The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
One busy/hectic day at work down, two more to go. It is too bad that yesterday was the easy hectic day and tomorrow is the off-the-rails one LOL!

The field trip was awesome and I learned a lot. I think I would have no problems leading that one the next time it runs. It was fascinating watching the kids put all of the knowledge together for their afternoon activity. In the first part of the day, we led the class through different areas of Weis where we have incorporated Green Infrastructure. In the afternoon, they design a restaurant using all of the information from the tour. It was so cool to see them think their plans through, where to place say-- the compost bin and rain barrel to make it easiest to access and use.

I got the go-ahead for the Pumpkin Chunkin field trip plan today! They loved the concept of using the Sci Method for pumpkin and gourd explorations. whew! I had to stop at the supermarket to pick up the ingredients, along with some things they need for the first night of the Wicked Walk. (They trust me with the Weis Debit card :wow2: :giggle4: )
Then I had to finish collecting the ingredients I needed from here, gather all of the pieces for the Instant Pot, and print out the worksheets to create our hypothesis and data collection.
Talk about pooped out by dinner time. :thud:

Nothing like biting off a huge field trip project on the same days of the Wicked Walk. Thankfully, I am not working that tonight but I'll be there tomorrow.

Wish me luck and sanity!
:thankyouspin:

This is retirement. Within the first hour of being awake this morning I said to Brian, "Do you know what today is? The Diplomat drops." :claphands: :lol23:No meetings to worry about, no status reports, no resolving problems...just waiting for a new season of The Diplomat on Netflix. This is an amazing mind shift.
LOL!! That's awesome! And thanks for letting me know it dropped. I saw that it was coming "soon," but I didn't process when.
Still sticking my fingers in my ears for health insurance talk. But I truly hope that it works out for Brian soon.
I love egg roll bowls- but I make mine with tofu. Sooo good! We have actually become big "bowl meals" fans recently.
How was your Happy Hour meet up?

I'm off at noon to see the orthopedic surgeon;
Is this for your shoulder? I hope whichever body part(s) are giving you grief can be fixed.
The trees here are glorious! I hate the fall weather but the trees on the mountains when the sun hits them... breathtaking.

No covid symptoms yet, thank the Lord! However my ibs was on a roll, literally, all night!
Good news about no Covid symptoms, booo to the IBS ones. How is Mark feeling?
I want to retire!!! :bawling: (it's not happening for another +/- 15 years). Although with this shutdown, it does seem like I'm retired. No peace of mind though...
I can't imagine :(
Lots of hugs to you and your friend. I hope that the appointment wasn't too difficult.
It is in the same class as Shingles ... it can live on your body and pop out when the body is stressed. UGH!!!
No way! I have to let Caitlyn know about that. She gets hives, similar to Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, and has had Covid twice. I hope it doesn't affect her too much because your arm/hives looked awful. So happy that the meds/cream are helping you sleep better.
What do you do, Chris? That sounds fascinating :)
I have the best job in the world ♥ I am an Educator at a local ecology center and we run a ton of different programs. We do a lot of school field trips, Scout badges, Forest Bathing/Meditation walks, stuff like that. I work with a Jehovah's Witness Homeschool Pod. They come 1-2 times a month and I develop the curriculum and then lead the program. That is why I was concerned about the Pumpkin Chunkin since they don't celebrate Halloween. We usually have the kids pick pumpkins and then carve or paint them before we put them in the trebuchet. Instead, I have them weighing and measuring them and then predict how far they will fly and if they will break on impact. Oh, and I am going to see if they know the difference between fruits and veggies. Botanically speaking, of course :D
The Wicked Walk this weekend is like a Haunted House, but the guests will travel from cabin to cabin, then through a forest trail, and over to the campfire. That's where I will be. Easy(ish) job of handing out the supplies for the s'mores and hot chocolate.
love all of these things you are doing. I had to look up "trebuchet". If you make pumpkin bread with them, you aren't going to use pumpkin are you? I mean, you are going to get your pumpkin from a can, right?
Last year, I had to learn the difference between a trebuchet (uses gravity) and a catapult (uses tension). I learned something new every darn day that I am there.
Oh, the pumpkin is from a can!!! There are some things that would make life much harder and fresh pumpkin would be one of them hahaha!
As much as I want Syd in the midwest within driving distance, if she winds up in the northeast we will get to meet in person. I really feel like this is going to happen in the next year!
Please come to NJ!!!!!!!!!
:prettyplease:

Time to get my day started and count down until I am back home in my PJs!

You've got this, Chris! And the kids will LOVE it!

Mark is sounding and feeling much better today! As a matter-of-fact, he just took off to the woods to sit by a fire! I told him I hoped being out in the cool air did not set him back! He promised all he was going to do is sit by the fire! We shall see! ;)

Good Morning,
I think Mark is on the uphill side of COVID now! He sounds so much better this morning. And I can tell he is feeling much better, too. He went to the shop and got his paycheck. Came back and headed to the woods with Piper to sit by a fire! He promised that was all he was doing! I told him I hoped being out in the chilly air was not going to set him backwards!

After my sleepless night on Wednesday, I went to bed at 10 last night, even before Mark! And I don't know when he finally came to bed since he was laying on the couch watching football, but I didn't hear him come in and didn't feel him get into the bed! And I didn't wake up one time until 4:24 a.m.! I got up to go to the bathroom and went back to sleep! Thank You, Lord, for a wonderful night of sleep!

I actually finished up the regular challenges for the month yesterday! First time in a while that I have had enough mojo to get them all done! I'm going to look at the designer challenges today.

With Mark being home yesterday, it seemed like Saturday. So my whole weekend is going to be messed up! He was feeling better yesterday afternoon and asked me if I would be up to going to pick up some pizza for supper! So, I'm glad he is feeling better! Thank You, Lord! He said his smell is coming back, too!

OK, I think I will close this out and take a gander at the designer challenges.

Have a great day!

Good morning ladies. I didn't get up until 7:00. I'm telling you that this is unheard of in my life. I went to bed at 10:30 but could not go to sleep. Nothing new there. But after tossing and turning and thinking about how much I wanted to go to sleep, I realized that I could get up and do something else because I didn't have an alarm set. So I got up and made myself a nest on the couch and watched two more episodes of The Diplomat surrounded by Kleenex boxes and water bottles and cough drops. Boo for this nasty cold but Yay for the retirement schedule. I fell asleep at about 2 am and slept in until 7:00. And, if I get tired, I'll take another nap. This is crazy!

Happy hour with friends was fun. One of the women just returned from 2 weeks in Italy...she retired in August. We swapped favorite books to read, found that we both love historical fiction. I don't have anything planned for the day...think I will see if I can get some rest and knock this cold out!

I cannot wait to hear about the Pumpkin Chunkin field trip. So clever to have them record measurements....that's brilliant! You have found your calling @faerywings. Sydney has applied at Campbells which is in NJ but basically Philly. I told her that I can see myself exploring Philly, NYC and meeting my friend Chris while visiting her. The silver lining for all of these faraway locations.

Well I'm thrilled that you have not caught Covid from Mark. And hopefully that good night of sleep will keep it that way! Hoping that sitting by the fire will make him feel like it is warm!

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Good Morning Ladies!!!
This week has gotten away from me. I am wondering what day are we on? I would have sworn it was Saturday then I saw the calendar and Chris's heading on here and its only Friday? Are you sure??? Yep, you are.

the off-the-rails one LOL!
So basically this will be normal? :floorlaugh:

I swear I've been busy but my goodness I dont know with what. I dont know that I could pinpoint one thing I did but it feels like I never stopped. I did get the AJ done though so that was fun. Took longer to get it looking right than I planned. How did one simple layout that I knew I wanted the second I read the quote take so long? Yeah, must have been the book reading that was distracting me. And not finding the elements I wanted.

Not too much happening here, errands to run and dinner to cook, normal stuff. Hope you all have a wonderful day! @LSlycord Linda I am loving your retirement schedule! Love how you have embraced it and sleep when you need, bing watch when ya want! :heartpumppink: Hope the cold goes away quickly so you can really enjoy retirement.

Oh my! It IS a fantastic job! I used to teach in a Catholic middle school for girls back in Poland, and I loved it very much. Then I came to the US, and my first job here was in a private daycare. I learned English together with the youngest children, who were learning how to talk. Surrealistic experience, LOL! The first book I read in English was "Are You My Mama?":floorlaugh:
Anyway, your job sounds awesome (intense, but awesome). I would LOVE to join the Forest Bathing/Meditation walk... I feel so burned out that the silence of the forest appeals to me more than ever... Oh well, maybe one day :)

I'm so glad your husband is getting better! Yay! :cheer:

Good morning, O Friends! :)
My friend and I both survived a visit to the doctor's. She was utterly spent, though, as every single action was causing her a ton of anxiety and panic attacks. She got referrals to two other specialists, and the vision of seeing them almost made her cry.
At the end of the day, I felt rather spent, too. I had to be my friend's "spokesperson", advocate, nurse, therapist, driver, keep her from falling apart, and be cheerful and upbeat. My inner introvert wants to hide in the art room and dive into digital scrapbooking/art journaling :P

Hey everyone! Add me to the have a nasty cold pile of people. I worked a ton of hours the last two weeks (or 3 or 4), and took today off to shed some hours. The plan was to stay home and rest, scrap, do a lot of nothing. Well. That didn't happen. I woke up feeling absolutely terrible, but had to take in some dry cleaning and get a few groceries, and do some minor errands. While doing that, Mark called and wanted to go to lunch. So. After getting home at 3:30, I took a nap until 6:30. Feeling a little better this evening with some nyquil on board. We'll see what tomorrow brings. I have to be over this before next Friday - we're heading to AZ for a wedding.

Too tired to catch up with everybody's day, but I'm thinking about all of you and hope you have a great weekend.
