It's the weekend!
lemme tell you, it was *very* nice waking up and not feeling like I had to get right out of bed. Good thing, too, because I was cold. For real-- we had the windows open and the temps had dropped overnight. I had snuggled up with Whisky, who was keeping my feet warm.

We were with my ILs all day and in spite of doing nothing but sitting/eating/chatting, I was exhausted by the time we got back here. We dropped the car off at 10 and they told Gary they would call back in a couple of hours. They called at 1 and said they still hadn't figured out what was wrong. Cait and I were trying not to panic because we each needed our cars. Finally, they figured it out and we picked it up around 4. It all worked out. Whew!
MIL had found some large paper pads and some photo books that I can use with the kids, plus a corkboard and small rugs that didn't fit in their bathrooms. I am heading over there tomorrow to drop everything off.

Anne called for a few last-minute questions needed for the state camp license and Dept of Health clearance, and we are good to go. I am working with three different interns each day -- that might be fun. Or difficult. We'll see. I had my first dream about it last night, too. That really makes it official! :rotfl:
Today: Finish all my prep, pack supplies up to bring to work tomorrow. Prep my AJ challenge for next week. If I can get all of that done, work in the yard. It is going to be a perfect day to be out there.
Oh yeah, I want to collect some samples of moss for one one the camp topics. We have plenty of that in the side of my house.

What about you, who has some awesome plans this weekend?

Hope we have less humidity today, too!
Your supper sounds delicious! Ought to be good after 2 hours prep! :bowdown3:
I hope your weather is as perfect as ours is today!
I was thrilled that we had leftovers for dinner last night, I did NOT want to cook hahah!
I was feeling it by last night, LOL! I still need to run to Wild Birds Unlimited today. Didn't make it there yesterday.
Not surprised at all! Did you make it to Wild Birds Unlimited? Tom got me a GC there for my b-day and there is one between my parents' house and my brother's and I wanted to stop when I was there last week. Unfortunately, I was not in any state of mind to wander through.
Booked a hotel for one night for our trip to FL next month. My daughter invited us to spend several days with them at Cape San Blas. So we will split the trip in half and stay the night in GA. Looking forward to spending the time with my daughter and her family.
Fantastic!! So fun!

Looks like it was just us in here yesterday.
Hope everyone else is doing awesome!

We are at our friends house in VT parked in their driveway...dang it's chilly up here so far today, we put the heat on for a few minutes. I guess I have become a real Floridian!!!
Yesterday we went to Queeche Gorge...so beautiful, then lunch at a glass blowing shop- Simon Pearce then went to watch them blowing some glass....I love it. Pics on FB. We got back in time to get ready for a small gathering of their local friends-one couple we know from Florida so it was good to see them up here. We have not made any final plans yet for today but we are going to get Maple Creemee's---maple ice cream-- for sure it is our tradition with them.

@faerywings I hope you can take it easy a little this weekend, you are always doing something for work.

@vickyday Good to get hotel reservations as it's always crazy getting one at the last minute. Enjoy your time in Florida, the panhandle is very beautiful so it will be great photos for scrapping.

Enjoy your weekend fellow scrappers.

So glad the car is back and fixed! Sounds like you had a good day with the ILs!

Can't believe it was so quiet in here yesterday!
I did make it to Wild Birds Unlimited. For the $75 deal they were having at "my store" I got a 20# bag of the Fiery Feast. Normal price is $82.99. With my membership of 15% discount I got another $12.45 off plus I had $10 Bird Bucks from previous purchases. So I got the bag of bird seed for $64.63 after tax. Plus I got a $20 Pepper No-Mess Cylinder for free! Mark says as much as I pay for the food that it wasn't free! HA! It is quality food and I am willing to pay extra to keep the squirrels out of it!
Normally, the 8# bags cost $42.99 and I pay $36.54. So, to me, I'm getting about 4# "free" with the 20# bag! Or you can look at it a different way.....per #.....The 20# bag with my discount ($70.54) is $3.53/lb. The 8# bag with my discount ($36.54) is $4.57/lb. So, I'm basically saving $20 buying the 20# bag!
Math class is over! :lol23:

Good morning,
DH is in the woods with a friend. I've been scrapping and getting my challenge page for August worked up this morning.
No other plans today. I should do some laundry, but I think I'm going to do some veggie chopping for another batch of the cucumber, peppers, cherry tomatoes and onions with the sugar/oil/vinegar dressing for the hubs.
After that we shall see!
I did make it to the Wild Birds Unlimited store yesterday after Mark and I went to lunch! See this post to Chris for my deal.
Have a great day!

Quick in and out this morning. DD#1 came back to my house yesterday afternoon. She is alternating between here and her son's house - depending on when he has appointments. Looks like she will be staying until early August. We fixed a pineapple/Canadian bacon pizza for supper... then watched DVD "Fiddler On the Roof". I forgot how long it was but enjoyed spending the evening together. We even indulged with Cherry/Chocolate Ice Cream dessert during the intermission. :D

I did make it over to the other Library yesterday only to discover their Used Book store is only opened Tues-Wed-Thurs 9 to noon. Found a few books to check out so it wasn't a completely wasted trip. Stopped at the Friends of Literacy Used Book/DVD store on the way home and bought 8 DVDs (4 of them still in the security wrappers). DD#1 and I have picked out the next 3-4 DVDs we want to watch. :floorlaugh: We are enjoying just kicking back and relaxing in the evenings together.

I need to get a new tension rod for the bathroom window. The one in there has fallen down twice this last week. Since it is over 6 years old, it isn't surprising the spring in it is failing. It is over a glass blocks window and gets really hot in the afternoons. The curtains on it are heat reducing sheers and they cut the heat by 10*-15* degrees in that room. With the temps in the high 90's, I really need the curtains back up.

@faerywings Glad the dealership finally found the problem and Cait's car is fixed. Nice that you could spend the day with the folks, too. Saw the ad for the camp on FB.... looks great!

I hear DD stirring so need to sign off for now. BBL

On Thursday we didn't have a flood watch! The first time in weeks. But no fear, yesterday there was, and today there is. The ground is just so saturated that the weather service figures any thunderstorm could cause a flood, and there have been storms consistently this summer.
My herb garden is going great guns, and I'm enjoying so much cooking with fresh herbs. Lots of basil and parsley, I wish I could get cilantro to grow for more than 3 days; I use it a lot but I have to buy it. Yesterday I had pho for lunch with a huge delicious handful of thai basil. Today I'll be roasting chicken with my tarragon.

Oooh!! I was expecting my new computer to be delivered on Tuesday and the UPS truck just dropped it off! I guess I'll be setting that up today! Sorry, ladies, I'm off to check out new hardware!

Yeah @Terri M One day off from flood watch is not enough so I hope your rainy spell stops very soon. I agree cooking with fresh herbs is wonderful I miss mine. I did dehydrate some before I left Florida but they are running out.

We had a fun day today again. We sat out on the patio having coffee with our friends then we made a quick little lunch. After that we had a nice ride in the Green mountains to go get a famous Maple Creemee ice cream and got some spicy hot infused maple syrup for our son and of course a bag of maple candy to share with everyone. Then over to another friends camp for wine overlooking the lake so pretty. We left there to go to dinner a a great old restaurant here in Stockbridge VT. Tomorrow we leave so I did some cleaning up in the trailer.

I AM SO DONE!! :thud:
:bawling:

Honestly. The stress is going to kill me. I thought I was going to have a heart attack before dinner with my POTS symptoms all over the place.
Yesterday was rough enough with the construction and patio issues. They started on Thursday and Gary was unhappy with how they started. There was a problem with the height of the steps. (They also left the bag of garbage on the side of the house which ordinarily, no biggie. Except it had food garbage in it, and the bear got at it.) The contractor came over first thing yesterday, went over Gary's concerns and they are redoing the steps.
I finished all of the prep for camp and went outside to do a little yard work. That was awesome and relaxing until Gary came running out of the house with a propane bottle on fire. Cait had made vegan crème brûlée and Gary was using his torch for the sugar. The nozzle must have been leaking and it caught fire. Cait and I are running around for buckets of water-- which of course we can't find because everything is moved off the patio and into the back yard. He grabs the fire extinguisher and puts it out.
The second crisis is over.

I am cooking dinner when Gary runs out to the store (TJ MAXX to look for a food torch) and within a few minutes, he comes back in to give me the freaking fantastic news that my car is not drivable. The wheel isn't right. Not the tire, but the wheel. He gets under the car and the thingie that connects the steering to the wheel itself is snapped right off. Of course, the shop is closed for the weekend, I *cannot* take off work this week, and my mind and bank account are flipping out.
I wasn't paying attention and when I reached up to take the frying pan off the hanging rack, I knocked two stainless steel (All Clad from my previous life when we weren't broke) large frying pans down and onto both of my bare feet. My left foot-- where I am still sore and swollen from the break-- got it the worst and is even more sore and swollen. I iced it so the bruising is minimal but it hurts.

At this point, I am in tears. I really can't take it. Gary has been wanting to get a second car since I started working but there is no $. Any extra cash we might have scraped together is paying for part of the patio,m the rest is going on the credit cards. My dad is thinking about not driving as much and I know I am slated to get his car when he does. BUT-- what am I supposed to say? Give me your car now? Of course not!
We have Monday's car switching taken care of. Tom is going to drive Caitlyn to work and her friend will drive her home. Tuesday-Friday, not a clue. Tom is off on Tuesday, and if he doesn't have plans, I can ask if he will drive/pick up. Scott and Sam are away on their camping trip until Thursday so I can't ask either of them. No Ubers or Lyfts in my town either.

Really, I am so done.....

I don't even have it in me to fake it.

Wishing all of you a fantastic day!

@faerywings So sorry for all your troubles, it will all work out and you will laugh about it one day. FYI most people play "musical chairs" but you are so special you play "musical cars" LOL I sure hope the car thing works out. It seems to me that your car should be able to be fixed instead of replaced for less money. So glad your fire got put out safely with no one hurt.
Try to take it easy today so that the swelling and soreness in your re-injured foot can heal a little cause it sounds like you will have another busy work week.

We are heading to NH today we will be meeting up with one of Jay's old bosses at Lake Winnipesaukee where he has a cabin overlooking the lake. It's so beautiful there so this should be fun. We will be in that area a few days so I hope we can have a chill day as we have been running around and so busy for the last 3 weeks.

A big happy sunday to all the O-Ladies

Our storms must leave us here in NC and head straight to you! Everything is good and moist here also. So humid the grass doesn't even dry out completely and clumps when DH mows! It's nice and green however!

We visited Stockbridge on one of our New England trips many years ago. Don't even remember if we were just passing through or what we did.

You are going to have one fantastic scrapbook of your trip! I hope you are keeping a journal!

Good morning,
Quick in and out before getting my shower for church.
Still working on bike page redos. Will work on more this afternoon after I do my grocery order and in between loads of laundry.
Did get my August challenge example page done yesterday.
Gotta go.
Have a great day

@faerywings Hugs and hope things work out. So stressful.

I'm off to an artisan market for the day. Yesterday was spent at a rodeo. Monday will be my day of chores and relaxing at home. Our internet has been up and down since Thursday. Apparently the service guys are working on our neighborhood hub so I really hope this is a one and done thing. I don't want to deal with crashing internet all the time. Fingers crossed. Started a good netflix limited series "Untamed". Watched the first 3 last night.

Gotta go. HAGD everyone.
