Daily Ooos: March 15-16: Weekend Edition

The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Well, the sunny days are over for now just in time for the weekend. We have rain today and tomorrow, but heck, it's not snow so it's all good! (Not that it makes *any* difference at all to me.)

I forgot about putting the pie in the oven yesterday. Caitlyn came home from work and mentioned that she was disappointed that the school didn't do anything for Pi Day and that was when I remembered. I'll bake it this morning so we have it ready for tonight.

Despite being stuck in my chair for the most part, I got a lot done yesterday. Yay! I sketched out an outline for both Spring HS sessions. Topics are mostly set and each one has a few activities/ideas planned.
I also registered for two more classes with the TrailBound Project. I am taking a K9 First Aid/Hiking Safety class and one on Maps and Compasses. TBP is the group that allows Weis employees to take classes for free. The K9 course is being taught by a non-TBP educator so I had to pay $49 instead of $99. Worth every penny, IMHO. And no, we aren't allowed to bring our dogs, everything will be done on dog mannequins. :p

Nothing happening here. I'll try to do some scrapping and flesh out my HS plans a little more.

Whatever you have planned, I hope it is fun and fabulous just like you are! ♥

Scott and I keep laughing at ourselves how quickly we went from Bird Skeptics to Bird Obsessed. We have been sending each other bird videos/photos from our feeder cams nonstop. Yesterday I got some hysterical ones of grackles from him and I had to send the ones of the cardinal looking grumpy. Why do they always look so grumpy? :p
Just now, I got all excited-- I was watching two birds grabbing dead leaves out of my planter box. Why would they be grabbing leaves? Well duh!! I bet they are going to use them in nests!! Baby birds! How exciting.
OTOH, I hope that they don't have the nest anywhere I can see it. I've been devastated way too many times by witnessing how cruel Mother Nature can be.
In May 2020 there was a nest on my rhododendron and because it was during lockdown, it was a highlight of our day. One day it snowed and we tried to cover the top of the rhodo to keep the snow off of the nest. It didn't work and that crushed us. It was like all of the hopes and dreams of getting out of covid were in that nest.
So just as I pretend that meat comes from plastic trays at the supermarket, I like to keep my head in the sand about the percentage of animal babies not surviving.

On to personals :p

Going to be hunkered down today. Very high wind warnings and "maybe snow" starting soon. You know it is bad when the electric company warns they may shut off power in several areas of state to avoid snapped power lines starting wild fires!!! 2 areas of the state had bad wild fires last year so understand the concerns. Forecasts that the winds could get to 80mph.... YIKES!!!
Oh my goodness. Be safe! I saw the warnings/news statements about the dust storms and wildfires in TX and OK. Is that part of the same weather system you too?
Smart idea to hold off on the laundry for now, the last thing you need is a washer filled with wet clothes for an extended period of time. *holds nose*
Did you check on your daylilies? I hope they are starting to grow.

I finally got a layout done and will post it this morning. It is for the Journaling Challenge and it was good therapy for me to do that one!
I saw your LO on FB but want to leave a comment in the gallery here. Your journaling was so wonderful and heartfelt and I'm glad that it helped a little. It must be so hard to not feel that closure. ♥
So excited about your Spa weekend and I hope that you found a new bathing suit. That is my least favorite thing to shop for.
The chair yoga did help, at least mentally. I hate just sitting. I know I am going to lose most of the muscle strength I gained over the last year and I'll need it for field trip season which starts in April.
I'm super jealous/happy that your daffodils and crocus are blooming too!

@vickyday Carolyn must have been thrilled to have all of that food. You and Ilene are a great team in the kitchen, making dinner together. And how rude of Mark to repay you by beating you at Quirkle haha!
Did you find any good freezer meal recipes?
I finally got my jewelry selection sent in for review. It was hard to only pick five but I decided to keep it simple, so I can stockpile quickly if I get accepted.
Rae!! Your jewelry is beautiful! I cannot pick a favorite! :wow: I hope that you hear from the shop soon but I love that you have a bunch of back up plans too. The most important part is that you are having fun and it sure sounds like you are.
I got yelled at yesterday. Gary yelled (not really but asked me what I thought I was going) because I made a vegan Mexican corn pasta salad. I had several red and green peppers that I didn't want to go to waste. I had the pasta boiling and all of the veggies chopped and seasoned when he came into the kitchen. *whispers* It was honestly good timing so I didn't have to take the big pot off the stove to drain the pasta, which could have gone poorly if I lost my balance. But don't tell him I said that!* LOL

Typical March here. Snowed last night. Not enough to do much more then say its white on the ground. less then half an inch. Today I get to stay home. Yeah. Eyes, dental, grands, etc all done for the week. Last night was the first night I was allowed to sleep without my compression. It was bliss but weird. I have just enough time left to drink my coffee and shower before I have to put it back on. We're now at the 12 on 12 off schedule and I made sure to wait long enough I didn't have to hurry in the morning.
How late in the year will you get measurable snow?
Woooohooo about the compression!! dance3
When I was a teen, I had to wear a back brace for scoliosis, and I 100% understand the timing of having the brace off and the weirdness of not sleeping in it.
Your grandkids are super, love that they snuggle in like that. How old are they all?

@scrap-genie It wouldn't be a proper Pi Day if you didn't post a LO ♥
Last night I was up to see the lunar eclipse, at least parts of it as it was too cold in the night to stay outside.
And remember about House Finches that only the males have red in their plumage.
I totally forgot about the eclipse (not that I would have been awake for it anyway), that's too bad you couldn't; see all of it.
Thank you for the reminder about the colors of the finches. It's hard enough to keep the species straight in my mind without having to remember male vs female colorings. Forget about the juveniles looking completely different too. How do you keep it all straight?
I am excited that I can identify most of the ones that are at my feeder now. Never thought I could do that.

Hi Everyone! Long time no see! Or at least it feels like it's been a while. I was telling Mark today that my work isn't physically taxing but mentally it is - nothing is "hard", but there is so much to do and keep track of, I come home really tired. Very fulfilled, but very tired. It's messing with my scrapping work flow! And this week I have another head/chest cold and it's messing with me. Third time I've been sick since starting work last July.
That does sound exhausting, mentally can be just as taxing as physically if you ask me! I find that I am more tired by doing nothing than anything else. But if you are juggling lots of work stuff in your brain-- that exhausts me just thinking about it.
I hope that you are feeling better too, that has to be playing a huge role in the fatigue.
Good luck with the new phones, were you able to get the watch as well? (That was you who wanted to get the watch/phone combo, right? If not~~> :ignore1: me )
New bird sightings always make for good days! I love how you share your list with us.
They are the excitement of my day. I spent so much time yesterday staring out the window with my little binoculars. Just wait until it is hummingbird season. We'll be at the dinner table and I get so excited when I see them out the window I interrupt everyone by whispering "hummingbird-friend." And then everyone has to *freeze* while I keep whispering, "Drink, my bird friends."
I am 100% annoying. But I can't help it and the fam puts up with me. Usually.
This is them when my back is turned ~> :voodoodoll:

(No wonder I am always in pain!!! :floorlaugh:)

Well the worse of the weather missed us! Having gusts but only up around 50 mph, thank goodness. Had a bit of snow melting as it landed on the ground but temp is up into the 40's so no accumulation.
That's great news but still crazy windy!

:grouphugyay:

Good Morning!!!

Well, my DD birthday is first week in May and we always got snow for her birthday. Was hard to plan outdoor parties. Last night it snowed and there's 2" of snow. The whole world is going to grumble and complain. now. We were down to dirt n grass. Its annoying to have so much grumbling. It snows EVERY March, usually a foot and people just cant remember. They see the sun and feel the warmth returning and they go sideways when the (happens every year) snow falls again. But usually the first of May we will get an inch or two at most and its usually gone quickly.

I wore my compression to bed last night. Did too much Thursday and thought I'll just wear it to bed. No big deal right? Well, it makes me over hot in the middle of the night. Like hot flashes but not. Then it also makes me have to potty in the middle of the night. Nothing like waking up to a bladder about to burst while sweating to death and then struggling to get compression back up in the dark LOL I dont think I'll wear them at night again unless I have a crazy long day like Wednesday will be. I slept so much better and didn't wake up when not wearing them.

Ive been working on my cruise scrapbook and its a good thing I took 900 photos. Some things I have forgotten already. Like what did we do between breakfast and lunch??? Huh look crazy photos on the deck. Guess we just wandered around. My plan for today is to finish day 3 of the trip. Its taking me approx 10 pages a day cause I took 10000 photos. Okay that might be an. exaggeration but not by much. Its so fun to look at them all and remember how much fun we had.

Well, need more coffee. Have a. wonderful day!

Good Morning everyone! It is going to be a dark and rainy weekend, but like Chris said, at least its not snow!! We are planning on taking the In-Laws through my DH's work building tomorrow, they have never seen the inside of the beautiful new building and time is running out for my Gary to be able to get them in. We have some errands to run and groceries to get this morning, then it might be a good day to just stay home and putter around in my craft room or try to attempt another layout. No other plans as far as I know for the rest of the weekend, except the usual :vacuuming::housekeeping::laundry:.

So just as I pretend that meat comes from plastic trays at the supermarket, I like to keep my head in the sand about the percentage of animal babies not surviving.
LOL yes Mother Nature can be a cruel b*#@h!! Hopefully you will not have be witness to such cruelty this spring! I hope that the birds keep you entertained this weekend and I agree that the Cardinals always look grumpy! I don't have any here, but love to see them when we visit our Son in Ottawa, the neighbours have many bird feeders and there are a lot of them. Thank you for the lovely comments about my scrap therapy page, it felt good to get the words out and put on a page! I haven't posted it to my personal FB page or Instagram yet, I am afraid that it might upset my SIL and she has enough to deal with. I have invited her and her daughter for dinner on Tuesday night. Her daughter leaves to go back home to Australia on the 21st and I would like to see her one more time before she goes.

I need more coffee and I also need to get my grocery list done and put on my phone. I hope that everyone who pops in here today has nicer weather than we do and that you get to do something fun and exciting today! :bye2:

Good morning ladies. I've been online with instagram, trying to figure out how to get another account up and running. It kept saying my password was wrong and then it posted my first one to the wrong account. I had to change password 3 times and now I get a message saying that I have limited function for a few days b/c I logged in on an unknown device (no, its my pc which I always use LOL). I think I got my first post finally up on ruby_rae_designs and will try another post later. Ugh...these things never go smoothly for me. I'd like to get a LO done later and create a few pieces while watching a show on my computer. I'll get out with Remi of course as I always do but I'll have a hat and gloves on today. Light misty snow and wind with temps below freezing. We'll have weather similar to Tracy for a few months, it gets really nice for a few days, then it snows and temps drop, and back and forth. Layers are needed at this time of the year for sure b/c you never know what the temps will be from morning to afternoon and day to day.

Tomorrow we are using our truck to help a friend move a bunch of stuff to her new place so that when the movers come in a few wks there won't be as much to do. I'll put a crockpot on before we go (honey garlic chicken) and then we have company coming at 3 for games/dinner. First thing on Monday morning I'm calling Shaw to check prices and how soon we might be able to switch providers. We are soooo done with Telus. Now we are finding that many here don't have good service with them. Their fiber optic is fairly new here and not working well. Now we find that out...ugh.

@faerywings Your bird cam viewing sounds amazing! I sure wish I was there. We don't get many birds until May, it's a short birding season here, but maybe that's a good thing for me b/c I have so many other things to do anyway.

@AK_Tracy So glad that things seem to be progressing well. Sure doesn't sound like nighttime compression is a good thing though.

@taxed4ever The tour thru G's work should be interesting for the in-laws. Time is flying, his last day is soon approaching! Hope you have a good visit with your SIL and her daughter this wk.

I'm getting another coffee and then will dress and get out with Remi before heading to the store for groceries to make dinner tomorrow. HAGD everyone.

Well how did we get to the weekend already.
Yesterday was a really busy day. Weather was beautiful so it was outside work all day. I cleaned out my bromeliad garden. I had 8 different ones all grown together so now I have huge pile of them to give to friends and the club. Two friends have taken some but the pile is still huge. I released 2 monarchs, did laundry and made dinner...oh and a cocktail with my hubby.
More yard work today but tomorrow has rain in the forecast.I washed the bedding and dried them outside. I released another monarch only 2 more eating the rest are in chrysalis-28 of them. I vacuumed the leaves from the back lawn and ground them into mulch for the new bromeliad garden. We are going to a friends house for a small dinner party so I do not have to think about cooking.

How did the day slip away so fast??? I did spend almost an hour talking to DSister.... today is her birthday. I was telling her I woke up thinking today was March 17th and that I had missed her birthday!!! Only when I got on the computer I realized that it was the 15th... and had not missed it after all... :floorlaugh: :girldance::yesss::cheer: She had been out to get her FREE BRITHDAY meal and a nearby steak house. She had Ribeye steak, sweet potatoes, fried okra, and a huge salad with Ranch Dressing. She only ate half of it and brought the rest home to have tomorrow. YUMMY!!! In fact, it made me hungry. So... I got dressed and went to the grocery store. Yep... I bought some breaded okra and some breaded shrimp and cocktail sauce plus fresh asparagus and will fix that tomorrow. It is cold... 44*F with a cold wind blowing so was happy to get home and put the groceries away.

I'm worn out so going to nuke something for supper and try to call it an early night - may read for a bit.

I saw two of "your" monarchs today in my backyard!! I was so excited I had to share the news.
"Hello" to all the other Ooos. :heartpumpred:

@FloridaGranny Oh i'm sure those were my monarchs---LOL. I have two more to release today they emerged over night I'll send them your way too.

@BrightEyes it sounds like a steak lovers meal that your sister had but I would enjoy your shrimp much more personally. You have had some crazy weather there lately I hope it settles down for you.

@bcgal00 I laughed at you using your truck to help friends move...LOL that is the problem with having a truck always getting a call to help move something.

@faerywings the bird cam sounds amazing what fun. I have a trail cam that I set out at night and get to see what is around the house. I also bring it when we go camping to see what roams around at night near the trailer. It's fun to see what is going on when we are sleeping. At home our security cameras record stuff too like raccoons, opossums, ducks, cats and coyotes. Every morning is a surprise when has been over to visit us. We need to see your progress on the fairy house. Life is tough for baby birds. We had baby ducks that would come right to our feet on the patio one day while they were there a Night Heron swooped down, grabbed one and took off..maybe 4 feet away from us.

@AK_Tracy I hated those compression things that pump up then relax then pump up again, etc...it that what you have to wear? I had to wear those after my hip replacement...they were horrible but I was told not to wear them to bed. when they are pumped up they stay on but if you have to move when they are relaxed they fall down....ugh so annoying. I hope you are progressing so you don't have to wear them anymore.
Forgetting what you did on the cruise...I guess that is why we scrap to preserve those memories!

It sure sounds like everyone is busy this weekend. We had a blast at our friends house last night. He is an amazing cook so it's always great to eat there...We even have leftovers. Thick pork chops smothered in onion, garlic and mushrooms covered with 3 different cheeses, roasted herbed potatoes, glazed whole baby carrots and salad.
Today I am getting the leaf vacuum/mulcher out to clean up the other side of the house...these huge shade trees drop so many leaves all the time. Up North fall was clean up season here its all year. the lawn guys clean it but I want to use them for mulch so I need to get to them before they come take care of the yard.
I talked to dear granddaughter yesterday. They gave her an orchid for dental assistance day so need some advise how to keep it alive...now I am remote grandorchid advisor.LOL

Two monarchs emerged last night so I will set them free this morning because they are talking rain later.
I am hoping to do some photo cleaning from my phone so I have some space for the summer travels when I don't use my Canon.

Yikes, I am really "behind schedule." Everything takes me so much longer and with so much frustration. I was trying to work on the grocery order just now and I totally gave up. I don't know what meals to plan for and Gary's stomach is so bad that he can't even think about food without being overcome by nausea. Poor guy. I call out-- "What do you want for dinners this week?" and he turns all shades of green and "pale."

How was everyone's Saturday?
Mine was OK-ish. I didn't get to work on lessons since Caitlyn needed my computer to do her taxes. I worked on a puzzle at the DR table instead. I thought I'd be able to do that with my foot propped up but that didn't work out as I hoped for a variety of reasons.
I spent soooo much time laughing at the birds. I sent Scott several more videos of the birds and squirrels. I watched one probably 5 times in a row. A male cardinal was there first, doing his Cardinal-head thing, bopping it around as he was eating. he is on the right side of the feeder. A Carolina wren pops up from the bottom on the left side. The cardinal gets all annoyed and rustles and flaps his wings. The wren pops back down--- only to reappear, grabs some seeds, and flies off. Then the cardinal turns to where the wren flew and I *swear* -- he glared at the wren. Wish I could share the video. I named it "The Morning I'm A Cardinal and an A******* Video." :rotfl:
I sent Scott a video of a squirrel at the feeder with a seed stuck to his nose, trying to get it off while holding onto the feeder.
I am not as happy with the squirrels as I was last week since they are trying to make a nest in the siding of my house. I sent Gary info for local places that remove them humanely but he wants to see if he can DIY it. (men. :rolleyes1: )

I found out where the birds are bringing the leaves for a nest--- my portable greenhouse. Its a frame with a clear plastic cover but it is right next to the garbage and recycling cans. It's in a good spot otherwise but I hope we don't stress them out every time we walk outside.

I overdid it on my feet yesterday (surprise!!) and I am feelin' it today. I am going to do my best to behave. My pancake butt is already rebelling LOL

Wishing everyone a great day!♥

Well, my DD birthday is first week in May and we always got snow for her birthday. Was hard to plan outdoor parties. Last night it snowed and there's 2" of snow. The whole world is going to grumble and complain. now. We were down to dirt n grass. Its annoying to have so much grumbling. It snows EVERY March, usually a foot and people just cant remember.
Yup, it must be that denial that the weather will do its thing whether we like it or not. Can't tell you how many times I started to uncover the gardens (I keep the dead leaves over them for insulation) too early. I can't help myself. :D
Scott and Sam are in Tahoe with Sam's aunt and family and got stuck crossing the Sierra Nevadas in a foot of snow. Can I tell you how fricking relieved I was that I did NOT know about this until after they got to Tahoe???
Did too much Thursday
SMH... Whydya go and do that? For shame! ( :haloslip:)

Well, it makes me over hot in the middle of the night. Like hot flashes but not. Then it also makes me have to potty in the middle of the night. Nothing like waking up to a bladder about to burst while sweating to death and then struggling to get compression back up in the dark L
I am a bad, bad friend. I laughed at this. I am so sorry but he way you told this makes me LMBO.
Me-- I am at the stage where the sound of Velcro makes me want to tear my hair out. I know that anyone who has ever worn a boot knows exactly what I mean. But at least I am not sweating and struggling to pee. (as long as I don't wait until the last minute to put %#^*^ boot on and hobble to the bathroom. I gotta learn to give myself more time! LOL)

Have you been uploading the cruise LOs here? I don't think I have seen any yet.

@taxed4ever That's such a nice idea to take your parents to see your Gary's work. Are his coworkers planning anything for his retirement?
I hope that you had some time to work on some more scrapping. especially if the weather wasn't great. I know that as soon as Spring arrives you and your Gary are going to be busy with the yard.
I can't imagine how your niece wants and needs to get back to AU but it's going to be so hard on her and your SIL. I hope you get to visit with her before she leaves.

@bcgal00 what a mess about the IG issues! I deleted my IG account a while ago but I am sti;l getting email notifications from it. I'd follow you if I still have an active acct. Good luck again!
Hope that the weather isn't too chaotic especially today while you are helping your friend move.
Your honey garlic chicken sounds good! I have chicken cutlets int he freezer-- maybe I can try something like that one night soon.

@BoatLady I wish I lived near you to take some of the bromeliads too. (never mind that my zone would never support them LOL)
I am so happy to hear about all of your yard work and garden plans. I will have to live vicariously through you until I and the weather are ready ♥ :flower:

@BrightEyes Happy birthday to your sister. I hope she wasn't affected by the wind and dust storms in TX. Did the wind calm down by you too? We are supposed to get lots of wind tonight but not like what you went through.
Enjoy your dinner tonight! It made me hungry too! Well- the shrimp, not the steak LOL

@FloridaGranny Hi Diane!! :waving1

Debby, I keep seeing adverts for "pollinator cams" on my Facebook feed-- you should get one so you can share the monarch releases with us:giggle4:
We set out a trail cam in the backyard during the covid lockdown and it was a source of entertainment for months. We made up bingo cards and checked off things we saw. And laughed at the squirrels. All the time.
I'll have to take some pics of the faery house soon.

:grouphugyay:

Good morning ladies. I spent some time in my office this morning, unpacking gems and jewelry supplies. I stockpiled a lot of supplies to get started in my biz and now have busy organizing and putting into jars and organizers. I've about 3/4 organized so almost caught up. Then I can put away as I receive deliveries, not falling behind again. I finally got my IG up and running. Nothing fancy, I don't even know how to do the videos/reels or whatever they are called yet. I'll work on that at a later date but for now I can start posting pics of my designs and will get cards made up as soon as I get my biz license (just have to make sure my biz name isn't taken) before I get anything printed. It's all done online now so it's so much easier than when I had to get my photography license.

If you want to follow me, here's the IG link for Ruby Rae Designs.

We'll leave in a bit to go help a friend move boxes into her new place. We were supposed to have a game day and crockpot dinner later but our friend was rushed into the hospital last night and they are doing surgery. Poor guy, his kidney is lacerated, he had been toppled into when skiing and they found 3 cracked ribs but they missed the laceration. That was a week ago and I guess now infection and inflammation has set in. Haven't heard from the wife yet but hopefully we'll get good news later this morning.

I didn't get a chance to scrap yet this wkend but maybe later this afternoon since we won't be playing cards.

@faerywings Since you are feeling the pain today you better take it easy. I bet G will be watching you for sure.

@BoatLady Yes, we often get asked for help but we don't mind. Our friends have been very respectful about favors. I find our little town is so helpful with everyone, friends and strangers alike. Someone posts online that help is needed and everyone jumps to lend a hand, money or time as needed. We are very lucky to live here.

I'm getting one more coffee and need to get the chicken ready for the crockpot before I take Remi for a walk.

HAGD everyone.

Good Morning Ladies!!!

Yes, a compression suit that inflates. Its an hour cycle where I cant move. I have a set for upper body and one for lower body. I haven't used them since surgery as it would ooze me out LOL My incisions weren't closed because I needed too ooze and they were small cuts. I have compression pants that I have to wear right now, just tight clothing style. I will restart using the pump on my upper body since I didn't have surgery there. Just not ready mentally but soon I need to so the lymph system starts moving properly.

LOL)
Not a bad friend. I laughed too. At least last nights midnight pee was easy as I wasn't wearing compression. I totally know the Velcro sound. Wakes me from a dead sleep. Not from my experience but the males in my house. Nothing like the ripping of velcro. I was so glad when my son was done with his boot. Mostly so he could wash!!!! His incisions were so big he wasn't allowed to shower/wet them until totally healing too place. Almost 6 weeks of :sick::sick:
Have you been uploading the cruise LOs here? I don't think I have seen any yet.
I haven't put any LO here. Most of the photos are peopley and not allowed and I have been using kits not available here. I'll see if I can find a couple and share here.

Today is fun. I get to go to church. However that means I have to wear clothes on top of my compression. I am dying of heat at the moment. Tights, compression, skirt (cause jeans wont fit) and a lacey style sweater. Its 22* so need a warmer top but not too hot cause I worked out pulling compression on!! Whew.

Need coffee then out the door. Have a great day!

Morning, all. Spent a couple of hours yesterday checking photos on my ExHD... I discovered that some of my photos that I transferred from the camera chip didn't load correctly. UGH!!! Fortunately most of them are on the chip that was in the camera. It was a matter of discovering where they were on the chip... trashing the bad ones from the Picture files and reloading them. Most were the photos I took of the Wedding Album pages I did last fall. So glad I discovered they were bad on the computer and could save them again. Then I spent a few hours opening chips on the computer looking for another group of photos I took in Dec 2022... Never did find that chip even after looking at the 12 chips I have kept.

I had a challenge (elsewhere) that had to be a photo I have taken recently... Went to bed but after tossing and turning for 30 minutes... decided what I could photograph for it... Yep....I was up at midnight taking several photos. Uploaded them to the computer this morning and was very pleased with them. Chose one to use and what kit. It just flowed right together. Sometimes those late night thoughts turn out to be good ones. :yesss: :girldance::floorlaugh:

@BrightEyes Happy birthday to your sister. I hope she wasn't affected by the wind and dust storms in TX. Did the wind calm down by you too? We are supposed to get lots of wind tonight but not like what you went through.
Enjoy your dinner tonight! It made me hungry too! Well- the shrimp, not the steak LOL
Oh, yes... the winds near Sis were terrible (Amarillo) and there were several bad wreaks due to the dirt storms. She was able to go to lunch during one of the lulls... and got home just as another dirt storm blew up again. Most of New Mexico and Texas was hit with bad ones... and lots of accidents.

@AK_Tracy I was LOL over your description on needing to pee when wearing the compression suit... Think most of us have woke up and had to rush to the bathroom... I could almost see you pulling at the inflated legs and hopping madly toward the toilet!!! Sorry it is taking you longer to heal than it took your daughter.

@bcgal00 Love the jewelry you have made... hope all goes well with you getting your license soon. Seeing your jewelry makes me want to dig into my beads, findings, etc and made some. But, since I am not going out much... don't wear much jewelry now. So glad you have made good friends since your move.

@Cherylndesigns Just saw your latest AJ page... so wonderful. Wish I could get my AJ mojo going again.

Since the winds look to be calmer, I am going to get the laundry started. My hamper is full and over-flowing again.

SMH... Whydya go and do that? For shame! ( :haloslip:)

@FloridaGranny Hi Diane!! :waving1

Hi there, Chris! :waving1 I always enjoy reading about what's going on with everyone.

Hi Debby, I'll be looking for them. It's kinda windy today (read "very" windy) so I hope your butterflies don't get blown away to Georgia, :D

Good Afternoon!
I didn't make it on here at all yesterday! Was on my feet in the kitchen all day long (literally!) working on my freezer meals! I could only go so far because I was waiting on my grocery order to complete them! I didn't get them finished! I worked on the pork tenderloin chops first. Then worked on the chicken thighs (boneless, skinless). I will work on the beef today. Mostly cutting the meat up for the recipes. Then, depending on how I feel (motivated or not) after getting it cut up, I may or may not finish up the freezer bags! I sure hope all this work is worth it!

I forgot about putting the pie in the oven yesterday.
My first thought was that you had my disease.....you put it in the oven and forgot it!
Carolyn must have been thrilled to have all of that food. You and Ilene are a great team in the kitchen, making dinner together. And how rude of Mark to repay you by beating you at Quirkle haha!
Did you find any good freezer meal recipes?
Carolyn was so thankful for the food! She is so overwhelmed!
Yes, Ilene and I are a great team in the kitchen! We work like each other's right hands!
I know, right? How dare Mark beat us after fixing him that delicious supper, including blackberry cobbler!
Funny story about the blackberry cobbler.......
When I was living with Ilene after Tim died and before Mark and I got married.....when we started dating, he would come to Ilene's for supper just about every night. Several times Ilene would fix the blackberry cobbler or blackberry dumplings. He "says" he told us he was diabetic and that we were trying to kill him with meals and dessert all the time! Not true! He knew he was diabetic yet didn't tell us and it didn't keep him from eating, either!
I did find some good freezer meal recipes! They are yet to be proven, however! ;)
Gary's stomach is so bad that he can't even think about food without being overcome by nausea. Poor guy.
Aww! Poor guy! I feel for him as I know that feeling!
It's in a good spot otherwise but I hope we don't stress them out every time we walk outside.
Our wrens like being around the house! We have a table outside our back door on the carport. They always build their nests in it! Also in boxes around the pit area in the woods under the shelter!
Ruby Rae Designs.
I love that name, Rae! Is Ruby your first name?

OK, I need to get started on the meat!
Have a great afternoon!

Surprise everybody. Just doing a fly by (lol) to say Hey. Just got home from lunch at Nancy's with Adrienne and Roger. Speaking of fly-by's; Roger got to go up in a fighter jet this past week. They even did some "maneuvers" and Adrienne and my stomachs were rolling just hearing about it. He said he would do it again tomorrow if he could. They hit "G5"!

Chris @faerywings I hear ya about the birds. When Chuck passed away, I gave the feeders to Ava because they reminded me too much of him. I miss the little dudes, but he had to walk out on a steep slope every day to fill their feeders - they went through them every day. Anyway, we have been seeing Cardinals all over the property and the other day, Aly brought me a little feeder that sicks on my office window. She started getting Cardinals when she got one of them, so she brought me one. I haven't seen a Cardinal yet, but yesterday, the sweetest little birds (I think they might be Chickadees) came and ate. I took some pictures, but it was bright, late afternoon sun and they're pretty washed out. They were yellow and green and very small.

Trudy @taxed4ever your beautiful tribute layout is so touching. I hope you found some degree of solace after putting your heart on a layout. I know how much art journaling about Chuck has helped me work through my grief. Hugs to you, my sweet friend.

Kay @BrightEyes Thanks for the sweet comments about my newest AJ page. I know your AJ mojo is just playing hard to get right now. You'll get it back, girl. Just sit down and start. I hope to see a page for my new challenge, at least. I still can't find my close-up glasses, so it takes me twice as long to do anything as far as scrapbooking goes. I'm just happy that I had that layout in my head.

Well, I have turned this house upside down looking for my prescription glasses to no avail. I even moved my bed today but nada. I'm calling tomorrow to get an eye appt
and get some new ones ASAP. Adrienne gave me a stronger pair of her "cheaters" but nothing beats a pair that are made for my (different strength) eyes. I;ve been switching off and on with my bifocals and have a crooked neck from raring my head back. :banghead: I wish I'd never gotten these darned things. "You'll get used to them" I've heard that so many times. :lalalala:

Hugs to ALL, sorry I can't do more personals, but my neck is strained.

PS I've had to go back and correct so many typos - if anybody finds more, I apologize in advance.:stupicpc::cuffed:

Yeah but if they're not right you'll never get use to them. I had to have mine made bigger. The bifocal part covers a bigger space because I couldn't see enough of my kindle to read. I told them no I am not bobbing while reading. They made them bigger and that made all the difference for me. Now I am use to them. BUT I use a laptop on my lap, so I dont look straight at or up to see my monitor. Its a natural position for my head.

I hope you can get some glasses that work better for you this time around.

You know, I think that's the problem, now that you mention it, Tracy. I've never had them before but the frames aren't very big and I'm pretty sure that would have made a difference. When i go in there, I'm going to mention that. I bought extra insurance, on scratches, but they probably won't replace the lenses. UGH. I REALLY need those close up glasses - like yesterday. This is such a PITB to not be able see at the computer. The ONLY thing I like about the bifocals is that they transition. I don't need to fool around carrying a pair of sunglasses anymore.

That good 'ole hindsight is a wonderful thing, isn't it???

Yep. But that's how we learn what works. The part of my glasses I hate...... transition! LOL They dont transition in the car and that's where I need them to be dark. So I ordered a new pair this year as just sunglasses for driving and told them make them as dark as you can!

Mine DO transition. I had the brown instead of the grey. I don't know if that makes a difference or not.
