You are all so wonderful!! I looked at all of the animal pictures and they made me smile a lot. Thank you!!
I survived yesterday and am planning on taking a mental day off today. Dirt Therapy. I need it.

Yesterday started out hectic and ended even more hectic. Drop off at the vet was fine, work was fine. Busy-- sure, but nothing I couldn't handle. I could drive to the vet with my eyes closed practically and my friend is on vacation so no one was in the house while I was there. Got home, showered (washed my hair and I must have had 10 bobby pins lost in it! LOL!!!!), grabbed lunch, and then tackled the ACDSee problem. Again. I still haven't heard back from the IT guy so I decided that I was going to delete the registry keys on my own. What was the worst that was going to happen, it was going to crash again? pfft.
I did that, forced it to recreate a new Database, and then restored it to an earlier backup point. Then I optimized the DB hoping that cleaning it up would keep it from crashing again. While that was running, Cait asked if I would drive her to pick up the babies. We get home, I make dinner. After dinner, I am just started to watch tv with Gary, PJs on, contacts out, feet up when she runs down asking me for help. Evie ripped out all of her glue and stitches. This is at 6.15 pm- she called the vet, they close at 6.30 but said for us to come as soon as we can. 5 minutes later I am dressed and in the car with Caitlyn racing up the mountain to get there quickly. Stuck behind sooooooo many people driving under the speed limit. normally, I don't let that get to me but if they decide to leave before we go there- that would mean going to the emergency place an hour and a half in the other direction that is also $$$$.
But we made it, the vet reglued her and bandaged her up, and hopefully, that will at least keep her from getting at the stitches. By the time we got back home I was so wound up, I ate so many Christmas cookies. (In reality, I only ate 4 but since I usually limit myself to 2 at a time, it felt like a lot LOL!!!)

Today I am heading out in the yard. I have some CT stuff I need to do here and that is going to be it. I need to get away from this desk and out of my brain for a while. I haven't seen my Toad Friend in a while so I am going to look for them. Definitely going to talk to the bees and tell them they are doing a great job on pollinating. *nods head*

Thanks again for putting up with my erratic moods. xoxo

@tanteva nope, at least I am not in the sink but Marten looks very cozy in there. Give him love from me. That second picture-- is that also Marten? Discord has a thinner face if I remember right?
I know what you mean about relaxing too soon with masks and such, makes me relieved that I have kept mine on for the most part. It has to be a weight off your shoulders about John getting his first dose.
Hope that knitting and TV were relaxing for you.

@taxed4ever How nice to see you!!! I have missed you but I am so darn glad knowing how happy you and your Gary must be with the g-kids. I am looking fwd to your stories and LOs when you have time.
The weather sounds brutal still. I wish I could send some of ours to you- it was 52* here this morning which is frigid for this time of year, Gary and are both in sweatshirts. I hope that it rains and cools off soon.
Have a great month ahead!!

@scrap-genie The wren is very cute- I love it!!

@felis- that is a gorgeous photo! Looks like he is waiting for you to bring him somewhere so he doesn't have to move on his own haha!

@Cherylndesigns My mood is much better after seeing all of these fantastic animal photos. None of my cats drank for faucets either but look at Sam!!

When Cait was inside the vet office last night, I had to wait in the car so we were texting. I saw a photo of manatees being fed sweet potatoes- I sent that to her to lift her up a bit, and Gary was sending me photos of a bunny in our yard. Aminal pics make the world better!

@nancyr The really bad storms stayed south of us, we only got some rain and thunder. I had said to Cait during one of the many car rides yesterday that the 12 tornadoes warnings in one day was a record for NJ but that I didn't know how many were confirmed. Holy moly-- 6!! That is bonkers. That is a weird dream but understandable :)
How is Shadow doing? any news from your vet?

better get rolling along. hugs!

Popping back in but it will be a quick in and out. The back was so bad yesterday, I had to stay in the recliner all day. Used the massager unit a couple of times to get some relief from the muscles spasms but they would start up again when I had to get up. The back is really sore today so it will be another PJ day spent in the recliner. I popped in to comment on the challenge I am hosting - then heading to the recliner.

@tanteva nope, at least I am not in the sink but Marten looks very cozy in there. Give him love from me. That second picture-- is that also Marten? Discord has a thinner face if I remember right?

No, the 2nd photo is Discord. They really look alike, Mårten is bigger, if I see both at the same time, it's easy to tell the difference. Discord has more white than Mårten & Mårten has a bit of brownish (cream?) color. The eyes have different colors & Mårten has a kinda sad look to his eyes, while Discord's are kinda perky. But if I see one of them sitting from behind, I can't tell the difference.

Work was easy today ... until the last 15 minutes when it seemed like EVERYONE needed to get to the library to do something. And we share an elevator with the hotel next door, and when I was trying to lock the door to the elevator - a whole bunch of people were going from the hotel lobby to their floors. And I need to get the elevator to our 2nd floor & open the door the be able to lock it. As soon as the elevator came - someone else pushed the botton on another floor. Drove me crazy ... LOL

Made pizza for dinner. I could eat zucchinipizza every day for the rest of my life & not complain. Got zucchini from a work mate, who has green fingers. I really need to learn gardening. The difference in taste from the store bought zucchini is HUGE.

Now I'm going to scrap a bit with a cup of tea. Later tonight knitting, popcorn and British crime. All my days look the same LOL

In case you need pets to cheer you up today as well ... just found this today when I was looking for a photo to scrap. This is taken the night Discord moved in with us. I dare you to find anything cuter than this!

Hello lovelies!

I finally have some time to myself! I love having company, but it's a lot of work. We took Asher back to Game Stop today. I think I told you all that one of the games he bought wasn't right and he got upset on the way home yesterday. We were almost home and on a deadline, so I promised I'd take him back today and spent another $21. UGH. So, Stephanie, Asher and I went into town, bought him another game, then went out to lunch. I was trying to show him where some things were and all I was getting was "uh-huh". I don't think he ever looked up from his phone. Kids and their devices. He had fun though - they just like to get in the car and go somewhere.

Talk about "the best laid plans of mice and men". All of us girls had a "girly function" to attend today, so Roger and Braden were taking Asher to the drag race. Our girly function got cancelled, so ENTER - ALL of us going to the drag race. If you blink twice, things get re-arranged around here. It's over 100 degrees here - we got some of that wretched heat from the West Coast!

We're cooking a family dinner for ALL of us tomorrow.

Chris @faerywings poor little baby tearing her stitches out. :( You were so lucky you got back to the vet before they closed. The emergency vets want your life savings to treat your animal! I'm so glad that our animal pictures helped elevate your mood and I truly hope that your dirty therapy helped.

Hugs to all.

Yay for Dirt Therapy!!!!!
[happy dancing emoji] *times a million*

I bet you are all relieved that I am not going off on a rant about how aggravated I am. It is ok to say it, I am too.
I spent almost three hours in the yard, I would have kept going but I wanted to get in the shower before I needed to think about dinner. My toad friend must have moved on to better gardening bags because I haven't seen them but I did see a few of the little teeny toads. And worms- enormous worms. So many really long worms. I don't talk to them because I know that they can't hear me. But they are good at what they do so I am careful to put them back in the dirt when I find them.

It has been so cold here that we haven't needed the AC on and I was able to do a really good job vacuuming. So the house looks a bit tidier and the yard looks a lot tidier. That helps my brain to stay calm(ish).
Some good news, both babies kept their bandages on and that means their skin is closer to being healed up before Cait goes on vacation on Tuesday. I am a bit nervous about having to take care of the rats- the babies b/c they are naughty and post-surgery and the big girls because they are very old. It is only for 4 days and I have done this before. *pumps myself up, I got this* The one year with Muffin and Clover- they were old and had huge inoperable tumors and I stressed about it every day she was gone but it was fine.

Not much happening here, I have some laundry, housework, figuring out dinners for the next few days. I started to scrap a page for a challenge and so far, *****knocks wood**** ACDSee is cooperating. I hope that whatever was acting up is fixed. Unfortunately, I did so many different things that I am not sure what helped/hurt/didn't make a difference. And no, in case you were wondering, I haven't heard from Support other than that one time.

HAGD!!!!

Kay- I am so sorry that your back is still spasming so much. Wish there was some way to help, but I guess the muscles just need to get it out of their system on ts own :(

@tanteva Your cats are such beauties! We had two b/w "cow print" cats that most people couldn't tell apart but when I would look at them I never had an issue, their faces looked completely different - to me. LOL!
a pet peeve of mine-- when people press the elevator buttons over and over like it is going to make them run faster. Pet peeve, even as I do it myself. ha!!!
I had a dream about harvesting a HUGE zucchini, which is funny since I am not growing them this year. Are you still watching Hinterland? We watched an episode last night.
Look at Baby Discord! He is so fluffy!!! <3

@Cherylndesigns Was Asher able to return the game?
A drag race?? How was that? Not sure if I would like that, we went to a motorcycle race years and years ago and all I remember is that it was too loud and I was young back then ;)
Please take some of the cold weather we are having, it feels like September here. boooooo
Have a wonderful time with the family BBQ!

Quick in and out again today. Back is still bad .... thank heavens for the Dr Scholl's massaging unit for the chair. I use it for 30 minutes at a time and that helps loosen the back muscles. Just wish the relief would last longer. Had to pop in to end the last month's CT stuff and start this month's. Off to head to the recliner again.

Talking about dreams....

I had the coolest one yesterday morning. I dreamt I was walking along an old withered path, with fields on both sides. I think it was wheat fields (or something like that). It was a dreamy light - like pure sunshine. All of a sudden I saw a dog coming running towards me on the path, and I realized it was Kim, the dog my parents had when I was a teenager, and a dog I walked like 2 million times. We both were so happy to see eachother again. And then I look up, and at the end of the path, in the distance, my father stood - waving at me.

I chose to believe it wasn't a normal dream, I chose to believe dad was out walking Kim, and decided to stop by and tell me he's fine and that he's together with Kim on the other side.

good evening - a beautiful weekend weather wise. Got in good walks. But Luther would not go on an afternoon walk with me. Today I tried early in the day and he still did not want to go. Oh well I cant make him walk. Got more scrapping done so that is good. Of course watching Olympics. There are some sports I have never seen before. The competitors on the BMX bikes and the tricks they do wow! Today one of the authors I like released her newest book. It was released at midnight so I read for a while. Now of course I am tired.

@faerywings Chris so glad that you got your dirt therapy. Hope the storms are not bad and that we just get rain. My DH mowed the lawns which always means rain. So sorry to hear about the baby pulling out the stitches. Glad the vet waited for you. Hope she is doing well know!

Kay I am so sorry about your back. That really is the pits! Glad you have that massaging pad. Hope it gets better soon.

@tanteva Eva that is really a nice dream!

@Cherylndesigns Cheryl boys and their toys. Glad you got the game situation fixed.

Waving to all!
