Hey there, O-Fam! How was your weekend? Are you all ready for the new week, rested and recharged?
I *think* am LOL
I had a very busy weekend, one of those where I felt I did a lot and nothing much at all at the same time. Overall, if I listed everything, I would have accomplished quite a bit. Yesterday was a good day too. My Christmas gift to my ILs was to make them dinner here. I made up a little basket with some pasta and sauces but it turns out I won't be making pasta. We are having a Murder Mystery Party! We used to do these a lot in the 90s, always a lot of fun. I asked the kids if they thought they would be up for it, they said yes, and the 4 couples are going to solve a mystery in Paris next week.
I semi-randomly chose the characters- two characters are automatically not the killer in this kit so I took one of them. Simone de Boudoir is having an extramarital affair with Michel Egalite so I gave that one to Gary. It would be too weird to have to pretend to have an affair with Scott, Tom, or my FIL
#giggle
I started working on the menu and, decoration ideas. I love planning small parties.
I also scanned about 20 photos so far. I was silly looking back in the 70s. Although, who wasn't? At least little kids *G*
I took Kay's advice and have a special folder for them and added as much info as I had to them. As someone slightly OCD/perfectionist (go ahead, you can laugh at the "slightly), It kills me inside to not know the exact years but I am using circa 1971. for ex. and will have to get over it.
Caitlyn and Tom made vegan tacos and fry bread for dinner. So yummy. After dinner the 5 of us played Ravine and what a mess that was!! The first two times we played we much have been lucky. This time, after 3 or 4 rounds, Gary, Scott, and Tom were all dead. Caitlyn and I each only had one heart left. That meant we couldn't forage for supplies and each "morning" we had to take a Madness Card to stay alive. One time, Caitlyn was "blinded" and had to play with her eyes closed. One of my Madness cards was that I couldn't speak and couldn't recover. I have to use gestures or I scribbled on a piece of paper for the rest of the game. ROTFLMAO
I highly recommend this game if your and your family/friends are a little bonkers. (Yes, @Cherylndesigns - I am looking at you )
Can you all tell how much better I am now that I am sleeping again?
I hope you can -- I sure can.
Today is going to be spent on tidying the house and working on my grocery list. Maybe scrapping/scanning/crocheting/puzzling- I'll see what mood hits.
Have a fantastic day!
