GoooOd mOrning! Happy New Week!
How was your weekend, besides too short? I always feel like I could use one more day. At least I am not celaning/working today so thatis good. Babysitting and then taking the doofy-dog to the vet for her shots. That is always fun, poor girl is scared of her shadow. I get a 55 lb Lab trying to either sit on my lap or hide behind my feet, Fun! :peace:

How was your Mother's Day. I tend to be very anti-Hallmark holiday. It puts so much pressure on everyone IMHO. At the same time, I get a little ticked off when MMG does next to nothing. Not even a card. My mom took the kids shopping and got me a coffee scented candle that I had my eye on and a plaque that says "I don't do Mornings." How true!! Then the kids made me an amazing b-fast. Hazelnuts crepes, waffles, eggs, toast, strawberries and cream. They rock!! They did it all themselves. Best part of my day!

Me me Monday- scrap time!!! I took a lot of photos of that cute little boy and a few of Caitlyn and my puppy that need to be scrapped :)

Have a terrific and fun-filled day!

Mother's Day isn't until the 27th here in Sweden. I totally panicked yesterday when everyone was talking about mother's day. Thought I'd forgotten it. And my mom would NEVER forgive that LOL

Short work week this week for DH since Thursday is Ascension Day. Friday is off too because it's a "klämdag". Do you have any word for that in English? A ordinary workday that's between two holidays? Like here - the Friday is between the holiday on Thursday and the ordinary weekend. Anyway - the library is closed so DH will be home Thursday-Sunday.

I feel like I should have some plans for this week, but I have yet to come up with some. Gee, I'm so un-inspired these days. I'll probably stick to knitting, TV and audio books, like every other week LOL

So - what's your dinner plans for today? Thought it could be fun to see what all O'sisters have for dinner on a regular Mondau. I just took some chicken breasts from the freezer. I think I'm just gonna cut it in small pieces, fry them and make a sauce with cream, sambal oelek and mango chutney. Rice. Semi-Asian, kinda :)

morning all - got my walk in- first time since Thursday- but I have been gardening all weekend and had dance- so that was my exercise. Tonight- I will tackle the house- ughh- weekend dirt and clutter. I have seen a few finches at my feeders. I need to go water plants, then shower and head to work. Eva- we don't have that day generally, but do get 3 day weekends if the holiday falls on a Friday or Monday- for some holidays they choose to celebrate it on Monday even if it does not fall- like Memorial day this year we celebrate it on the 28th- okay off to water the newly planted before I shower!

Chris, lucky you to have had that Mother's Day breakfast made for you!! it sounded fantastic! i got a SKYPE call from my son and his fam (and supposedly a delivery of something for me later today,) nothing from The Daughter, who is still denying my existence, and my husband actually bought me some flowers, because, as he said: "i knew you wouldn't be getting any from the usual person.) that would be The Daughter. so, all in all, not a bad day. i made steak for dinner and had a glass of "7 Deadly Zins," which is quite possibly the strongest red wine ever made. i maintained a pleasant buzz through dinner! :partywine :becky:

Laurie, i can never do bird feeders here. the squirrels are insanely resourceful....

Eva. dinner plans. hmmmm. i have some leftover ham in the freezer. think i'll make the All-American Casserole mess, which always includes some variation of meat/cheese/vegetable. i have a recipe that's a lot like macaroni and cheese with diced ham and chopped broccoli in it. my husband likes it, and i can use low-carb macaroni, so i can eat it. add salad and a baguette on the side. nothing inspired. COOKING is what's not inspiring me lately.

woke up at 4:13 a.m. with stomach probs. this is probably going to be a loooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggg day.... it's supposed to rain all day, too, which is great for the tomato plants and basil and green beans, but not so great for the mood of a sleepy crabby lady.

hope you all had a great weekend and are off to a good start this Monday morning.

Bueno Sera as it's nightime here.

We both slept in so our day out to Switzerland turned out to be cut short. We only got to a town we'd gone to before checking out the train to Locarno. One of those mini trains that dh loves but I think are kind of boring. kwim? However the scenery would be worth it. But two hours going and two coming on the train plus time to sightsee Locarno, and it just didn't work today.

Anyhow we had lunch and since the place I'd picked was closed...we ended up in a spot run by LOL Sardinians. Good food of course.

Sorry not to have time for personals on this trip but know I wish you all the best!

Hi everyone and happy afternoon from NJ!

Dinner is leftovers from the weekend!
Thank goodness for leftovers. My BIL/SIL won't even save any food- everything goes right in the garbage after dinner. I'll eat leftovers just to get rid of them, but sometimes- heck, all of the time- they beat having to cook!

always chatty at the O!!
MOther's day was uneventful. I went to church and then came home. Ethan was sick so all of their plans went out the window, plus we were tired from driving up to VA. I got my trailer. :D While we were up there we drove over to see Nana Linda for dinner. Had some pizza, let the kids play and then headed home. Addie was asleep before we reached the highway. But Derek has issues with things being about me and always seems to ruin it by not thinking. When our plans went down the toilet because Ethan was sick...it was like he decided Mother's Day was cancelled. Such a brat. But it was all good in the end and we had brownie sundaes which make me happy.

Today I made lots of phone calls. I don't have to deal with the Dept. of Health, which makes me happy. I have to get an inspection by the Dept. of Agriculture but it is much simpler than DOH because i am not cooking food. I also made a bunch of calls on coffee and will hopefully have a few coffees to try by this weekend and we'll have a coffee tasting this weekend. I have one I am really excited about. It is from my hometown but they have another roaster in GA. It's about 6-7 hours from where I live, which is not too far if I need to do some coffee school or something. There is a place in raleigh but they were really expensive...so we'll just see.

Chris - I know what you mean about just hoping the men do something instead of nothing. You have awesome kiddos!! Crepes and waffles? Wow!! At this point I'm lucky to get cereal. LOL!! Ethan wanted to take me to a movie. Derek told him he didn't think we could afford a movie so Ethan says "We can go to Omni!!" That's the $$ theater. Very sweet. I hope the vet appt went well.

Eva - enjoy your long weekend. The military schedules "training" holidays around actual holidays so that they get 4-day weekends. Either by adding an in between day or a friday to a monday holiday. A lot of our holidays fall on a certain day of the month...like Thanksgiving is the 4th Thursday of November and Labor day is the first Monday of September. But the major holidays if they don't fall around the weekend you just get that day off. I hope you remember what you had planned this week.

Laurie - what kind of gardening have you been doing? Flowers or veggies? I planted my first veggie garden this year. I have a few things sprouting already...so excited.

Phylis - good for you for making your own mother's day. That wine sounds fabulous.

Maureen - I missed that you would be in Italy. I think I saw you were in Milan? I went to Milan a few times...actually the first time I drove on the autostrada was to go to Milan. I was afraid of driving next to all of the trucks. But I was taking some Italian friends to a concert there and they claimed they couldn't drive an automatic. for real?? Anyway, I hope you enjoy Milan. How far is Cinque Terra? If not too far you should check it out...5 towns on the ocean. I never made it there but my husband and brother did and they thought it was amazing. Have fun.

Tonight we had steak sandwiches. Easy dinner for a sports night.

I'll try and hop in again tomorrow!! hugs everyone!!

Clara- I have a few tomatoes, rosemary and basil, as well as just planted strawberries. The rest of my gardening has been flowers and perinnials- dividing- moving from one bed to another. Plus I moved 12 2' square pavers to make an outdoor room under my pine trees- aka the lightening rods that cause me trouble! I have been taking photos, but haven't made a layout yet.
