Hey there, O-Fam! How was your weekend? Are you all ready for the new week, rested and recharged?
I *think* am LOL

I had a very busy weekend, one of those where I felt I did a lot and nothing much at all at the same time. Overall, if I listed everything, I would have accomplished quite a bit. Yesterday was a good day too. My Christmas gift to my ILs was to make them dinner here. I made up a little basket with some pasta and sauces but it turns out I won't be making pasta. We are having a Murder Mystery Party! We used to do these a lot in the 90s, always a lot of fun. I asked the kids if they thought they would be up for it, they said yes, and the 4 couples are going to solve a mystery in Paris next week.
I semi-randomly chose the characters- two characters are automatically not the killer in this kit so I took one of them. Simone de Boudoir is having an extramarital affair with Michel Egalite so I gave that one to Gary. It would be too weird to have to pretend to have an affair with Scott, Tom, or my FIL
#giggle
I started working on the menu and, decoration ideas. I love planning small parties.
I also scanned about 20 photos so far. I was silly looking back in the 70s. Although, who wasn't? At least little kids *G*
I took Kay's advice and have a special folder for them and added as much info as I had to them. As someone slightly OCD/perfectionist (go ahead, you can laugh at the "slightly), It kills me inside to not know the exact years but I am using circa 1971. for ex. and will have to get over it.

Caitlyn and Tom made vegan tacos and fry bread for dinner. So yummy. After dinner the 5 of us played Ravine and what a mess that was!! The first two times we played we much have been lucky. This time, after 3 or 4 rounds, Gary, Scott, and Tom were all dead. Caitlyn and I each only had one heart left. That meant we couldn't forage for supplies and each "morning" we had to take a Madness Card to stay alive. One time, Caitlyn was "blinded" and had to play with her eyes closed. One of my Madness cards was that I couldn't speak and couldn't recover. I have to use gestures or I scribbled on a piece of paper for the rest of the game. ROTFLMAO
I highly recommend this game if your and your family/friends are a little bonkers. (Yes, @Cherylndesigns - I am looking at you :D)

Can you all tell how much better I am now that I am sleeping again?
I hope you can -- I sure can.

Today is going to be spent on tidying the house and working on my grocery list. Maybe scrapping/scanning/crocheting/puzzling- I'll see what mood hits.

Have a fantastic day!

@LSlycord I wish that the Red Ball Jet ad would make you smile.
Sheesh, Jaida had practically squished me off the bed last night and hogged all of the covers. Instead of waking her up and making her move, I tried to push that brick of a dog over a little and then grabbed the extra blanket to cover me. I keep the blanket folded on the headboard for that exact situation- hahahaha

@BrightEyes I was in awe of how well you restored the baby pics of you. My "good" scanner has a professional mode and you can edit them individually before they scan. Took me a while to get the settings right and they still will need a bit of PS work, but they are pretty good. I'll never be able to get as many done in a day as you, that is for sure!
Stay warm!!
Thanks for adding the journaling. BTW, the link to your gallery in your sig is broken - 404 Not Found

@bcgal00 I hope you are feeling the love that we are all sending to you. Did you make it out with the dogs? That must have cheered you a little bit.
What a day for the computer problems, the last thing that you needed to deal with. Is everything working and copied now?

@vickyday Asher's face must be too cute and funny when he gets caught! W has a super expressive face and makes us laugh when she knows that she did something wrong.
Caitlyn *loved* Abby when she was little and watched NCIS. She told me the other day one of the peer advisors said she was like Wednesday Adams if she had a bubbly personality LOL

@Cherylndesigns You deserve a day to goof off. Lunch and shopping with the girls sounds yummy and fun. Your Dollar General must be much bigger/better stocked than the one by me. I love their skincare brand, Believe. It's cruelty-free and inexpensive. And never in stock pfft. Yoga pants for $5?? Good find!!!
I didn't know about Marley, she sounds sweet!

Good morning. I have caught Syd’s cold although not nearly as bad. First cold I have had in the whole time that we have lived in Florida. So Brian said he would take Syd back to school so I could get some extra rest. She is feeling well so I am glad that she came home for the weekend to get some rest.

The bad news is that her new iPhone quit working. It won’t power on this morning. So sending Syd back with Brian’s phone and Brian and I will share a phone until we can get hers fixed.

Morning, all... slept in a bit. I am with Chris... always glad when I have a good night's sleep. The cold front is heading our way... with high wind warnings - from 50-60 mph winds. I took the swing seat off the stand and tucked it and the 2 small side tables up against the storage bin in a sheltered corner of patio last evening. The swing has been blown over and scooted across the patio before so best to take it down. The rain and snow is expected later on this afternoon.

I got about half of Mom's second album scanned in yesterday afternoon. I did all the pages that were torn loose. It is a 15" X 11" size so I am not able to fit the pages still in the album onto the scanner. Fortunately it is kept together and tied with a long narrow cording through the hinge side. Of course the cord was tied into knots... several of them! It took a pair of pointed needle-nose pliers and a magnifying glass plus quite awhile to tease all the knots loose. It takes 4 times of rotating 1 side of the page to get all the photos scanned and most pages have photos on both sides. And to make it more challenging - the photos on some pages are of different sizes, all are glued down and not lined up evenly on the page! I hope to finish scanning the rest of the album pages today. And as you can see the quality of them varies greatly.

My scanner doesn't have the professional mode like yours does. Glad you were able to get the setting right before you scanned them. Less work in PS for you to do. Since the problems with mom's photos vary so much, I would have to adjust the settings alot. This is not a race to see how many photos can be scanned... so take your time and do how many you can when you can. I was glad to add the journaling to the gallery description... should probably do that for the pages. And thanks for letting me know about My Gallery link being broken. I had set that up long before the switch-over to the new server. I got it fixed now.

@LSlycord So sorry you caught Syd's cold. Glad that Gary will drive Syd back to college so you can stay in and rest! Bummer about her cell phone problem. Swapping phones until hers get fixed is the best solution.

Asher drops his ears and tucks his tail between his legs when he is in trouble! He knows certain words and the tone of your voice. If you are eating, he has to stay in his bed. If he whines during that process of watching and waiting for crumbs he has to go back to his kennel. So, sometimes, he lets a little whimper slip. When you say to him, "if you are going to whine you are going to go to your kennel!" he will usually drop his ears and tuck his tail and go on back to his kennel because he knows he is not going to be able to NOT while, LOL!

Good Morning Girls,
47° and sunny this morning at 11 a.m. I'm headed out in a few to get my engagement ring cleaned. Jared Jewellers does it every 6 months and checks for problems. They ought to as much as you pay for one of their rings, LOL!

DH wanted to go to lunch, too, but I told him I would take a raincheck since my ring appt. is at 12. That means I have to leave in just a few! But I've got to wait on the dryer to quit so I can hang my clothes first.

No real plans other than that for today. I did finally get my February Quote to Word Art challenge started today! Nothing like waiting until the last minute! I almost forgot about it!

Hope everyone has a great day for a Monday and a great week!

Good morning ladies. Spent a few hours yesterday trying to figure out why PS wouldn't let me drag and drop digi files onto a page. I gave up on acdsee and then tried PS bridge but that wouldn't work either. So finally after multiple tries of different things I found an instruction to change a setting in PS and now everything is working. So I was able to get a LO done. Last night as I was closing up my laptop in the LR, the hinge and screen frame snapped and broke. We were able to get it pushed back into place but I have to leave the screen permanent opened, if I try to move it, it falls apart. I really don't want to replace the laptop at this point, especially b/c I only use it a bit here and there throughout the day to get online. I don't scrap on it or anything important.

Mid day we are taking the dogs up to the ski resort for a few hours. It is about 8° colder than here and they have more snow accumulation. I'm hoping to finish up my book later today, I'm almost done and really want to see how it ends (The Family Remains).

We watched the first 2 episodes of HBO's The Last Of Us last night (zombie apocalypse) and enjoyed it so will PVR the rest of the series as it airs over the next few months.

@faerywings The party sounds like it will be a blast. Have fun getting it organized.

Time to go feed the birds, Remi is whining at my side, telling me. HAGD everyone.

Good Morning everyone! I was MIA all weekend long, but not a surprise to any of you I am sure! DH and I were very busy doing our errands, grocery shopping and getting a few things done around the house. DH actually gave in and took his laptop to be fixed, it needs a new battery. so he will be without it for about a week. I think he will be going stir crazy without LOL. I showed him how to use my new iPadPro so at least he can look at his hockey stats with that. That man lives and breathes hockey during the winter. He is one happy fan as his Boston Bruins are doing super great this year!! So I sat down to get on the computer this morning and as soon as I did, I got a face time call from Hunter. He is home from school today, with another sore throat and cough. Poor little man has had his share of being sick this winter!! Had a nice long chat with him and even read him a story book, he was happy to share some down time with me. I just love that . Heather was happy that Jonah got a lot accomplished this weekend. He put up a closet organizer for the boys and did some updates to the bathroom, so that they have some more storage space. What they really need to do is find a bigger house to live in, but for now until they can afford to move they will just figure out how to make things work where they are. Heather said that they all want to come home this summer, so I will have to figure out if I have enough points to get a couple of them out here for free. She thinks that the boys are big enough now to travel with just her and then their Dad will come a bit later to spend some time here and then take everyone back home. I started my painting on Friday and its coming along nicely! I will try to work a bit more on that today, but I really would like to do some scrapping too! I will see how my day goes.

@faerywings - How fun to have a murder mystery party!!!! I just love those! We used to go to quite a few of them, back in the day! Sounds like it should be a real fun time! Sounds like you have had a busy few days, with all the scanning of photos and labeling them. Way more organized than I am with my photos! I am still working on getting all my photos off my phone and into the EHD, that is going to be a big job! You do seem to be a much happier person, now that you are getting your sleep! Send some of that sleep vibe to me please! I am tired of tossing and turning half the night! I go to see the doctor for my physical check up in February and I will see what she recommends to help me sleep. I have no problem falling asleep, its staying asleep that I struggle with. Also going to get her to recommend an ear, eyes, nose dr. to me, to see if perhaps I can get some custom fitted swimming earplugs made. I really, really want to get back into swimming laps again.

@LSlycord - I am sorry that you now have Syd's cold! Good that your DH can take her back to school and glad that she is feeling better! It must have been what she really needed, to be home with you so you could take good care of her! Hope that her phone is an easy fix!! Take care of you today and get plenty of rest!

@BrightEyes - My goodness you are such a busy lady with all this scanning and organizing! I just love that coffee smiley LOL.

@vickyday - Nice that you can get your ring cleaned like that! I really should take my rings in to have them checked out again, one of these days! You are right they should provide that service, for how much you have to spend on rings LOL.

@bcgal00 - I was thinking of you and your family all weekend! Hard to believe that it has been a year already!! (((hugs)))!! Glad to hear that you got PS working again and that you are back to scrapping! Nice to go to the ski resort, hope you get some great shots and that the dogs have fun in the snow!

Ok I need to get a pot of soup going for DH's lunch and then get on with my day. Have a good one everyone! #kiss

Quick pop in and out... Ended up spending 2 hours talking to sister on the phone. I was missing my dad's family genealogy list - back to his great-grandfather and down to our kids... 7 generations!!! She had it and attached and emailed it to me. I opened it up and we talked about changes/additions that needed to be made... and watched as she changed and added things. What a hoot!!! She needed to find some birthyears and some death dates and will add those.

So I didn't get any scanning done... LOL.... The winds are picking up so need to get off the internet as we may loose service. Hope the electricity stays on so I can do some scanning this afternoon.

Good afternoon all.

In here early (for me) - I just finished up two lo's for Viva Artistry - I did one of them completely over. Looked at it this morning and did not like it. The magic of digi, huh???

Chris @faerywings how fun to be planning a murder mystery party and your game night sounds like fun. Our Dollar General is wonderful here. It's right around the corner from us and they have everything. Even fresh produce! Their prices are actually lower than the local grocery story - not Walmart, but our only other big grocery. Lots of their foodstuffs are much less.

Kay @BrightEyes you are the organizational queen! SO impressive. I was cleaning yesterday and found two big bags of pictures that I must have sorted a long time ago. I forgot all about them and can't wait to see what I put in them. Hopefully, some that I can use.

I'll try to get back in for more later, but I need to get busy and get out of my night pajamas into my day pajamas. LOL
