I have to go for fasting blood work this morning. I cheated and I don't care. I had to have a half of a cup of coffee. How much can a bit of milk and caffeine throw off basic blood work? And if if it does, it was worth it!!!!

TGIF to everyone. What fun plans are up head for everyone? I am working today for one of my cleaning clients, then I have to pack up for tomorrow. I am babysitting my adorable nephew from 10 am til whenever (probably midnight), so I am staying over at my brother's. They live an hour away and the last thing I want to do is drive home that late. I can't see at night so I am danger to myself and anyone on or near the roads LOL

Just a quick note before I post this so I can go check and see if my kids are almost ready for school....

A have read a few of the "a-team" say that they need to reply to everyone in the thread and that you aren't used to that. No no!!!

This is a 100% no-stress, no-obligation type thread. There is enough of that crap IRL- no need to do it here.;) Post whatever, how much, how little, how often you like. If you want to just say Hi every day and be done, its all good. If you want to write novels about your day, like I do- that's great too. If you want to write detailed replies to everyone (or do that one day and not the next) again, no pressure!

You'll see a lot of us talk about our O-Fam, the Oscraps Family.Thats b/c its who we are and this is one thread where we can just check in for a wave, a cup of virtual coffee, a venting session, or a longer visit. No one here will ever look down on anyone else for not "posting/replying properly" b/c there is no "properly!

Ok- that is my soapbox moment for the day :D

XOXO to everyone!

don't know where you are Chris but you must get up early!! Shame on you for cheating. :) But I don't blame you--the time when you just have to have that coffee is when you can't! Sounds like you are going to have a busy weekend with kids.

Yes! It's Friday! Getting my stitches out! Then to see if I can walk! I'm a bit worried about that. The rest of the day---work, work, work.

Tonight we will be heading to the football game at the high school. No, I don't have kids in high school anymore. Yes, married to a coach who loves all sports. We go to everything from football to basketball to track to golf--all of it.

have a great day!!

Good Morning lovely ladies! Sitting here with my first cup of coffee and just relaxing before I have to get ready for work.

Training was boring yesterday not too many people coming by for a quick walk through on how to access your check online. I was suppose to train today, but am going into work today. The HR gals will handle anyone that comes by today for training.

Chris - shame on you for cheating......LOL ......what fun to babysit your nephew!

Laurie - now that sounds like one relaxing scene with the candles burning and coffee....

Terry - did you have some sort of surgery? Hoping your day goes well.

Morning all! or afternoon or evening!

Chris- Thanks for the sweet words. I'm so gabby that usually as I write, there are one or two posts made WHILE I write!

Terry - I missed your surgery too! I only read that you'd been away on a business trip. Whassup lady? whatever, I do hope you can walk asap. But perhaps that will leave dh to be sick in silence??

Laurie - Sounds like you are really taking care of yourself with the light and candle.

Chris - My tea is black and decaf and the dr said I could have that. Ok there's stevia in it too. I too cannot see so well at night and hope the upcoming visit to the eye dr resolves some of that.

Fran - My son and dil say they pass on all training. Me? I'll take any info I can get because you often learn one new gem.

me? last load of laundry in the washer, and then eat, pack my suitcase and wait for dh. It's another muggy day but no rain. My only raincoat is a yellow slicker and I'm sick of it but not enough to go hunting for the one I want which will be a hooded black one. DH does say he can at least spot me when I wander off! and trust me I do stand out in a crowd in Europe! However, in a boating town like Annapolis I blend in to the zillions of others in yellow slickers. At least mine is lighter than the oilcloth and does breathe. I got it dirt cheap out in CA yrs ago at a Woolrich outlet. I am grateful for the years of service it's given me but...

Well, I want my tea now. But I think I'll ice it. ciao ladies.

Chris, thanks for letting me off the hook on responding to everyone! i still want to try to pay attention to other peoples' days, though. i need to chastise you about eating before a fasting blood test. yep, it DOES make a difference!! the milk can screw up your fasting blood glucose reading big time!! i hate those blasted tests.

Terry, hope your foot will be completely healed and functional ASAP!

Maureen, i adore your gabby self!

Laurie, i would NEVER get started if i were sitting with a candle and a light box first
thing. good luck on getting out the door! it does sound like a lovely way to start the day.

Fran. time does drag when the people aren't filing through often enough. glad the HR girls are handling it today!

i think we're into the Gray Season in earnest here where i am. a little fog. a little drizzle. temps in the 60s and not a glimmer of sunshine. i may never see the sun again until April. looks like laundry and house-cleaning for me today. think i'll watch Episode 6 of "The Hour" again while i'm scrubbing the kitchen floor. i downloaded "Dead Again," a great Kenneth Brannaugh (sp?) film that i've already seen about 10 times onto my iPad, so that'll be in my video que for today, too. does anyone else find it easier to do physical work when there's something else happening to take your mind off the work??
i guess a lot of people use music for that. for me it's video. i tend to watch (or actually "listen to") stuff i like over and over, so i'm not exactly WATCHING the video while i'm working. i already know what it looks like, it's more like "books on Tape," with me running the film in my mind.

have a great weekend, ladies. i wish some sunshine for you all, wherever you find yourself.

always chatty at the O!!
Hey ladies...I am going to be kinda quick today. I haven't taken my happy pills today yet so I'm a little agitated and just don't feel like sitting the computer for very long...if that makes sense. Once I'm medicated I'm sure I'll b back for personals.

Ethan is home sick today. Every so often he wakes up in the morning and throws up and feels like crap. Then either he sleeps for a bit or just lays for a bit and he's fine...but he did throw up so I'm not taking him to school. I do think I'll be making an appt with the doctor to check it out. I just too Addie to school...it was pouring down rain. Kinda odd for here since it usually rains at night...but I don't mind. It raised the humidity quite a bit and so I couldn't wear my glasses because they kept fogging up. My glasses help my eyes be lazy but I can see fine without them.

Do any of you know why an EHD would beep? One of mine started beeping and it makes my husband crazy so he ripped out all the EHDs and screwed up all my setting on my scrap stuff. Ugh!! Boys are so dramatic.

Okay, I need to watch Grey's Anatomy. We don't have cable so I have to wait until it is online to watch.

I hope to be back soon. Hugs to everyone.

Afternoon, girlies!!!

I second what Chris said about posting!! I'm the worst about popping in and just being selfish and talking all about me (since it really is all about me, isn't it????), but I know that you girlies love me no matter what!!

today's agenda for me is to finish this quilt for my darling friend. It's a twin size, the biggest I've quilted myself, so I'm looking forward to it!! It was darn hard to pin baste it and I grumbled and complained all the way through it!! (I know you are surprised that I was whiney!! LOL!!) But now I'm on to my second favorite part...the quilting...then it'll be my favorite part: the binding!! LOVE that the best!! :)

Anyway, i better get to it...it isn't going to quilt itself!!

hugs to everyone!!!! and to everyone new, welcome, welcome!!!!
love you all!!

Happy late afternoon from rainy NYC! Great arrival except slogging my suitcase on the bus with high steps and then having it stuck when I was trying to get off!!! We had a bus driver switch mid route and the 2nd one got on grumpy. I was afraid he would take off while I was yanking and yanking! Add one more story to the Naked City tales.

Clara: Hope your chicks feel better soonest. I would say that a beeping ehd is Not Good. Power surge protector in place I hope?

Oh wow.... such a crazy day today. I never made it to get my blood drawn.
Very long story short, the kids texted me this morning from their school bus, saying that a school bus had hit a kid and he was dead in the road.

The good news in all of this is that he is in serious/stable condition which is amazing. My friend is an EMT and was on his way to work when it happened and he was first one there. He said it was bad. Very bad :( Caitlyn was about hysterical, b/c they could see it from their bus and they were stuck in the traffic. It happened right by her BFF's house, so we were worried about her, then the rumors started to fly and we finally found out it was a 15 yo boy, in Scott's grade.

I cancelled my blood appt but ended up going to work- I swear i cleaned the same spot a zillion times, walked around, missed a few spots, cleaned more clean spots already. I am lucky that my clients put up with me.

I am just going to ask for all of your praying people to say a quick prayer/and or send good energy to the kids in my town, to the bus driver (was taken to hospital w/ chest pains) the EMT's and police who seem to have to handle injured teens in my town more than they should have too-- and especially for a full recovery of this boy.
