Wow. Yesterday was a total bust for me. I swear I got nothing accomplished. I guess I did get some stuff done, but I felt like a ping pong ball. All over the place. Now-- if it was beer pong, at least I could have gotten a bit of a buzz... :p But no, it was just one of those days.

Today I am buckling down and am going to get my butt in gear.
My IL's *might* be coming up today or tomorrow. I still don't know. My MIL's cat is very sick and had to stay over at the animal hospital, so a lot depends on how he is doing. His sister was put down last Friday, so it isn't a great situation. :(

Thank you all so much for the great compliments on Cait's quilt, she is so dang creative!

So what are all of your plans for this weekend? Good fun stuff and lots of "west and welaxation" I hope!

xoxoxo and will be back for personals in a bit!

Good morning ladies. Crazy here (as always)! My aunt died of colon cancer on Thursday. She was 2 days shy of her 59th birthday...way too young. Went to visitation last night.

Her oldest son is one of my favorite cousins. I hadn't seen him in 10 years...long story...he had a falling out with his family and it took his mom's illness to bring him home about 4 months ago. Anyway, the moment we saw each other the 10 years vanished and it was like we had never been apart. So that part was good. But the funeral will be very hard I know. I'm really worried about my uncle. He is going to be lost.

Then, this afternoon, we have a national gymnastics meet in Des Moines so I'm going to take Sydney to see some "real" gymnasts. That should be fun. And I hope to unwind a little bit tonight with some scrapping time!

It's the weekend! YAY!
I had a productive and fun day on Friday. Jenna and I got up, she got on her bike and did 10 or 12 miles. When she got home we cleaned up all the garbage that Mr. Wonderful threw out the windows we removed the day before. We hauled all that to our burn pit and reclaimed the lawn. Then it was upstairs to clean up more plaster mess and fallen insulation. It's finally starting to look a little more like a house rather than a construction zone. After our cleaning we headed to town for a bit of shopping. I got myself a new 1T external hard drive! I'm so excited! We also did some bargain clothes and shoe shopping. Most expensive thing we bought was $6! It was fun to get to just walk around the mall and look in the stores with her!
Today I'm hoping to get out in the garden a bit, not sure what else is on the agenda. Have a wonderful weekend O's!
Chris - I totally know the feeling of the ping pong ball! Hope today is better for you. The quilt is too cool!
LindaS - I'm so jealous - would love to go to DesMoines and see the gymnastics meet with you. I used to coach our high school team and love to see it done right!

Hi Ladies!

I know I've been MIA quite a bit. I've just been trying to keep up with my class and the family. Things slow down a little bit until next week when the big assignment is due. But it's an assignment I enjoy grading, so that's good. =)

Linda S - I'm so sorry the funeral was hard. Even when you know things are coming, you are never prepared for it. Big hugs honey.

Linda P. - I'm so glad to see you here again. =) I love shopping. Especially when the most expensive thing is $6! =) When do you start school? We go back officially on Aug. 12th, but I, of course, will be back plenty before then.

What else did I miss around here? Any big news from anyone? How are all the regulars?

Not sure what's on the agenda for today. Perhaps cleaning some things out. Apparently, we're back in the "can't do anything for moving until the house is completely ready" mode. This cycle is getting old.

Have a good weekend girls!

Sara - we have work days August 10 and 11, Frosh orientation the 16th, inservice 18-20 or something like that then the gremlins come back for their first day on the 24th. I'm not ready at all!

Happy Saturday everyone!! I meant to hop in here last night but DH and I went out to eat and rode around a bit then I came home and played with the newest member of our family.....as yet unnamed.....a darling little tortoiseshell kitty, she is a beauty with long hair and green eyes. I'll have to snap some pics later. She's Amanda's kitty...a few yrs back she had a Maine coon tortie named Kali and another cat named Xander, well thanks to me they both got Feline Infectious Peritonitis and got very sick and had to be put down :(. This new little kitty looks a lot like Kali and is sooo sweet!

It was my fault her cats got sick, I had fallen in love with a Himalayan at a local shelter and she was unknowingly pregnant, I found out after I brought her home. She was also a little diva *itch who bullied my precious Sassy but I couldn't take her back to the shelter and worry about her and the babies so I kept her until they were born and old enough to give away. I didn't know about the FIP until Kali, then Xander (he was one of the kittens) got sick. Luckily, Sassy didn't contract it, it usually affects young cats and older cats and she was in the middle and didn't go anywhere near any of them really. I just hope that the other kittens and mama didn't make any other pets sick :(.

Anyway, this kitty is a blessing...I was walking into work yesterday and there was this darling sign posted with a photo of the kitty and explanations about what a tortie is LOL, this sweet elderly lady had her and just had too many cats. She had already spent $200 on her at the vet with shots and everything, she's 11 wks old. She just happened to be coming to our town to visit a nursing home and brought the kitty to Amanda who immediately fell in love :). I'm so happy she has a little pet to love now, hopefully it will make her happier :).

Anyhow, that's the story of Amanda's kitties.....LOL.

Good Morning!! Well almost Afternoon!!

DD and I have been to a couple of yardsales, and had to pick up some awesome finds on CraigsList!! I got a brand new pack and play for my house for $20....and she got a Little Tykes (The big one with the Shelves) for $20....and the girl had one of the Little Tykes Kitchen sets...THE REALLY BIG one that sells for close to $500 for $100....I got it for Traci's kids....they will love it!!! and it came with ALL the accesssories she had bought for it. I was really just enjoying the time with Sharon....we don't get to spend much "girl" time together anymore....and since the baby will be here in ...uuhhhmmm...about 35 days....guess...it will be even less :(

Cameran and I went to the Transportation Museum yesterday...he really loved it...especially the old trains! They had a lot of hands on stuff too and the biggest Lionel Train Set...they had built a huge Mountain with the trains running through them and all around the setups....MY FAV...was the Traveling Circus displays!! I can remember this from when I was very little...one of the big things was when the trains brought the circus into town...everyone would go watch them come in...and then later their would be a parade downtown with all the animals....and before my time the original...BIG TOP TENTS! It was really amazing to see their minature setup....I hadn't been to the Museum in years....It had Old cars...Buses...Bycycles....the works....The aviation section was closed due to storm damage....

I have photos posted on my FB if anyone is interested.

The rest of the weekend is up in the air....

so now for some personals...

Today will be fun...DH and I are going to see "Orphan" I loooove scary movies and the ones with evil kids are soooo fun :). Next wk I'm taking Amanda to see "The Ugly Truth" it looks soooo cute, and Gerard Butler is a hottie ;). DH and I are also going tire shopping for my SUV yuck. So that's my day, oh, and groceries double yuck LOL!!!

Some personals...

Chris-again, I am soooo excited about Cait's quilt, she has quite a talent. We have a big quilt show here in Paducah, KY every yr in April, wish she could enter...that would be soooo awesome! There are great prizes, the main one is $10,000 I believe. People come from all over the world for it.
WOW, the Lyme thing is even bigger than I realized, I didn't know it could be transmitted in those ways. What a horrible thing you all have to deal with everyday :(. It amazes me so much how positive you stay. (((((hugs))))) Oh, and Davy is doing fine now, LOL, had to be allergies...speaking of which, my poor Sassy's eyes, she is part Siamese and has the pretty blue eyes, her allergies are awful right now :( she hates me cause I keep coming at her with eye drops...poor baby.

Sandra-poor little Matthew, hope he gets to feeling better quickly! How's little Piper doing? Is your job going ok?

LindaW-OMGosh! (((((HUGS))))) I know firsthand the kind of pain that comes from family tensions like these, I was the butt of all kinds of stuff when my inlaws were alive...especially living next door to them, ugh. DH had 4 sisters, 2 left now, and they were always causing problems between me and him and the inlaws. We ended up just telling them to not call or come by until they could straighten up :( it was sad but it was the only way we could have peace between us. I hope things work out ok for you and your family, life's too short for crap like that! Love ya, girlfriend :).

LindaP-my Heavens! Your busyness makes me tired, LOL!!! You must have quite a lot of energy....I have none, LOL, either that or maybe I'm just lazy cause outside of work I barely want to do anything, hehehe.

Hi ME! Did you like the movie? I loved that one although it was quite long LOL.

Clara-That's very interesting about shellfish! I had no idea! Just awful about the PX shooting, so glad you weren't there then! oooh, and thank you soooooo much for the horse pics, I will be using those for sure!

Clare-Hi there!

Everyone have a lovely day! I loooooove you all :) and will be back later in the day or tomorrow to check in :). mwwwaahhh

ahhh ahhh ahhhh I am losing my mind! Can someone help me find it?????????????????

I tried to decribe my brain as being "past scrambled eggs- more like some left over burnt bits in the pan"
I don't think that even comes close ATM!
Then I told my neighbor that "I can't even remember *tomorrow*"

Matthew is doing okay... you'd never know he's sick except for the fever and frequent pull-up changes... his temp this morning was 101.4 and my pediatrician's office said if he still has it in the morning to call them... as for Piper, she's great... yesterday we got to leave the neosporin off and no bandaids... good thing... the bandaids were causing redness and soreness on her little face... job is great... it's like I never left!

Ok...so I did not get much sleep last night....Cameran and Jesse both spent the night...neither one wanted to sleep in their beds....they wanted to sleep with us....uuhhhmmmm...just not enough room for two more!! I was tempted to bring Jaiden over too...when I picked up Jesse, she was just smiling and waving and say Na Na....so sweet....the boys didn't say Nana for a LONG LONG time...they could say everything else...especially PawPaw....but she is 11 mos...and she started saying it about a month ago!! SWEET!!!

We are going out later to play with super soakers....LOL...DH found the two we bought at the end of the summer year before last (orignally $10/ea and we got them for $1/ea)...and forgot they were there!!!! So these boys are gonna get wet today!!!

That's our exciting weekend....

Ok, I am here, feeling much more settled than yesterday. My brain sometimes just flips out on my. Its odd, and most likely due to Lyme, since my joints were acting us as well.
Add in the confusion of a messy house and wacky plans for the day, I was a mess LOL

I never made it back for personals so I am going to give that a shot now!

Linda S- I am so sorry to hear of your aunts passing, My thoughts are with you.
I am so happy that you were able to find a silver lining in seeing your cousin again!
How was the gymnastic meet?

Linda P- I give you so much credit for staying so calm with your house under construction. I did that a few times, and it is not easy.
Great job on the shopping!

Sara- good to see ya! The summer seems to be flying by!

Dawn- good to hear that Davy is better. Mom brought Tigger home yesterday and he is not doing well at all. He has to be confined, syringe fed and is now blind. And they don't know why. Mom is giving him until Monday to see how he does. If there is no improvement, she is going to have to have him put down as well. So heart breaking :(

And I see you have a new family fur baby!!! That always helps anyone's mood!!
Can't wait to see pics!!!

Linda W- you are sooo like my mom!!! She would do anything for my kids too.

**ooh, coffee is beeping, BRB with a big fresh pot for everyone*

Ok, here you go- coffee, tea, and coca cola for everyone!

Linda W- great yard sale scores too! I'll have to check your FB pics!
My mom is funny- I think that she wants time with just me, but also wants time with the kids too. Makes her not sure what to do LOL
Thankfully, we ended up having a really nice afternoon, which I'll blab about in a bit.

Dawn M- How was the movie? I don't watch horror movies any more. Not sure why, loved them as a teen.
I had no idea who Gerald Butler was, so I googled him  mm mmm!

Linda W- good advice! I hate that it is hard for me to take it, to give myself permission to do nothing, its really hard. I got most of downstairs cleaned and dusted, just need to mop the floors. That is not goign to happen today it is way too humid, they will never dry. (yes, we are finally getting normal NJ summer weather- hot and humid. And I am not able to get to the lake!)

Sandra- how is your little man feeling today? Hope he is better. And glad Piper is doing good too!

So fun to hear about Legos. I am glad we are past that stage! LOL I love them, they are fun for the kids, but I was getting tired of vacuuming up the pieces :)

Have a fun day with the g-kids and super soakers!

I think I am all caught up.
Love to you all!

And here is my stor from yesterday and a partial explanation of my insanity.
Background on me, in case you haven't figured it out. ;) I like things in order. Not so great with super-spontaneous. Actually spontaneous is great, it is the "up in the air" I'm not good with.

Friday and Saturday were supposed to be Garage Sale days at my mom's. But between weather and her kitchen remodel, that went out.

My IL's and my family were trying to get together for a BBQ at our house on Sunday, then it was Sat, then it was the cat is sick and you'll have to come here. My mom wanted to come up and see the kids, but I didn't know when for her, since I didn't know when for m y IL's.

We decided to go to my IL's Sunday. I invited my Mom up yesterday but then she said she had to be at my brothers at 6:30 for dinner. They both live 45-60 minutes away from us. So that was just crazy!

I did what any crazy person would do and invited everyone here.
Finally my brother called, my dad had to go to church and couldn't make it here. But since my mom and dad are fighting (they aren't good w/ confusion either and the kitchen being ripped apart is making them a bit nutty -- hey, at least I know where I get it from LOLOL), my brother and I cam up with a great plan.... my mom came up here and stayed for dinner, and my dad hung out with my brother.
P&Q for everyone

My mom comes up here arounf 1:30 and wants to do something to get the kids out of the house. Not going to bore you w/ details (hahahahah too late!) but trying to get a 10 yo girls and a 13 yo boy to agree on something.... ugh....

Cait wanted to go to the mall, and Scott likes Hot Topic so we somehow managed to get them to agree on that.

We get to the mall, and there is this awesome and expensive "rock star" type clothing store that I love to look around in, though the kids would like to look. As we walk in, one of the salesmen sees my tats and says that they are having a tattoo shop put in in the next couple of weeks. We talk ink a bit. I go back to see what my kids arelooking at etc. The guy and I talk a bit. He says that I look way to young to have kids that old. I tell him I am 41. he says I look like I am in my 20's.

Woo hoo! That made my day! He also tells me I looked good, and that my husband better be happy about that.;)
I agreed and said that if he didn't I'd have to kick his a$$

Then as my kids are picking out the t-shirts that they wanted to get, Scott comes up to me, and kinda steps in front of me.
He says to the guy, "She's married, you know."

OMG- I was cracking up so hard!!! We all were.
I told Scott later how I appreciated him protecting me :)

The kids got a t-shirt each from Grandma, the guy gave my mom a great discount, and I got an awesome compliment!

Not a bad afternoon out.:D

Chris - What a fun story. =) Don't you love it when guys make you feel special? Even if your son felt he needed to protect you, it's sometimes really nice to have a guy other than your husband make you feel good. =)

Linda P. - I'm a little jealous. We go back on the 12th and have two inservice days and the kids come on the 14th. It's always been that way. The first day is filled with meetings too. So you basically get one paid day to put your stuff in order. Of course, everyone spends like the week before in their rooms unpaid. We are so over on required hours it's ridiculous. I'm hoping a new Superintendent will change that. I do think it's a little odd we haven't even gotten so much as an email from our new Superintendent yet. I know the administrators are supposed to be on vaccation during July, but still....oh well. I'm sure some packet will come soon.

Dawn - She sounds like a cute kitty. I'm not so much a cat person, but I can appreciate how much others like them. I get so mad when people are dumb about animals. We had a man and a woman where I teach have 42 cats removed and their house declared uninhabitable. And more cats got away. All but like four of them had to be put down. It's just ridiculous to let things get that out of control. How was the movie? And groceries? hee hee

Linda W - What good finds. I love getting good deals like that. Whenever we move, I'm going to be looking at Craigslist for playsets. =) The transportation museum sounds AWESOME. =)

Sandra - Hope Matthew is feeling better and Piper too. Glad your job is going well. When I was in Chicago, I went to the Lego store. And I had this huge debate with myself about the toy I was going to buy Ben. I couldn't decide between the cool set that was big (hard to get home in a van of 10 people) and had lots of pieces (lots to pick up) or a little set that wasn't as much fun. I opted for the small one, more than anything because of space in the van. =) So Ben now has a little Lego tractor.

DH ended up going into work yesterday and Ben and I went out to the lake for several hours. We sat and threw stones and sat by the water, walked the trail, and just hung out, it was really nice, but it wiped me out. When we got home, I just plopped down for a while. DH brought really good gyros home, which was nice. Than I picked up my friend at the airport and went for a quick drink before I took her home. I should get the house cleaned today, but I know the weather is going to be fantastic. So I'm kinda hoping we do something fun. I also might run up to the town where I teach because one of my former students passed away. She was a sophomore and the sweetest girl ever. She had a few physical problems and was a SPED student. They think she might have had a heart defect, but the autopsy was inconclusive. If they decide to pursue a cause of death the visitation and everything will be postponed. She just was such a bright, smiley girl. She was always happy. It's so sad.

O.k. all. I'm going to get moving. Have a great day everyone!

good afternoon! we've been back from the ER for about 3 hours... Piper's stitches are gone... although the first one that was put in was a little tighter than the last 2... so they couldn't get it out with regular scissors and had to use a small blade to cut the thread... Piper said it hurt quite a bit, but she didn't cry... the other 2 she said didn't hurt much... then they gave her a grape popsicle which was cool...

Matthew's still having potty issues, but he didn't have a fever the last time I checked... he's napping now... but he did throw up just after Piper and I left this morning... I think maybe his stomach is just irritated because that's the only time he's thrown up...

so the rest of my day will just be doing laundry and straightening up around the house... I need to get Will doing some of his summer work in a bit... hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday!

Only until Thursday when he takes his first plane ride all by himself to go to Cleveland to see his grandparents' (DH's). Today we are meeting up with my parents for lunch. yummy!! I love free food. Well, I am off. I hope I don't melt today. If you don't see me tomorrow you'll know I melted into a puddle. ciao ladies!!

That is toooo cute!

well Matthew's had a fever today... 3rd day in a row, so we're off to the pediatrician in the morning to see what's up... so I'm off work in the morning, and Gabe's going to come home by 1:00 so I can go into work for a few hours... so... that's the way my day is ending *sigh*
