TGIF!
Good-bye to September.

I am not all that sad to see this month come to an end. Now I just have to get my "happy face" on for October. How is this one? :becky:
As much as i despise cold weather, I do love me some Halloween. I have slowly been bringing down boxes of decorations for Oct, now I just need to find my kids to help me.

Blood work went well yesterday. whew-- the last time I went to this lab in June, the woman destroyed my arm- I had a bruise that was at least 6" long, and hurt like the devil.
Food shopping was totally depressing, $122 for nothing.... a pack of ground beef and cat/dog food were the big purchases... SMH....

Today i am off to work at MIL's to get ready for the big party down there tomorrow.
Gotta post (guess who is here?? Catzilla!!!!!)

Morning folks, yesterday afternoon I lost my voice. have been feeling a little under the weather with the crud--congestion, sinus--and then the voice went. Still not there. I have to follow up with the foot doctor this morning. Think I'll ask him to prescribe me something--afterall, this infection has to seriously impair the recovery of the foot, don't you think? I won't have time nor could I get an appointment with my primary care doc today---hoping the foot doc will come through.

We are heading out of town today about 1PM--going to visit our son and his family. Of course, we are heading to a football game tonight and a college game tomorrow night. That's what you do when you get two coaches together---football. Also going to get to see my very best friend and his wife this weekend also. Should be fun---as long as I feel good, need those meds.

October will be over for me in a blink of an eye. I have so much going on with work and will be traveling a good part of the month. I'm wondering if I'll have time to scrap.

Chris--so glad you finally got the blood work done. Now drink all the coffee you want.

everyone have a blessed day!

lOve the O!
Morning all - MMG sister passed last night. Today I am relieving my stress with scrap therapy. Her son will not have memorial service until right before his wedding in Dec. We all live far away and most do not have means to make the trip twice. I am relieved she went quickly as hospice had given her 1-5 days. Not sure what else is going on today, but Chris, I can't agree with you more- YEAH end of Sept and Hello October.

Morning all.

Laurie - I'm glad the deathwatch is over. That has been on my mind since I arrived her at the O. It certainly makes me think of how I want to be in my final days - one who cherished her life and family, and saw how many undeserved blessings she'd received along the way.

Terry - uh, do you think you have foot and mouth!?!??

Chris - I not only bruise easily when I have blood drawn, I pass out. I'm not afraid of blood, but my dr is very clear now that I lay down when it's done. I have slid right out from those chairs that look like hs desks. I TELL them but sometimes they don't believe me! It's happened since I went for my first college app physical. Fortunately, my dr now does bloodwork right in her office. I'm glad about that cause one time I had to go to a lab I swear everyone in there had or was coming down with the creepy crud.

Today I get on the train south to MD. Hopefully we can both get seats next to the outlets so we can be on our laptops most of the way. I may start organizing my NYC pics. cya later!

Good Morning my Lovelies.....Happy Friday! Yeah 9 more hrs and I have freedom from work. I swear it just gets harder and harder to get in the mindset to go to work. Although I have to keep reminding myself how lucky I am to have my job with so many out of work....

chris-glad to hear the blood work went well! I love Halloween and will start putting out a few fall/halloween decorations tomorrow. My ex sister-in-law made this gorgeous flower arrangement for her dining room table, I may have to go find the elements and try putting one together myself.....it won't look as good as hers, but it will add some color to my table. Here is a picture of it....isn't it pretty!

Terry sorry to hear you are not feeling well, love Maureens comment, made me chuckle.

Laurie - Big Hugs to you, it's never easy loosing someone.

Maureen - you are just too funny.....

always chatty at the O!!
I am just hopping in real quick. My washing machine crapped out on me. Ugh!! Not happy about that. I have decided on $1200 to buy a new set. I want to get a front loading washer. I don't have the money...but I'm not going to start hand washing my clothes any time soon.

yesterday was volunteer day. I only shot 1 x-ray which was kinda annoying so I talked to the lead tech and she said I could have my own room now. I'm not a student and it felt like I was just following people around. Booo!! So shooting x-rays on my own will be much better. Plus then I can bust my butt and show what a good worker I am. :)

Okay...I need to go spend some money. Blech!!

Terry - Hope that you get your meds that you need, sounds like you will need them with the busy weekend you have planned!!

Maureen - You are too funny!!:pound: Can't wait to see your pictures of your trip!!

Frani - that arrangement is beautiful and goes so well with the color of her candle sticks! Hope yours turns out lovely too!! I feel the same way about work, but also am very glad to have it, with so many looking for a job!!

Clara - Yuk about the washing machine, it must be the time of year for appliances to go, my daughter had to buy new washer and dryer a few weeks ago, then my MIL had to get a new washing machine and now you?? Hope mine are going to work for a long time yet, darn things are so expensive!! But like you say we are not going to start handwashing all of our clothes :nono: You show those people what a real super star you are at work girl!!! Have a great Friday!!

Good afternoon everyone from the UK it is 4.00 pm here and we have had the most amazing hot day it's warmer here now than it was in July. We don't really celebrate Halloween over the way you guys do but it's beginning to catch on .
I bruise really easily I have to have blood taken for my thyroid so sympathise with those that struggle it doesn't get any easier !!!
I think it's wonderful that all of us can 'talk' to each other like this and I'm sure it helps during those dark days when you could do with a hug and a large piece of cake.
So to all of you out in the big wide world have a good day .

...loves her some "O"
Morning, girlies!!! I've been doing so much this week...and I've been taking it a bit easy at the same time!! yep, I'm an oxymoron for sure...not a moron, just an oxymoron! LOL!!!! Yesterday, I helped my daughter clean up her room a little bit so we could get my sil's stuff out of her closet. My mil, fil, sil and her daughters moved to a new house about 20 mins away instead of living 2 mins away. I'm sad they aren't around the corner anymore, but I'm so excited they got a new place with a pool and an extra room. And in Houston terms, 20 mins isn't far at all. My mom lives 20 mins away, too, so it's par for the course! I'm sooooo blessed to have family this close!

Ohhhh girls, I'm soooo excited about so much fun going on here! I'm going with a group of girlies to the Round Top Antiques Fair tomorrow all day and I can't wait to find props and vintage linens and buttons for my business!! And I've sold a bunch of stuff in the store to actually have money to buy some stuff!! (There's more in there if you need something quilty!!! LOL!!! shameless Friday pimping!!!! my link's in my siggy! bwahahaha!!) My advent calendars are starting to sell, too, so I need to get going on them! And I have two projects for my creative team to finish today so I'm not stressing next week...

AND GUESS WHAT??? Mr Gorgeous is taking me to CALIFORNIA the second week of Oct!!! Soooo excited!! I have a couple of friends there now! So I can hang with friends while he's at work and we can party all night!! My kids are not excited about having to go to Oma's house...they were trying to get her to come to our house...well, I should say my two youngers are very excited about it. Anyway, it's going to be a super fun week!!!!

Okay, apparently the caffeine is taking over and I have to clean out the playroom...like really clean it out with giveaway stuff and all, so I better go use the caffeine to my advantage...but I want to give a shout out to everyone first!!

Chris, so glad your bloodwork worked out!! And can we ever find our kids anymore now that they are teenagers???? LOL!!!! My two older kiddos keep doing things together and I'm wondering who stole my children and replaced them with aliens that look just like them!! LOL!!! ♥

Ohhh terry, enjoy your football this weekend!! We are HUGE football fans here, so it's nice to have that in common with our whole fam!! praying your foot feels better and more importantly, that your whole body gets back to healthy!!! ♥

Laurie, hugs, hugs, and more hugs!!! I know this was a long anticipated moment, and we are so glad for the peace!! More prayers for your fam, especially your nephew and his wife-to-be!!! sending my love to you, dear friend!!! ♥

Maureen, you soooo crack me up!!! Hope you got outlets today on the train!!! Hugs to you, dear!!! ♥

Frani, ohhhhh prettiness on that table!!! Enjoy every moment today!! Mr Gorgeous keeps thinking the same thing about work (which he is overloaded with at the moment!!!)...so thankful for the work!! ♥

Clara, clara, clara...i just wanted to say your name three times!! LOL!! I love ya, girl!! and front loading machines are the bomb!!! We upgraded last year and love them!!!! hugs, my dearest! ♥

Trudy, we actually had a huge thunderstorm last night and we relished it!! You can continue to send your precipitation down here, please!!!! havea great SHORT day at work and enjoy that scrapping today!!!! ♥

Hi Viv!!! I'm sally, sooo nice to meet you!!! Sending you a special piece of virtual Texas cake!! I'm starting to get addicted to cake...especially cupcakes...but virtual ones are calorie free so I'll try to stick with those!!! ♥

and to everyone who pops in after me, have a FABULOUS Friday!!! yipeeeeee!!!!

love you all ♥

update: foot doctor didn't come through with meds. He came in with a mask on! Foot is doing fine. Going in to two weeks for check up and then schedule the other foot for surgery.

BUT the primary care doc (friend of mine) called and he called in a script for me! Yay!! I should be feeling better soon!! Just took the first pill! Hope the voice comes back soon.

Sally--you are in Houston? I'm heading there today to see my son and his family. The Cypress area.
