uhhhhhhh, is it really July 6? It can't be (but it is).

How are you today? I am doing ok-- it rained and rained last night so my gardens are happy. It looks like it will be mostly dry the rest of the day. Please put dry in air-quotes because at 91% humidity, the air is almost as wet as the water. :p
Cait and I had a nice visit at my ILs and it was a relief to get out from behind my desk for a little while. I scrapped a page for @tanteva 's ketchup challenge-- that was hysterical. :rotfl:

*whispers*
But you see it? You do, right???
She is now out in the open, trying to kill me with ketchup.

I was LMBO as I was scrapping the page.

I am supposed to be at work for some training stuff later this afternoon. There's a skill share hike/walk and then sustainability training and a campfire.
I am planning on going but won't hike. If it's just a walk around the field, I should be ok if I watch where I am going and not going on the rocky trails.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

So how do you REALLY feel about ketchup??? I did take a cue from you and I did NOT put ketchup on my popcorn last night.
I spent the time I was up from 4:30 organizing and tagging my recent treasures. I took that cue from you, especially since I don't want to be that many behind and than have to "ketchup" so I figure, if @faerywings can squeeze it in, I should too. I am so abstract random in everything, but when it comes to scrapping, the librarian comes front and center because the anxiety builds when things aren't. It doesn't make me any faster LOL, but it keeps me calmer. I must say, scrapping from one kit is challenging for me because it's usually potpourri so there again, if I don't get la-zeeeeeeeee, I won't go cray-zeeeeeeee (I heard you say, too late, she already is.) Enjoy the training AND campfire, and yes, I can about imagine you 'just' walking around the field, do you have the self-discipline for that, the self I met of yourself seems like that self would push boundaries and not think about herself until that self-tweaked something.

@AK_Tracy I did get one layout done yesterday, I planned to have it done by noon and set a new record, but alas, I went down the rabbit hole and got stuck in a place called 'title'.

My sewing room got close to organized once and then it didn't and now it really isn't especially since I only go in these days to get a page out of the printer. I have to figure something out with time for quilting.

@Cherylndesigns Hope that bench gets put together this weekend so you can start to really enjoy it. Can't wait to see the layouts.

The sky is blue, I think, only seeing it every few days it's hard to remember. The garden is in really dire need of deadheading, the brush dump flooded again, but I MUST do the deed. Have lovely morning, evening and everything in betweening.

Good morning everyone - yesterday broke heat records here. 98 degrees with 106 heat index. We stayed indoors most of the day. Belle is here, and we bought her a kindle. She's a reading nut, so she's pretty excited! Today will be another indoor day, Mark already did some weed whacking (Yay that his shoulder tolerated it~) We're planning on BBQing some ribs, and if it's not ridiculous temp wise there's a community concert in town tonight. We might check that out. Other than that, I'm picking my outfit and getting everything ready for Monday. They've set up my station already, they said it's waiting for me. I'll have a laptop, so I ordered a mouse and pad to use. If they see me using that little finger scroll thing on the laptop they're going to wonder why they hired me! I have a small wacom I'll take too and we'll see what works better. I'm used to two - 32 " screens. We'll see how a tiny laptop screen goes! :giggle4: I am very excited about this new job. Can't wait to come back here and report on how the first day goes!

Other than that it's going to be a family day with reading, scrapping and watching TV. Oh and we still need to go get Ikes party hat and we'll have his party this evening. :partyhorn:

We've been watching a show called White Collar on Netflix. I don't usually get invested in the series Mark watches while I switch but this one is intriguing. Lots of plot twists, each episode stands alone with themes that run through all. If you're looking for something new I recommend this one.

@Celestine I've been meaning to tell you. We tried a ramp to get Ike up on the bed and it was a fail. I'm not sure if he'd do any better with a ramp at the car. I'll look around and see if it's worth getting one and trying. I can always return it.

@BrightEyes hows the flooding doing over there? Is it all over? Is everything back to normal? Hope you're resting well

@faerywings Hope your walk/hike goes OK this afternoon!

Hope you all have a good day!!

Hi, all... I decided to take a couple of days off and veg over the holiday. Well... I did scrap 1 LO and got it uploaded to the galleries... and I made 2 LOs for one of my designers... it will be released next week. And... let's see... I did bring my DVD inventory up-to-date yesterday and printed out the new version for my DVD notebook. Other than that, I did veg!!! :lol23: :rotfl::floorlaugh: I re-read a couple of Nora Roberts books and took a couple of naps. The fireworks were going off on the 3rd and the 4th until 11PM... UGH!! Then they had almost as many last evening. I managed to fall asleep any way. No rain the past couple of days here but other parts of the state are still getting it and flooding in the burn-scar areas. We have a break from the storms over the weekend but may be getting rains again starting Monday - Thursday.

Yesterday I was looking for something to fix for supper and discovered a small frozen tub of enchilada sauce and one of guacamole in the fridge-freezer... pulled it out to thaw and had that for supper last evening. It was oh, so good!! Have enough for dinner tonight! :claphands:And I have enough watermelon left for dessert. Whoo-whee.

DD#1 saw her ortho doc on Friday... the MRI shows that she has 2 broken toes and 4 torn tendons in her right foot. Good news is that they are starting to heal so looks like she won't have to have surgery on the foot. He gave her an arch-support to wear inside the boot to keep the tendons in the correct position for healing. Haven't heard any up-dates on Son-in-law#2 this week.

Need more :coffeedrinker:.... BBL

I am back! Scott had a quick work break and stopped in for coffee and to show us some of the photos from his camping trip this week. He and Sam set up the cutest campsite, complete with a kitchen/wash station next to a stream, fairy lights on the tent, the whole deal.

@mimes1 LOL at your why not to my MoB shoe dilemma! I started to look at Amazon for either navy blue ankle boots or some silver ones. There are a lot of options there that aren't pumps or sandals which might be a better way to go. My dress is floor length so who is going to see them anyway?

@tanteva I was going to wear black and purple flowered Docs with my dress for the shower but the length of the dress hit the top of my boot weird which is why I went with pink Converse instead. But ITA-- if I could get a cute pair of Docs to match my MoB dress, I would be happy and comfy!
*ponders*-- can you Bedazzle Docs?
:giggle4:

@vickyday Please be careful in this heat and humidity if you walk this weekend. And Mark too- it might feel a little cooler in the woods but make sure you all stay hydrated.

@Terri M How did David do at Habitat? I hope they took many water breaks and cut the day short if need be.
I don't understand how people of any age can treat nature like that- digging holes in a trail is inconsiderate on so many levels.
Good luck today in this heat while you do your trail work.

Craft ideas for the grands: Melt and pour soap or bath salts/scrubs. Lip glosses. Bath bombs would be fun to make but *not* if it is humid. Scratch that idea.
Are you looking for something outdoors or indoors, messy or time-killing?

@AK_Tracy Sounds like you had a nice day to relax a bit after having your great-niece keeping you busy for a few days. what, *only* 200 photos?? :rotfl:
One thing I miss so much about Saturn dealerships being out of business is bringing the car in for service. They had such a nice waiting area, with popcorn and a coffee machine. It was pleasant to sit and relax while you waited. They even washed your car as part of the service.

@Terri M Your book sounds fascinating! I'm going to keep my eyes open for it. I usually only borrow ebooks now so the selection on Libby isn't always the best I'm going to look for it. TFS!

@bcgal00 You sound very happy where you are in life and that is fantastic ♥
What is the Calgary Stampede and why would *anyone* want to go??? I am allergic to crowds, I think I would be miserable. But maybe it's one of those "gotta try it once" deals?

@Cherylndesigns What??? You went to Walmart on 4th of July???
:thud: Might as well go on Black Friday. eep.
Party Central is nice when you live next door and can walk home when you are ready to have some P&Q :D
hahah!! I remember the story of Steph's wedding but it sure is reassuring that it all works out in the end. And yup-- really, I could wear (should wear, possibly. Just kidding!) a bag on my head and no one would notice since all eyes are going to be on my gorgeous DD.

Tracy- NJ used to have pretty strict rules about what kinds of fireworks you could buy but the laws loosened up over the last few years. It's ridiculous how long and loud they are and Jaida freaks out big time. I feel horrible for people with PTSD.

@JeanneMN Your new avi is adorbs!
You are so funny, love your back-and-forth with your Twin. LOL!
We had sideways rain last night too- didn't Mother Nature hear me when I requested "steady rain?" She is so aggravated with humans at this point for sure. Can't say I blame her. :/

@FloridaGranny That could be me, I could be a "cool kid."

It rained last night. A good soft soaker. Sorry Chris, I got the slow steady rain you wanted. Didn't even hear it falling on the roof it was such a soft soaker.

I won't go cray-zeeeeeeee (I heard you say, too late, she already is.) Maybe they'll let you get monitors as you settle in. A laptop might just be the start and maybe they'll say what do you need and you can ask about bigger monitors the laptop can plug into. Cant wait to hear how amazing your new job is.
Other than that, I did veg!!! :lol23: :rotfl::floorlaugh:
Even when you Veg I feel wore out with all you did!!! Life goals, to be like Kay and busy living life.

Yep, just 200. My niece thought it was crazy that her mom took 100 photos in under ten minutes. I was like hello!!! We use to have a camera, film and limited what we took then wait for developing and so we are making up for lost time on photos. So I had to tell her how many I took and 100 didn't seem like that many to me. :floorlaugh:

@faerywings Silly, girl ANYthing can be beadazzled. When my back exploded 22 years, when I was finally able to go back to work, I used a care for a number of years. It was an hold brown wooden one, which wreaked havoc on my hand, but hubs spray painted it blue and then since beading was either a current or past hobby, I glued beads to it.

Good Morning all,
I have a numb, flat bottom from sitting and scanning the last couple of days! FB marketplace prep is rough on the bottom!
Too hot to go outside for me, so I have not been walking since Wednesday. Mark has been out and has come back in soaking wet from head to toe!
Cait and I had a nice visit at my ILs
Glad you had a nice visit with the ILs!
There's a skill share hike/walk and then sustainability training and a campfire.
Be careful if you walk!
We've been watching a show called White Collar on Netflix.
Gonna have to check this one out! But, I don't think we have Netflix, so maybe it will be somewhere else!
Can't wait to come back here and report on how the first day goes!

Sounds like you needed more than just a couple of naps! I got tired just reading all you were doing during your supposed vegging, LOL!
Please be careful in this heat and humidity if you walk this weekend. And Mark too- it might feel a little cooler in the woods but make sure you all stay hydrated.
I have only stepped outside to get the mail or let Asher out or hop in the car to go out to eat! Mark, however.....different story! He has his clothes hanging on a rack to dry out after he comes in.....dragging and exhausted!

Have a great weekend!

@AK_Tracy OMG, I thought the same thing the first time I used it and I think I deleted, but when I saw how this crew rolled, I figured they'd be OK with bellybuttons, they seem to be a fashion trend, everyone is wearing them.

@mimes1 I know what you mean about being spoiled by big monitors, I don't know how people scrap on laptops, the have better eyes and hand coordination than I do. I have a 27", but I have a little monitor envy, 2--32". You are going to rock that job, excited to hear how first day went.

@faerywings I don't know if I ever told you how SPECTACULAR Cait's dress is. It was on my ta-do list, but they don't always get ta-dun. As a devotee of EVERY country's Say Yes to the Dress, she definitely said YES to an incredible dress.

One little element at a time! That's how I roll with my laptop! Might also be why my layouts are more simple. Yeah probably not. I'm just a simple scrapper :floorlaugh: I look in awe at the artsy ones and think wow I should try that then never do cause I like my simple layouts. But I scrap on a laptop and its my normal so I have no idea I should have envy LOL
when I saw how this crew rolled, I figured they'd be OK with bellybuttons
Yep, the leftover lover thread totally made me leave my comment but it was crazy to type it and leave it :floorlaugh:

Not really in the mood to go to work. Its raining and dreary and my office is drafty. I just want to sit home with my feet up and read a book and scrap. But to work I will go. And be bored and chilled. Flannel weather. Hi Ho Hi Ho off to work I go. (whistle the song here) Hi Ho Hi Ho off to work we go. I need a grumpy dwarf to insert here :giggle4: Grumpy and Dopey were my favorites cause I am usually one or the other. Crazy dopey or grumpy. Off I go.Have a wonderful day!

Even starting trail work at 8:30 it was already over 80 degrees, by the time we finished about 10:00 it was close to 90. Sweat and sunscreen dripping into my eyes made them burn so bad! When I got home, several applications of eyedrops and a 15-minute nap has helped a lot. Fortunately, it appears our drought has kept the worst vines pretty much in control, and some Good Samaritan trail user already filled the hole. it should "only" get to 95 today but I still feel I've had enough outdoors. The poor grands from Seattle will certainly feel it when they get here...they were still wearing sweaters in the photos from Independence Day.

Thought I'd better show my face before I was kicked out.

Adrienne and I left this morning and went to run errands - I've created a Dollar Tree Monster in her. Ava, Aly and I LOVE that place, but she never really got into it. Braden is moving into his new apartment in August at the U of Arkansas and she needed a bunch of stuff. She was so thrilled to get a whole cart full of stuff and couldn't believe what all they had. Of course, I've been a devotee of the DT for years, so I could show her where everything was. BTW, Alyssa has decided she doesn't want to go to the U of Arkansas - never a dull moment here. She's going to go to the local University instead and stay home.

I typed this a long time ago and forgot to hit send. :rotfl::floorlaugh::lol23:

Hi all, beastly hot here in NJ. So horribly hot you need to be in the pool constantly, as you walk out you're already drying and hot already. I know we're in "good" company all over - stay cool everyone. :fan:

Terri, I've had such fun with Fuse Beads with all ages and stages from 3 year olds to adults! They are lots of fun, once my Mom had the whole family for her birthday and everyone was making one, it was funny.
Basically there are pegboards where you make designs using little hollow "beads". When finished and ADULT (haha) irons them and they become a flat piece. You can get sets with squares, circles, etc, or pegboards in actual shapes like animals.. With the shapes it doesn't matter if you make a design because it's already there, little ones like filling them in quilt-like. Also, with a large jar of all colors we all start looking what others need - nice cooperation and interactions!
I used Perler beads, they were the original, but I'd guess others would be fine? I just did a "fuse beads" search on Amazon, a lot came up. I have the large container of beads - it lasts forever but is definitely overkill. ;) Then you can buy some pegboards separately or alternatively you can buy kits with both the pegboards + beads together. Kids always love doing this activity and ask for it.
If you decide to try I can give you a few tips learned along the way. Whatever you do though, I know will be fun with those cuties!

Happy Sunday from HHH New Jersey!
(Hazy Hot and Humid in case you weren't sure. My guess is Tracy wouldn't have to know that acronym)

Can I :soapbox: please?
I. Am. So. Bored.
And I am over the top irritated at myself. My knee/leg is a million times better but I can only walk on flat surfaces. Just going downhill in my driveway hurt yesterday and I am mad at myself for being so stubborn. I *knew* I was going to hurt myself but naaaah, I can handle it. *rolls eyes at my stupidy*
The training session got cancelled yesterday so that worked out. The weather and air quality were at dangerous levels and only half of the staff could make it anyway.
I made it upstairs a couple of times but only one leg per step, not able to alternate just yet. Today I am going to walk as much as is comfortable in the house, focusing on posture and stride. Doing the stiff-legged-swing is making everything else hurt-- hip and ankle. The next thing is becoming a ball of inflamed pain. BTDT and would prefer not to do that again.
Bah, silly Faery. :(
*gingerly climbs off soapbox*

Yup. Bored out of my mind.

I did scrap a page for the July AJ challenge. Tagged a few things in ACDSee and in my Font organizer. I finally refilled my hummingbird feeder and made a mess of that. I have one that has the little cups and attaches to the window. I must not have attached the cap tight enough. When I pushed the suction cup to the window, the cup went flying and spilled the sugar water all over the window, me, my hair. I dripped the nectar on the kitchen floor so I had to sweep and mop. I was annoyed at myself all day.

Today is another one of Them. I have to work tomorrow- mandatory training day- so I'm going to alternate walking and stretching with resting. Ugh. I'll do some desk work as long as I am stuck here. Bill paying is really *not* what I want to do, as I listen to the ACs running non-stop. Cah-ching. Or in my checking account's case, it would be: Cah- chuuunnnngggg. *echo echo echo* Hahaha!

That's it. That's all I got today.

Hugs if you want them from a cranky Faery.

@JeanneMN (Thank you for not putting ketchup on your popcorn) I love your puns., BTW!
I was trying to figure out what appropriate tags I could use on Eva's ketchup word art and I didn't want to create a Profanity Category Tag so I ended up using "Food and Drinks."
I obviously have no self-discipline - the self you have met is the correct Self. :rotfl:
Were you able to get in the garden at all yesterday to do your deadheading?

@mimes1 I am so darn excited for you for work tomorrow. Sounds like you have everything under control and ready to go. As long as they have AC, you'll be in great shape for your first day.
I don't know how people can scrap on laptops. Sam uses her iPad and her phone together to do graphic work with the Cricut. How she flips between the two devices and on small screens is beyond my comprehension.
I watched a season or two of White Collar years ago, maybe that will be a good one when we are done with Suits. They feel similar to me, although I could be wrong/misremembering it.

@BrightEyes your vegging is like @bcgal00 's vegging!! :floorlaugh:
All of your food prep and freezing comes in handy, you must have been super excited when you saw the tubs in the freezer.
all good thoughts to your DD#1 foot healing quickly for her. Glad the doctor is making sure that the boot doesn't cause more trouble. (also BTDT)

@AK_Tracy Soft, cooling rain sounds lovely...

Thank you for the sweet words about Caitlyn's dress, wait until you see the front! It's so "her." ♥
Bwuahahah at your Minion gif!! You must have a folder just for them. :p

@vickyday Numb, flat bottom. :nod1: I am with ya. Any less humid for you? I bet it's been too hot to go on the bike.

Tracy, hope that work was ok for you and not too dull. Sorry that the rest of the US can't feel bad that you are cold. *winks*

@Terri M I'm thanking you on behalf of all hikers who don't realize how much work it can take to keep the trails clear. That's one of Scott's responsibilities as a Park Ranger and it is one thing dealing with fallen trees and another when it is because of people being inconsiderate.
Maybe-- *fingers and toes crossed here* by the time your grands come to visit the heat wave will be over.......
(nope, I am not buying that either)

@Cherylndesigns What?? Alyssa changed her mind about UA? Did that come out of the blue?
My busybody opinion is that is a good move. Caitlyn has worked with so many students on both sides of that decision and 99% of the time, it's a smarter, easier, and cheaper move to stay local. She can always transfer to U of AR or elsewhere in the future.
Good luck to both kids when they start the new semester.

@MariJ I bet you are thrilled to have membership to the town pool. I remember making things with those beads! That's such a cute idea for Terri

Stay cool my dears, and Tracy- hope you can get out of the flannels at some point soon

Dont feel bad that I am cold cause honestly it was more whine then anything. Its still high 50's and not cold cold. Just a light little flannel shirt and its almost too much. So yeah, dont feel bad. I feel bad you all have 80+ degrees cause I would cry. I appreciate A/C when I go somewhere and its hot but I dont really like it. I dont like freezing air blowing on me. Wish I could send you some of our cool weather but you wouldn't like the temps as they're your winter temps LOL

Okay, off and running. Trying to distract myself. Fasting today and this black coffee is yuck. I am not a fan of black coffee. If I can leave the house without eating it will all be good. No food then at church and not tempted by their coffee LOL

Good morning,

Quick in and out and then I can pop back in later. We're all going to Nancy's at 11:30, then back home, then golfing at 4. I can hardly wait to get back on the golf course again.

I'll be riding with Ava and she made me promise not to judge her. HA! I told her not to judge me. I have NO idea how I'll play - it's been a long time. I'm just looking forward to being outside, hearing the birds and hoping I don't have to yell "Fore!".

Chris @faerywings before I forget, we're not surprised that A changed her mind. She's a homebody and we just couldn't see her doing that right now. The local University is very nice and she already has friends there. She took college classes while she was still in HS and has most of her freshman credits done already.

I'm going to sign off now and get ready to go eat.

Well, it is a beautiful day... right now. Heading to high 90's and under a high wind warning for this evening and tomorrow... upwards of 60+mph gusts!!! Yikes... Good thing that I haven't moved the small end tables back beside the patio swing set.
I did veg a lot yesterday... Finished reading 1 book and am almost finished with another one. Called the base pharmacy and can pick up my refill Rx on Friday.

Sister called yesterday and we talked and worked on our great-grandfather's descendants list (on our father's side) together. She shared it with me several months ago so we can both be working on it at the same time. We found a few mistakes we are sure of and I added more to my immediate family marriages, children, grandchildren. One of our cousins want to have a family reunion next spring so the list will go to them and get their input for it. Got word that Son-in-law#2 is finally out of the hospital. Don't have any other details but that sounds promising.

I scrapped a LO this morning and have another one I want to work on later on today. I feel 'way behind' this month... only have 2 monthly challenge LOs done. Not sure what I did but the left arm/shoulder is stiff and I can barely lift the arm above the shoulder. guess lifting the full binders off of and back on the shelves (above my head) may have aggravated the torn rotator cuff. So will be back to doing the exercises for it again.

:lol23: at all of the cray-cray takes one-to-know-one commentary! Although I don't know what you are talking about, I am as sane and straight as narrow as can be.

@JeanneMN - please tell me you have a photo somewhere of your bejeweled cane!

No less humid...even with a bit of cooler temps! Definitely NOT bike weather for me, unfortunately!

YES! WE HAVE RAIN!!! Thank You, Lord!
Mark and I just spent about 15 minutes out on the deck listening to and watching the pouring rain! What a sight to behold! It has already soaked into the ground except for a few puddles in the driveway!

That's it. That's all I got today.

:gloomy::banghead::desk3::flyswatter:

Hugs if you want them from a cranky Faery.
:hug4:
I'm sure Tinkerbell had crabby days too, and the mood is always altered when we know there's no one to blame but me, mysef, & I. If I were going on hyper. drive like you all of the time, I'd be cranky too. And you are probably like a deflated balloon (emotionwise, I'm not body shaming), all of the build-up & planning for the shower, and now it's over. Hugs are known to help many ailments of the heart & soul and I do believe it's similar to Photoshop, the more layers you add the better it is. I'm sending lots & lots of layers of hugs, without annoying glitches. :grouphugyay: :grouphugyay: :grouphugyay: :grouphugyay: :grouphugyay: :grouphugyay: :grouphugyay: :grouphugyay:

I did get out & deadhead everything yesterday and it looks so much better. Instead of deadheading the petunias in the pots, I just gave these all the 10-cent haircut. The daylilies are just getting started so it's time for their photo shoot. The Joe Pye Weed is under the assumption it gets conjugal visits with the daylilies, so I pulled a bunch of that & sent it to solitary. One of the clematis isn't looking incredibly happy, but the soil it's planted in has a lot of clay and with all the rain we've had it could have root rot, nail fungus or athlete's foot or it's just cranky, mayhaps I need to go out and hug it. News at 11 tonight, woman tips over in garden while attempting to hug a plant, woman & plant taken transported to separate locations for observation. Woman muttering something about scraps?

I don't know if I have a picture of it or not Chris. I usually got it out of the viewfinder. I do have a fun picture from that era though that the cane, not pictured, but was mentioned in the paper.
Good morning,

Quick in and out and then I can pop back in later. We're all going to Nancy's at 11:30, then back home, then golfing moments." We had a clematis that "slept in." this Spring & hubs said, we had a clematis to replace. Yesterday when I was out I saw a clematis about 4" tall. I immediately thought, "Chris" not because your short, but because you get up later in the morning. I really hope your bench and totem got put in this weekend . I'm anxious to see it and your waterfall.at 4. I can hardly wait to get back on the golf course again.

Kay, so glad your sil is out of the hospital. I hope it's as encouraging as it sounds.
HA! I am more of a fan of 'Mayhem', but that Flo commercial is funny.

@mimes1 Amy, have a terrific first day at the new job.

And "hay" with the Gomer Pyle twang @AK_Tracy :smiliesdoingwave2: :smiliesdoingwave: :smiliesdoingwave2: :smiliesdoingwave:

Kay gets a sore shoulder because she's the Energizer Bunny, me, I get it patting myself on the back. I was so proud that I finished a LO before noon today. I went outside, 'doing the scrapper's strut', and helped hubs squirrel proof the tree in the garden. Yes, we put seatbelts on clematis and a squirrel Spanx on the tree. Squirrel Spanx are looser than people "Spanx". I came back in the house and went IDIOT, sure you finished before noon, you started at 4:30! Well, I went off on one of my blathering tangents again so I will sign off, that's the News and goodnight.
