Well, that's that. "spring" break is over. It went too fast and was way too cold.we had one day over 70*, one over 60*. The rest were in the 40-50*s. 5 days of rain, including over 3" on Saturday (and lots of it in my basement).
I guess I can look on the bright side (no singing Suzy!!) and say if April Showers bring May flowers, I am going to be in full bloom in 2 weeks LOL

Kids go back to school today and I am going to be here trying to make heads or tails out of my house. Kids are bringing in the candy bars and cookies they made for the fundraiser for the girl who was hurt in the car accident. Oh-- she is out of the hospital! Just amazing!!! I have been seeing her on Facebook- so happy that she has that to keep her in touch with her friends.

Hope that everyone has a wonderful day!!!

oh yuck! I just peeked at my 7 day forecast- Rain is predicted for 5 of the seven days. Oh man, my basement might as well be converted into an indoor pool!!!

personals from the weekend:

OMG Clara- I am so so soooo glad that you and Andrea are ok. I saw some footage onthe news yesterday of the multi-vortex tornadoes that were going through. I never even knew there was such a thing as multi-vortex. Can I just interrupt myself to say that Storm Chaser are :loco:???? WTH are these people thinking??
Awesome that Derek came with you and the church. i bet that made you very happy inside, to see him participate. I hope that the people can 'fix' up everything as quickly as possible. I am proud of you for helping!

Suzy- do you have a link to Laurie page?? Would love to see it!

Laurie- that is awesome!!! Congrats!!!

Sally- I'll take that handsome kid for $100 please, can you ship him to NJ? On second thought, I'll come to TX to pick him up. But as long as I am in TX I think I am going to stay! Please send some nice weather to NJ!!!!
Great job on the garage sale! What will the youth group get to use it for?
Did you see the Bones a couple of weeks ago when they went to the body farm? I was ROTF!!

Trudy- Fingers crossed for your eval! Hope you get a really REALLY big raise! You have been putting in a ton of hours, and while that is good for the pocketbook, it is going to take a toll on you. Hugs sweetie!

yes, I know- I miss nana too!!!!! I have been seeing some really cute pics of her babies on FB so I hope that its just that she is so busy enjoying them!

hahahah!!! leach/leech.... Spell Check doesn't correct me when I use the wrong spelling LOL
Yes,, leach field, and in leaching the icky water from the septic. Although, if using leeches to get rid of Lyme worked, i think i would try it and leeches freak me out big time!! Remember Stand By Me?? eeeeeeewwwwww!!!!

Laurie- indoor BBQ chicken? Sounds yummy!

To everyone who stops by ::grouphug

Quick :plane: for me today... off to work :hurt:. It's a beautiful sunny morning and I would rather be at home with MG. He has Monday's off, so he will be able to enjoy the day!! Good thing is that I won't have to get supper ready, that's his job today.

Chris - Your weather is starting to sound like ours usually does, rain, rain and more :rain: What is going on with the weather?? What have we done to our our poor planet, I am worried for our future generations and what they will have to deal with!! Hope that the forecast is wrong for you my friend and you get to get outside and play in the dirt!!

Kristy - Wow busy weekend for your family!! I love to drive my hubby's truck too, but he gets all nervous even giving it to me for a quick run to the store LOL. Hope your Monday is great!!

Have a great day everyone, I am off to the shower to get ready for work Ugh!!

Helllllp!

I have no idea what to get my sister for her 21st birthday. I hardly know the girl. We are 10 years apart and I moved away (got married to a soldier) when she was only 8. Sh loves fast cars, is super popular, loves partying, not very crafty. Loves skiing, beaches, new york city, name brand high end purses and shoes (though doesn't own any). But I'm not made of money either. My cousin is getting her a night in a hotel and wanted me to chip in. I told her no very politely. I don't agree with that. I think I already posted that on here. But I am terrible when it comes to thinking up gifts. I would love to fly over and surprise her, but hubby can't take off work, I have 3 kids, yadda yadda yadda......

Oh I forgot. She is moving into her own place with her boyfriend in June. She has no furniture or anything, so maybe a gift card to some store to buy decorations or something? She has tons of kitchen crap from mom, so she's covered there!

yeah i would get her a gift card to a furniture store or something like that or buy her some lamps or something :)

Katrina - I can't even remember what I got my sister for her 21st birthday. I think I gave her money because we were in Vegas. You could send her a Visa card so that she could spend the money on whatever she wants...drinks on her night out or save it for her future place.

Today was a mellow day. Addie kept me up all night last night so it was a slow day. I am trying to get this week figured out with helping at the shelters. What I thought I could do, I can't. So, we'll see how it comes together. My husband wants to help with cleanup but we have to wait for the Electric company to get stuff figured out. When we were handing out water there were power lines everywhere. They shut down the grid so the lines were no live wires. The power company was working hard when we saw them yesterday. Derek was really upset to not see anyone in uniform helping out. He was very surprised that no one had been tasked to help immediately. I am guessing they are just waiting to get things assessed before they help. But there was also damage on post, so that could be where they were tasked. But with 40K+ soldiers I would think some of them would be out helping. We'll see how things go. There are months of cleanup ahead. I am hoping to get pics up soon on FB. I can't believe I didn't take my camera when we were helping. Oh well.

Alrighty, hopefully soon I'll be able to think of something besides this. I have a wedding to plan too. I bought the invitations yesterday and need to start working on them too. Maybe tomorrow.
