Daily Ooos: June 14-15: Weekend Edition

The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
hello hellooO! Happy Weekend!

Eek, what happened to the hot weather here? It is so dang cold. 59° and rainy. I am currently wrapped in a blanket because I don't have it in me to climb on my desk to close my window. It's only open a couple of inches and maybe it will warm up soon. If it does, then I have to climb back up to open it again. Easier to grab the blanket.

Did you all enjoy the day yesterday? My hair is blond again, always a good feeling. As soon as I got home, it went into a ponytail and under my cap so I could work outside without it getting in my face. I spent about 2 1/2 hours cleaning out the side of my driveway and a little more of the front garden. Lemme tell you, it is much easier getting the dead leaves out when the plants aren't all filled in. I had to clip down the spent lilies of the valley (rip some of them out too, they are spreading like crazy). The true lilies are almost ready to bloom and I can't wait. I have white, red, and orange ones. Someone has been nibbling the leaves off the smaller plants but I haven't seen any of the *@#!* red lily beetles that kill them. They are so disgusting, the larvae at least. *fingers crossed that they don't appear this year or ever again*

I'm glad it is rainy today. I have so much desk work that I have been blowing off and/or intentionally ignoring. Today is the day.
It's the last day of the Party so my Gallery Love game will get closed tonight, in case you need to finish that up.

Thats it for me!
HAGD!

Glad Mouse is good about taking her abx. Is it pill form?
I giggled at the carpet fiasco. I don't have carpet to worry about but if anything is going to spill or puke, the only area rug I have that is in the living room is going to catch it! Murphy's Law! Ha!
Thank goodness it is liquid! It's 2 ml (.2 mls??) and they prefill syringes for her. hmmm, It has to be .2 mls b/c 2 mls would be close to a 1/4 tsp. It's literally droplets. The hardest part is making sure the syringe is in her mouth before you press the plunger. She gets a Cheerio as a treat afterward so she is pretty good about it.
I would love to have my house only have Pergo or similar. When we had cats, it would be like clockwork. Steam clean~> 10 minutes~> Cat vomit
:giggle4:
Were you able to get everything done yesterday that you needed to?

I went and looked and searched and drooled for over an hour. I clicked all my wish list items and of the 6 kits I bought, ONE was my wishlist the rest were new finds :giggle4:
What did you get???
Mower was as high as it could do that the dandelions would bounce back and the strawberries wouldn't get hit
Gary left the lawn mower on a longer setting for the backyard, and it has paid off. Last night, we watched a baby groundhog and a bunny go to town on the grass and weeds. The weather by you sounds wonderful and I'm glad that you and the dogs are enjoying it!

:waving1 Waving hi to all who stop in here today!!

:hug4:

That's good that the syringes are prefilled! Takes the worry out of OD-ing, I'm sure! Can you tell if there is any change in her head positioning? I hope it is just an infection and not a tumor!
I ended up not doing squat yesterday. Mark decided to not go into work so he was hanging around the house most of the day until later in the afternoon. Today he is at work for about half a day, so I'm working on his laundry.
I did get the groceries picked up and went to Walmart to the Woodforest bank to get cash for the trip. So I guess the day wasn't a total bust, LOL!

Good Morning,
Quick in and out today. I'm working in laundry....Mark's, that is. He stayed home yesterday and hung around the house all day so I didn't really get a thing done except to pick up the grocery order and go to Woodforest Bank at Walmart to get cash for my trip next week. I did pick up a few items we needed while at Walmart....ice cube trays, butter dish, gallon pitcher, new can opener.
Today Mark is working about half a day, so I'm working while I can before he gets home.
I finished the Civil War series of audiobooks I was listening to by Jocelyn Green. Wedded to War, Widow of Gettysburg, Yankee in Atlanta. Very good! I need to search and see if she has any more audiobooks available. They were fiction, but she gave all of her resources where she got her details to make them as real as possible.
OK, I'm out of here!
Have a great weekend!

Good morning

Eek, what happened to the hot weather here? It is so dang cold. 59° and rainy.
This made me giggle! 59° isn't that cold for me. Its a warm day. But as to where is the hot weather, its up here. Sunshine and if youre standing in the direct sun (yesterday) it was almost 80°. I was like the dogs, inside outside inside outside etc. I would get too hot and have to come inside.
What did you get???
I dont know! I always walk away thinking what did I buy. :giggle4: I bought the freebie dog kit cause I couldn't come up with enough kits to get it free, I bought the Eye catching vol 1. I have no idea what I will do with it but it was soooooo eye catching I had to have it (pun intended). I got the Collab Smile. Oh yeah,Candy cause it looked super yummy and fun. and Mythical Places no7 cause it was very Narnia like. Simple Spring Mini kit.

Today is another wonderful day, sunshine and nothing to do. Going to just sit and relax and ignore all the dog hair balling up in the corner of the rooms. I did enjoy hanging the laundry yesterday and it only took a couple hours to dry because the sun was out. Wish the mosquitos were gone, they're bad right now. Almost ruining being outside. Off to grab some more coffee. Have a wonderful day!

With all the traveling I am struggling to keep up...I gave up on the party challenges. It's rainy here for 2 days so trying to load pics and organize files.

We have visited with some of the camp neighbors...note: not as friendly as boaters!!

Cleaned up our wood supply crate only to find a baby garter snake in it, it doesn't get set on the ground anymore!. Went to lunch at Promised Land Inn...super food. Read my book then took photos of birds.
Later yesterday as I was changing camera lens to take photos of a chipmunk I glanced out front window and there was a doe just laying there by the trailer..so cancel the chipmunk go to the deer. She was there till some kids came along to scare here so she went into the woods behind us to lay down again...she rested then came to visit us, I was about 3 feet from her in fact my zoom lens wouldn't even take pic too close. Got a few great shots (2) on FB, bad data reception here.
We had a nice little campfire last night because it was the last non-rainy evening here, glass of wine...love camping. I set my game-camera by the steps and low and behold a big bear was the first video on it this morning. The file was too big to post on FB but I did get a few screenshots on it.

Trying to even read all the chatter is mind boggling. So here goes.

So @AK_Tracy off subject...a friend is in AK now commenting that its an exceptional warm year the locals are saying. I was just thinking did you ever plow snow in the winter this year? I know you like to do that.
59 warm??? boy did I get used to Florida warm.. I know we will have the heat on when we get to our son's house in CT and even more at his north house in NY. So glad you have a free day I hope you enjoy it.

@faerywings I'm glad you finally got the get some yard work done I know you have been wanting to. Nothing like dirty hands and the smell of fresh earth. Yes lily of the valley goes crazy when it's happy...such a great groundcover and super fragrant. I'm with you loving to see all the critters in the yard, at home I use the game-cam to see what comes around at night.

@Terri M you are right about the wineries in VA...there are so many where we were in Waynesboro...those mountains are good for the grape vines. We did manage to go to two while we were there.

@vickyday that sounds like a good series..it would be interesting for me as we went to quite a few Civil War historical sites 2 years ago including 2 days in Gettysburg.

Monday we travel again..just 3 hours to our son's place in CT. 2 weeks there and booking visits already 1/2 filled! so many people to see.

Yes, when I've been aways a couple days, I dont usually go back and read anything. Its so crazy. I do miss out on a few things but its crazy at times to try and catch up. :heartpumppink:

Yes, its warm. And the interior is warmer so depending on where you're friends are it might be way warm. But I think that the last two or three years have been SO wet and rainy that it feels crazy warm now. My area I would say it not that much above average (yet). Next week is suppose too be low 70's and that will be warm for us. I'll take it though. The last couple years have been bad for the bees and honey harvesting.

Sounds like you have been having fun though! The deer would have been fun to watch. Theyre such interesting creatures. Sorry the campers aren't as friendly as boaters. Have fun at your sons place in CT. Sounds like you'll be having a blast visiting everyone.

I'm creeping in here later than usual. Both DD#1 and I slept in a bit later... 8AM. We watched a couple of movies on Netflix last evening. Was going to fix popcorn to have during then but discovered the bags were from 2022.... YIKES!!! So we made due with some cookies and nuts. :giggle4: After a cup of coffee each, I decided to make French Toast for breakfast. Made enough for us to have another breakfast next week.. :girldance: Then DD#3 came down and she and DD#1 are taking an OLD BIG TV (a big tube style) from her son's to the dump/recycle center then were heading for a rally for a couple of hours. Hope they don't get too hot and/or sunburned as the temp is 95F heading for 99F with bright sunshine and no clouds!!! Glad it is them and not me!!! I went to the library to pickup "Shadow of Solstice" by Anne Hillerman... been on the waiting list for it for 3 weeks. :claphands: Then did a couple more errands and finally home again. Glad to be in an airconditioned house.

I really should work on the regular monthly challenges now that the Birthday fun is drawing to a close. Have a couple of LO in my challenge that I need to comment on... and then see what to do for a few more of the monthly challenges.

Hope every one is doing okay this weekend. CYL

Yes, I think you would enjoy the series. I went to Gettysburg with my MIL after my DH died. It was a great trip.

Sweatiest day ever! I did some trail work this morning and my clothes were so wet you’d have thought I was in the rain. Then a sandwich at a bagel shop where I changed into dry clothes before heading out for a couple hours of standing in the sun with my protest sign and flag. By the time I got home I had lost 3 pounds (which I’m sure I’ve recovered now, after a half gallon of ice tea and a cool shower).

David is going out to Habitat for Humanity picnic for their midweek regulars this evening so I’m just hanging out in my robe and not making dinner tonight.

I’m satisfied with myself that I kept up with the birthday challenges and games this year. It was easier than last year, when as newly migrated from ScrapGirls I didn’t have much Oscraps material. The 100% requirement made it a bit tricky. But now I’m past that. I think I have to divide my older kits and templates out of my directory. Some of the categories are getting too big to really work with.

:bawling: It's even colder this morning than it was at the same time yesterday. It's 56 and damp. Brr. My fingers are freezing.

I was in one of my restless moods yesterday, so instead of desk work, I cleaned. Scrubbed and dusted and mopped. Took apart the vacuum to get the packed-in dirt out of the filter, and did the same with the lint screen on the dryer. In between that, I was watching video clips of the rallies when I saw the news of the assassination of the MN legislator and her DH. Unbelievably tragic. I applaud the strength and courage of the people in MN who continued to attend the protests, some with signs in Melissa's memory.
Sheesh. It's getting pretty dark, I guess that is part of why I was feeling restless and off.

A fun and happy update on all five rats. They have been having successful playdates on Caitlyn's bed. She thinks that by the end of the week, she can move the babies into the big cage. The babies have been climbing on the big girls and grooming them and they are just chilling with that. Mouse's head tilt is slightly worse, so it's not very promising that it is an ear infection. :( I get so sad and angry that rats are the best pets and live such short lives. :brokenheart:
But it's not at that point yet, so I am not-- repeat not- going to jump to that.

I have a quiet morning here. I started working on groceries/meal planning. My parents are coming for lunch.
After that, I will try for the gazillionth time to do some scrapping. I did the Party Word Art challenge yesterday, scrapped a picture of Cait on her first b-day.

oh yeah, I keep forgetting-- it is Father's Day. Happy Father's Day to all of the dads! ♥

It's hard getting motivated when they are underfoot, right?
Sounds like you are getting everything ready for your trip. Do you leave tomorrow?

This made me giggle! 59° isn't that cold for me. Its a warm day.
Shushhhhh! :rotfl:
A dog kit-- sounds right up my alley. As if I don't have a bunch of them already but you can never have enough. I hope you have fun scrapping!

Trying to even read all the chatter is mind boggling. So here goes.
Do I need to break out the list of rules again? Remember, no need to keep up, only post what you can do with no stress. Stress is not allowed. At least in regards to responding to everyone. It would be impossible not to stress ever here. That would only create more stress. LOL

That is so cool that you got to see the deer in person and the bear on the cam. You must be having the best time with your new camera.
Nothing like dirty hands and the smell of fresh earth.
TRUTH!!!

Yes and yes. Ilene and I are planning to leave around noon. We will stop somewhere for lunch on the way out. We are all stopping midway for the night then finishing the trip on Tuesday. The others are not leaving until later in the day because of work. I did not want to be driving after dark.

@vickyday I hear you about getting things done with hubby around...I say you are practicing for his retirement when he will be in the way all the time...mine is anyway!!! Prepping for your trip is fun but overwhelming too. When is you leave? I forgot.

@faerywings you are one of the most supportive people I know. No wonder you are so good at what you do. Sorry the mouse it not recovering.

@AK_Tracy Dog kit---it's you!!!

@BrightEyes you sure have extremes when it comes to weather--super cold and super hot. You are sure getting allot of challenges done.

Well yesterday it was rainy and chilly so I spent the whole day in the trailer working on more campsites and visits to friends in VT. I also contacted many FL sisters to see how they are doing. My friend was over to check my plants but it is the rainy season so they are doing really well even if we shut off the irrigation for a day or so. She is picking figs and waiting for the pineapple.
No bears visited last night but off in the woods the doe went by with her baby...so cute.
I finished the basket I was making for granddaughter so just in time we are going to dinner together on Wednesday. I finished the book I was reading too. Today is another rainy one so I will scrap my last page for the MOnthly challenges.
Happy Fathers day to all the fathers...I thanked mine for giving me our two wonderful children and wonderful life that I have.
Happy Sunday Lady O's

Good morning everyone. Hope you have enjoyed the celebration here. I had hoped to join in but have been too busy. Between family, dogs, games, photo walks, jewelry design and chores, my days are full. I struggle with scrapping these days but don't want to give it up just yet. I'll keep trying to find a balance.

Father's Day is low key around here. We have company coming over this afternoon and then we'll have one of Ds fave dinner (shepherds pie) and watch a movie later.

Heading out tomorrow morning around noonish. I have to make the church bank deposit and do a few other things first. Then I will head to Ilene's and load her up and we will head out!

@BoatLady Debby, I was talking to hubs last night and he mentioned we had out first ever (state) heat advisory. Its issued more interior around Fairbanks. Its suppose to be in the 90°s next week
