TGIF!! Hmm, I wish we had a TGIF smilie :whoo: <~ does that one work??

Did I ever come back and finish personals? I don't think I did. I have been having some major Lyme brain issues again. I hate it. I cleaned yesterday for my neighbor, and I couldn't remember if I cleaned parts of his house. And his house is pretty small! Today I am cleaning again. The woman who called me in 2 weeks ago, called back for another job. My fingers are crossed tight for a regular spot, and this def. makes it look like a better possibility!
Annnnd-- my MIL needs me again next week. Not that any of this helps pay off the credit card, but it does put food on the table and gas in my car.

Speaking of credit cards, I saw my bill for one of Cait's blood tests- $270, for one test. Yesterday I got the call from her dr. She did test positive for Babesia duncani. Its a relatively new strain of babesia and the regular tests don't pick it up. Scott had the regular strain, babesia microti. Babs is a malaria-like illness, and you need to take Mepron to get rid of it. In my house we call mepron "latex paint" because that is exactly what it looks like- yellow paint. When I told cait about the babs, she kind of went Ughhhh!! When I told her about the mepron, she started to cry. She posted a pic onher FB page of what it looks like- its so gross...

My point up there is that while my credit card it outrageous, it is 95% all medical expenses, but I am happy (ok, satisfied!) to be billed like that when there is a result that we can work with.

Then yesterday when I was cleaning my neighbors house, I broke the tooth off of a horse skull. Then I knocked down a couple of swords and a cleaver. This guy is the neatest guy and very, very eclectic. He collects weapons of all kinds, and actually has a real iron Maiden. I left him a note apologizing about the skull and swords and then had to admit that I never had to write about breaking a skull before!! :pound:

Finish It Friday:
Gotta finish cleaning my own house :pout:

Have a great one!

I am going to try and zip through some of these before I get working.

Laurie- it must be a bittersweet concert this time around. Enjoy your day :)
How did your painting go? Are you done?

Fran- I am sure you are going to look spooky no matter what.

Phyllis- I am a recovering anorexic and I hate b-fast too. After I finished treatment (or, rather- my insurance co finished it for me) I had to eat b-fast or my family would be after me in a really irritating way. I never liked b-fast, and to be watched having to eat it made it 100 times worse. I feel your pain!
My MIL (also Type 1) like greek yogurt for b-fast, lots less carbs than regular.
Your kitchen counter sounds like my desk- paper clutter everywhere.

Donna- Hi! I watch my neighbor's 8 yo some mornings and it is fun too- nice to reconnect with little kids as opposed to teens.

Maureen- We had some wet snow last night! nooo! And 4-6" this weekend possibly!!

That is all I have time for TAM< got to get some laundry in before I head out...

xoxo!

Good morning ladies.

Yay for Friday! Lots of work planned for me though. We're having a Halloween party so lots of housework. But I do get my new dryer today. It wasn't supposed to be here until late afternoon but the delivery guy called and said it would be easier to deliver it around 9. Yay!!

So my poor girl has really been struggling the past couple days. She had to get 5 shots and they are making her pretty miserable. Not sick but that cranky that kids get the couple days before getting sick. Hopefully today is better. I was not happy about all of the shots. She had to get the pox and also hep a. I am not anti vaccine but both of those seem like they should be a choice and not mandatory. The pox explanation worked. If someone gets them when they have an issue that has slaughtered their immune system it is a death sentence. But the hep a is just in case you go someplace unclean and it is in the water or something. I just don't like that these are mandatory.

So have you guys seen all the fun announcements in the forums? Make sure to check them out in the what's new and the o so happy forums.

Chris - Lyme brain sounds horrible. Similar to chemo brain. I hope some of these meds start pushing some of the yuck back. Poor cait. Addie throws a fit over grape flavored advil. I can't imagine if she had to take something like that. Sending hugs!!

Laurie enjoy your concert. Did you ever decide what to do with that photo? Hugs!

Chris, Lyme Brain sounds ike Fibro Brain. and i've always WANTED to break some skulls, but never had the opportunity! :eyebrows: hope your Cait catches a break with her troubles. the medicine sounds grim.

Laurie! Sugarland! WOW!

Clara, did they give your little one ALL 5 shots on the same day? whoa. that's a lot. poor little thing. i hated it when my kids got shots. my daughter was OK, but my son spiked 105 temps EVERY time.

i looked out the window when i got out of bed...and couldn't see anything. we are SO fogged-in! great. gray, drizzle and now FOG. then i turned on the radio and learned that it's going to snow a bit tomorrow. GAHHHH! i don't WANT this!:frusty:

believe it or not, i'm wrapping Christmas gifts today. gotta send them overseas to the Grandmen and their parents. i never know how long it's going to take for stuff to get there. then i have to go out and do some errands. yesterday it was so ugly that i didn't even go outside, except to get the mail.

have a great day, everybody.

Good Morning lovely ladies!

Yesterday was not a good day, or should I say evening....after work and fighting the horrible San Jose traffic, I stopped at Michaels to see if they had any small plastic spiders I wanted to get some to glue on my face as part of my costume. No luck, went to the halloween store, no luck! Was going to get my nails painted black, but was just too tired, came home and was totally depressed.....did I tell you I HAAAAAATE bay area drivers, they are so rude.....enough said.

Getting ready to put on the makeup and head out to work....oh yeah I have to drive with all this stuff on...luckily it is dark when I head out. I thought about taking street clothes and changing before I head home....don't want to cause any accidents....HEE HEE

Chris you poor thing, you broke a skull....OMG is that like 10 yrs bad luck....hoping not....

Laurie hope you enjoy your concert tonight, gotta let us know how it went.

Clara House work eeeew....gotta do mine tomorrow morning since my grandson (2 yrs old) is coming for a visit in the afternoon. Saw the announcement and sent in my apps.....finger crossed.

Phylis OMG you are wrapping presents already....WOW you are very organized.

They did. I was mad because I asked if they could get someone else in there to help with the shots so that they could do 2 at a time instead of 5 total...but no...they couldn't possibly do that. I was unimpressed. Plus the lady didn't listen and when I suggested another person she quit listening and decided I was talking about holding her...which I wasn't. I wanted the shots to get done quicker. No fevers for her...just a general unwell feeling. She had to have all five to stay in school. I remember only getting one shot when I was that age. Complete ridiculousness.

Morning ladies! Thought I would drop by again to say hello and happy Friday!

Chris-Sorry to hear about the skull, but that is a funny story. I hope the meds are successful. Must be tough for both of you.

Laurie-Enjoy the concert and I'm sure it will be very special.

Clara- Five is a lot of shots. When I worked public health and did immunizations if we had a large number of shots for a child we always tried to have two of us doing them at the same time with one nurse on each side. We organized our vaccines and got all the paper work out of the way. Focused on the child with some humor and then quickly moved through those shots. Hope she is feeling better.

Phylis- Enjoy the snow (or not!) Wow! Wrapping gifts!! Way to go!

Frani- Hope you enjoy your day and would LOVE to see you all dressed up in the car next to me!! Hope today is better.

I'm running errands today. My hubby returns from business in North Carolina today. My kids will be home this weekend and we are celebrating my birthday which isn't until next week, but you have to turn those week day birthdays into weekend celebrations.
Happy Friday, ladies!

Happy Friday Ladies!!! Hope that everyone enjoys this last day of the week. Yikes Halloween in three days and I haven't even bought candy yet. Good thing though as we would just eat most of it ourselves. :hungry: I went for a nice long walk after work yesterday, needed to clear my head, it was a rough day at work!! It was just one of those days when everything that could go wrong did!! Oh well perhaps today will be better!

Chris - Sorry that Cait has to take the latex paint...ewwwh!! Hope your friend is not mad about you breaking his skull lol ! Have a good day at work and I am sending healing thoughts your way for your lyme brain day!

Laurie - enjoy your concert! Hopefully all goes well!!

Clara - Your poor Addie!! Hope that she does not get sick from soooo many shots!! You are right I can see having the pox vaccination, that one is a must!! But the hep shots?? Yes if you are travelling a lot and going to Mexico or something. I am going to have to check out this fly lady thing!!

Phylis - Christmas presents?? Really?? I haven't even thought about gifts yet, but I better get my butt in gear, because its going to be at our house this year and we will have a full house!! Yikes!! :scared:

Frani - Too bad about not being able to get the spiders! That sounds like it would have been a great touch to your makeup! Hope you don't give anyone a heart attack on your way home from work!

Donna - How nice that everyone is coming home!! Happy Birthday!! (a few days early) , hope that you have a great time celebrating this weekend!!

Off to :brushteeth: and then head out to work, hopefully I will be here this afternoon to catch up on the happenings here at the "O"

Hello Peeps!

Back from the gym and finalizing the Lion update on my Macbook. I asked Dick to do it for me as a favor and he did but ran into hard drive issues. It HAD been working just fine but ya never know. Into the Apple store where they repaired it but suggested that I get a new hard drive since it was still under warranty. I did. This is the only computer I don't back up cause all the stuff is on the other one AND my backup ehd AND on Crashplan. It really is like having a totally new computer so ....my part is now that I have Lion, I get it back to the way it mostly was. Install programs that didn't come with it, settings, etc. Not quite fun but wth.

However...isn't there always one??? Mr. R. was working on it while I was at the gym, and seems to have spilled either coffee or maple syrup on my trackpad. I seem to have an issue with right clicking....hmmmmmmm. I do hope it's just a setting! if not, Mrs. R will be royally pissed.

back later for personals.

Chris - sorry but your note made me laugh haha!!! I can't imagine ever having to write that!! I hope Cait gets better quick - yuck - can't imagine having to be on that stuff!! The h. pylori test cost me $315 - ack! I wish blood tests were cheaper!

Laurie - I've been meaning to ask you if you were going to the concert!!! Enjoy yourself :)

Clara - awww poor Addie!!! The pox shot did just that for me... you know that story, 10 years after getting immunized I catch chicken pox the first week I started teaching... I think without the shot it really would of been bad for me and my stupid immune system.

Phylis - I hope your presents arrive on time! I know exactly how that goes!

Frani - Oh my goodness - I feel your pain - just reading 'San Jose traffic' makes me anxious. I used to stay in San Jose with my husband's aunt when I would have business at the California School for the Deaf... sooo glad I don't have to drive through that anymore!!! I hope you find what you need without having to deal with anymore traffic!

Donna - Happy early Birthday!

Trudy - I hope today is better for you at work!!

Maureen - I hope you're able to get your 'new' computer set up again how you like! I've been having major issues with my new macbook pro... I guess Lion doesn't play well with Photoshop still. It's gotten better since the last update to Lion.

Woohoo! It's almost Sunday!!! I can't wait! After the rough week Jeff's had, I'm really looking forward to having him home for an entire weekend since deer season started. He's taking me to see Puss in Boots, then we're probably going to use a groupon for this bistro that the locally owned wine store just opened... I can't wait!!!

Today I have no idea what to do with myself. I'm all caught up and pretty far ahead with work... I think I'm finally going to sew some reusable tote bags for grocery shopping. I've been saving our feed bags but just haven't had the time! Here's what I'm planning on doing:
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Feed-Sacks-to-Tote-Bags/241583152965

We'll see... I might do something insane like clean...

Chris - Glad to hear you're getting more work. Those meds seriously add up I know. Sorry to hear bout Cait's new issue. When it makes your child cry, that's when it breaks more than your pocketbook. :(

Laurie - Lucky you for the concert tonight! My husband and I have very different musical tastes. Very.

Clara - Oh poor Addie. 5 shots is a lot! Better you than me with a Halloween party. We don't even have candy.

Phylis - APOs this early usually are pretty good about the mail. But props to you for being so on the ball with this.

Frani - Ditto 'better you than me' re the whole Halloween business. I do like the holiday but we don't have the children in the neighborhood any more and it's just become another day for me.

Donna - Sounds like you'll have a full house this weekend, and a fun house. Happy Birthday early!!!

Trudy - Hope your workday was easier than the rest of the week.

Back to me..isn't it always about me??? :loco: Turns out I only had to reset the right click key but dh denies spilling anything on the Macbook so this is one battle I'm just going to leave…… wisely I think. cya later!

Meg, glad to see another Mac user!! We're going to an iCloud session on Tues. Synching some but not all of three computers is one issue I think Dick is slightly letting go of - and get the advice of experts first. We both know a lot about our puters so it's hard, more for him than me, to wait and not jump in and try to figure it out himself. He is an engineer too... what more do I need to say?!?!

I LOVE my mac!!! I had to go back to a PC when my first macbook died this summer... and that was the hardest two weeks of my life. I still have to use PCs for processing real estate appraisals - but that's it.

Let me know how that goes!! I haven't taken the time to look into iCloud much... all I've done is set up my contacts to sync. I don't use Mail because I use gmail for everything, and I also have google calendar syncing through microsoft exchange... So other than music & photos, I pretty much already had everything going on!

Frani - Will do!!! It got a pretty good review in our paper. My husband has been itching to see it ever since he saw the first few previews!
