Oscraps

Daily Ooo's Monday, July 6

DawnCW - I gave you initials to seperate you and Dawn. Hope you like em. lol!! I live in Lacey and my dh works at ft. lewis. Being in the military has really made the world much smaller for me. It is so crazy. One of the ladies I work with grew up in Roy. I love the General Store out there. The food is so yummy and I love the old saloon feel of it. I looked into buying a house out there when we were looking at buying but nothing good came up. We ended up buying new in Hawk's Prairie. I don't know if you remember but we had a conversation about the apartment I used to live in in UP. I lived in one of the apartment complexes at Orchard and 56th I believe. That was probably in 98-99 I lived there. It seems like so long ago. Lol!! That is so crazy that you talked to a lady that bought your designs. I'm going to have a garage sale and sell most of my scrap stuff. eeek!! I haven't used it in several years and it is just taking up way too much space. Time to get rid of stuff. I'm sure half of the stuff we get rid of will be stuff my dh bought at rei garage sales that he didn't need. He's getting better at his purchases though. he did buy a stupid split board (snowboard) that I don't think he'll be getting rid of. He is so lame.

We definately should get together for coffee after the summer. Maybe after one of the garage sales. lol!! It is great to have you here in the daily O's. They are so much fun and I love talking to everyone.

Sally - I am so glad that you will get a chance to go to your sister's. Gig Harbor is such a neat place. I haven't been there in awhile but I used to go all the time when I lived in Tacoma but haven't been in awhile. It is so cute there in town. We used to go to a bar there called the Tides. It was fur...plus they had salt shakers they made out of coronita bottles. Lol!!

Good evening from Ok,
I am very thankful this month, it is crazy cool for July.
It's normally like your in an oven but it is soo nice today.
We watched Inkheart last night it has Brendan Fraiser in it (my brother is watching it right now :))
I'm taking a break on piano this month and next month so hopefully that will mean more time at the O!
We (me my mom and sis) did a hair party and fixed each others hair.
Off to look around!

Dawn: I'm newer at the Daily O's (trying to check in more often) But I'm thinking that Davy is a Pet Rabbit? I hope getting him Snipped will calm things for him and you. I used to have a Chinchilla pet rabbit even had it trained to go in a litter box. That was a loooooong time ago ... I grew up on a farm.

Hi again Dawn! Glad to see you posting :). Yes, Davy is a little terror of a rabbit, , a Dutch. I am soooo in love with the little dork. He goes to the vet Friday morning and I pick him up that afternoon. I'm soooo worried 'bout him cause he's so little...well he's about 4 pounds now. But it's gotta be done! He does use a litter box to pee in but poopies kinda go just wherever ;). What was it like having a Chinchilla? They are sooo soft!

(((hugs)))

Mornin' ladies.

Ella loved Ice Age 3. Super cute movie. She is already asking for it on DVD. ;)

Came home to some bad news last night. :( My mom had to put my cat to sleep yesterday. He was mine from 2002 when I adopted him from the Humane Society, until 2007 when I went into the hospital for 2 months when I was pregnant with the boys and no one was home to care for him. Due to some other issues, he stayed at her house.

He was huge - I think 26 pounds when he died. And he had horrible asthma. Yesterday he had a really bad asthma attack, brought on by the humidity at their house, and he was in severe distress. The vet said there was nothing that could be done, and he was suffering so much. :( I am feeling heavy-hearted today. I put a photo of him and Jacob from 2 weeks ago, up on Facebook.

I will try to be back later for personals.

(((((hugs))))) so sorry about your kitty!

Hey Clara! I need to do this myself, I have sooooo much stuff! It's all mostly new except for some papers that Davy's chewed the corners off of LOL.

Can I just recommend that you always get a pedicure after walking around the zoo for hours and hours?? =) It's amazing!

Dawn V. - We are not from the Pacific NW. We are all from Omaha, by way of St. Louis. My aunt is sort of a free spirit and after she backpacked across Europe, she eloped, and she hitch hiked across the states and they ended up in Washington. She's been there for probably 30 some years now. Divorced, etc. but she loves it. I think she would wear out the whole family if she lived closer. =) She's got too much energy and is really scattered. =)

Clara - Thank you for the fairies! I really need them. I'll send them around to everyone when they get done here. =)

Sally - I might have to try to get the Guernsey book before I leave for Chicago. Course, I have a huge pile of books already I can take, not to mention my laptop, and I am going to a library convention where I'll probably walk away with more free books than will fit in the van home....but still. =) Ben looked at your message and said, "Smiley face, smiley face, smiley face, smiley face...." hahahaha!

I was too tired, I didn't read very well, so I don't know who said what about Skype....but I love it!!

Lindas - Hope you both had a great day!!

I might have to try this make up. I've seen and heard of it before, but I've never tried it. I might have to try it...I hate the icky feeling of make up on my face. =) O.k. I've got a variety of things to do. I should stop procrastinating. Have a good evening all!

Hey everyone! Just poking my head in to say hi. I was working on my Spotlight LO all day, trying to channel Sara aka my3hens is hard work, lemme tell ya! Did that and made some chicken stew and now the day is almost over. Holy toledo, where'd it go? So I think I'll just go catch up with my games in FB ( add me if you want, I am Andrea L. Boyer- just plain Andrea Boyer without the L is an old one I did that I closed down, so don't be confused! LOL) and then we'll be off to bed.

Sorry no time for personals, but I do hope you all are happy, healthy and blessed! MWAH!

Cornelia, 6 months that can be such a fun but also such a challenging age. It is so hard when they can't talk. I have a 2 boys... Conner who will be 2 on July 15th and Evan who is 4 and a half. Busy Busy Busy!!! Is how I describe them... . I hope your sweet Amelie will start sleeping better for you. For me it all seemed easier when they turn a year each baby is so different :) I see you live in Germany that is really wonderful you can read and write English so well!

Clara, Yes now I remember you telling me you lived close to my old apartment off of 56th and Orchard... that is so crazy! I couldn't remember where you lived now... Lacey is not that far... I go to the base every once in a while when my mom visits as my Father was in the Navy for 28 years so my mom likes to shop there and can get me in too :) That is nice you can live off base... I have done both growing up. Yes I hope your DH is getting better at his purchases sometimes the REI Garage Sales can be tricky as the pricing is so low it makes you want to buy things you don't always need ! It would be great to get together after the crazy Summer... I think it would be so much fun! I see you have been skydiving... I also have. I was really into it when I was 19... I jumped at Kapowsin and went 20 times, but I no longer go it was a good time though ;) I read a post you did a while ago it sounds like you had a great time.

ClareT, did you like the movie Inkheart? I like Brendan Fraiser but haven't seen many movies lately.

Dawn, Dutch Rabbits are so cute! I love the pattern on them what color is he? I'm sure the procedure will go well and it will make things easier. I had my Rabbits when I was around 14 it was a long time ago ! I enjoyed having the Chinchilla as it was very friendly, sweet and yes very soft :) I also had Angora Rabbits... they were a lot of work as you had to actually brush them like a dog! .

Sara, Your story about your Sister is very interesting it sounds like the PNW is a good home for her... it has many places for "free spirits" ! I also can not say enough about taking some time out and treating your self to a pedicure! They are so nice and what a treat... never thought of getting one after walking the Zoo ! Yes I LOVE Skype and I can't believe how easy it is... I hope you enjoy your trip to Chicago :)

Andrea, Sarah aka my3hens is one of my favorite Scrappers... she is also such a sweet and kind person too!! I LOVE her gallery and it is such an inspiration to me also.

I'm really happy to join you all in the Daily O's... I'm glad I made the leap ! I really want to participate here in the forums more and get to know you all better. It has been challenging this past year to find a balance as designing takes up much of my free time.

Well I have most of the house cleaned today... Just have a few more areas to finish and then get the kids ready for bed.

What a fun O thread this has been! I'm about to watch "Persuasion", the BBC version. Cora and I are watching... I just finished reading it!! It's such a fab story!! (love love love Jane Austin!!) and while doing that I'm going to get last week's spotlight tracked and those winners their gifties!! yay!! :) Wonder who will win??? I know I'm such a winner, cause I got to learn about and see such beautiful countries, including my own!! :)

Dawn, I live in SW Houston in TX. My sister has lived in Gig Harbor for about 12 years, I think. Her dh and in-laws are from the Seattle area, so when they came back to the states after being missionaries in Austria and Albania, they moved there. I love it there!!! Seems a bit cold yearround for my thin blood, but this will be the perfect time for me to go for a short visit - since we are experiencing 104 degree days here!! :)

Sara...a couple of smileys for Ben!! :) :) :) :) :) enjoy that trip and bring me back some books, doll!!! :)

off to track!!

.

My Davy is gray and white :). I had no idea before he came home with me what a fun personality a bunny could have! It seems like rabbits are getting more popular as pets which is great.

I wish someone would create a rabbit themed digi-kit, LOL, I have seen plenty of cat and dog kits, even lizards haha, but no bunnies other than for Easter/Spring. It would be neat to have some wordart, bunny print papers, paw prints, and stuff like that.

Oh me, better watch it or I'll talk your ear off!

Hey girls, just a quick fly by........most of you would have already gone to bed no doubt so I am hoping you all have a great Tuesday!! It's Tues. afternoon here downunder and I am at work, trying to get some stuff finished to take with me tomorrow. I have to go to the corporate office for meetings and stuff tomorrow (Wed and Thurs) so may not be able to check in for a couple of days. OK, gotta go, lots of hugs to everyone and will catch up when I get home!! cya!! xoxoxo
