the place when I wasn't. Next weekend I'll be going out of town for a motorcycle race and a concert. It's weird how it worked out, DH and I had already planned this trip to the motorcycle races in Springfield, IL on Saturday. Well, last Monday I got my Ticketmaster newsletter and found out that my all time favorite band, Third Eye Blind, is going to be in St. Louis Sunday. There's a Rib Festival, street fair type thing, going on and there's bands for like 3 days from around noon-11pm. This will be our 3rd time seeing 3eb live and they put on such an awesome show! There's a lot of smaller name bands that we've not heard of and we love concerts like that, that's how we found several artists we like in the past.
I may end up skipping the race though, DH and DS are riding their bikes up and DD and I are taking the car so we may just shop and go on to St. Louis. Who knows, LOL.

That's enough of my rambling ;). I am getting drowsy, didn't sleep worth a dang last night and ended up getting up at 5:20. Now, my body has decided I need sleep. Too bad though, gotta go to work!

Hope everyone has a great day, I'll check back later! Love you all :).

Morning O's. We are off to a good start today. I got two blocks of 3 hours of sleep last night and I have startbucks coffee on hand thanks to my SIL who suprised us with a whirlwind visit from TN to meet her nephew. Big girls are wathcing playhouse disney and Chase is in a milk coma on my lap, the boy LOVES to eat. I need to start pumping because I am making so much milk. I plan on doing very little today. Its Gunar's first day back to work so I think there will be some movie watching and lots of coloring and puzzels. I did manage to put some pictures in the pages that I had pre-scrapped this weekend.

I have been taking pictures like crazy, but don't have any uploaded yet :). It will get done eventually. OK big girls are calling so I better get my butt of the computer!

Hi ladies, happy Monday!

Aside from my laptop issues, I had a really great weekend. For now, I am back on the desktop computer, but after having using the laptop for so long, I realize how much I like to scrap and watch tv and sit with the rest of the family, instead of "hiding" out in my office.

My parents were visiting, and we had a good time yesterday going to a fabric store, AC Moore, and a garden center. We spent a lot of time in the yard yesterday planting annuals and weeding!

Hope you all have a great week.

Chris - hope that Caitlyn enjoys West Point...what a beautiful area it is there.

Dawn - a rib festival and third eye blind? now that is sounding like a great weekend.

Linda - have fun in the yard and enjoy your time with DH

Jos - Chase is such a cutie!! Ah, pre-scrapped pages - I wondered how you were able to scrap! Hope you get some sleep today.

Love to you all.

good morning! It's gonna be a rough day... I have Will home from school because he was sick just before bed, and I mean really sick... this morning, I tried to wake him up for school and I couldn't... so I let him sleep figuring he needed it...

I have to run to the bank and make a deposit today.. I asked the family I babysit for to pay me 1/2 of what they would owe me while they're gone to Argentina and they apparently aren't going to... which is sad because they're supposed to be my friends, and that's the rules for my babysitting... 1/2 the pay for any time they're not here and it's their fault... I've been letting them slide, but this is like 10 days of pay... *sigh* if I didn't need the money I wouldn't watch her the first week of June, which is the last week I'll have her...

Alrighty... off to take a shower so I can go to the bank...

hi Chris, Dawn, and ME!

Jos - Chase is just gorgeous!

have a great day everyone!

Morning ladies!!! I'm back :) still trying to get back my mojo but I'm back! At least my chatting has gone to funk! So other than my depressing news of the PAST, I have been blessed with some way cute school pictures of my 5 year old! Hello...I never, and I mean NEVER had cute school pictures done! So I was super super tickled!! here is one of them :)

savannah.png

On top of that I've learned a new craft...or at least some of one :) It is called tatting. Here is a picture of something I did in case you don't know what it is...

tatting.jpg

I did the ribbon for a co-worker who survived breast cancer :) and tell me this isn't funny...but that little ribbon brought me back some mojo!! I thought it would be super cute to extract some of my tatting stuff and create little elements for scrapping!! :) Tatting is a super old craft, and while trying to learn it I found a site that lists tons of old old books with tatting patterns...the copyright has ended on the books...I'm talking like the 1800's ! :) the patterns are just tooooo cool! Something to aspire to :)

Well off to work for now..will catch up soon!

Quick post for me this GORGEOUS morning (68 degrees in Houston!!! omgosh...the most beautiful Monday ever!!) as I'm at Starbucks trying to get some admin work done for my life while my kids are at music lessons!! LOL!!

We had such a fun weekend camping. If you are "my friend" on Facebook, you can see my 3 albums of pictures!! If you're not my friend, why not add me??? LOL!!!

then last night we had a leadership meeting at our pastors' house with a couple who are pastors in Spain. It was such a fun night!! They fed us, we played Ladder Ball, then we talked through some issues like marriage and worship, then everyone else went home and Mr Gorgeous and I stayed with our pastors and the guest couple!! We just sat on the back porch drinking wine (from Spain!!) and eating gourmet cheeses visiting, telling all of our stories!! It really made me think while listening to some stories for the 40th time, these are the stories I need to be scrapping! Especially when Mr Gorgeous started to tell how I tricked him into our first date...and he messed the story up on purpose!! LOL!!! (he loves the movie When Harry Met Sally, too, so he did it on purpose!! LOL!!!!!!!) and yes, I did trick him into our first date...it may be a LO soon!! LOL!!!

This week is soo busy, too...our band is playing a benefit concert for Mr Gorgeous's cousin's wife on Saturday, so we have rehearsals and my practicing by myself...I also am going to a seminar given at my mom's church featuring Ruth Haley Barton, the author of this book, Sacred Rhythms. It is a fantastic book!!! So that is thursday night and Friday day...then Friday night we will probably celebrate my MIL's birthday!! Hopefully we will go to the museum of natural science and see the IMAX opening of Night at the Museum!! I hope, i hope, i hope!! we'll see...

okay...i have to get this set list to our electric guitarist...so AuRevoir mis amies!! (wonder if that's right??? LOL!!! one year of french in college leaves something to be desired!!)

love you all!!

and, don't forget, Monday is our fresh start!! yay!!!

Good morning!!

So today started off weird but worked out nicely. Ethan missed his bus this morning, so he helped me do my morning housework and then we headed off to get some coffee and take him to school. It was nice spending a few extra minutes with him not yelling for him to find his shoes and his backpack or whatever else he needed to do this morning. It was just nice. Today at lunch I am meeting my friend for sushi. I like sushi. I'm not all that into the raw fish part of it and won't eat big chunks of fish or anything but I do like al ittle bit of it and some other stuff, so it should be fun. We have 2 new sushi places by my house so we are going to try one of them out. what is really crazy is that Ethan loves sushi. he doesn't like the seaweed wrapper but he likes raw fish just fine. I love that he tries new things and if all I have to do is ask them to use a soy wrapper instead I'm good with that. I love to try new things and I am so thankful that he does too. I made some simple california rolls last night and he was soooo excited about it.

This is going to be a short week, which makes me happy. I took Friday off to go camping a couple of months ago. we were going to leave Thursday night to go...but then my dork of a husband didn't put in what weekend he wanted to work in May so he got stuck with memorial day. lame!! I was upset at first but then my sister and I came up with a plan to go just overnight and not need to take much stuff. Then i will meet up with my brother also. And I will get to spend Friday with dh since neither of us have to work that day. It will work out great. I'm excited about it. A little busy but not too bad.

This weekend was great. DH got a call saturday afternoon from his boss at his non-military job that they had qualified for some bowling thing and they had 4 great baseball tickets. Derek had already planned a camping trip and since we were watching another boy who had never been camping we had a little opposition. So I suggested that Derek make some coupons for future camping trips and it worked out awesome. So they will have to go camping again in the near future. We will be watching him for a month again starting the beginnning of June. I'm not real thrilled about it because his mom doesn't do anything to compensate us. I don't need a big check or anything but dinner or something would be nice. She thought it was unreasonable for a girl to ask for money to watch her house that is 15-20 minutes from the military base where the girl lived. We just have a different idea of what asking someone for a favor is. I don't think favors should be considered truly free when you are the one asking. I can't imagine not doing something for the person doing me a favor. I made a deal with our nanny when we went on a cruise and gave her a full extra week of pay when she had a baby to watch my kids while we were gone. then on top of that I included some movie tickets and some babysitting money so that they could get away for a little bit. To me that seemed like the appropriate thing to do. But that's just me I guess. People just think differently.

Okay, sorry to ramble about that. It just bothers me a bit, obviously. Yesterday was a great day. We celebrated Mother's Day. My mom was prepping for her colonoscopy last week so she couldn't eat, so we went out yesterday instead. We ate Thai which is always good. because there were more of us, we got to try new things. My dh and I always order the same thing because we love it. So it was nice having more people order other things. we found that we still really like what we like and we will continue ordering it because it is the yummiest. then we went home and slept. I had to take a sleeping pill last night to sleep again but it worked out great. I love sleep!!

Chris - I am still trying to send you some sunshine I'm sorry it isn't working. I'm glad you had a relaxing weekend though. I hope Caitlin has a good time at West Point and sees some cute cadets.

Dawn - sounds like you will have a blast next weekend. It amazes me how much personality Davy has. I always thought of bunnies as a little bit personality-less. That is so cool.

LindaW - Have fun doing yard work. Hopefully you'll get to do something nice this week along with all the yard work. Where are you going during your July vacation?? Hopefully someplace fun.

ME - so sorry about your laptop issues. I hope you are back in the living room before you know it. I'm glad you had a productive weekend with your parents.

Joslyn - Yay for coffee. I'm glad that Chase is letting you get a little bit of sleep. I remember when I had Addie I was so tired and my mom came into my room, where Addie was right next to me to wake me up to feed her because i wasn't waking up. It is so nice when they start really sleeping. Once Addie started sleeping though she was an awesome sleeper and still is, as long as we keep her door locked. Definately make sure you pump off that extra. I quit doing that with addie and depleted my milk supply really bad and ended having to supplement a LOT with formula which I hated but had to do. My milk supply was maybe half of what it was with Ethan. I hope yours works out awesome. As it is baby number 3 though I am sure you have a great handle on it.

Sandra - that really stinks that your friends are abusing your friendship by not paying you. I don't understand why people think the world revolves around them. I always paid my nanny if I took days off because it wasn't her fault. I would suggest you come up with a contract that you have people sign if you will be watching their kids for longer than a few days. I hope you have a good day otherwise.

Kristin - So glad to see your face here in the Os again. I hope your world calms down a little and finds some normalcy. The day to day stuff should help. I've never heard of Tatting. It looks cool.

Sally - The life of Sally!! I don't know how you keep up. Always busy and moving. One day of your life and I would be passing out at night at about 8 and yet you stay up until late late!! Crazy. Sounds like you had a nice dinner. those types of nights are the best. Where you just sit back and relax, drinking wine and eating cheese. It is funny that you sat with someone from Spain because we had a guest speaker at church this weekend from Spain. He was in charge of a youth/young adult group called King's Cross Ithink that did lots and lots of mission work. It was very cool.

Well, I hope everyone else has a great day and gets some sunshine. It is getting close to June so we should all get some sunshine I think. We, I am almost off for some sushi. Have a great day.

Hello ladies!

Quick one from me..I am just finally getting a few minutes to sit down for the first time today...(at 320pm!) we have been running all day, errands, etc. Nico is down for his nap and I have dinner made (just needs to be baked) laundry is in, kitchen floor washed......ugh, just another day...it never ends....... im hoping the sun will keep poking out so Nico can go outside for a bit when he wakes up, Its so frustrating to not be able to play outside because of this rotten weather we've been having...forever!!! anyway, i'm on the run ....have some more laundry to get folded and put away and nap clock is ticking!! LOL! hope everyone is having a great day!!! (by the way - heres a funny...the other day when I was freaking about my hard drive sounding like a hair dryer......was nothing more than a lose screw in the fan.....lol!!!)

p.s. congrats Joslyn!!! he is sooo adorable!!!;)

Hello lovely O girls!
I am tapping in early Tuesday morning to report on my Monday...hmm a little confused but never mind! Had a lovely home day with my boy yesterday, had some appointments and running around to do, but also had a lunch date. The child has discovered he likes to dip his hot chips in peanut butter. OK! Also my obstetrician is going away for a week near our due date, and is a little concerned that the bubby is actually a GINORMOUS WHALE and will have to be induced early, so I'm off for a pretty late ultrasound next week (38weeks). We haven't found out (and don't really want to) about the boy/girl thing, but how on earth will we NOT see on the scan next week!!?? OK so if I accidentally see and work it out that maybe won't be that bad.

Clara- sounds like your plans for camping are action packed- have fun!
Kristin- Loving the tatting- you did gorgeous work! I'm a member of our local embroiderer's guild (although I'm terrible at it) but it's nice to keep some of the old 'fanciwork' alive!
Sandra- I hope your day got better and Will is OK.
Jos- thank you for sharing your photos and gorgeous pages- you have given me the reality check I needed!

Enjoy your Monday afternoon all, I'm living in the future!

Evening lovelies :).

I saw an article on MSN that I want to share http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30725967/ it's about Lyme disease, it's a sad story but worth reading. I admit I'm a little in the dark about Lyme disease, or at least used to be...since I've found all of my good friends here at the O I'm learning about it because of Chris and her fam. The lady in the story lived in New Jersey, I never realized before but it seems like there are lots of cases of Lyme in the Northeast :(. It's a very devastating disease, I was so ignorant about it before, we see people at work after tick bites and the drs prescribe an antibiotic and send them on their way. I've never actually seen a patient with Lyme before.

Chris, you are amazing, what you are going through with you and your family, I just didn't realize to what degree this can affect people :(.

xoxoxoxo

Chris-sooo cute about Cait and the kids, especially her not sure about having kids, LOL. How was her trip today?

LIndaW-I hope you didn't work too hard today! You need to take some pics of your yard and show us!

Jos-Chase is a little doll! Thank you for sharing the layouts!

ME-hope your laptop is back up and running soon :(. My DH bought me one last weekend and WOW, it is awesome to be able to sit in the living room with him instead of holed up in my room.

Sandra-that really stinks about the babysitting :(. I hope Will feels better!

Kristin-what an awesome pic of your DD!!! And I love the ribbon you made :).

Sally-sounds like you had a lovely evening at your pastor's! And camping, I can't wait to see some layouts with those pics!

Clara-ugh, sushi, ick, LOL. That is great that E tries new/different things, so many kids won't. My DS likes sushi but me, I don't even want to think about it let alone eat it ;). And yep, Davy is quite a little character, I never realized that bunnies could be so much fun until I got one! He does require a lot of petting and attention but I love that about him, Sassy, my cat is kind of aloof most of the time so I'm tickled to have a cuddler :).

Hi Kelly! hope you had a great day! LOL about your hard drive, hehehehe.

Sarah-I bet you are sooo ready to have your little one! Let us know how your ultrasound goes!

Everyone who stops in, have a great evening!!

Dawn - how can you not like Sushi?? Just kidding. I am very particular about what I will and will not eat. I eat a little bit of raw stuff but only little pieces. I really like the sushi that has actually been cooked, like toasted. It is pretty yummy. None of that today though. It was pretty yummy though. You should totally try some california rolls or something. I made some last night with shrimp, avacado and cream cheese. No raw stuff and no seaweed even. Very yummy.
