Scott and I keep laughing at ourselves how quickly we went from Bird Skeptics to Bird Obsessed. We have been sending each other bird videos/photos from our feeder cams nonstop. Yesterday I got some hysterical ones of grackles from him and I had to send the ones of the cardinal looking grumpy. Why do they always look so grumpy?

Just now, I got all excited-- I was watching two birds grabbing dead leaves out of my planter box. Why would they be grabbing leaves? Well duh!! I bet they are going to use them in nests!! Baby birds! How exciting.
OTOH, I hope that they don't have the nest anywhere I can see it. I've been devastated way too many times by witnessing how cruel Mother Nature can be.
In May 2020 there was a nest on my rhododendron and because it was during lockdown, it was a highlight of our day. One day it snowed and we tried to cover the top of the rhodo to keep the snow off of the nest. It didn't work and that crushed us. It was like all of the hopes and dreams of getting out of covid were in that nest.
So just as I pretend that meat comes from plastic trays at the supermarket, I like to keep my head in the sand about the percentage of animal babies not surviving.
On to personals
Going to be hunkered down today. Very high wind warnings and "maybe snow" starting soon. You know it is bad when the electric company warns they may shut off power in several areas of state to avoid snapped power lines starting wild fires!!! 2 areas of the state had bad wild fires last year so understand the concerns. Forecasts that the winds could get to 80mph.... YIKES!!!
Oh my goodness. Be safe! I saw the warnings/news statements about the dust storms and wildfires in TX and OK. Is that part of the same weather system you too?
Smart idea to hold off on the laundry for now, the last thing you need is a washer filled with wet clothes for an extended period of time. *holds nose*
Did you check on your daylilies? I hope they are starting to grow.
I finally got a layout done and will post it this morning. It is for the Journaling Challenge and it was good therapy for me to do that one!
I saw your LO on FB but want to leave a comment in the gallery here. Your journaling was so wonderful and heartfelt and I'm glad that it helped a little. It must be so hard to not feel that closure. ♥
So excited about your Spa weekend and I hope that you found a new bathing suit. That is my least favorite thing to shop for.
The chair yoga did help, at least mentally. I hate just sitting. I know I am going to lose most of the muscle strength I gained over the last year and I'll need it for field trip season which starts in April.
I'm super jealous/happy that your daffodils and crocus are blooming too!
@vickyday Carolyn must have been thrilled to have all of that food. You and Ilene are a great team in the kitchen, making dinner together. And how rude of Mark to repay you by beating you at Quirkle haha!
Did you find any good freezer meal recipes?
I finally got my jewelry selection sent in for review. It was hard to only pick five but I decided to keep it simple, so I can stockpile quickly if I get accepted.
Rae!! Your jewelry is beautiful! I cannot pick a favorite!

I hope that you hear from the shop soon but I love that you have a bunch of back up plans too. The most important part is that you are having fun and it sure sounds like you are.
I got yelled at yesterday. Gary yelled (not really but asked me what I thought I was going) because I made a vegan Mexican corn pasta salad. I had several red and green peppers that I didn't want to go to waste. I had the pasta boiling and all of the veggies chopped and seasoned when he came into the kitchen. *whispers* It was honestly good timing so I didn't have to take the big pot off the stove to drain the pasta, which could have gone poorly if I lost my balance. But don't tell him I said that!* LOL
Typical March here. Snowed last night. Not enough to do much more then say its white on the ground. less then half an inch. Today I get to stay home. Yeah. Eyes, dental, grands, etc all done for the week. Last night was the first night I was allowed to sleep without my compression. It was bliss but weird. I have just enough time left to drink my coffee and shower before I have to put it back on. We're now at the 12 on 12 off schedule and I made sure to wait long enough I didn't have to hurry in the morning.
How late in the year will you get measurable snow?
Woooohooo about the compression!!

When I was a teen, I had to wear a back brace for scoliosis, and I 100% understand the timing of having the brace off and the weirdness of not sleeping in it.
Your grandkids are super, love that they snuggle in like that. How old are they all?
@scrap-genie It wouldn't be a proper Pi Day if you didn't post a LO ♥
Last night I was up to see the lunar eclipse, at least parts of it as it was too cold in the night to stay outside.
And remember about House Finches that only the males have red in their plumage.
I totally forgot about the eclipse (not that I would have been awake for it anyway), that's too bad you couldn't; see all of it.
Thank you for the reminder about the colors of the finches. It's hard enough to keep the species straight in my mind without having to remember male vs female colorings. Forget about the juveniles looking completely different too. How do you keep it all straight?
I am excited that I can identify most of the ones that are at my feeder now. Never thought I could do that.
Hi Everyone! Long time no see! Or at least it feels like it's been a while. I was telling Mark today that my work isn't physically taxing but mentally it is - nothing is "hard", but there is so much to do and keep track of, I come home really tired. Very fulfilled, but very tired. It's messing with my scrapping work flow! And this week I have another head/chest cold and it's messing with me. Third time I've been sick since starting work last July.
That does sound exhausting, mentally can be just as taxing as physically if you ask me! I find that I am more tired by doing nothing than anything else. But if you are juggling lots of work stuff in your brain-- that exhausts me just thinking about it.
I hope that you are feeling better too, that has to be playing a huge role in the fatigue.
Good luck with the new phones, were you able to get the watch as well? (That was you who wanted to get the watch/phone combo, right? If not~~>

me )
New bird sightings always make for good days! I love how you share your list with us.
They are the excitement of my day. I spent so much time yesterday staring out the window with my little binoculars. Just wait until it is hummingbird season. We'll be at the dinner table and I get so excited when I see them out the window I interrupt everyone by whispering "hummingbird-friend." And then everyone has to *freeze* while I keep whispering, "Drink, my bird friends."
I am 100% annoying. But I can't help it and the fam puts up with me. Usually.
This is them when my back is turned ~>
(No wonder I am always in pain!!!

)
Well the worse of the weather missed us! Having gusts but only up around 50 mph, thank goodness. Had a bit of snow melting as it landed on the ground but temp is up into the 40's so no accumulation.
That's great news but still crazy windy!
