I cannot believe it is Monday again- already. No fair! I am feeling like a complete Scrooge- but my Soul Sista Clara gave me some amazing advice about teenagers and reminded that I don't look good in red. :)
I know that Sally is going to be popping in here or on FB shouting from the rooftops that it is Monday and a new start.
So I am going to work dang hard on starting fresh. 2 weeks until Christmas and I *will* be in the Christmas spirit by then.

Today I have to go to walmart *shudders* but I am going first thing- should be there around 8:30 am, so most of the people in the world should still be home, asleep.
After today most of my shopping should be done..... with the exception of Scott and Caitlyn's "big" gifts, since thats got all screwed up- but we are trying to work it out. Long story short, Gary's parents were supposed to get a guitar for Scott- we were getting the case, the guitar (it was used) got sold to someone else, so now that's all wacked. My il's have to spend the exact same $$ on the kids, so they are giving Caitlyn their Canon DSLR/bag/lenses to match the guitar and we were going to do the workshop/accessories. but if they don't get Scott the guitar I don't know if they are doing the camera.

It will all workout! Right??!!

Baskets are almost all done- well about 75%-- And I got three batches of cookies inthe freezer.
Meg- the kids snagged some of the Can't leave alones-- they were like YUM!!! Is the chocolate layer supposed to stay soft? It was soft and gooey but in a good way, but I wasn't sure if that is the way it was supposed to be.
Doesn';t matter now- that;s how they are, but for next time it will be good to know.

Me Me Monday- I have a busy week ahead, so I am going to try to squeeze in a nap!
 
morning - the several inches of snow has made for a messy commute- well at least all the schools are delayed 2 hours- so I should not have to deal with buses on my way to work. I was pleased with what I accomplished over the weekend. Now back to work today. FIL seems to be doing better with proper meds and monitoring at the hospital.

Nana- how are you feeling today? That is really cute aboiut the Nutcracker. My B/SIl took my guys to see it years ago and they said the same thing. They are used to the Mickey Mouse version hahaahha!

Good Morning ladies!!

Hope everyone is WARM!!! Geeez...here we go again.....THE HIGH FOR TOMORROW 20 degrees!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAACCKKK!!! and windy at that so the windchill is going be about 8 degrees!!!

So and update....if you have not heard....on the girl that went missing over a week ago....She and the man were found in San Francisco on Friday....YES...they made it all the way across the country. Investigators from here went out there this weekend and they are suppose to be bringing the girl home today or tomorrow. They have not given ANY details to the situation yet...only that they are now considering the man as the prime suspect in the murder of the girls mother. The thoughts last week had turned to the idea that something was going on between the girl and the man and it all went sour...but the news have not given any details. One of the Drs that Sharon works for said that his daughter is friends with the girl....and she had inappropriate photos of the two of them together on her FB and actually had changed her last name on there to HIS last name....and evidently the Mom's friends and family were warning the Mom about the two of them acting inappropriately...too touchy feely with each other. The whole thing is just too sad!!

OOOOOOOOOH I AM NOT STARTING MONDAY OFF TOO WELL, HUH??

Okay...............I am going to try to get myself in the MONDAY SPIRIT TOO CHRIS!!!

Meds are working and the crud is starting to leave....but the meds have me feeling bad...makes me sick to my stomach....I haven't eaten hardly anything. But I know that in a day or two I should be much better now!!

YAY!!!!

Okay...I gotta go jump in the shower....It's way late...

Good morning my O friends, happy Monday. Lots to do this week - need to get over to Michael's this afternoon to buy some frames for some photo gifts and start holiday baking. C.'s school is closed for 2 weeks for winter break - lucky kiddo - so I need to get crackin on those goodies for his teachers.

Nana - glad you are feeling better, but I hear your pain on the meds and your tummy. Been there! My DH and I were talking about that story with the Amber alert this weekend - some real craziness there.

Laurie- drive safely. We have a winter weather alert here this morning until 9 am, but not a flake on the ground here yet.

Chris - hope all of the Christmas shopping for the kids works out.

Morning sweet O Ladies!! Up early this morning as my cat was running around the house like a madman!! Weather must be going to do some crazy changing or something??? Right now it is actually not raining and its very mild +12 or approx. 52 degrees F for you U.S. people, our snow is long gone and replaced by a lot of water, but that's ok by me!
Only managed to get one layout done this weekend for the Color challenge. We were busy shopping for stocking stuffers and went to hubby's Christmas party. Very nice place on the ocean in a little cove right on the water, boats were all decorated for Christmas and one of the Tug Boats even put on a fireworks display. (so pretty) Food was fantastic and we had a wonderful evening!! Will definately have to go back in the summer! It's funny because its not that far from us approx. 1/2 an hours drive, but hardly any of us have ever heard of it and it has been there for years.

Nana Linda - glad you are on the mend, but your meds must be strong to bother your poor tummy so much! Sad about the girl, there are soo many awful things that happen in the world, just remember that there are always way more good things that happen, we just don't hear about them on the news.

Chris - Thanks so much for the recipes they sound so yummy and I can't wait to try them in my new Paderno Stock Pot!! Yay!!! My poor jaw is still so stiff and sore, but I go to get my splints on the 20th so hopefully it will help out quickly! Hope your Walmart shopping goes well and you don't have to spend too much time there. (Watch out for those Walmart people) LOL

Laurie - be careful on that slushy snow, it makes for a dangerous commute!! Glad to hear that your FIL is doing a bit better, always scary when they are in the hospital! Have a good Monday :hug:

Me - Good luck shopping at Michael's , its one of my favorite stores, I could spend hours in there!! Sounds like you got some good baking to do Yummmm!! Hope the snow gods stay away from your area!!

Chris -- it's supposed to solidify, but for some reason this year it hasn't solidified for me either. Maybe try reducing the butter to 1/3 cup instead of 1/4.

Good morning ladies!! I was supposed to go into the SSA today to finish getting my married name put on everything, but someone made me sleep in another 2-1/2 hours. I finally just forced him out of bed.
Ugh, so remember those clients that were taking their time? They just started communicating with me again and blamed me. Uhm, sorry I can't make changes unless you tell me what the changes are!!!!!!
Oh well.

Might go out to lunch with one of Jeff's cousins today. She and I get along great, but there's a few things that we don't, and it irks me. She's really been pushing for us to move out to Texas and live with them, bc she says Dallas is always hiring cops. So since I've been looking for jobs for Jeff in places he wants to go, she's been really pushing Dallas. I can't handle living in Texas, too much crazy weather.

Ugh until then, I'm going to try and drag my sore body around the house. Too many emails to respond to.

Nana- got your card today- too cute- glad you are feeling better- it is 11 here now and we will have sub zero wind chills in the am- I know why kids hate winter- then bundling! I have a great leather coat- but man- I feel like the Michelin man in it!

Hey girlies!!!

I wrote out a big post this am and lost it...i was writing a capital W and hit Ctl-Q instead...*sigh*

Anyway, the post was all about our crazy weekend this weekend! Mr Gorgeous got home from Vienna at 2pm on Friday and we barely had enough time to get everything together for our 4 hour Christmas gig that night!! Then Sat morning we were up early to get to a home tour that our band played at for 2 hours. The tour benefited Child Advocacy, so it was awesome...in a gorgeous house...and we sold CDs...pure awesomeness!! Then Cora had her two performances of the Nutcracker, the Musical. I stayed with her in between performances and hung out with her and the cast both then and after their second performance. We didn't get home from the Cheesecake Factory (yum!!!) until after midnight!!

Then Sunday we had a guest speaker and a fantastic church service...then home (nap for me!! thank GOD!!) and then our band did two Christmas sets at a coffeehouse. Sooooo fun!! This morning Mr GOrgeous let ME sleep in!! I was gonna let him sleep in!! :) What a guy!!!

So today the girls and I went to see Tangled!! THE BEST!! I cried and laughed and cried again...I adore true Disney princess movies!! The music was soooo good, too...and the 3D-ness was very cool! We haven't been to a movie in a while. We've been netflixing (yes, that's a verb!!) a lot lately. And we've been conserving funds since we didn't really know what was gonna happen with Mr Gorgeous' job. But he found out when he was in Vienna last week that his contract will be extended through June...*WHEW*!! So yep, we're having a little bit of a Christmas this year!! teeheee!!!

One last thing...just a word of encouragement: I know this season seems to magnify everything...good and bad. But I encourage you to have hope!! Take some time just to breathe...breathe with passion...breathing is sooooo super good for you!! (actually, it's a must! teeheee!!) And know that I'm breathing with you.

Hey ladies!!

I need to be kinda quick. So, we have some guests here. I think I mentioned that. Actually, I know I did. These are my friends from Washington. Remember the boy I watched for weeks and weeks last year before his mom deployed and she went to the field and stuff? Well, she got stationed here and she plans for things to work out exactly as she plans it with no other options, including with finances and of course nothing is working out that way so her and her "nanny" are staying here and I am watching Cristian while they are getting everything settled with moving in and stuff. It really isn't a big deal. i offered. They have the sweetest little boxer puppy...but it is a puppy and it has peed all over my house. That is not thrilling me. School with Ethan and Cristian today actually went really well. Cristian was a better student than Ethan. He didn't argue about anything and just did what he was supposed to. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.

Tonight we had Ethan's Christmas party for Boy Scouts and wouldn't you know...it started an hour earlier. That sucked. So we got all ready and when we got there they were loading everything up. So sad. They got us some food at least but it stunk that he missed the whole party. Poor kiddo.

So that is my day. So, I think I can do a quick personal run...

Chris - that is rough about the guitar but I know there is an answer out there you guys just haven't stumbled across it yet. I would start calling pawn shops, music shops for returns, craigslist or anywhere else that might sell the type of guitar he would be looking for. What type of guitar would he be looking for? Anyway, I know there is an answer. Or maybe you suggest to them that they give him cash to buy a guitar when he finds the right deal. Anyway, I know the answer is out there it just has to be found.

Laurie - I am not looking forward to being in your neck of the woods for Christmas with that white stuff. Ugh!! I hope you are able to stay safe in the nasty traffic.

NanaLinda - Make sure you eat something before you take those horrible pills. They are nasty on your belly but I am happy they will be kicking the yuck butt!! I'm glad they found that girl but so sad the circumstances seem so disturbing. I hope it gets resolved and everyone gets help and healing where it is needed.

ME - your time is definitely running out. I hope you get everything done and that Michaels was fun.

Trudy - Sounds like a nice weekend at the Cmas party. I hope you get a chance to get back there. Everything with your jaw sounds so horribly miserable. It makes me sad. I hope you get to enjoy all these holiday parties anyway. Hugs to you.

Vicki - come and whine more often. Dr's appts suck. I have to redo my last set of appts because they were so horrible. The doctor was a jerk and did everything wrong. Ugh!! Good luck.

Meg - Texas would put you in a time zone closer to me. That could be fun. lol!!

Sally - Tangled was awesome. We loved it when we had our girls day. And I am so happy for YMG!!! I knew it would come together. But it so much nicer to actually know than just having faith. Big hugs and a little bit (or a lot bit) of jumping up and down with excitement for you!!


OHHHH!! ALMOST FORGOT!! I got a call around 10:45. Andrea had little Walter at 10:15. He was 7lbs and 4 oz. 20 inches long. They have pics up on FB. Her husband was out on the phone and she was hanging out in recovery with baby so everyone was doing well. Derek will go check on them tomorrow and hopefully get a couple of pics that I can upload for you guys. he's a cutie pie. C-section so no conehead. It was a planned csection so that was a good thing. So, Yay!! Happy Birthday to Walter!!!
